Our family loves True Food Kitchen because there's food for everyone, vegetarians and vegans especially. The double plant based burger is a big favorite, along with the turkey burger and the bowls. i feel like true food kitchen is a really good option for those who have are vegan/vegetarian, the food is not amazing but honestly it's pretty good. the side carrots are a 10/10 for me :) the all american burger is pretty good too i love the kale salad, it's pretty good their quinoa was so good! i was full and couldn't stop eating i also loved their mushroom it has the perfect taste and texture the service is great i didn't feel uncomfortable or unheard my water was refilled and i also didn't feel hovered over either the vibes were very home-like and calm. this is the place you might come with your family and have dinner or maybe have a relaxing hang out with friends. read more

Yikes I haven't experienced this level of poor service in.. I don't even know. The wait for food was long. Pizza was not hot. My shrimp add-on to my salad was not fully cooked. They re-did it and it was super salty. My husband's burger was well done and dry when he asked for medium. Our server never checked on us. We had to wave him down for everything. Manager knew about our situation and did not apologize. Rather, he told my husband that the grill cook was overwhelmed. Environment was fine though. But this place needs help! My past 3-4 visits were all similarly disappointing but this one tops it. Edit: had to walk back in after noticing that they tried to charge for the burger (showed the minus but they charged double for the burger). Manager fumbled with his words saying he had a brain fart. Also, host in the front avoiding me the whole time seeing I still wanted to talk to someone after asking for receipt copy. read more

Food We started off the meal with the hummus and the edamame guacamole. Both were pretty good. I enjoyed the lightness of the hummus and the refreshing guacamole but it just needed a bit more spice to it. I got the smoke show old fashioned. I enjoyed that because it was pretty smooth and the smokiness from being smoke really came through in a subtle way. When I got my order of the OG burger, I asked for medium rare, it was pretty disappointing to see it was actually Well done, but I decided to just eat it. The burger was pretty dry but the flavor was just okay too, nothing special about the burger. I enjoyed the start of the meal but wish the burger could have been more flavorful Service/Ambiance The actual vibe of the place is really nice and modern and a lot of seating. Our server was nice and accomodating and honestly the highlight of our meal. Might come back to give it another chance just for the service and try to order something better. read more

I was really excited to try True Food Kitchen, but unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. We ended up waiting over an hour for our food. We checked in with our server multiple times and were told it would be "right out," but there were constant delays. We first spoke with a female manager who assured us our meal was next in line and said she would personally bring it out to us. Another 10 minutes went by, and then a different manager came over and told us the order had only been placed about 15 minutes earlier. At that point we asked him to cancel it, but he kept assuring us it would be right out. Another 10 minutes passed, we flagged him down again, and he said "two more minutes." When we said we had already been waiting over an hour, he responded with "don't worry, I believe you," which honestly felt pretty dismissive. After another 10-minute wait, we finally got the food to go, but it was cold, pretty bland, and not what we were expecting at all. On the way out we stopped at Mendocino Farms next door just to grab some water, and they randomly gave us two free cookies and were incredibly kind for no reason. That contrast pretty much summed up the experience. We definitely won't be returning to True Food, but we'll absolutely be back to Mendocino. I really wanted to like this place, but the long wait, miscommunication, and food quality made it a disappointing visit. read more

Always good service from the hostess and servers. They are accommodating with our request regarding seats, if they have the availability (of course). I enjoy the salads that we order. The turkey burger is usually flavorful and comes with two sides. The kale aide and red juice I order with a shot of ginger is on point. They have the best ginger shots in town. It's smooth and potent. Whenever we feel under the weather, we come here and order this ginger shot and surprisingly feel better. The ambience is bright, welcoming and spacious. The managers help the servers, when it's busy or understaffed. The menu has a variety of options. Recently, they added a chicken menu and that is also good. read more

I usually love True Food, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had there. Our table waited over an hour for our food, and although we were offered a free dessert, it took another 30 minutes to arrive. It also wasn't crowded at all, and many of the workers in the kitchen were just standing around chatting. We even had to ask for the check. Overall the service was very slow and disappointing compared to my past visits. read more

