Good food .... Sometimes a bit busy though but worth the wait. Happy to see there is a sushi place in town though :)

Cute little place and really friendly service. The sushi was fine, but mediocre. Too many of the roll options contain imitation crab or fried things and mayo sauces. Like, seemingly ALL of the roll options. I wanted fresh sushi and I like to taste the fish. I came here on a Monday night and did all you can eat. It's a great deal, no doubt about it, ($28 and you can order as much as you want), but it was overall just not that memorable. I got a roll recommended by the sushi chef that had fresh snow crab (it was the only roll with real crab) and tempura flakes and it was tasty enough but kind of light on the ingredients. Another roll with grilled salmon recommended by the other chef was awful. Overcooked fish and a mayo sauce. The nigiri was OK, probably the best thing I tried. I had albacore and yellowtail. The potstickers were fine, but also meh. I'd come back and try some other things next time I want sushi and don't feel like driving farther away. It's nice enough and fine for what it is, it's just not very traditional. The menu is very Americanized and the roll options aren't my bag. read more

This place is awesome for an AYCE sushi joint. Fairly priced and fast and fresh. I tend to sit where the master chef is making sushi on the sushi bar. MasterChef David is a professional sushi chef and super creative. I encourage you all to go to him if you can the next time you go out for sushi! read more

I was a little disappointed when I went to this specific Trappers since I've never had issues with the chain. The staff is great, very friendly and professional, plus I've never had a bad wait time, but the sushi isn't that good. I've tried going a couple times to see if I had a fluke experience but the food has never really been that good. It's more of an issue with the quality of the ingredients than the preparation of it. I will say though that this location is very clean, which always puts me at ease when eating raw fish. read more

Aaaammmaazzzing! Service is great and I am impressed with the quality served here with so many options! Great teriyaki chicken to follow made my boyfriend extremely happy as he is not a sushi person. He did try all three roles I ordered and actually appreciated and wanted more of my sushi in the end. read more

The place is neither good nor bad. They serve decent sushi and if you need a fix on the road it's ok. But if you want better sushi drive on and stop in Bellevue where there are better places, and more reasonably priced. read more

Friends raved about this place so we decided to give it a try. Positives: the entire staff was incredibly friendly. Everyone was helpful and wanted to know what they could do for us. Negatives: the food was ok. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. We love sushi and have only found two places on the east side we enjoy. However, driving to Bellevue isn't always something we are up for. Was really hoping the food would be great considering the location. Overall I would say if you really enjoy sushi do yourself the favor and drive to Bellevue or Seattle. read more

This is an OK place to get your sushi fix if you're not willing to leave the comforts of North Bend. I've been here a couple times, the food quality is decent, but feels a bit like eating fast food sushi. Like most sushi places, the prices are a little on the high side. My advice, if you're willing to go outside of North Bend, go ahead and drive the 20 minutes into Issaquah and go to Japanese Ginger instead. read more

I am guessing that the three,four and five-star reviews are from people who do not have a sophisticated palate and don't mind sub-mediocre service. I should have known that a Sushi restaurant with TV's inside in a strip mall in North Bend would not be good... But my hubby had seen so many five stars... Below are the reasons I am reviewing with a one star. 1) When we were greeted by the hostess, or when we were seated she failed tot inform us of the all you can eat Sushi, which in not on the menu (I'm glad in hindsight). Staff should inform patrons of specials - always. 2) All the chairs were wobbly and had grease stains all over them. Really? 3) We ordered soft shelled crab, veggie tempura, Rainer roll, some other roll, and hamachi and salmon Nigiri. a) The soft shell crab was drenched in an oily tempura batter and the accompanying dipping sauce was so, so salty, I didn't touch it. b) Veggie tempura was wet and greasy and they gave us way-way too much. YUCK!!! It was gross c) The Ranier roll was salty, the fish was not fresh, and the scallops were smothered in mayo, which the menu said nothing about mayo scallops. d) My husband's roll had so much salty roe on it, he couldn't eat it. Also, instead of real crab, had imitation crab in it.. really? e) the nigiri was the worse fish I have ever tasted. It was warm, the salmon was probably farm raised and not even sushi grade fish or it was really really old. f) The soy sauce was extremely salty. Probably to hide the awful taste of the "sushi" Today I feel super sick, and I know it is from eating a few bites of this disgusting food. We left over 3/4 of our dish, and the waitress never asked if everything was all rite... HA! Maybe for those who have never had excellent and good quality sushi, they don't know how below par this place is. Trapper Sushi makes Blue C sushi seem amaze-balls, but if you tend to eat higher end sushi or even mid-level sushi... STAY AWAY!!!! FAR FAR AWAY! :) read more

One of the Sushi Chefs had the friendliest customer service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. He was very knowledgable, helpful, and enthusiastic about menu items. In general all Of the workers were very nice. The sushi was very tasty and one of the better and more affordable sushi restaurants I have visited. My boyfriend agrees with all statements made and he is not easily impressed. We went during happy hour and plan on visiting again soon! read more

