The food is incredible here. I recommend the bacon apple lollipops they are always cooked perfectly and to die for. They have so many different options of coffee. The French toast is always so fluffy. It's definitely my first recommendation anytime someone says let's go get breakfast or lunch somewhere. read more

Great food !! 2 stars here's why! Walked in put my name in for 3 people 15 to 20 minutes, we were willing to wait. Others waking and going right to the tables. Then asked why and they told us about the check in app. Then she told us oh you have another 20 minutes these people used the app and now they are ahead of you. Wow this is how you run a business? Use the app to check people, that's the only way to get a table quick. Update to my review! I was contacted by customer service and they were wonderful. They sent us some coupons. Food here is okay but service is not so great. Especially with a waitress named Jenna. Extremely rude, inattentive, and extremely unprofessional. My appetizers came before the drinks even came out and when I asked a question about their food due to my allergies, she rudely shoved a phone in my face yelling at me amongst the other tables seated around me. My wife and I absolutely love it at Turning Point. All of the employees are so gracious and friendly, and the food is delicious. I want to give a very special note to the young lady who greeted us with the warmest welcome and was so respectful - her name is Sarah. I admit I was getting a bit annoyed about the wait and had shown it when I had spoke with Sarah - but She was so respectful and calm, and managed to get us seated quickly. Waitress with the interesting hair color was incredibly hostile and rude to me and my son for ZERO reason. Told her which way was up and started walking out (I've never before in my life done that) when the manager saw what was happening and stopped us and asked us to stay. This was my first time trying Turning Point, as the company recently made their way to Newtown! I had heard great things, thus my friend and I were looking forward to trying it out. Upon arrival, we were seated outside where waited for at least 15 minutes to be acknowledged by a member of the waitstaff. We sat and watched other customers who were seated after us be waited on first. We were hastily asked for our drink order by a waitress(?) who did not introduce herself. My friend ordered the iced vanilla chai tea, while I ordered the iced chai cafe. The first drink brought to us was a hot chai beverage. We told the woman who brought us this beverage what we had ordered, we were quickly brought two of the same drink- when we obviously ordered different things. Even so, we did not complain! Then we placed the order for our meal. My friend ordered the veggie omelette, while I ordered the avocado smashed benny with NO BACON (I am a vegetarian). While my friend's meal arrived as ordered, mine was presented with EXTRA BACON. I was brought a new serving of the same meal very quickly! (So quickly that it is hard to say whether or not the dish was new, or the same one with bacon removed). I was given no apology for this from the woman who took my order. In fact she did not speak to my friend and me again. I DID NOT COMPLAIN. When the bill was presented and I was charged $5.00 extra for the bacon I specifically asked not to have I had to ask for the manager. She removed the bacon from the bill, which was fine. Even so, I do not feel that I was properly compensated for my grievances. My friend and I will not return to any Turning Point location after this experience. read more

Food is only good if you're eating in the restaurant. I just picked up my to-go order and it was okay. My boyfriend did like his skillet but they forgot to use hollandaise sauce on the eggs benedict. It was plain and dry without having the sauce. I will not order take out again. read more

I've been a big Turning Point fan for a long time, even hiring away some of their great staff from time to time. But my experience at this Turning Point last Friday was enough for me to consider never returning to one again. I tried to go here two Sundays ago, but the line was more than an hour so went elsewhere. Returned for an early lunch on Friday at 11:30 am and was STILL a 20 minute wait. OK, fine - we waited. Finally got to the table and took a long time to be waited on. Ordered a simple half sandwich and cup of soup, as did my companion. Seemed to take 25 minutes for the order - a really long time. When it arrived, it was the smallest half sandwich I've ever seen - I would say 3-4 bites. The soup (corn chowder) was just a gluggy cup of glop, way too much corn and tasteless. Getting the check was another looooong wait, while many people were waiting to take our table. Looked like the line was an hour again. With service so slow, not a surprise. Given the wait and poor food quality, this place is so NOT worth it. And that's a shame because it used to be great. read more

Excellent food and surprisingly unique choices for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant was jammed when I got there at 12:30 PM. However there were vacant spots at the counter. I ordered the waffles with caramel and brown sugar topping. It was sensational,. I also ordered coffee which came with a pot to refill.Practically everyone dining there looked well-off, which means spending $15 for breakfast is no problem. We went to the place, we were there for more than 50 minutes waiting a table for 3 people. All the people that got at the place after us, got a table in like 15 minutes. When we went to ask the girl on the front about how many time we had to wait, she just told us for like 3 time they put us ahead. Great breakfast, great service, fresh pot of coffee for the table and a cup to go included if you wish. Newtown needed another breakfast alternative, particularly one that serves into the afternoon for the weekend sleep in days. Checking in on line helps bypass the wait line: great idea! Delicious food, fun shakes and coffee drinks. Able to accommodate large parties and kids. Has a counter to eat at too. Very busy on weekends so you may have to wait to be seated. The only downfall other than being a bit pricey is that it is very LOUD inside. It's difficult to hear over the din. Fun to try here at least once. read more

Was there on monday, and haven't been here in months and the last time i was here it was amazing! Can't say the same about this time. First off we were given dirty glasses for our water. After bringing it to our servers attention it took about 10 minutes for her to bring us new glasses, which weren't any better. By the time that we ordered our food they were getting busier so the wait for the food wasn't an issue. I remember the pancakes being nice and fresh and fluffy but this time they weren't: I ordered the lemon blueberry and all I tasted was blueberry. Very disappointing brunch there today. My husband ordered three eggs over easy, breakfast potatoes and sausage. His eggs were overcooked and not runny in the center as they ought to be, and the potatoes were undercooked and very bland looking. I had the turkey melt which was totally forgettable. The sourdough (?) bread base was blah, the one thin turkey slice atop was slimy as if it was processed turkey, and the cole slaw atop the turkey was too wet. Had an out of town guest in for the weekend. Took her to turning point for brunch on Saturday. I can't say enough good about the experience. I tried the eggs Benedictto. O. M. G. I really enjoy this new addition to Newtown and I think it was really needed in this area. There's a lot of places for adults and couples to eat, but TP is great for families. They have a fantastic variety of items in the menu and it's healthier than many of the area breakfast/lunch places. I especially like the organic coffee option. The staff is always extremely attentive and friendly. (I sit at the bar primarily, so Kelly, Melissa and Alyssa have become our favorites. Kinds of like having breakfast with family.) Don't bother calling ahead or getting your place in line on line. Mismanaged from what I could see. Spilt milk at large table as you walk in. Nobody cleans it. Customer did her best with a few napkins. Employees walked by with no acknowledgment. Nothing speacial worth waiting an hour for. Servers use rags to carry out hot plates. How about using a napkin.
