What always kept us coming back wasn't just the tasty food but the warm hospitality, especially from the owner, who consistently made guests feel valued. Unfortunately, our most recent experience left us questioning our loyalty. It all started around 5:10 PM when my mom called about seating for our party of eight, which included my parents and their five grandchildren. She spoke with Leo, who checked with a young man named Farkhad--about availability. After some back-and-forth, Leo confirmed that if we arrived by 5:30-5:35 PM, we'd have an indoor table. My mom thanked him, and we headed over. We arrived right on time, only to be told by a young hostess--who's always been courteous--that they only had outdoor seating. Confused, I mentioned our conversation with Leo. She apologized but stood firm that there was no room inside. That's when Farkhad stepped in, aggressively snapping, "There's NO ROOM inside!" My mom calmly reminded him of what Leo had said, but instead of listening, he yelled in front of the entire restaurant, including my parents and their grandchildren: "He told you there was NO ROOM!" His tone was hostile and completely uncalled for. I immediately asked him not to yell at my mom, but he defensively claimed, "That's just how I talk," while continuing to argue and escalate the situation. Things got even worse when Farkhad stepped toward my mom, invading her personal space until he was inches from her face. With a condescending smirk, he threw out a sarcastic "I'm sorry if you felt I yelled." This wasn't a misunderstanding--it was blatant disrespect. I firmly told him to back up and give her space, to which he arrogantly responded, "I was just apologizing." I made it clear: "You can apologize from over there. Back up." By this point, my mom--who's in her 60s--was visibly upset, and my family, including her grandchildren, stood there shocked and embarrassed. We left, completely disheartened. Hoping to address the situation calmly, my dad and I returned around 7:20 PM to speak with the owner. We saw him in the patio area and politely asked if he had a moment. He acknowledged us, said he'd be back after helping with something, and...never returned. We stood outside for over 15 minutes while he continued assisting other guests, passing us multiple times without so much as a follow-up. A simple "I'm busy right now, but let's connect later" would've sufficed. Instead, we were left standing there, ignored and disappointed. What made it worse? Farkhad was on the patio, acting perfectly polite and professional with other guests, clearly covering his tracks. He knew what he'd done and was putting on a show. This entire experience was more than just poor service--it was humiliating and unacceptable. Farkhad aggressive behavior toward my mom, especially in front of her grandchildren, was appalling. His "apology," dripping with attitude, only made it worse. This isn't just about one bad employee; it's about a breakdown in communication and care. The owner, usually so attentive, completely dropped the ball when we sought resolution. After 15 years of loyalty, I'm heartbroken to write this. I don't ever write reviews but the exceptional experience warrants a shout out. We're from the Pasadena area and wanted to get away from the smoke and ash. After a hike along the beach we decided on coming here for lunch. Hameed introduced himself when we were perusing the menu and walked through some of the highlights including the ingredients and how the meats are prepared. He suggested that we try the hummus, spinach dip, baba ghanoush, chicken and lamb. We ordered all of them and they were incredible! Seriously, this was the best middle eastern food I've ever had in the U.S. the meat was so tender and flavorful. Everything was so fresh and delish. My friends and I couldn't stop marveling about how fresh snd tasty the food was. It was very obvious that Hameed puts great care into his food. Came with my wife and son on a weekend afternoon. The place was pretty empty so we sat outside so we can enjoy the sunset views. We ordered the lentil soup, chicken kabob plate, tofu kabob plate, and the chocolate tart for dessert. We shared the soup which was creamy and well seasoned. It was served with a side of bread that we enjoyed dipping in the soup. My wife really enjoyed her chicken plate, which I tried and thought was pretty good. The tofu, however, I did not enjoy. The sauce on it was like a sweet, tangy pomegranate, which just didn't sit right for me. It was overwhelming, and there was so much of it that it got on everything on the plate. I think if their tofu was just marinated and seasoned like the chicken with some lemon or something, it would be a lot more enjoyable. The chocolate tart was enjoyable as it is served with ice cream. My wife liked their flowery rosewater tasting ice cream, and I enjoyed the chocolate part. Overall food was okay and servers are very friendly and welcoming. There are fewer items on the menu I would order now however the hummus is absolutely delicious- the addition of some pomegranate juice makes all the difference. The baba ghanoush served with homemade pita bread is probably the best that I have had in a very long time. I also had the wild Scottish salmon with a Mediterranean salsa for my entree and it was cooked to perfection and to my preference. You can certainly taste the fresh difference with their use of