    Half & Half Chicken

One of the best Korean fried chicken places in the bay! The drumsticks were some of the biggest ones I've ever seen. I had the original flavor and the yang nyum flavor. I liked that the yang nyum flavor wasn't too spicy and it is definitely more juicy than the original flavor. I will definitely come back to try the other flavors!

Overall rating: 4/5 Had a craving for Korean fried chicken and spotted Ttobongee Chicken on my drive back from San Ramon. It's in a plaza with plenty of parking. Came in around 7:50pm on a Saturday--no wait. The vibe inside was homey and chill, with both indoor and lots of outdoor seating. The server was polite, efficient, and gave solid menu recs. We ordered the jalapeño fried chicken (drums & wings)--super crispy, juicy, and tender. Flavor was a little on the subtle side, so I'd give it a 4/5. Overall, pretty good spot! I'd come back to try the original and Yangnyum fried chicken next time.

Ordered online and the process was super easy. The wings were ready in 20 minutes and were hot when I picked them up. The sauce was tasty; we liked the chili taste and it wasn't too spicy either as there was also a sweet tangy flavor as well. It reminded us a bit of the Asian Zing Sauce from B Dubs. The chicken itself was okay; it was a bit dry and wasn't as tender as we would've wanted. The price was also a bit high as well for the quality as we like B Dubs a bit better due to also tasting good and having cheaper prices.

Love this place - great flavors, delicious food - easy to find parking. Order online and pick up in 20 mins. Some items aren't always available (like the kimbap) but there's good variety for those that like spicy and those that don't. Yum!

After trying so many different korean fried chicken spots in the bay, i think this is a good average spot for your KFC cravings. did it wow me? not too much, i felt like flavors were ok and crunch was a little lackluster for me. Maybe i will order sauce on the side next time so it keeps the crispy factor. If i were to compare this to Vons, i think i would still prefer Vons because their chicken is more crispy and the sauce is more unique. however, service was decent. They gave a nice welcome and didnt take too long to get my order out. overall a decent spot if you need your cravings satisfied.

They do their chicken right! Just how I loved them. It is simply delicious and cater to my own taste buds. I like them sweet & spicy at the same time. While it's a little pricey, you are getting quality chicken made to order. Every bite have the wow factor. Try it for yourself.

Staff friendly. There's a public seating area right in front outside that is shared with other establishments. The inside is small but there are a few tables in there as well. Ordered the half half and it was delicious. The chicken was nice and crunchy and had good flavor. They brought the food outside to us and it's served fresh and hot! The jap chae was good. It had chicken in it. The chicken was a bit dry but everything else was great.

Wow, as good as people have rated it! The half order of wings was delicious! It reminded me of my favorite Asian fried chicken, with the star anise flavor - good crunch too. The onion rings were perfect - no onion sliding out from the batter. The cole slaw was surprisingly good. Not overly creamy, yeah! I'm not sure why I never thought cole slaw went with Korean fried chicken, but it worked. The fried tofu kimbap was very good, very fresh tasting. The soy mayo sauce with it was very good.

Easy takeout. Was craving good kimbap, and the few places I had had it recently just didn't make the cut (sorry others raved on HMART and TJs). Since I was on the area I yelped it and saw Ttobongee wasn't too far from me. If pictures didn't lie, I was in for a treat! Quickly called in to ask a few qualifying questions then quickly placed my order for one of each kimbap roll. Took them home to share with the family. Bugolgi kimbap: full of main ingredients. Tasty seasonings. Bold flavors. Loved the finish of sesame oil. Could have done without the vinegar, even tho light. Fishcake kimbap: more subtle flavors. Still very good. Each roll about $11. Love that this is a chain and can fill a craving in Pleasanton, Tracy, Santa Clara, even Hayward! Next time I will try their fried chicken. Heard it's the bomb!

Located next to Alameda Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, this place marks the spot for Korean fried chicken! Service was friendly and it seemed like a family-owned business. They were nice when asked for extra utensils/napkins. The inside offers a few tables (small space) and have tables outside as well. Food was incredible. Appetizers Sodduk sodduk - Rice cake and sausage covered in yang nyum sauce. Chewy and nicely cooked. Fried Mando - Super crispy and had decent pork/veg filling inside. Yummy with soy sauce! Entree #3 Half & Half. (Original and Yang Nyum) - Juicy, tender, the crispiness was to perfection. Yang Nyum sauce is sweetish and a hint of spicy. They were not shy with the glaze. Both were fried beautifully. I was extremely satisfied.

Ordered the green onion fried chicken and the soy garlic fried chicken at 8:30pm and chicken was out by 8:45pm. The ladies working there were super cute and friendly. It was my first time ordering from here and it might be my favorite Korean fried chicken place now! The green onion fried chicken was SO YUMMY. The green onion flavor was perfect and worked so well with the chicken. Soy garlic was also solid. I was raving about this place all night and can't wait to come back!

Nice little spot! The flavors are good. We had the boneless chicken in soy garlic and korean honey flavors. Plus an order of french fries and sodduck soddcuk (sausage rice cake skewer). Everything was tasty, and we were given some neat 3 finger gloves to use (so fingers don't get dirty). The chicken was crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. It was pretty crunchy. We had the half order (10 pieces) for both flavors and it felt like more than 10, or that the pieces were very large! Lots to have for a second meal. The fries were tasty, so nicely fluffy on the inside. Good for sharing. The sausage and rice cake skewer was good too! Nice sweet and spicy sauce. The woman running the restaurant was really nice. Not a whole lot of seating, but cute setup of "picnic" black and white checkerboard tablecloths on the tables they have.

Hubbs never had Korean food before and he picked beef bulgogi which is a great choice. The plate was huge with large portions and we were there for "lunch" not dinner. We were pleasantly surprised he got TWO side salads both different although super fresh and very good. all that in addition to steamed rice! how did they know my hubbs likes mac salad? That was a plus. I tried the Tofu kimchee which also had chicken in it. It was a glorious looking dish with generous portions again! I'll upload a pic of my takeout box later. The internet was down so it was cash only - which was fine, inconvenient, but not their fault. We ordered two plates of spicy bulgogi, one order of chicken, and three bowls of rice. The rice was dry, but that's fine because that's not why you go to kbbq. The portions were small, which should have been fine because it's all you can eat. However, we could not get any more service. The manager had taken over taking orders, and we watched her walk past our table multiple times. We watched her service other tables and not hear us try to get her attention. We got the attention of the hostess (with the help of the table next to us, who was also struggling to get any attention) who then said the manager would be right over to us. We never spoke to a manager. We decided to ask for the check instead. I had to step out because my baby was becoming a handful. My husband asked for the check, expressing that paying the full charge for the lack of service or food we received felt disrespectful, and was told the manager could help us. The manager never spoke to him, despite him waiting after the hostess told him again that she would. The only person in our group of three who left satisfied at all had already ate a lunch somewhere else before. My husband and I left hungry and disappointed. Two stars because the hostess was friendly. We will not be back.
