We moved Labor Day weekend. We hired Trek Movers on the recommendation of a friend. They overpromised, their truck wasn't big enough, and they scratched all of our custom art and our daughter's crib. They were apparently not wrapped at all (like we discussed) and they were just shoved between boxes. It was like pulling teeth getting them to call us back, and the last we heard from them was over a week ago saying "they would get back to us immediately." They never did, so we're forced to call them out here. Additionally, there seemed to be a disconnect with the office that confirmed the move and the movers that showed up. We discussed a few pieces of furniture that would need to be hoisted from a 2nd floor window and your office said no problem. When their crew of 3 guys showed up they were not aware of this, and insisted that a 4th man be added to the job (at additional money). We, of course, agreed to this, thinking it would make things move faster. But it took them almost 7 hours to pack our house, even though everything was boxed up (except for our clothes that needed to be packed in your wardrobe boxes). In total, it took the crew of 4 over ELEVEN hours to move. I'm not sure where the disconnect was? We spent $2,940 in total on the move, which was about double of what we expected to pay. read more

There was a little hiccup before my move related to a form I needed from them to submit to my new building, but that was quickly sorted out and they took accountability for everything without any additional charge for me so I'm very appreciate of that. Tamerlan and his helper showed up bright and early and were incredibly efficient! They took very good care of my belongings, especially those requiring extra TLC like electronics and mirrors which I greatly appreciate. Everything went really smooth from start to finish. IF YOU ARE A WOMAN & A PERSON OF COLOR DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I WAS SEXUALLY AND RACIALLY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. I had a horrible experience with Trek Movers. The only reason I chose to go with them is because 2 friends of mine recommended their services. Their experiences & mine differ b/c we had different movers within the same company. I was moving from a 525 sq ft studio apartment into a 1 bedroom apartment 7 minutes down the road. To save time & money I pre moved 50% of my belongings. The items that remained in my studio apartment were a queen-sized bed, a dresser, 2 nightstands, a coffee table, & a couch. Smaller items were prepacked & ready at the door. I even took the liberty upon myself to load up the wardrobe boxes that they provided. When the movers came they immediately estimated the move to take at least 6 hours. Why would a move from a half-full studio apartment to a 1 bedroom apartment take at least 6 hours? I could tell right away from the snail pace the movers were using while even inspecting my place, making me sign extra paperwork, & moving my belongings they were milking the clock. I was being taken advantage of even after telling the movers that my time & money were limited because my car had just been stolen & I had to get a new one just a couple of weeks before this move. Moving alone is stressful but the car theft and having now to buy a new one just added to it. That was not a concern for them at all. They just asked did I want to cancel. Thats it. They knew legally I had to be out of this studio apartment so I had to proceed. All I had was 1 of my female friends there & from the treatment I was receiving from the movers, I felt that I needed to call on some of my male friends to see if that would help change the situation. I knew I was being SEXUALLY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. Once the men came the movers started to pick up their pace substantially until they disappeared on us. Yes, they disappeared & it happened twice. No this was not for a break. The first disappearance happened top of the move. I felt the need to wait by the truck while the move was happening to make sure no one stole my belongings. The truck was completely open and unsupervised until I got there. I now had 4 friends helping the move & they couldn't find the movers either. Once we found them my friends continued to outpace the hired movers. But the movers took up the time where they could & loading up a half-filled apartment with the items mentioned took 4 HOURS. Mind you I lived on the 3rd floor in a complex of about 60 units. When we got to the new apartment 7 minutes away the movers drove past my new place & went missing for another 10 minutes. They claimed that the truck they were in couldn't turn on the street I live on which is a major 4 lane street. How does that make sense? They finally arrived & demanded payment from me before unloading my belongings. Also, my male friends had to go so the mover's energy went back to a snail's pace. Why are they asking for money when the move isn't complete? I immediately called the office of Trek Movers & they were unsure of how to answer my question & asked to call me back. The movers said it was their policy. After speaking with the movers on a separate call, the woman from the office called back & stated that it was their policy. Flabbergasted by all of this but also needing my stuff to be moved I paid the movers the $800 I had in cash and sent the $94 to the mover's Zelle account. Zelle makes you do a double confirmation to make sure you send to the right person & I checked with him every step of this payment. He continued with the move & came back to me saying "I need you to Zelle me again b/c you may have canceled the payment." What??? You demand money from me before the move is even complete (mind you both of my friends who have used this company paid at the end of their moves) & now you are