mostly organic and natural ingredients. The food and friendly service were definitely spot on. Never again. I came here for lunch with my mom a few years ago, and it was....acceptable. Flat. Fine, but not worth discussing either way. I came with my partner last night, around 8. We were seated, and then IGNORED. We watched the server in our section attend to a table behind us that had been there for a while, but after 20 minutes of zero contact, we watched him get water, drink orders & apps for a table immediately next to us that arrived well after we did, I was done. They have great seating indoors and outdoors, so you can bring your dog, if you're eating outside. The food is Mediterranean, and yes, the food is good. Stellar! I'm Iranian and grew up in LA most my life, Turquoise is honestly one of the best Persian restaurants I've been to. Zeytoon Parvardeh and Baba Ghanoush were incredible. Came here for lunch with friends and we were one of two groups at the restaurant. There was 1 hostess for the entire restaurant and even with only 2 parties, the service was on the slower side. We ordered the pita and hummus appetizer and it wasn't bad. My friend kept describing it as refried beans because thats what it looked like. It was different peta and hummus than usual. The hummua was really ground up and the pita was a stale chip consistency. I would've preferred regular pita and hummus but it was unique so ill give it that. I ordered the salmon panini but with chicken instead of salmon and im glad they were able to accommodate. I thought it was really good. Came with a side salad and random pink ginger... weird. My friends got the chicken panini and one liked it and the other did not. She was concerned by how yellow the chicken was. When their sandwiches came, the chicken looked like egg it was so yellow. Overall, glad we tried some place new but we all said we wouldn't go back. Parking is never easy in the Riveria because its meters and always packed. read more

There wasn't a table available inside for 3, and it was too cold outside, but they squeezed us into a table for 2. It worked! Smaller menu than I was expecting. We ordered a salad with grilled salmon, and 2 of the chicken sandwiches. To start, we had the spinach yogurt dip. That was the best part of the meal. Service was pretty slow (although a manager or owner did stop by to chat, which was nice). The rest of the food was pretty average - think there are better options in the South Bay. To say that Turquoise is a "great" restaurant--that's a complete understatement. Why? Turquoise is a priceless gem, and each time we're there we LOVE it. It's always a phenomenal experience. My husband Gary and I have been going to Turquoise for 8+ years now...and oh my goodness, the dishes there are STILL so fresh, so flavorful, so mouthwatering--just incredibly delicious! You name it--from the savory chicken kabob, the oh-so-tender lamb kabob, that fresh wild salmon bursting with flavor, to the ultimate showstopper: the koubideh kabob (oh goodness, that luscious grass-fed freshly ground sirloin kabob will have you making endless 'mmmm' noises). There's so much to enjoy at Turquoise--I'm not kidding. By the way, I'm going to be regularly updating this review--I have plenty more of the dishes at Turquoise that I'd love to recommend! In the meantime, to me, what supercharges Turquoise's dishes so much are the incredibly fresh flavors...I mean from the first bite, you can right away tell it's all high quality, top-notch and each dish is prepared with loads of love and care. I've been here a couple times and I love the food...So delicious and healthy and fits within my macros. Because of this I decided to go again today. Door was open, tables were set with one woman sitting alone eating and texting on her phone. Her back turned to me. I walked to the register and picked up a menu, reading through it for a couple of minutes while I waited patiently for someone to notice and greet me. All of a sudden I hear a voice speak out and say rudely "we are not open yet" I turn in the direction of the voice...it's coming from the woman eating alone. (It was obvious that she was not in a good mood) I say "oh okay, I'm sorry...when do you open?" "In 5 minutes" she says. Then she says nothing...just looking at me...Waiting. I'm feeling very uncomfortable at this point, like I should go outside and wait 5 minutes and then come back inside ...but then I was like "are you kidding me!" it was so unwelcoming and I felt like a dog being kicked out. Eww! No thank you! I want to feel welcome when I go out to eat! She could have been pleasant, informing me that they are not open yet but offering me a table while I wait 5 minutes. The owners take a great deal of pride in their food outsourcing the highest-quality ingredients for the best outcome of food. You can instantly tell how passionate they are about simple and elegant food. No frills here. Just honest and delicious meals. I've had every single panini here and the salmon is my favorite. Went to turquoise around 8:45pm on Friday. It was dead. They were out of the koubideh so I ordered the lamb. It was good but not the greatest and the rice and roasted veggies were just ok. The service was fine but I didn't like that I had to run my cc myself. I don't want to self serve at a nice restaurant and still pay a tip. There really wasn't any ambience and too brightly lit.
