Hostess "Donna" was RUDE. very snippy and inhospitable. After being seated we asked to move and were told NO! Once you are seated you can not move. Not customer friendly at all. Not even a smile. 5:30pm and just a handful of diners, hostess offered a circle table literally right by the door (not ideal for us with two little kids) we asked for another table before we sat down and she acted so incredibly put out by our request and was just very rude about it like we were asking for her own personal table or something. Our server was friendly enough. The food was not great. My partner ordered the chopped salad. The chicken was cold, dry and tough and not seasoned. I had the grass fed burger ($20) which was served lukewarm and lacked any kind of seasoning. The mushrooms were so incredibly salty- like the salt shaker lid opened up onto their sautee pan. Kids ordered the air fried chicken which was over cooked and incredibly dry. Rainbow carrots were past their prime and could've used a peeler to at least make them look more appealing. We had a great night at True Food. We came for light up night at the Rio and had a lovely view of the fireworks from our table. I had the grassfed burger which was cooked perfectly. My children ordered off of the kids menu and were very happy with their pizza and burger. I also had a Doctors Mule which hit the spot and was super yummy. I have been to this location previously and the service was slow however we were very pleased with the service this time around. It was very efficient and our server was excellent. This restaurant has a warm ambiance and caught my eye as a restaurant geared towards healthier foods. I got the kale salad. It had a bit of a kick to it which I didn't expect based on description. I ordered it with chicken, which unfortunately was on the dry side. My husband liked the brussel sprouts appetizer which also had a kick to it and the OG (ginger, honey, lime) drink which had a strong gingery flavor. The location is great, came for lunch and sat outside. We were able to enjoy the Rio lake view from our table. Staff was friendly, although it was a very long wait for the food (around 40 min) when the place was not even that busy. The food itself was very good and fresh with pretty unique flavors. I've been here 3 times already. Have not gotten bored of the food but always wowed by how fresh each dish was. You can tell that everything pretty much is made right in kitchen. I love how you can see the chefs right there cooking behind the bar. Great portion size! Enough to make you leaving not only satisfied but happy. The services were excellent! Didn't have to wait long nor the waiter and waitresses seem clueless about what's on the menu. I came here for the first time because my residence gave me a 20% off coupon so I wanted to use it. Upon arrival, the restaurant is well kept, well lit, clean, and inviting. The woman at the desk helped me choose a menu item and I ended up going with the Korean noodle bowl with salmon and asked for them to make it spicy. I had misplaced my coupon but she gave me the 20% off anyways which was nice and exhibited good customer service. The food was light, tasty, and guilt free. Will definitely be coming back. read more

I ordered the Tuscan Kale Salad and the Chopped Salad. I received the most dismal, pathetic, and saddest meal in my recent memory. The flavors were nice, all three bites of it. I added chicken to both salads, and it was tacky and seasoned with a smack of chicken water and light salt, horrible. I also ordered a kale aid and it wasn't included in my to-go bag. Turns out they were out of it, but didn't bother to let me know or refund me until I brought it to their attention. Total came to $40 for the saddest flacid greens imaginable. See for yourself (pics attached). Don't spend your money here. Go to Flower Child or Vasili's for better salad options. Ate here for lunch - Gabe was my server. He was super knowledgeable, warm, welcoming. He knew the history of the restaurant - where it started/how/why, what makes it unique (attention to clean food, sustainable, calorie/fat conscious, premium ingredients, etc.), how popular items are marked with a blue box on the menu, his own recommendations when asked, etc. Superb service, truly. The food was equally impeccable. Very fresh, clean, perfect proportions, affordable - especially for the quality. I had fresh delicious coffee, a salad, and the butternut squash soup which was amazing with bits of roasted sage garnish. Perfection. My only recommendation is to provide more visible references to the name of the restaurant because I forgot it as soon as I sat down. Other than that - keep it up - terrific job! read more

As a vegetarian, they have many options in each course. The waiting staff is knowledgeable and share the whole idea behind true foods Kitchen each time I've gone there. I love their fresh ingredients and it really shows in the quality of the food. The pizza was amazing and small enough for one person to finish it all. The dishes are just the right sizes for us to try different things and not get stuffed by the time for desserts. My boyfriend got a double vegan cheeseburger that was made with beets and mushrooms which was nice to see (some vegetarian adjacent folks like him have soy allergies which makes something like Impossible burgers...well..impossible to consume). He enjoyed his meal and I tried it and it did taste very meaty and you don't miss the beef really. I got the chicken sausage lasagna which was pretty good. Can't complain. I have to say, they won over this picky girl. I was pleasantly surprised about this place! I'm pretty selective and I'm plant based. I had the teriyaki bowl with organic tofu. We also got the hummus duo and buffalo cauliflower and those were great as well. The latte I got was good too. Our service was quick (but no one was really in there but a few people)..
