Ate there with my wife and 2 children this past Saturday 1/18/20. I got food poisoning from the skillet vegetables. In addition to that the food was terrible. Chicken was rubbery, queso and salsa tasted like bad store bought items at best and the "top shelf" Margaritas were way too sweet. Only positive was our waitress was great. This carryout experience felt like it was a chance to pull one over on the customer. This place is alright if you stick with the TexMex but I caution straying away from that. I got a "caesar salad" as a side and it was literally a bunch of the thinly shredded lettuce with enough chopped romaine on top to pass a quick look over. The other side was mac & cheese and I'm not sure what was wrong with that but the wife agreed that it tasted off like it had sat out all day or got something strange mixed into it. Food is NOT good at all. The queso was cold. Even when they have the tiny,tiny candle that's "supposed" to keep the queso warm, it DOES NOT. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was well done. I had to send it back and waited a long time to get a new steak. By then my husband had already finished his meal. The rest of my food, baked potatoes and vegetables were cold. I am NEVER going back there again. I'm shocked this place is still open. I guess if people don't know what good food is supposed to taste like then this is the place to go. read more

Late Friday night dinner, decided on Tumbleweed. Maybe should be read reviews before going, because we Sat and ate almost two bowls of chips before food even came. And they weren't even busy. And how they could be burnt a perfect piece of salmon, just not good. Ended getting discount off check because of it. So that was one good highlight of our dinner. read more

We've been going to tumbleweed every once in a while for years. They're cheap and the servers are always nice to us. We have a young child so it can be hard to bring him to sit-down restaurants sometimes because he has tantrums but the staff there don't mind and they actually like to see him and talk to him. This is the LAST time I will eat at this restaurant. We were party of 4 and waited about 15 minutes for our table--I counted 8 empty tables in the restaurant while we waited! Several parties came behind us, hostess disappeared and about 12-15 people standing in small area waiting for table. This is a Tex-Mex place, and they have chips & salsa. The chips were cold and stale. We waited for our food for 35 minutes--the beans & rice were cold. So many things wrong, restaurant understaffed, table behind us was told, "we ran out of chips." It's hard to pinpoint who could possibly be responsible for such a bad experience all the way around. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT AT ALL COST!! read more

Absolutely the worst dining experience ever. Waitress rude after asking her when my drink might come out. Mumbling something about too many tables. I honestly wouldn't feed my dog this food. Bathrooms smelled and were permeating out in dining room. Waitress kept coming over asking if things were ok, but we were too afraid to say anything, we just wanted to let our son finish his French fries and go. After a long lapse between visits to the Tumbleweed chain, I recall it being a lot better than i remembered. This location wasn't very clean, tables were sticky (lack of sanitation....just a wipe down with a perpetually wet towel) Chips had a slight stale texture. The only matter of quality that remained consistent was the cheese dip that goes over the candle on the table. Service is waaay sub-par. Bleh...I won't be back. read more

Have not been here in a while, but stopped in for lunch today. WOW! The chips and salsa are great, the service was great. My wife had the BBQ pork sandwich, and she was raving about how good it was. Surprising, now if the one on the river can learn the same tricks I might go back there! read more

Went about a month ago with a friend and her kids from out of town and it was a terrible experience. We waited an hour only to be told out order never went in. Then the server avoided us because she didn't know what to say. The kids never got their dessert because the server said it was too hard dr her to scoop. Umm what? So I email them to let them know and got a great call from a nice gentleman who said he wanted to make it right. We gave it another try the other night and were once again disappointed. My sons food was so burnt it was not edible, we ordered beers and were told they were out of clean glasses.. My husbands brisket sandwich has two tiny slivers of meet and came without the toppings. The jalapeño Margarita was pretty good. The food. ...um, well....not so much. The salsa tasted a lot like ketchup. We ordered the Buffalo chicken appetizer which was pretty good. I had the Tex Mex sampler. Quite honestly, it reminded me of Taco Bell, restaurant style. The roasted corn the came with the meal was borderline inedible. The service was okay. It took a while to get our server's attention to replace a dirty plate. It would be pretty hard to convince me to come back. read more

I've been to this location a few times. Generally it's pretty standard, but I tend not to go for lunches since it usually takes too long. However this last visit was pretty pathetic. I sat down at the bar, was the only one there, a few minutes later somebody came around to get my order. I finish my drink and am asked "are you ok?" And was confused at first, wondering if I looked disheveled so I said "yes" which to this bartender was apparently code for "ignore me from now on" a second gentleman sat down, same thing, until he payed and chewed out the bartender for ignoring him. At this point I think "maybe finally I'll get some service after that display". I was wrong. finally I just paid my tab and left. read more

I have been to this Tumbleweed twice recently, and have been disappointed both visits. Chips were so hard that even the kids complained. Food did not seem fresh - the burrito my girlfriend ordered was nearly all rice and beans, and she was sick for a short time after we left. Used to be a decent place to eat, but I will not be returning. read more

Ate here on margarita Monday. Got a 2nd margarita but didn't like it. Got banana & it did not taste like banana at all. I told my waiter I didn't want it and that it didn't taste right. He was awkward and quite and when I got my check I still had to pay for the 2nd margarita that I had only taken a sip of then sent back . He very rarely visited our table that I don't even remember his name. Food wasn't that great & definitely over priced. I'll go to a real Mexican restaurant next time. read more

I honestly wish I could give this restaurant zero stars. Is that a possibility? The salsa was absolutely horrific. Not only did it lack flavor, and have too much slimy cilantro in it, I found a cucumber. When I brought this to my servers attention she just seemed surprised and laughed. I didn't find it funny. I ordered the "famous queso" and it had been sitting in the window for so long it started to harden. The entire top of the bowl had congealed. When I finally got my steak after about an hour of waiting it was terribly overlooked. I like my steaks medium rare. This was well. Burnt. Crispy. When I requested the new steak the server rolled her eyes and I could hear the cooks in the kitchen yelling about the issue. Erica, whom I assume is a manager almost made me lose my appetite when she came to the table. Her clothes were wrinkled. She smelled like severe body odor and her teeth desperately need to be brushed. I unfortunately smelled her breath and it almost killed me. She was unprofessional, and seemed to be the product of a very uneducated family. Also, she needs to wear attire that fits her. She makes the entire restaurant look trashy. During my visit I also heard an extremely loud nasal sounding voice throughout my meal. I couldn't understand this. The kitchen it open to the dining room.
