This office left me hanging! First I went in to have a tooth extracted as a step towards an implant and it wasn't until I was in the chair and all ready that the dentist told me he couldn't do it. He wanted to send me to a specialist in case the tooth cracked. I went to specialist and he had no problem getting the tooth out and there was no cracking. Then I called to set up an appointment to get the rest of the work set up to be completed and his office staff told me that since a grievance was filed against him that he no longer wanted me as a patient. The staff lied about what the grievance was about and then said that there was no trust anymore. Now I have to find a new dentist to finish up the work. Total jerk. Had I not called, I would have never known as they did not have the decency to call me themselves. read more

Is it so hard in this day and age to call an office and ACTUALLY find a receptionist that's useful? Because you certainly won't find it here at Tustin Dental Care. I called the office asking if I could make an appointment with them and the receptionist, Crystal, checked some list she had and my name wasn't on it. Of course it wasn't because I'm not assigned to it but I have insurance that they accept and I had asked her how I could go and be a patient there. Well after she concluded that her job only consisted of reading off names that are on a list instead of actually trying to contact the insurance provider and be useful in any sort of way, I decided to give my provider a call (yet again) to see how to assign myself to this office. She kept telling me I could get to a live person in the automated phone system, but I had tried 3 times and had been unsuccessful because the options were very limited. I called her back and after giving me some incredible attitude like I was incompetent or something, asked for my information and said she would call me back to check. Finally, I thought, she can actually do her job for once. Well, if you think you'll get great customer service here then you certainly won't find it. When I finally got a call back from Crystal she told me that I was wrong and that there was an option for me to assign myself to their office and that I "simply had to listen to the menu" as if to say I didn't just spend the last half hour trying to do that on my own. All she said before the end of the voicemail was that, again, she wasn't able to do anything for me. Well she was right. She certainly cannot do anything for me nor can she really do anything at all except answer phone calls with the worst attitude. It surprises me how people can be employed as the face of an office and still have terrible customer service, but I guess this is just a forewarning for the kind of service you can expect to receive in this office. Thank goodness I was assigned to someplace better, with far more credibility, and friendlier office staff. I'll be sure to steer clear from this establishment when there are better options out there. read more

Hi, I just want to say Cindy was extremely empathetic and very helpful. She guided me through process of getting veneers, which ended up being a very traumatic experience for me. I did have some issues with 1 dentist there who did not communicate clearly or with care/ and my veneers were not right the first 2 times. But I requested a different dentist and was much happier with the final result. The staff working there were helpful and friendly. But I think Cindy deserves a raise, for handling delicate and sensitive matters, the way she does. Thank you. read more

Dr Fabmy is the best! I'm not a good patient and have HIGH ANXIETY, going to the dentist! He and his staff are very kind and fast! They get me in the chair and out quickly! Clinicians and doctors were good. But the office staff applied the wrong benefits and charged me copays that I didnt owe. I worked business office insurance billing and contracts. I know my benefits and they quote something else. Im a senior and they used incorrect procedure code verified by insurance and refuse to refund or acknowledge they hsve the incorrect contract benefits in their system with medicare delta dental. Im on fixed income and they will not respond. Delta said their flagged and to fike grievance and recommended a new dentist office that will respect and listen or even investigate the issue. Sorry to lose hygenist and Dr Fahmy but I trusted them and its becoming clear they dont even respect the contract or explanation of benefits. I had a deep cleaning where maintenance is $0 but they charged $45 for 2 more regular cleaning costing me $90 a yr when should be $0. read more

