Dean and the other staff members were very professional, polite and attentive to our table of 16 guys. We're all neighbors at Frisco Lakes, we have lunch together once a month. ALL of our orders came out fresh, hot and at the same time. Our service was great, never had to request refills, they filled them every opportunity. Food is good, service is lacking. We waited 15 mins for our drinks and my husband went to get them bc they had been sitting on the bar melting. He wasn't allowed to take them bc they needed garnish. Our waitress was in a hurry bc she took our order while we waited on drinks. We got them when our food arrived. While we were eating, she asked if we wanted dessert. Restaurant was not busy. We ordered our second drink bc we did not want dessert with our food. It took another 15 mins to get our second drink. Will not be back. Very disappointed. read more

The service was excellent but the food was kind of bland... my wife ordered the crawfish but had no flavor to it. So we asked for extra season on the side. This help a little but the flavor was not inside the shell of crawfish that we were custom too. I had the fish and chips. That was ok. We tried the fried green tomatoes & they were MUSHY! The remoulade sauce on top had ZERO taste. We had the cracklin' & that was pretty good. Next, we tried the shrimp po-boy. The bread was THICK. It came with exactly FIVE shrimp. It came with tomatoes, lettuce, ONIONS (whatttt?!) & pickles. We were highly disappointed. We also had the catfish & shrimp platter. The fish was OK but EVERYTHING else was blah! Oh and the "Hurricane" drink was a mango-y, grapefruit-y daiquiri. There were not alot off ppl there & the service was 2 out of 5. This establishment is not prepared for busy days. If there is a wait, I highly recommend going elsewhere. We went for Fat Tuesday, our wait was about an hour. The website hyped Fat Tuesday up so much that the experience was highly disappointing. The "live band" was a single guitarist singing slow tunes. Not what you expect for Mardi Gras. Once we were seated we ordered drinks. 35 mins passed and we tried really hard to flag down our waitress. I understand completely when it's a busy night but this was absolutely ridiculous. The waitress said the bartender forgot so she had them make ours on the fly. My husband got his drink 5 mins later and I did not get mine. He finished his drink while I waited for mine. To say it takes an hour to get a drink is where I can't give this establishment high stars. As a person in the service industry, I would have comped the drink. Nope. Got charged for it. The food came out cold so you know it sat in the QA line for quite a bit. My husband and I didn't need to talk to a manager honestly. It was clear the waitress did not care about our experience or wanted to make it right. Won't be coming here again because customer service lacks. read more

Usually love coming to this place for seafood however there have been several instances where my family and I have received some form of food-borne illness after consuming their seafood. I had the crawfish etouffee this past week and I have had stomach flu-like symptoms ever since. Some of the worst food poisoning I've ever received and I have a stomach of steel. Went for the first and last time at the Star. Great location but the food was awful. One plate the fish was raw bloody red, the other blackened was burnt and overcooked. I seriously wish this review were 5 stars. I was super excited about visiting this location at the Star. Completely mediocre food/service. Saturday for lunch seemed super slow with only 4 other tables sat...and it still took 45 mins for one app, 2 salads and a cup of gumbo. Salads were soggy and gumbo cold with undercooked rice. A party of 3 and no one finished their plate. Our server was busy with friends in a corner booth but seemed to look up every once and a while to refill drinks..which was great. We didn't sit at the bar as usual, but from looking at the bar from our high top, the bartender was chowing down on fries. I guess we should have ordered those. $80 bill not worth it. This location has so much potential..I hope they get through the growing pains! read more

Food is only mediocre at best. Waitstaff unfamiliar with menu items, spent more time visiting with coworkers than attending patrons. Took 20 minutes to receive drink order. After ordering entree took in excess of an hour to receive food and order was incorrect had to wait another 8-10 minutes for the correct food. After being in restaurant an hour and a half was approached member and told we needed to hurry and finish in 15 minutes as there was someone waiting for our table. I have traveled extensively and dined in restaurants worldwide, many much busier than this, and NEVER have been asked to experienced such overall poor service! read more

We've gone there 4 times in the last 3 months. The restaurant has not disappointed. I've had the catfish and shrimp platter that was outstanding. Others have had the fried oyster club, shrimp tacos and red snapper. All of these dishes were absolutely delicious. Would recommend to everyone. The service was outstanding as well. read more

Nice service but Food was meh at best. Additionally, Entrees were luke warm. One chicken entree was incorrect and politely sent back. So happy Trick Fish came to Frisco! Very good lunch spot although I have never eaten here for dinner. The sandwiches are very good with the blackened chicken and the Nashville hot chicken being my favorites. The fried oyster blt is very good also. The portion sizes are good and the prices are very reasonable in todays economic environment. I have never had bad service in the many times I have been to the Richardson location and I would expect the same for Frisco. read more

Came here with my wife to try out this place since my friend told me about it being new and a good place to get some drinks with a nice dinner. We sat at the bar and the gentleman taking care of us seemed very disinterested and was almost bothered by us being there. We got our first round of drinks but they sat empty for close to 10 minutes when we finished them before he even asked if we enjoyed them. We proceeded to order another round of drinks which took another 10-15 minutes. We ended up having to ask him if we could order,since he didn't care to offer us food.The food was delicious when we finally got to order it, but the experience was tarnished by the lack of hospitality from this bartender. Ill give this place another try and maybe avoid sitting at the bar just because the food was very delicious and drinks were reasonably priced.
