I made a YELP account to write a review specifically for this place and to let everyone know to never step foot into this place. For one, the place is not cute and it's nothing special, for two the name of this place should be called "Discrimination At It's Finest" and for three they are ridiculously unprofessional. Exactly why they have less than 2 stars because it's what they're worth. I went with my sister her husband and I was waiting on my girlfriend and we all were dressed fairly nice nothing too extras. They let us in but they didn't let my girlfriend in because she had jeans on a button up and some white shoes mind you she's African American. My 4 friends and I showed up last night really excited to check this place out but we were turned away by a bouncer who was maybe 6 ft with a beard and a little on chubby side he was wearing a baseball cap! When we got there he immediately told my female friend to take off her flannel because he said it was "ghetto" She began to oblige but we thought he was messing around with her at least that's how his tone was initially! As we thought he was just poking fun we started having a bit of repartee at least again that's how we thought the tone of the conversation was! This guy absolutely LOST it on us! It was wild! The other bouncers that we there at first we were laughing and joking with them they got extremely quiet and serious and one of them a taller handsome black man wouldn't even look us in the eye! I have been to over 250 clubs around the world and this one is easily the worst one I have been to. Security is absolutely the worst, maybe they hire them directly out of Mens central jail or something but they couldn't be more rude or unprofessional. When I worked security and someone walked in wearing a hoodie that would be the fault of the door security and I would just inform them politely that they can't wear that hat next time they come in. The security guard at rooftop didn't do that, he went up to the guy in the middle of the dance and yelled over the music for him to take his hat off. The guy while dancing took his hat off and threw his hat on a nearby seat and kept dancing with the lady. I was thinking that's over the top but I guess the problem has been resolved and I slowly turn back to talk with my friend. Then in the corner of my eye I see the security guard run towards the guy dancing salsa and he get's in his face. I'm thinking WTF man.. the dude complied and this security guard is still on his case and this guard just breaks up the couple in the middle of their dance. Naturally the dude with the hat was pissed and I would be too. So the owner gets in the dudes face and they pull this guy into a nearby door and it turns into an unnecessary physical altercation. Overall the security is just plain hostile here, you can just feel it right when you enter. There really is no reason for them to be that hostile anyways, you are dealing with docile dancers and people who want to destress after a long week at work. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. Horrible business. They advertised free entrance before 10:30 when you RSVP, and completely switched up after we waited in line and were at the door @ 9:40. We brought a big group of friends and all of us had RSVP'd atleast a week in advance. They ended up charging us all $55 at the door and continued to rage on us when we questioned what the flyer had said. It became our fault that they had advertised free entrance before 10:30 when you rsvp but were charging 55 at the door?? They were trying to kick us out when more than half of our group were already in. The guy who was 'at the top' began yelling at us when we were calm and composed? Warning: AGGRESSIVE and Discriminatory Security Staff For the night of Saturday, June 24th: I visited treehouse and unfortunately had a highly unpleasant experience with the security staff. I feel compelled to write a review for the very first time as a warning to potential customers. During my visit, I encountered 2 security personnel who displayed aggressive behavior towards both men and women. One was a shorter, larger Mexican gentleman, approximately 5'7", and the other was a taller African American man, around 5'9". They both are disrespectful towards customers and provoked confrontations with multiple people that night. What is most shocking was their refusal to provide their names or any form of explanation for turning people away. They both work and represent the business. Their response, "We're not peace officers, so we don't have to give you our names or explain anything to you," was both unprofessional and disrespectful. I've visited many lounges/clubs in different cities and countries, and this experience was the most unprofessional and unattractive encounter. Previous comments mention an uneven ratio of men to women, this is because of their security staff causing altercations with men waiting in line and turning them away. They need to be trained on treating all their customers equally and not discriminating towards certain customers. Also, strongly advise against paying online ahead of time. This does not guarantee you access and in the unfortunate event that you encounter issues and require a refund, the staff at Treehouse will not provide any assistance with the refund (recommend: you file a claim with your bank and with the commissioners office for those of you who had similar experiences) I would like to extend my sympathies to the girl working at the ticket counter, as she seemed kind, but unfortunately works alongside individuals who lack basic respect and decency towards others. I finally was able to get in this place after some red flags telling me to never try again , the first time I came with my girl and was told no hoodie which I had a leather jacket on that had a hood on it part of the jackets style. I said ok to the bouncer and went back to the car and came back and changed my mind about freezing just cause my leather jacket had a hood. Second time I parked my vehicle in the parking area that was very close to the club and paid for parking just to get back to my vehicle and it was broken into. My girls purse with her keys and wallet etc gone smh I should have recognized the parking area was not very well lit with lights and surveillance whatsoever I wasn't the only person that had a break in and I went to the club to find out if and why there are no cameras or a attendant watching the area and I got no answer. I made a police report and never got any assistance from this treehouse club, when we paid to get in club there was no receipt given after paying $30 a head to get in plus 15 bucks parking and also paid 17 dollars for two small cans of modello. We asked for at least a text receipt the girl was super rude about it. I personally have never been f'd over like this in my life over trying to check out a new club , I should have listened to my gut feeling and even after reading the reviews I should have never set foot in this place I really wish would have never gave this place any attention I was only there for two hours max and just wanted to check out the venue never again will return . We arrive with our party of 4, and everyone is accepted inside except myself, who is wearing black/red sneakers. (For sneaker conossiiours, I was wearing the "Bred" Jordan 11s) They said my sneakers had too many colors in them. At first i thought he was joking, as my shoe is 90% black with a little red, but I said, "okay. Rules are rules, we will leave" (after standing in line for 50 minutes). I bought 4 presale tickets for this past weekend to celebrate a birthday. Our party shows up before 12am and waits in line for about an hour. Security had stopped both lines and was taunting the crowd waiting outside. The excuse that was given was that they had reached capacity, yet they unfairly let their own friends and their own circle inside. Security and staff made rude comments, and berated guests waiting in line and offered entrance to anyone who would buy 2 tables for $800. Long story short, we all left without getting in, and so did tens of other people, who didn't want to waste their night. Lost $30 bucks but learned my lesson, they'll make you wait til the last minute to fulfill your ticket. This place has really gone downhill in the past few months with terrible security, crappy policy and no regard for their guests. I once recommended this club but I'll be telling all my friends to look elsewhere. Conga Room is a bit more pricey but you'll get treated right. Well we didn't even get in because I had a friend visiting from Mexico and they wouldn't take her Mexican passport as an ID because they have had pickpockets and they have concluded it must be the foreign people pick pocketing. This actually came out of their mouth as an explanation! Talk about discrimination. I get them enforcing dress code, not letting you in if you don't fit their "vibe" etc... but literally saying they won't take an international form of identification is ridiculous.
