Had the most incredible lunch today. The Salad and Pizza that I ordered from Tucci's today was better than any other Italian food in the neighborhood. That includes the fancy sit down restaurants on Federal and the 2 on Palmetto. Had the Italian salad which was fresh, well chilled, had the right amount of Gorgonzola cheese and the dressing was the one we all wish we knew how to make. The Pizza was over the top phenomenal. I ordered the First Ave, Spicy Sausage, Onions and Red Peppers. The flavor of the toppings, the crunch of the crust, the sauce and the cheese, were everything you would want in the ultimate Pizza. We love the pizza and wings here. We normally order pizza and wings. We love their margherita pizza with pepperoni and red onions; their spicy barbecue chicken wings are delicious. They're just as spicy as we like. If you don't have the tongue for spicy- i wouldn't recommend. But if you love spicy, the go for it, you won't be disappointed. Manager S U C K S. I personally did not like their meatballs( I didnt even eat more than one bite of them), and he refused to take them off the check. I told him that the customer is always right, and that I have been coming to this place for years and haven't had ANY issues with their food. He stated " Customers are NOT always right, and I will not be taking them off your bill " Then he basically threw us out of the restaurant. I WILL NEVER DINE HERE AGAIN. I felt it was time to provide an updated review of Tucci's and give it the 5 stars it rightfully deserves. While 4 stars is no small feat, Tucci's has continued to redefine itself and most importantly, continues to get better. While many Red Rock enthusiasts may have felt indifferent to their beloved pizza joint becoming modernized, the fact remains the food is just as good if not better than it ever was. With each passing year Tucci's continues to offer up more variety than before, not to mention a rather impressive craft beer selection to boot. Coal fire pizza places are a dime a dozen, the pies are often imitated, but never duplicated. The pizza at Tucci's is just superior to any of its kind. I enjoy Anthony's just as much as the next. It's a fine chain and they certainly seem to have a monopoly going on, but the pizzas are incomparable. Tucci's is the best in its class. Been here 3 times and the food is consistently fantastic. Alison has been our server all three times and she remembers us and treats us well. Steve, the manager, is very friendly and makes it a point to check on everyone and make everyone feel welcome. He also took great care of our dog, giving him water and a healthy treat. My favorite pizza is the meatball, ricotta w/ caramelized onions. This is the only pizza where I will eat the crust, its so good. I love the broccoli rabe with sausage as an appetizer. (Get it with the spicy sausage if you like a kick.) This restaurant is really great. I've been lucky enough to come early and have not had to wait. I have been coming here since it opened, I use to go to red rock when it was open prior to Tucci's. Tucci's has taken the Red Rock pie and elevated it. A client had given me a gift certificate to 13 American table which sadly had gone out of business before I had a chance to use it. Wings with caramelized onions and roasted garlic charred in the coal fired oven (finished every last one yum) the Tony G pizza could not finish will be great for lunch tomorrow. Tucci's is by far the best pizza place in the area. The crust, the sauce, the oven, the ingredients - they are all top notch. It's expensive as hell, but they run a $5 coupon off a large pie in the local ads and that brings it back to earth. It's in Boca, so what would you expect? The wings are delicious and the salads are very good. This is no luxury restaurant, mind you, just a sophisticated pizza place with good pasta and a nice comfort food menu. Since you are in Boca and not in some ghetto like Pompano or Delray, they obviously carry a large selection of (reasonably priced) wines to go with your pizza. I've eaten here many many times and have done take-out even more, and I can tell you that the staff is not rude at all. On the contrary, they are very friendly. Yes, they are Italian with all the good and bad that goes with this, but I have never (ever) had a bad experience here. Every time there's a dude or (preferably) a babe welcoming you with a big smile. They are nice and welcoming, but if you're one of those obnoxious out-of-towners and try to dis them, they'll let you have it, and for good reason. A comment to the previous reviewers: don't knock a place because you couldn't find parking or other stupid stuff. You're supposed to be reviewing the food here, not give 1 and 2 stars for your sh...y experience. In case you didn't know, there's like a major turf war in Mizner over parking, no drive-bys or nothing, this is Boca after all and not Lake Worth or Delray, and all the merchants are at each other's throats. The dudes in the parking lot with the Thai restaurant actually hired an old-timer to "watch" the parking lot for rogue parking, which I really don't understand since there's like three garages across the street in Mizner and they are all free to park. What you gonna do, after Obama picked up where George II left off (I = idiot and II = double idiot) and continued to ruin our economy, everyone's fighting for every dollar. But Tucci's is awesome. A second best is Umberto's in Deerfield, but that's like comparing a Mercedes to a Cadillac. The pizza at Tucci's is quite possibly my favorite pizza found in South Florida. The wood-fired pizza is excellent and tasty. Additionally, they've got a decent selection of sides/appetizers. What keeps them from a five is that the service isn't always the best and the staff sometimes seems a bit...grouchy. Regardless, worth the trip. Word to the wise: Give the escarole dish a try. We started with an order of wings which were very good. Then we had a large pizza, half Ricotta/Meatball and the other half 1st Ave (Sausage, Red Peppers and Onions). Came in on a Monday around 7pm and was able to find a parking spot directly across the street. Others have commented on the limited parking due to the area - I think I lucked out! A gentleman named Steve told me the wait would be around 20 minutes however my party of three were seated in about 10 minutes. Soon after two separate larger parties came in and were seated promptly. One with 7 adults and the other with 8 which included two newborns and a few children. Everyone was accommodated. Yelp had a coupon that provided $30 of food for $20. I also checked in and recieved a small chesse pizza to go! I'm not a huge fan of plain cheese pizza, but boy, even this one was great!. Love this place. It's in my loop of lunch places. The food is great cooked fresh to order, which means it takes time to get done. That doesn't bother me just wanted to let you know you can't be in a rush to eat here. The wings with fresh garlic cloves and sautéed onions are a awesome. The tower with extra glazed is to die for.
