Unfortunately, out of all the Tropical Smoothie Cafes from TN to FL, this has been the worse experience. The only bright light was that it was located in a popular area. From the manager, to the server, to the cashier, I was appalled by the service given. If I was secretly shopping this store for corporate, this would be a failing grade. This store location was night and day from the location on St. Augustine Rd. That location had A greeting with a smile, they took the time to get my order correct and even wished me well. This Oakleaf stores cashier was on the phone texting in plain sight as I waited in the store for over 3 minutes. The actual server who created my smoothie and order had to remind her to get off the phone. I had no greeting, no smile and no one wanted to take my order. The shift lead also didn't follow procedure of taking the correct discount receipt, and handing back the original. He quickly threw it in the trash and said I couldn't have it back. That's not how you handle a traveling customer who needed that receipt for business expenses. Unfortunately, this store needs heavy improvement and corporate will be notified. read more

The place is clean and the smoothie was good. My issue was customer service. I come in at 9:30 am and I am the only customer in the store. I see at least 4 employees and I am ignored. I ask where do I order and the employees continue working and talking to each other and ignore me. Another person enters and they go over and I make eye contact and say my order. I was holding onto my one year old daughter so having to wait for them to stop talking to take my order was annoying. a customer should be greeted within 30 seconds of entering the store. I shouldn't have had to wait a few minutes for my order to be taken if they have zero drinks being made and zero to go orders up. My order was made promos once I did. Our local Tropical Smoothie is our favorite, though it's small and parking is sometimes a bit tricky in the busy spot. Sandwiches and salads aren't as flavorful as I'd like in order to come in for those. But we're big fans of their smoothies, with Chocolate Chimp being my kids favorite and Health Nut being mine. I make it a bit healthier by leaving out the sweetener, though Splenda or traditional are both available. One thing I really appreciate is their involvement in our community, as well as their work with Camp Sunshine. Each year on National Flip Flop Day, free smoothies are given out and donations collected. This year, they were even willing to customize one of ours because of an allergy. That's considering it has banana,pineapple and coconut. The detox island smoothie was very sour and had no flavor to it. The customer service was also very poor. As I walked in I wasn't greeted and the associates looked very miserable and were busy doing nothing. I didn't check my order before I left (my fault), and got home and didn't get my side. I'm here again today and just ordered and let them know about last night. My smoothie which was supposed to be a "bahama mama" smoothie tasted just like a regular strawberry smoothie as if they didn't add the other ingredients. Customer service is horrible everytime. They will stand there staring at you until you start ordering. They don't say like "hi welcome, what would you like?" No they stand there like yep I'm here. No one comes out and checks on them. Tv is always something not family friendly. Last time there was NO tv on and was on the intercom playing wrestling. REALLY? 5 teenagers... Yes teenagers which they ALL ARE we're on the floor and it still took 15mins to get 3 meals and 3 smoothies. And guess what... It was all wrong and gross. I told there review on there FB page. The manager contacted me and told me she took care of the problem to promise to come back and to have a better experience. Um my family and I did. And nothing changed and nothing will ever change. The Tropical Smoothie Cafe located on Applecross Road near Oakleaf is absolutely horrible. I eat at several locations and their food does not taste anything like any other tropical smoothie. The smoothies are always watered down so you can't taste the flavors and they put bare minimum on your sandwich. They barely put any sauce on them at all so all you taste is dry bread and meat and my sandwich comes with bacon that I usually order they have the nerve not to put any bacon on there at all most times. Came home from work last night. The wife texted me "I'm hungry!" I suggested Chick Fil A, but she wanted to go here on account of our recent visits to the Middleburg location, which I added and submitted to Yelp, but for some reason I can't find it. I entered that location's contract information twice and no luck. But I digress. I went here when I moved down before my family. Went again today, there was a strange smell that hit our noses upon entering. It mind smelled like dirty, wet, rags, the kind used to wipe down the booths in the restaurant. Yuck!!! We get to the register. The manager greets us promptly, which is a plus. He had one of the other employees take our order because he had a telephone order. The wife got a vegetable hummus wrap with an island green smoothie. I had the Jamaican jerk chicken wrap with a pomegranate plunge smoothie. The similarities between this location and the one in Middleburg end right there. Now y'all recollect what the wife and I ordered. Our order was supposed to be $21, but somehow it mysteriously was $28! We didn't how that could be since this Tropical Smoothie and the Tropical Smoothie in Middleburg are supposed to be post of the same company and thus, have the same prices. My wife, who went to this location just the other day, told the girl to remove our smoothies from our order. That's when the girl "realized" that she "accidentally added" another item to our order, bringing it to the grand total of $28! Makes me wonder if we didn't pay attention, if she would've taken the extra item off on her own, or maybe she would've kept the money for herself. Also, the girl never mentioned or asked me what side I wanted with my wrap. It was supposed to be a choice of chips or fruit. Again, in Middleburg we had the same choices except there your fruit was an assorted fruit cup. That's kind of what I was in the mood for today although I usually get Cool Ranch Doritos there. This location didn't have any so I elected to go for the fruit. The manager asked me if I wanted banana or orange. Confused for a second, I said orange thinking sand hoping I was gonna get a fruit cup with oranges, tangerines, etc. No! I got a big fat orange! I said to my wife, "What am I gonna do with this?!" She just started laughing. In any event, we get home, I start eating my jerk chicken wrap, and I kid you not, it smelled a little like it was slightly spoiled! The jerk chicken wrap in Middleburg NEVER smelled like that.
