So much fun. Went to get the famous Shark Attack drink. So much fun. The drink was delicious.

Stopped in for a granade. They are a bourbon st staple but eh not my style. The zidaco music was good though!

Had to try my first Hand Grenade, an item I was informed of multiple times leading up to my first visit to NOLA! Tropical Isle was the place to go for this drink, and it did notttt disappoint. Bartender was hilarious and welcoming, also serving us when we came back in for a refill (15 minutes later, since 4 of us decided one hand grenade would be enough for us at the time.) Inside is colorful and there's live music! Also saw a photobooth tucked in the corner behind a table, and managed to squeeze the group in for a $5 photo strip. Worth it.

I understand the hype on this cocktail. It's tasty and strong. Got really chill laid back vibes. Service was also fast. Keep the cup for a cheaper refill at all locations.

Tropical Isle was a blast! Before coming to New Orleans, it was recommended to me by co-workers, and it surely did not disappoint! The first afternoon I went, they had a great deal on their IPA, which I had never heard of but tasted great! I met a lot of cool people and interesting characters as well, to include a couple making out right next to me. Usually I wouldn't have been into this kind of behavior, but I was in New Orleans on vacation, so I guess it kind of comes with the territory. Lol. The second night I went, I opted for the infamous Hand Grenades, which were pretty good, but did mess my stomach up a little bit, so I quit after two. However, they had an awesome live band, which played some songs that I hadn't heard in bars in years. Finally, I loved the vibe and atmosphere - it completely leaned into the craziness of New Orleans. 5/5, must stop by if in The Big Easy!

The Hand Grenade at Tropical Isle deserves its own Wikipedia page. NOLA changed my life and this drink absolutely played a role. It is ice cold dangerously smooth and way stronger than it tastes which is honestly rude. The neon green color the massive souvenir cup and the loud fun music immediately put you in vacation mode. The place is sticky loud a little grimy and exactly what New Orleans should feel like. My friend always orders the Shark Attack which means extra ice and that whistle going off like we are at a sporting event while I stay loyal to the Hand Grenade. After three the giggle fest usually starts which feels like a required milestone not a warning sign. This is not just a drink it is part of the full NOLA experience. If you come to New Orleans and do not have a Hand Grenade at Tropical Isle did you even go!!

Jay was super amazing. It was super kind to me at the door. Most places I go to are terrible to me when the security checks my idea but I really appreciate it. How kind and cordial Jay wasn't made me feel very welcome into the spot.

A great bar with a fun vibe! The bartender, Tim was uber-friendly and the "Hand Grenade" drink will put you on your butt if you're not careful! A great time....

Fun bar! I ordered the skinny hand grenade which was good but still super sweet tasting. My friends shark attack and horny gator were less sweet (but also twice the price). The shark attack was fun because the bartender rings a bell and makes a show of putting the shark in the drink!

Deceivingly small when you enter. The bar, the live entertainment stage, it seems like there is not much going on here. Go upstairs and enter a new world. There is another large bar up there, an air hockey table, and more. The best part is the view outside overlooking Bourbon Street. Food? Do they even have any here? They are known for their "Shark Attack" and "Hand Grenade" drinks. I believe, I chose unwisely with the Shark Attack. Yes, they do a fun thing at the bar - including throwing crushed ice into the room - when it is ordered but, wow, not a match for my taste.

Ended up on bourbon street and decided to stumble into tropical isle to grab a drink as we continued to people watch. The security guard was very friendly and the drinks were very strong. The place itself has a very cool electric tropical vibe with all the neon lights and timey collections of things hanging from the walls. It's actually pretty neat, they have a bunch of Knick knacks and photos all over haha. Note: they don't take Apple or google pay!

Another spot NOLA spot I was happy to visit again. The hand grenades are still delicious and strong. Definitely something everyone that comes to Nola should experience if you're 21 and older.

Charged and tipped extra on my card

Hand grenade was great! However I will not be returning here due to employee integrity , the bartender charged my card for TWO drinks and tipped herself an extra $10 on MY CARD once I left even though cash was left. When all was said and done I paid $38 for 1 grenade and I can't get my refund. Never again only use cash !!!

Drink called HAND-GRENADE..... this is apparently a must to get on Bourbon Street!

The Hand Grenades at this place are lethal. The vibe here is very cool and the service was great. I'd definitely return.

Typical grimy dive bar. Cheap drinks and decent views from the balcony, but lots of smoking.

I do believe the establishment itself is! The first floor is street level so you could just come in. I thought I saw an elevator to go up to the second floor. ( lots of drinking) There are also bathrooms on the first floor. The hallway may be a… Read more

Whether sitting at the bar, or in one of the many lounge chairs on the opposite wall, every seat is an excellent. While I knew of the drink French 75, on the bar menu it was offered with either gin or cognac. I decided to try the cognac and so glad I did. Perfectly delicious! It turns out that drink is actually a French 125, so I learned something new that night. Great spot with a great vibe.

The Sazerac Bar at the The Roosevelt New Orleans prepares an outstanding Sazerac cocktail, as you…read morewould expect. While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.
