Cozy and comfortable inside as it was a bit hot mid June to enjoy their patio option (though maybe in future if they add a misting system). Fast friendly professional service and my GF Ahi Tuna salad included an ample layer of rare grilled ahi on top, and was fresh and delicious. Tryst Cafe has been on my radar for a while. I can't believe I am only trying this place now, after living in the valley for 4 years. But I am so glad I did! I wanted to grab breakfast with my mom this morning and was looking for a more laid back relaxed vibe. Glad I remembered Tryst was right down the road from where we were coming from. We made great time and got a seat on the patio. (just before 11am). About 10 minutes after we arrived the place started filling up. I had the egg white spinach and kale omelet with fruit. Love that it doesn't come with bread since I usually skip the carbs. But today your girl wanted bread so I just added a side of marbled rye toast! My mom did an a la cart style breakfast with a pancake and egg. The food was fresh and delicious. The service was great. I can't wait to come back here with my sisters. read more

Cute little café across the street from Desert Ridge. Met a friend for brunch. We had a sweet server named Sasha. My friend is gluten free and they were able to substitute my friend's order to accommodate her preferences and Sasha triple checked to make sure it was right. I had the standard Tryst breakfast with egg, toast and sausage. Neither of us finished our meal but we are both light eaters. Thankfully we got seated right away at 10am on a Sunday but others after us had a short wait. Service was a little slow, but certainly attentive most of the time. My sister and I stopped in for a quick lunch as I was in between doctor appointments. What a cute find? Service was great and we were seated immediately (11/30a on a Friday, place was really busy) As we walked to our table; I noticed someone had a bowl of what appeared to be butternut squash- so when the server came over I asked her what that was, she said it was sweet potato tots, Yum! My sister had a French dip and I had the buffalo chicken wrap, of course we both had to order the sweet potato tots. I asked for some type of siracha mayonnaise for dipping sauce and they brought me a chipotle ranch, which was super tasty Last note $5 Conundrum white blend wine?? Yes please!! I do wish restaurants would start to offer the low-carb tortilla shells as an option, I have yet to find it anywhere, but I am hoping some restaurant will take up the low-carb cause soon. We ate at Tryst yesterday. They did a great job in spite of being short-handed. The hostess filled in, bussing tables, setting up, and serving carry-out patrons. The single waiter on duty managed to handle all the tables, taking orders and serving drinks and meals and checking on us even though she had many diners to look after. It took a while for us to be seated, but the hostess managed our expectations. When we had unexpected members of our party show up after we were already at a table, the hostess and the waiter both came to move us to a larger table. Throughout it all, they kept their smiles and positive attitudes. read more

My boyfriend and I went an hour before close on 1/8/23 and were skeptical. We only wanted something quick so we didn't overstay. But, Sophia was the best server and delivered such amazing food. Everything was hot, the drinks were ice cold (per how we ordered) and she was attentive. She made me feel like we were longtime friends and was very friendly. She is knowledgeable and offered suggestions after we asked for opinions. 10/10 would visit just for her again. The cafe itself was adorable and very fun to sit and look around. Looking forward to coming back to sit at the bar or patio. Wish I got pictures! Also, if you like spicy, the riblets are to die for. This review is strictly based on the level of customer service as we never got to try the food. We had a reservation for 3 people. Mins you she text you multiple times to confirm the reservation and requesting personal information such as birthday etc When we arrived today for our reservation on time today we were told they didn't have a table for us inside as requested we would have to go outside on the patio on 100 + temperature. I notified the hostess I had made a reservation for inside and she said SORRY! Then ahead proceeded to show me an empty table and tell me that she had a party of 6 and their reservation trumped mine. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! This is the worst kind of customer service. Obviously we went somewhere else for brunch. Luckily there are so many other great brunch places in the area that I have no need to ever return. I just hope the party of 6 showed up because they lost the party of 3. read more

Tryst Cafe is setback across the street from Desert Ridge and would be hard to see from Tatum if you didn't know what and where you were looking for. The interior is hip and up to date and there is a nice patio outside that will fit maybe 50 people. The food is for a healthy lifestyle but doesn't lack any taste. I had the Kailua Pork bowl and a cup of the Chicken Tortilla soup. The bowl was good and plentiful but I feel it was missing something. I added some hot sauce and it improved it. The chicken tortilla soup was great and I had wished I ordered a bowl of it. I didn't drink any alcohol but there were others at table around me with cocktails that looked really good. We tried after getting a promo on FB this morning. Our waitress seemed new (not a big deal); she asked another woman how to redeem promo offer (free coffee); the woman that she asked was very loud and advised waitress from across the room that promo cannot be used same day and that it would be sent via email which made my husband uncomfortable... lol. I tried to show/explain that promo displayed a redeem option via text/messenger when our waitress returned to our table but she was just to inexperienced to understand how to assist so we ordered our food and I just waited for someone else to walk by to ask/assist. The next waitress I asked about promo went back to the same woman for assistance -- once again she indicated from across the room, loudly -- promo cannot be used same day (no one asked me when I opted in for their promo) so I got up and walked over to both waitresses to show the "redeem" now option sent via text/messenger. ** Sure seemed like alot of effort to use their promo (end result... I got the promo on my way out, coffee to go). Our food was good -- shrimp tacos would have been more enjoyable with less sauce (sauce on the side may be a better option). Also, I had to ask at the end of our meal for drink that comes with kids meal (server was not accessible and never checked back in after we received our food). My rating is based on overall experience -- wait time (25 minutes), push back on their promo, customer service, and food.