accusing me of fraudulent behavior? I am the daughter of a judge & a principal. I wouldn't dare do such a thing. So now I am being RACIALLY DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. After the move was complete I called to complain & I was told it was an unwritten policy. I have never heard of an unwritten policy in all of my years of living. Then after a couple of days, the company calls back saying it is written in their policy. How did that suddenly happen I wonder? Once the movers got to their 6-hour mark - which was the goal for them the entire time - the leader of the two movers came back asking for more money. When it was all over I called the company to complain & at the end of it they offered me $100 if I signed a settlement letter specifically telling me not to write a review. To silence me from speaking up about my experience - although on the phone they told me they weren't trying to silence me. That's why there aren't any bad reviews b/c of these settlement letters. The pre-move process. They were very clear on prices, expectations around the move itself, and clearly documented conversations all through a simple website. They responded quickly to my questions or concerns. As we started to prepare for the move, they even guided me on whether I should add another person and NOT add another truck (saving me some costs). 2. On Move day, admittedly, I had a daunting task (and learned that we've been borderline hoarders over the years). While most of the home was packed, we still had a mostly untouched kitchen. Between bulky items and the boxes, the team worked hard and fast to load up, playing Tetris along the way to make everything fit (my biggest fear!). They moved quickly, nothing was damaged, and when it came time to pack the kitchen, the entire team helped turn that around fast and safe so we could be on the road. In the end, got everything to our new home with no big hiccups after a long day. Trek to the rescue!! On moving day I found myself in a terrible spot. I had used an app called Dolly the driver was an hour late and then decided 1/4 of the way through packing my boxes he didn't want to do the move because it was too much stuff. He canceled my move and all of my boxes and furniture were sitting in the hallway. I was completely screwed and I was in need of help IMMEDIATELY. I found Trek on yelp and I really liked their friendly look. I called and got a live person right away. This matters when you are having an emergency. They were was super friendly and felt really bad for what I was going through and did everything they could to find an available crew. Fortunately Trek had 2 guys Vladimir and Sergey! They saved my life! They had the guys dispatched by 330pm same day! They stayed in good communication and dispatch let me know ETA. I have some large awkward metal furniture that the guys tools extra care with and shrink wrapped them! Such good care! And smart packing of my smaller items into other wardrobe boxes. Vladimir n Sergey were friendly and efficient. They even dealt w Saturday night traffic! Ugh. I had a lot of stuff but they got it all done and worked hard into the night! In the past year or two, I've moved 6 times, 2 of them being commercial offices. Needless to say, I've had my fair share of experiences with moving. These guys were by far the least professional, least honest and downright, just crooks! They broke my 75" 8k samsung TV, dropped a turntable right in front of me, and broke numerous other furniture which they til this day refuse to take responsibility for. The movers were also the slowest I've ever worked with. When I asked them if they could move a little faster, one of the guys pointed to a box and told me it would be faster if I moved the boxes. When I showed them the damages that they made and asked to be reimbursed for it, first they said, "Do you want me to come to your house?" Which definitely sounded like a threat, and when I told them I plan on taking them to court, they simply blocked my number and still haven't reached out or returned any of my emails. There's TON of moving companies to choose from. I don't know how they got these other high rated reviews, but knowing that they are capable of taking these type of actions, why would u want to work with them? Don't take the chance. DO NOT USE TREK MOVERS! I was scammed. I was originally quoted by Trek 3 hours at $149/hr for my move. My apartment was all packed up in boxes, save for the large furniture, and ready to go when the movers arrived. They were set to come at 9am and move me two miles into a storage unit. I scheduled cleaners to come at 2pm. When a couple of hours had passed and they were still loading the truck, I asked if we were still on track to be done on time. I was then told by the movers that it would be closer to 6 hours. I was surprised, but figured I had a large one bedroom and agreed. I moved back my cleaners. All-in-all the move took 9 HOURS FOR A 700 sq APARTMENT AND I WAS CHARGED $1500. $1500 to move 2 miles!! When I called to complain, they told me I had too much stuff. I'm sad to see these bad reviews because this is my second time using Trek Movers and they've been great both times. Our crew--Argen, Tim and Roman, led by Anton--were efficient, polite, and took good care of our things. Everything was wrapped properly, nothing damaged as far as I could tell. They were punctual and worked from day into the evening to get everything done. My only criticism is more about the evaluation--we knew we had a LOT of stuff, and I actually called their offices to make sure they understood how much stuff we had as I was worried one truck would not be enough, but I was assured that it usually is fine and because mine was a local move, that it would be cheaper if they had to do two trips than to pay for a second truck if it ended up not being needed. Well the move took 10 hours, and since it was paid by the hour, this really added up. Overall the price was about as I expected so thats not so much the issue, but I do wonder if it would have been faster/cheaper to just have two trucks to begin with like I had thought. I will say that the scheduler/coordinator is always very polite and helpful, and readily available--I've never had an issue getting in touch with a live person. I will also add that if we had not needed to do two trips, the time it would take for a 3-bd apt would be approximately 3-4 hours, as they quoted. Overall, I would definitely use Trek movers again. BEWARE!!! I chose Trek because of the great reviews, even though it was the more expensive option. I used them this past month for packing and loading services. Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience. And as a note: I've moved many times, moving is really hard on your stuff - don't expect things to arrive without scratches and bumps. However, there is certainly a standard to be met by good movers and Trek failed to meet it. The good: - They were very responsive throughout the booking process and very helpful in figuring out what type of services I needed and how large of a team The bad: - We were the first job of the day scheduled to start between 8-9, but the movers were 45 minutes late. But it's LA traffic, no big deal in the scheme of things. - I talked to George throughout the booking process and we discussed how I would provide a bunch of the moving supplies (boxes, wrap, etc.) but that the crew would have everything we could need for purchase in case I didn't have enough or the right supplies. The crew called me before I left and I reconfirmed this with them. Unfortunately the crew arrived with barely any supplies - they ran out of tape and they packed 7-9 boxes that were not taped shut and were crushed in the pod since they weren't properly sealed. - The contract clearly states that they will wrap all upholstered furniture. But they didn't. - Liquids were thrown loose into a box and spilled and damaged several items. - The crew lost hardware for furniture that was disassembled, i found several screws and bolts after they left luckily but some of it has not been recovered. - We have 10 month old twins. Their cribs are soft wood. They were not wrapped at all and not deconstructed. One of the main beams split on one of the cribs and it is not safe to use anymore and we will have to get a new one. Both cribs are heavily scratched. I mentioned while they were packing that they could be disassembled and I was nervous about hwo they were being handled. Just so brutal to not have a place for your kid to sleep after a long and difficult move - The crew missed several shelves in the kitchen that they were responsible for packing. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt throughout. I reached out to them to share my experience before posting a review. Ray, the customer service manager strung me along for a week. At first I was really encouraged because he was very communicative and empathetic, but ultimately when he was supposed to call me to give me a final update on how they would handle, i was told he was running late but then he just didn't call me and then over 24 hours later sent an email. They ultimately completely shirked responsibility and essentially called me a liar despite providing pictures. As a side note, I'm now mistakenly receiving texts from them confirming a move for another individual for some reason--this place is a mess. I would avoid. Maybe they do a better job when they are handling end to end moves, but I think this experience speaks a lot to how things are run. read more

Decided to try another moving company to move back to my newly rebuilt home. Went with Trek with all the high ratings on Yelp. Most of my things were boxed and stored in the garage at the home I temporarily moved to during the remodel. Furniture to move was limited to a queen bed, 2 nightstands, dresser, couch, dining room table, 6 chairs, leather recliner 2 end tables and a couch table. I bought the Yelp deal $20 for $50. The distance to my new home was about 6 miles so there was no per mileage charge. Yuri was the lead with 2 movers. For the majority of the time Yuri was talking on his headset throughout the entire move. They're not very careful in setting up furniture. I noticed one of the dresser stand protectors wasn't attached to the foot of the dresser. Also one of the end tables, the glass protector to the stand was missing on one of the corners. So the glass top was unstable. It was a bit of a challenge to communicate to two of the movers since they didn't understand much English. More attention and care could've been provided during the move if the lead Yuri wasn't on his phone for the majority of the move. I provided the crew with sub sandwiches and also tipped them. read more

I chose Trek movers because of the wonderful reviews here on Yelp. We moved on a Sunday and the process was smooth and fast. We hired them to pack and move us and paid hourly. The work was done quickly and the crew did a wonderful job. They took the time to pack as carefully as can be and were very quick. The packing and moving experience was seamless. I struggled with whether or not to post this, but I think it is fair to disclose and it may not be something that is specific to Trek movers. The reason for the two star review is because our engagement ring went missing during the packing and moving process. I kept it on a single ring holder and neglected to pack it away ahead of time (my bad). After the move, we unpacked and I realized that the ring stand showed up without the ring in the box. we unpacked every box it could have been in and checked multiple times. I also had my