Have been to True Food a bajillion times, it's probably one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I love healthy eating and I'm vegetarian so it's wonderful to have so many delicious options. My favorites are the Ancient Grains bowl, the spinach and mushroom pizza and the patties from the inside out quinoa burger but as the buns for the turkey burger. The food always tastes fresh and the restaurant is always clean and relaxed. I've also had the honeydew cooler and matcha lemonade, both of which were also light and fresh. Waiters are incredibly helpful and friendly. I've been here for my birthday two years in a row and they always give me a little free dessert with a candle which makes an adorable boomerang! The decor of the restaurant is beautiful, and vibe is hipster, new-age and FRESH. Love the colors, environment and people! read more

Gosh ! We had some food , had to wait for 32 minutes until they delivered two cans of beer while we were about to finish our meal . As soon as they delivered the beers we were given the bill and already rushed to leave .I can see they wanted to turn tables over and over . They looked short staffed. Delicious food always. Came here for the first time and ordered the Turkey burger. Phenomenal. Second time, came to celebrate my birthday with my brother and SIL. I got the spaghetti squash casserole, it was delicious! I make this myself at home and is equally as good!! We also ordered the vegan double burger, loads of flavor, the sweet potato tots are delicious and am blown away from the kale salad! Light lemony dressing. So light and tasty. The best for last... Korean noodle bowl. Was hesitant about it but this dish is BURSTING with so much flavor. It has a little kick to it as well. Absolutely blown away by this dish! Outstanding. Our waitress Angie was absolutely delightful as well! Very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations! For beverages we had the passion lime tea, so tasty and refreshing. Had a disappointing experience here the other night during a work dinner. We were a large group (~15) so I know to expect less than perfect service as that can be difficult, but our waitress was especially poor. It wasn't so much one large mistake, but a number of smaller instances that could have been handled much much better. When receiving our drinks, our server appeared to have someone else help handing them out but it felt like they hadn't communicated whatsoever. This helper gave me the wrong tea (that no one else had ordered) before our server brought out my drink and seemed confused why I didn't have the correct drink in front of me. Another member of our group had ordered a glass of wine and the helper brought over a glass and said some name of it, then our group member asked if it was the one he ordered (under a different name than the one the helper had said), the helper then seemed confused and asked the server, and the server said the name of the one the group member had said, and it was all very confusing and unprofessional. Later, three members of our group ordered the chicken entree. The server came back after placing the orders to let us know that they only had 1 chicken left and that we could decide who in our party got it. First of all, not having one of your main entrees at 6pm on a Tuesday when the place was nearly empty is bizarre and you'd expect to know that prior to placing the orders. Second of all, telling a large group (who is clearly not family) to decide who gets to have the one entree remaining felt incredibly unprofessional and made for an uncomfortable experience. The entrees ended up being sub-par anyways, but the service was what made the evening something we have since laughed about and gone "can you believe that?". Would not recommend for an evening with higher expectations (date night, work dinners) but maybe it's better for lunch or with different servers. read more

I visited True Food Kitchen last weekend and ordered the grass fed burger with a sweet potato hash. The service was exceptional, with kind servers who would constantly check up on us and refill our waters. The taste of the burger was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I would say the same for the sweet potato hash. My only complaint was that I ordered the burger medium rare, but it came out to be well done. I understand we had a large party and it was busy, but this seems to be an issue in a few other reviews I saw as well. Overall, the food was a bit pricey but I had a good experience here. read more

Okay I was a bit disappointed with the welcome we had when we walked in. It was a Tuesday night and the host Tay looked myself completely up and down as if I wasn't welcome to sit and enjoy my meal. I felt completely judged by her for no reason and it was not as the restaurant was busy that evening so I was confused with the such judgemental welcome we received. Luckily our server was a sweet girl who was awesome and made the rest of our experience great, but I still can't shake the such rude welcome we received before being seated and for that I have to give this restaurant a 2 out of 5 unfortunately. The atmosphere and service are both great. I would say the food is nothing spectacular in my opinion, especially for the prices. They aren't ridiculously expensive but a burger, sandwich and one lemonade was about $40. So considering the price and how the food was average, I probably won't return. Everything I've ever tried here is amazing. Sometimes it's hard to make a lunch decision because I fear that there will be "that one time" I order something and it doesn't live up to my elevated expectations for this place. But so far, so great. I've enjoyed their salads, and bowls, and tacos, and smoothies. Probably my favorite bowl is the very filling "Ancient Grains" with a lot of ingredients that I love: avocado, snow peas and portobello mushrooms. One of my repeat favorites though is their delicious turkey burger (with smoked gouda and an avocado spread on a toasted flaxseed bun) with a side of the kale-like-crack salad. Honestly I kind of feel guilty ordering any non-veggie burger in such a healthy food inspiring place, but to their credit the servers always say, "good choice, that's my favorite too!" The honey lemonade is my jam (surprisingly not too sweet, and only 70 calories according to the menu). read more

I was greeted right away when I walked in. The wait time was short less than 5 minutes. The atmosphere was relaxed and happy. People are enjoying their time. Service was excellent. Always solid! We have one in San Diego and we came to Austin for the weekend to tidy things up for our move here this August. Deliciously healthy food! Can't go wrong.
