The wait staff was very attentive and professional. The food can out fast and HOT. Like fresh out the fryer hot. Had to wait a few mins for it to cool down. This was of course a good sign. We came here on a whim after a rainy day at the Stoneridge Mall. I did not feel like waiting in line for the Cheesecake Factory and opted to drive down to Tto Bong Ee for some grub. The owner/manager was gracious, patient, and attentive. We ordered some jalapeño chicken with mixed drumsticks and wings, the jap chae (jab jae), and crispy boneless chicken. Everything was well seasoned, the chicken crunchy and juice, and the noodles had a lovely bounce. I have never been to a Korean fried chicken restaurant so I was unsure what to to order. It appears as if most of the combinations only include wings and drumsticks, I generally like meatier cuts of chicken like the thigh and the breasts so I ordered the whole chicken, and on the recommendation of the staff the sausage rolls. The sauce on the sausage roll was tasty but was a little too sweet /salty for me. It was also very garlicky but I did not mind that much. As for the fried whole chicken...I really liked the spice blend on it and it was fried perfectly, the only thing was it was the the tiniest whole chicken I have ever seen. My husband had the fried whole chicken and normally doesn't like white meat because it's too dry but The fried chicken was really juicy despite being cooked thoroughly. Craving fried chicken and neither Popeyes nor Chic-Fil-A appealed to me. This restaurant popped up on my Yelp feed, so I thought I'd give it a try. Small restaurant. Helpful service. Communal tables are available outside. I ordered a full-size order of Crispy chicken combo (wings and drumsticks) for my first visit since it was recommended it can be shared by 2 people. It came with small radish banchan. It did not disappoint! It was so good that I came back for dinner and ordered a half order of the Soy Garlic and Yang Nyum (Sweet & Korean chili sauce) chicken combos. Both were good; they had their own distinct flavors. You know a Korean chicken place is doing something right when they give you one of those three fingered disposable gloves :) We ordered the number 2 yang nyum chicken half as well as the jab chae. Both were great. I had both flats and drums. The nyum chicken was really tender: fresh, hot, crispy and lots of sauce. It wasn't that spicy, but you would consider it spicy for American standards. I especially liked they way they packaged the chicken. It came in a box with foil inside that kept the sauce from spilling all over and making the box soggy. It came with a side of pickled radishes which was standard and good. The jab chae was a large portion, hot and fresh. It was solid, well seasoned and with a good amount of veggies. I am used to having jab chae cold so for some reason I was surprised having it hot haha. Overall, the food was good and the staff were kind. I went during their soft opening, so I think people should expect to wait for their food while they are still figuring out workflow. If anything, I would be interested to see how well they do moving forward, also since they mentioned they had a supply chain issue too with the wings (their menu indicates you can choose to do only drums, only wings or drums and wings but when you order they said they can only do both). read more

Okay so this place has some BOMB chicken. The original crispy is DELICIOUS!!!!!! Possibly the best fried chicken that I've ever had. The only reason for my 4 star review is because they messed up my last order. I ordered two orders of the original crispy chicken over the phone and they gave me spicy chicken. The spicy chicken isn't bad and personally I don't mind a little spice but I was entertaining people who can't tolerate spice at all. For the Sodduck Soddcuk, it was surprisingly very good. After the first skewer I figured out if you eat both the rice cake and sausage at the same time your tastebuds will thank you for the party. It was all Salty, spicy, sweet and sour flavor. One advice I would give to other patrons are that your order may take 30+ mins. I've driven and walked by this place many times, and I didn't even know this place existed until a suggestion from my sister. I love fried chicken but until I came here I hadn't had good juicy crispy chicken with a very thin crust. Chicken here is very good and juicy and not greasy even when fried. Normally I would've taken 1 star off since the flavor or texture wasn't as advertised on one item, but because of the feeling of being welcomed when picking up I'll leave it as 5(further details at bottom). I ordered the galbi chicken and the soy garlic chicken with combo wings+drums. The soy garlic was delicious and lightly sweet and they even give you whole roasted garlic. The galbi chicken was a bit of a let down, as I thought it waould have some bbq flavor but all it had was mild heat, no sweet or smokey flavors. Chicken otherwise was great; so much so that I'd even consider trying their boneless wings. Something I would never consider elsewhere because it's just chicken breast strips and most places make them overcooked and dry. Customer service was exceptional, the cashier working front greeted me upon entry before I even walked all the way in; even though he seemed busy getting ready for closing down shop. Visited for the 4th time today since I found out about it a month ago. I've almost tried every flavor on the menu at this point and haven't been disappointed once. My personal favorite is the green onion chicken. It has a ton of flavor from the sweet mustard based sauce it's coated in along with the strands of onion on top (make sure you take a bite of it along with the onion!). The whole fried chicken is also amazing when you just want something simple but done right. It's crispy without excessive batter and comes with a packet of salt for dipping (optional of course for those who complain religiously about "salty" food) which helps to make the flavors really stand out. Yes, you will be waiting 20-30 minutes on average, but you're getting hot, fresh chicken that's literally steaming when it arrives to you. If you're impatient and want food instantly, then you truly should just go for a fast food chain. High quality restaurants are not for you, no need to complain to the rest of us who have patience and don't mind waiting for fresh food. To cut down on the wait order online then drive over for pickup. I also really love the staff who work here! They're always super sweet and add to the reason why I like coming back. TLDR - tasty, better than bonchon, but a tad pricey Tried: * Crispy fried chicken * Soy garlic chicken * Yang nyum (marinated sauce) chicken * Sodduk sodduk (sausage rice cake skewers) * Dukbokki (spicy rice cake plus fish cake) The chicken was juicy, tasty. All flavors were really enjoyable. I just felt like it was a tad pricey. We got the combo (10 wings, 5 drums) for each flavor. It ranged from $26 to $30 per order of 15 pieces. I do not realize that if we ordered only wings or boneless it would have come with 20 pieces. I think that is a better value. The ddukboki was a'ight. The sodduk sodduk was yum, but a little sweet. The restaurant only has maybe five or six tables inside. But there's plenty of seating outside under large sail shades. Overall, still really enjoyed the chicken along with a large picture of Cass beer. Just wish the prices were more like $20-25 per order instead of 25-30. read more
