I went for a lunch meeting today and I couldn't be more pleased. I got the herbed butter- loaded mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables with blackened catfish. The fish was perfectly seasoned with a dollop of herbed butter on top. The mash was super creamy, cheesy and had crisp bacon. I will absolutely be back soon. If you're looking for good fish and chips, like British or Australian style good, this is a good one. Also, deep fried oysters were yummy too. The restaurant isn't overly atmospheric (hence 4 star). Yeah hate to write this but the whole family said this was a one and done for sure. Service was super but the food was overall not good. Grouper special was bad, bad. Took one bite and knew I made a bad choice. Son's burger tasted frozen with a super thick bun. The other dishes were not great either. Lots of better options at The Star. read more

Food is very good. LOVE the fried okra made differently than you'd expect. The restaurant was loud. So loud it was uncomfortable. Couldn't hear people at our own table. Well it was not a good visit. After 40 minutes the only items that were delivered to the table were our boudin balls ( they clearly have never consumed boudin and know what it tastes like) and fried green tomato appetizer. Tried this place and let me tell you the food is average! Service was the worst I've had in a longtime! If your trying to generate business I suggest you start with the people you hire and make sure they go above and beyond to make people feel welcomed! The bar staff is horrible hence why the bar was dead! Guy bartender stood behind the bar on his phone so unprofessional, if he wasn't on his phone is wasn't behind the bar, what a joke he is! Casual but very loud atmosphere. On the whole, food was average. Gumbo was decent but lacked any real character or spice. The Darn Good Salad did not match the menu's description and was quite dry. My wife had to order additional dressing. Fish and Chips were good but very few fries were offered. Cole slaw was fairly bland. We ordered a French toast sundae bread pudding for dessert. Visited the Frisco location for lunch yesterday with my daughter, The food was exceptional. I am half Cajun and love that kind of food. We shared a "fish of the day" special - Mahi Mahi blackened with a warm wilted spinach salad. Fish was very fresh and the wilted spinach was barely wilted -which it should be -with a wonderful warm dressing. Being Cajun we had to try the dirty rice and the Kitchen Sink Gumbo. Both were great but I would rate the dirty rice higher. The seasoning was spot on. Just enough cayenne and no file' powder. I will definitely be back to sample other items. read more

I gave this place a try based on previous review, but I was highly disappointed. Although I haven't tasted the entire menu, I could tell you with certainty to stay away from the "Kitchen Sink Gumbo" and the "Shrimp Étouffée". The Gumbo was absolutely disgusting. It is a very heavy and dark cream that tasted more like soy sauce. I just can't imagine how anyone would taste that gumbo and think it is good enough to serve at a restaurant, let alone charge for it. It definitely doesn't taste like any gumbo I've ever had before- either in Texas or Louisiana. The Shrimp Étouffée has an aftertaste like it came out of a frozen bag. It was Just horrible. The fried fish and fried shrimp was surprisingly good. I wished we had just ordered this dish alone and not venture out to the other stuff. This is the only reason for giving this restaurant a 3 star. read more

My husband had fried shrimp and fries The crab sandwich was large with two fried soft shell crabs. It had pickles, sauce, and coleslaw. It was fresh and good. I could only eat half. The coleslaw was good and not too sweet. The fried shrimp were medium sized and very good. The fries were brought out after the rest of the food, and the were hot, fresh and delicious with the crispy exterior and yummy interior.
