The band, called "Dayweather" was awesome and they covered all genres from Beatles to Weezer including a lot of mash ups, which were so much fun! The played three sets! We thought about going somewhere else but the music, dancing and overall vibe kept us there. There is table service and even for a busy night it was very good. There is a really nice patio too when it is not too hot out. This place doesn't feel too bougie like some of the places in Scottsdale -- this is where the real people of Scottsdale go to relax and let there hair down! It's a very not-Scottsdale Scottsdale bar, which is to say that it's down-to-earth, unpretentious and not too pricey. It has an incredibly strong live music program, with music at least once a day and twice on weekends during the summer, and twice daily during high tourist season. I've found that people--regulars and visitors--are friendly and easy to talk to. OTT is closing in this location and will be reopening in the old Back Door space directly behind it. The space will be larger, but I expect the cold drinks, great music and good vibes will transfer well.

Updated review: Outgrown…read more Definitely not the same spot I remember from when I used to frequent it. Stopped in a few times and unfortunately the vibe just isn't what it used to be for me. At one point I asked for change for pool and a water. The water showed up, the change never did. Not a huge amount of money, but little things like that leave an impression. A few of the bartenders have a certain je ne sais quoi.... unfortunately not the warm, welcoming kind. There's a level of attitude that just doesn't match my personal experiences or memories of this place. The crowd has changed too. Different energy, different vibe, and maybe just not one I blend with anymore. Suppose I've grown up and maybe it's time to move on. It's a shame because this place was genuinely a staple for me and earned those five stars once upon a time. Back then, it was the staff and the atmosphere that made it. Of the latest visits, the only person who carried that same familiar energy was Derek. He wasn't even behind the bar, but as always, it was a pleasure seeing him. As someone with tropical roots, I know good plantains. While they're not quite like the Caribbean, they definitely satisfied my tropical craving. The highlight of my visit was being surprised with a birthday ice cream sundae and a candle it was such a thoughtful touch. I'll definitely be back to try the tacos and the Arizona-brewed IPA. Now I realize that the 2026 was a Summer Olympics and Curling is part of the Winter Olympics, but we didn't care Upon entry to go to the host stand and tell them what you're looking to do (activities vs bar/waiting). The space is relatively open and you can immediately see the fully stocked bar, the bowling area, the back axe throwing lanes, and the enclosed curling lanes. We opted for a package that got us unlimited games (any) for an hour. We started with curling and we didn't need any special clothes or shoes. We were lead to a lane and it's set up like shuffleboard (you can stand on either side and there's two separate color stones). There's ice where you glide your stones and you stand on rubber for traction. You can glide by hand or use a piece of equipment that is essentially a stick to help push and guide your stone. There's an attendant on duty to help any stones that are stuck or that don't make it down the lane The experience was awesome. We've always wanted to try curling, but it's difficult to find somewhere that is set up to let you do that. We were amazed that we finally tried it in a desert of all places. There are no brushes like in typical curling, but you still get a sense of the Olympic activity. The bowling was fun too, but it's a smaller version like you might see in some novelty bars. Axe throwing was that of typical ax throwing. You had a couple different sizes of axes, there's lanes and you throw at a wooden target. They had computers to input your name and keep track of points. It was sometimes difficult to stick the wooden target, but it was fun We didn't try the food or drink, but everything looked good. The staff were very helpful. It was a weekend, and it wasn't overly crowded which was nice. Overall it was a fun experience Some tips: If your stones seem to be getting stuck down the lane, ask the attendant to move you to another lane. Seams to be a lot of regulars. I find both the bar staff and security staff to be friendly. Don't expect to find a nice wine or any but they have plenty of beer and can make most cocktails. They do have mini bottles of Cook's sparkling wine if you are looking for some bubbles but no prosecco. Hit it up for the holidays for the lights and fun crowds.

What was nice about the original Old Town Tavern is that it doesn't have the generic feel of most of the souless bars and clubs in the main entertainment district just North of this area.