Was I surprised to see a four star sushi restaurant in North Bend! We had sushi at a very expensive restaurant in Bellevue just the night before, and we hoped to erase the bad experience. We are glad we did. They have an all you can eat sushi bad for $26.95, but we don't prefer buffet style; we don't want to over eat. We ordered miso, baby octopus, and a sushi and sashimi combo plate. The rolls look great, but I really just wanted some raw fish and rice. I cannot say it's the best I've had, but it was all very good and well worth the price. We will return for the rolls. read more

We don't eat here often, as it is a bit on the expensive side; however, the food is fantastic and the staff is wonderful. I had never had sushi before I tried this restaurant and now I'm a huge fan of sushi. This site is small but cozy and welcoming. Could have been a 5 star... We walked in at 10 to 1:00 on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This was our first visit as we are not from the area and I was really excited to finally get some good sushi. We came with 2 kids under 2 years and I was really happy to see another family with kids and more to come. Takes the edge off if you're a mom! The sushi was great. We got a Smurf roll, the Captain Crunch roll and the Samantha. All very good. The Samantha has real crab and scallops on top, while very good we unfortunately got a few shells. The service was great till the restaurant filled up. It's a small place, but one server was not enough. It went from attentive service to not pretty quick. We didn't get drinks refilled at all and it took a long time to get our last roll, but the server was trying and the guys at the sushi bar were pitching in whenever they could. I'd go back in a heartbeat though. read more

Whack. Confused about all the 5 star reviews, but then I notice they have several locations. I've only been to the North Bend location and what a mistake. Spider roll has old grease taste. Salmon and yellowfin were very poorly put together, I mean falling apart bad. No finesse from these guys whatsoever. North Bend Trappers? I won't be back and it probably ruined it for the other locations as well. If you can't do your job well then find something else to do. We are used to eating a lot of sushi, a couple times a week on average. Not in this town. In North Bend we're going to stick with a burger from NB Grill or else travel down the hill or to Snoqualmie. read more

I actually enjoy the sashimi lunch which is very filling and is also reasonably priced. We have previously gone to Trappers to take advantage of the 25 percent off Happy Hour menu between 3 PM and 6 PM. Since their website still listed this Happy Hour discount, we decided to go out for sushi tonight. So we were very disappointed and surprised after receiving our bill that there was no Happy Hour discount. Our server explained that the Happy Hour had changed last Sunday. And she pointed out that the flip chart menu along the wall of our table showed the new Happy Hour menu. It seems misleading that the website has not been changed to reflect the new Happy Hour specials. In addition, the rice that was used in the sushi we ordered really was really not sticky. The sushi fell away from the rice when we picked it up with chopsticks. So we were quite disappointed with our meal tonight. read more

Waited at the sushi bar for 20 minutes trying to make eye contact with the chefs to order rolls for all you can eat and ended up walking out because they never took my order (they took orders from people who walked in after me). Won't be returning. read more

I usually love this place, but tonight we ordered take out and my Crystal Delight was anything but delightful. I got home stoked to chow down on one of the only safe rolls for a preggo to eat and it literally was just the tempura shrimp. No avocado, green leaf or cucumber. Called to complain and the punk kid on the phone tried to claim that they don't carry that roll. Which is bull because they have avocado, cucumber and green leaf to put on the other rolls we ordered. Messing up is fine but don't make up some BS excuse and tell us you'll be more careful next time. How about a refund for your crappy excuse for a roll and for pissing off a pregnant woman with cravings. Fail trappers BIG fail. read more

I have always loved Trapper's but this is my third bad experience and I'm so over it. Tonight was unforgivable. It first started with a pick up order that was missing the kids mac and cheese bites which my husband drove back to the restaurant to get after we got home and realized it was missing. This exact thing happened in one of my previous take out orders too, they don't see to have a process that double checks that a person is getting everything they paid for the first time. Then when my son went to dip the mac and cheese bite in the provided ketchup container and proceed to take a bite he started screaming at the top of his lungs it burns, I can't breathe. I thought at first maybe the temperature was hot but quickly realized the provided ketchup wasn't ketchup, it was siracha sauce!! He shook and cried going on an hour complaining his mouth was burning and he felt warm/cold flashes. The carelessness is unforgivable and my last straw with this place that I have given multiple chances to improve. When you are spending $100 on a to go meal or any meal at that you need to have higher standards! Time to shape up Trapper's, time to fix your customer service which I would have told you 2 years ago was top notch! read more

This is not my favorite place to get sushi. I wen to the one in Kent station. While my server was friendly it was the food that I was less than impressed with. The presentation of the food was lovely but the fish did not taste fresh like you would expect. While I understand that it's not your traditional sushi there still is no excuse for fish to not taste fresh. That alone is enough for me to give it one star. Love it. Fast, fresh and CHEAP! Their HH deals are amazing (Sun-Thurs) but we don't mind paying full price for their rolls. The location is a hidden gem in a shopping promenade, right across the outlet shops in North Bend. Though a chain, this place is just as good as the prime sushi joints in Seattle.