My experience was okay here. I had been wanting to try it since I worked nearby so I came with a friend one night for dinner. We were seated right away and the host was nice, but our server had a judgmental tone to her. I was asking about a deal they had that came with an appetizer and entree as I wanted to know if the appetizer was full size or not. After asking, she quickly added the deal was only for one person, assuming my friend and I were going to share. We responded saying that we were going to order more. My friend added the Margherita pizza and I asked for ranch as well. She asked if we were sharing, with a tone sounding like we weren't supposed to be, but I said yes anyway as it was the truth. I don't think there's anything wrong with sharing 2 entrees?? Cause we got a slight deal on the appetizer? Honestly the appetizer we chose were the edamame dumplings since they're the number one dish on Yelp, but they were not great. The truffle overpowered the edamame and the sauce was just meh. I enjoyed the salmon entree and pizza with ranch, but the waitress kind of put a damper on our experience. I don't think I'd return to this location but I would go to another one. read more

Sad to say yesterday will be our last visit. Been going there for years & both the food quality & service have gotten worse over time. Went for Mother's Day with a reservation. Host & hostess did not even look at us when we walked up. Just left to us to stand there while they talked amongst themselves. Then they left to seat others without saying a word. Service was slow; not the server's fault. Turkey burger was bland & came with a vegetable we asked them not to put on it. Accompanying salad had zero dressing. Market Scramble was ok but added avocado for $4 & it was literally 1/4 of an avocado. Had to ask for salt & pepper. We sat for a while waiting for the check before someone who seemed to be a manager came & asked if we needed anything. We asked him for the check & a to-go cup for the Prickly Pear Tisane & he came back with a cup but no straw. When the server finally came with the check, she brought us two coupons to use next time: a free appetizer with $25 purchase. No thank you. Not coming back to spend even one more dollar. Bill was more than $110 for a party of 4 for subpar food & service. read more

The food is always fantastic but the staff is less than palatable. The restaurant was not busy and several staff members walked past my table multiple times with no one offering water or any assistance. When I tried to make eye contact or wave someone down, I was completely ignored. I finally gave up and left after twenty minutes. I have never felt so disregarded in my life. I used to love coming to True Food Kitchen at The Point, but my brunch experience today was completely unacceptable and entirely devoid of basic hospitality. First, they have severely stripped down their menu options and only offer whole milk or almond milk now--gone are the high-quality alternatives like hemp. When I tried to order a hot matcha latte, the server actually told me to walk to a neighboring restaurant to fetch my own milk! I walked all the way over to North Italia, graciously got a cup of oat milk, and brought it back. I explicitly ordered my matcha HOT (I never drink cold drinks). After a 15-minute wait, the server brought me an ICED matcha, completely wasting the oat milk I had gone out of my way to get.To make matters worse, the manager came over to bring a replacement and proceeded to lecture and reprimand me. I was told they "don't offer this," that this was the "last time they'd do this for me," and that I should "never ask for oat milk again." I was treated like a misbehaving child for a mistake their own staff made. When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. The eggs and sweet potato dish barely had any actual eggs in it, and the pancakes were completely soggy and gross. I went inside to speak to the manager because the entire situation was incredibly uncomfortable and the service was hostile. While my friend paid for her portion, I felt I shouldn't have had to pay for mine given the treatment--but I paid anyway just to leave. True Food Kitchen has completely lost its standard of customer service. I will not be returning! read more

I used to go to the True Food Kitchen in Santa Monica all the time. That is, of course, before they opened this location. I've been to this location a bevy of times and every time has been a good experience. On my most recent visit, and the reason that prompted me to write this review was the service. It was phenomenal. Every single staff member was friendly and sweet; very welcoming. Inside is very clean and open. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The drinks are amazing. I don't think I've ever had a bad drink here. As for the food, I have had some misses but overall, I think the food is yummy. The desserts are yummy and I would absolutely recommend if you're in the area. read more

Things have improved very VERY much since my last review of this place. The food is still outstanding and yes...the service is or rather has been excellent and a pleasure to experience! TFK always offers a wonderful food selection including vegan options. Today I had the burger with a split side of kale greens and sweet potato hash. The weather was nice enough to enjoy it with a tall glass of watermelon lemonade. Overall: If in the vicinity of a TFK...do yourself a favor and stop in for a solo lunch or with family n friends. She didn't oversell it; she just smiled and said, "It's really good." That alone was enough. She was right.
