Wow what a huge disappointment on your servings and pricing. I have been wanting to try yawl because of some of the reviews. Didn't care for the pricing but thought I would still try based on reviews online. I had no idea this placed existed and I've been coming to this HEB for a year! So glad I finally found this place. I ordered a baked potato with brisket and it was the perfect dinner. Brisket was flavorful and moist and the baked potato was perfectly topped with all the fixins and piping hot. Not a bad price either. The bartenders here are always amazing, so attentive and friendly. Food is pretty good for a neighborhood bbq spot! My only gripe is the last couple times, and most recently tonight, I've been in at 8pm and tried to order certain food items, the cashier has told me the kitchen has just told them they are "out of" the same specific things. It kind of seems like they don't want to make certain items because they close at 9pm.Tonight I was told they didn't have anything with Queso, any pulled pork, and didn't have the toppings to the true Texas sandwich. I would understand if I was ordering right before 9 andthey had cleaned up things in the kitchen, but at 8 it seems a bit ridiculous. This restaurant is a quick service establishment that offers fast and accommodating service and is consistently clean on the inside, which is important to me. I've been here multiple times and have never been failed. On this day we got a loaded baked potato with lean brisket, a pulled pork sandwich and a brisket (lean) sandwich. We didn't order any today, but the coleslaw and sides are worth mentioning. The prices are very reasonable for barbecue, and they do not skimp on the meats. The lean brisket on my loaded potato was more like tender burnt ends which are heavenly, IYKYK. The brisket sandwich (lean) was loaded with meat, and very flavorful as was the pulled pork sandwich. As far as Texas BBQ, this is good food but forgetable. We've been a few times and the services is always by someone in training and tonight we got our food and thought it was the kids portion. I guess they're feeling the pinch of inflation but honestly the prices were already edging on high ( $~17 each without drinks) but I would have rather paid a little more and been left feeling like I was being treated like a guest instead of a burden. The cashier in training, with all kinds of good intention tried to be accomodating as she didn't know what buttons to press and the cook from the back rushed out to assertively tell her she would need to cancel the order - hollering across the room. I sense that this was a result of yet another executive-level fool who is completely out of touch with the target audience making a decision to re-imagine the add-on restaurant concept. Please, sir or madam, go back to your keyboard and work on a spreadsheet. Oaks Crossing was a place to eat, drink, meet your old friends and make new ones. Wednesdays were for whiskey. Weekends were for dancing goofily in any space you could carve out. Now, TTBBQ offers us a stripped down version of a tired genre in a hastily-fashioned package. Piped in Old Fashioneds through a tap? Oh, the shame. A greatly reduced menu and liquor selection? Fail. All that being said, and it was damn necessary to be emphasized, the service was fine. The food was fine. But guess what? I'm not looking for just fine. OC was our weekly stop. Now we will stop going weekly. In fact, I doubt we'll go back at all, which leaves me with a heavy heart. The one positive was the girl behind the bar, who was bubbly and sweet. Cheers to her. We drove through and had the lean brisket and pork ribs...deliciousness. We asked about beef ribs, they said available Fridays after 5. We went a couple weeks later on a Friday, they are amazing well worth the $20. We've had Franklins, Blacks, and Kreuz. True Barbecue are every bit as great as Franklins for half the cost and not waiting in line for hours on a Saturday morning. Yesterday we tried the Tomahawk pork chop so tender and moist. I don't know what it was. Last night I ordered chicken and it was good. The Fritoe Pie was horrible. It should have had melted cheese on it. Instead, it was some grated cheese (cold) on top of fritoes and some meat. The meat was ok, but I will never order that again. I wish they had a REAL hamburger. Three of our neighborhood restaurants have closed in the past year or two (Drink, Helix and now Trilogy Burgers). No good. Ordered an "Impossible Burger" for my wife and a Hamburger for myself to go. My wife reported that the "IB" was in her words "Dry as a bone" and the burger was barely cooked. Cold and red on the inside. They both were tossed. I stopped in on another evening to have a cocktail then do some grocery shopping, I was told it was a "State Law" that to have a cocktail I would have to buy food. That was an outright lie. Following up on my review of 8/25/23. I took the advice of the HEB Business Manager and contacted the Customer Relations department. Wow! I can't find words for how rudely the representative responded. I fully explained the situation, told them I was working with accounting to get the charges removed but wanted to discuss my experience. I asked why the restaurant couldn't credit the charges when they had confirmed the order didn't come through (on their app). I gave the scenario of what if I were someone on a fixed income and HEB had tied up $84.72 of my funds and I wouldn't be able to buy groceries? Shouldn't HEB be concerned. The response was "but you're not in that situation". I asked to speak to a supervisor, after a long hold was told the supervisor was in a meeting and I would have to wait for a call back. I asked if they really felt their response was acceptable, and was told they would not answer any of my questions. I encourage an Executive with HEB Customer Relations to listen to the conversation at around 11:24 with a representative R***** and provide them additional training, discipline and development.