husband check independently. I finally called the company and asked to speak to the foreman, who was very kind and sympathetic. I asked whether there was any possibility the ring was packed away separately and carefully, and if could ask the gentleman who packed that room. He did and got back to me saying that neither of them remember a ring on the holder. Oh well. I know that there is no way to prove where the ring is now, and I recognize that this is not specific to Trek Movers. I also know that I will probably never see that ring again. These things happen. We highly recommend Trek Movers to anyone looking for a locally owned and professionally run moving company. We hired Trek for our house move from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The kindness and responsiveness I experienced with them in every interaction on the phone, in emails and in person was a relief during a very stressful situation. Our team of movers were incredibly hard working and patient with filling the truck with several objects that weren't square and organically shaped as well as some heavy workshop machinery from our garage that don't make packing a truck easy. Roman, Alex, George and Valeri were an amazing team working with us and with each other. It was a looooong day of loading even though we had packed most all but our furniture and plants previously. They took appropriate breaks and were as organized as possible amid the chaos of all our stuff. It turns out that not all our items were able to be loaded on to a single truck and the company immediately made accommodations for a second truck to be partially loaded without additional charge to the original quote. It was a huge relief to know we weren't going to be charged more and they really did the best that could be expected in a situation where our items and square footage were underestimated. As expected, the unloading went much quicker but the Trek team worked in 100' heat and kept a strong pace regardless. I hope not to move again for many years but Trek would be the first I would call for a more personable and professional moving experience that the large corporate Van lines cannot offer. read more

As far as movers go, Michael and Ilia were a delight to work with. They were very polite, generous and hard workers. They were working nonstop and as fast as they could while taking good care of my belongings. I would request them by name. NOTE: Negotiate price and don't hold back. I would strongly urge customers to negotiate pricing with the office as I felt taken advantage of when they used an unplanned phone call as a verbal agreement against me. I was quoted for one price six months ago, and they refused to offer it because "I already made a verbal agreement" over a phone call. Keep in mind I am a return customer using them for the fourth time. However, it is clear that the office is all about the profit and not so much customer retention. I was made to believe that they're pricing was "standard industry pricing", until I found other award winning movers charged HALF the price. This mistake cost me ~$700. In summary, don't operate on trust/faith that being a return customer would mean anything (except for 5% discount). I learned the expensive way. read more

There were also plenty of reminders sent to me via email and text in the days leading up to our move that let me know that these folks were serious, honest, and accountable. We needed full service packing, and they did a fabulous job - thorough, efficient, and careful with our things. Not a single damaged or missing item in the entire lot of our household goods, and that's no small feat, especially with all of the dishes and kitchen items I lug around every place we've lived like some kind of obsessed foodie. I can't fathom having to do all of the packing on my own anymore, and even though it's a comprehensive service, the price quoted to us was fair, honest, and worth every penny for the peace of mind it brought my husband and I to be helped throughout the process. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY ARE NOT INSURED!! I came across Trek Movers in researching companies for our upcoming move. Due to prior bad experience, I always check with insurance carriers before I contact the movers. I called all reported insurance carriers listed on the Trek Movers website and they only have an active Cargo Policy. The Commercial General Liability Insurance and PL/PD Insurance carriers have no record of ever providing coverage for this company and have stated that these policy numbers DO NOT EXIST!! The Worker's Comp policy # is active but DOES NOT BELONG TO TREK MOVERS! It is registered to a different business entirely. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! ANY DAMAGES THAT OCCUR TO YOUR HOME OR BELONGINGS BY THEIR STAFF, OUTSIDE OF ACTIVE TRANSPORT, WILL NOT BE COVERED! 02/12/2020 10:50AM UPDATE Apparently the business manager, Joe T., thinks it appropriate business practices for calling out potential customers as being frauds. Really nice. I do not have to explain why I have a new yelp account. My reasons are my own. I have (i) never previously spoken to/interacted with Joe T. or anyone else from this company, (ii) no desire to ever contact them for further explanation, and (iii) no knowledge of any fraudulent damage claim - also if they only denied whatever this claim was within the past 48hrs, why has he been expecting a negative review for the past month?!? Pretty shady.... Surprised as he may be that the "owners would publish such false credentials" the fact stands that neither State Farm nor United Specialty Insurance Company have any record of their policies. In fact, per the insurance agents, these numbers don't even follow the very specific pattern of letters and numbers that make up their usual policy #s.