People call me a masochist when I tell them I like going to the dentist. In fact, I fall asleep when I hear the high speed drill. The low speed one, except for when it jerks my head, has somewhat the same effect. I needed a tooth extracted. a filling, and a crown etc.. This time, with my new dental plan, I had to change dentists so here I am. I hadn't been to the dentist in a while. I was seen by Dr. Fahmy at this spiffy facility. He explained all my options for a good treatment plan. Everything from the first phone call till my follow up appointment was very professional. He has a nice front office staff, and they will explain all the charges clearly and will work with payment options. Tustin Dental takes several insurance plans, you can pay by credit card, or get your treatment financed through Chase Bank. My Aetna Dental Insurance plan sucks, though. So though I've been trying to lose weight, it's my wallet that's a LOT lighter. When it comes to fillings, I actually prefer to have no novocaine. That's because if I get done and go someplace, I drool.and have a speech impediment. Well, since this was going to be an extraction as well of another tooth, I had to get shot up. I was just getting sleepy when the doc came in with that big fat needle.. The doctor was very skilled shooting me up. There was just s slight discomfort when he had to pierce and shoot my gums and upper lip. Hey, my nerves are alive and well, and my nose quivered.. Time to get back to a nap on the chair. The extraction was a good fight but the dentist prevailed. Actually, he did a really nice job. My blood, clotted well. (PS, don't take aspirin, bromelain, or other substances that might prevent clotting within a week before). I am very picky to whoever does my extractions - they have to be physically strong enough to get the leverage to pull firmly. I once had an older woman dentist do a root canal and there was blood everywhere. At 5 feet tall, about 100 pounds, and retirement age, she just didn't have the leverage to pull. A cool thing about this place is that they have the newest equipment. Your ex rays are digital, and they show up almost instantly after they're taken. No old equipment here. You might have to wait during the busier times, like the end of the day. The music they play is classic rock and old school soul. No instrumental movie songs to torture you. The only thing that hurt was my useless dental insurance plan Otherwise, I'm healing well though I'm suppsed to rest - I played tennis all weekend long. . read more

Let's face it, going to the dentist just flat out sucks, but I must say that I love love love my dentist. I no longer dread going in to get my teeth checked. Dr. Fahmy and his assistant Dariel have to be some of the nicest people I have ever met. To top it all off, they are really good at what they do. I went in for a check up last week and had a great experience. They are both very kind and really make you feel at ease while you're sitting in that big, intimidating, unpleasurable chair. They use digital x-rays, so you are able to see your teeth on a computer screen right away. They take the time to sit with you and are very thorough when explaining your x-rays to you. I go back for a cleaning and to have 2 little cavities attended to in 2 weeks. Considering that I haven't been in over 2 years (bad, bad!) my teeth aren't that bad. They also have an orthodontist onsite. I'm interested in Invisalign, so Dr. Fahmy suggested that I see him when I'm ready. I would give these guys 10 stars if I could. I would highly recommend. They take insurance, so if he is on your list you should choose him. read more

The Dentist are friendly and know how to treat their customers, but becareful of the front staff in regards to billing issues. They will quote you prices that sounds reasonable, but aways double check the prices with your insurance company especially by asking for the CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, and then calling your insurance company about the pricing. read more

Don't recommend this place if you have insurance all they do is play games and ticks. They tell you one story and another story. Is not worth it all they want is money. Right out of the pocket and. these jerks had me waiting 25min. in the lobby and another 20min. in the chair and nobody said anything to me. i had an appointment and they just did not seem to care! It was not even busy. The first time i went they had to do an examination and COULD NOT do the cleaning at the same time, they made me reschedule for a cleaning on my first visit when that was why i made the appointment in the first place. All to come in and wait 45 min. before i just left ! i walked out and never got so much as a phone call or email from these idiots! i left my blue bib on the chair and walked out having an appointment and they did not even notice, i bet they still charged my ins. for the visit. so many better places avail. stay away :-( read more

Well, I see I'm not the only one who is a poster child of dental er, "challenge". But I'm glad to see we've all come to the right place. I agree with the others posting that Dr. Fahmy was surely first in his class at anesthetizing, and please take my word that I speak from years of experience long before I found him. I also agree with the other writers that he is caring and compassionate. He is also witty, and can take sarcasm as though he lives for the quip. I've become a huge fan of the digital films, and the fact that a monitor is overhead so you can actually look at the xrays with him-- compare old to new, diagnose yourself [as I was jokingly charged with doing]. The bottom line is, I trust him with a lifelong challenge that requires serious medical attention, and hope I never have to switch. read more
