Struggling to understand the lack of service completeness. The pandemic forced us all to reset our expectations of service providers, in many places there is less staff, less resources, and wait times are longer. Tonight we celebrated my friends birthday. We all ordered our drinks, I did not get the beer I ordered but I rolled with it. When server takes order for starters we ordered two different ones. She specifically stated if we were ready to order entrees we could and she would stagger it to ensure it did not all come out at once. That is one of my biggest dining out pet peeves. The place was busy so we understood there would be a wait. And she may have realized that nothing was coming out to us if she had checked on the table at all from time she took order for food and when she brought out the main dishes. No starters, no comment about them, no refills on water. For those at table only drinking water it feels like punishment. When I mentioned the starters she said she was unsure, I politely stated you mentioned that you would be staggering the order. Server blamed the kitchen and the problems they were having. Possible, but unnecessary. We were more than half way through the main course when she brings out the starters. Waste of food, time, and money. No one wants that now, that's why they are starters. No comment from manager, no offer to adjust bill, had to ask for water refill. We need to do better. There are still tough moments in our world but we could try a little harder to offer service we would expect ourselves. Mistakes happen, the apathy is what is most troubling. read more

I went to Twisted Fork Grill and Bar twice during my last trip to Omaha. The first time I was there I was going to just have a drink and enjoy the patio while waiting for a friend to arrive. The happy hour specials for food and drinks I decided to have an appetizer too. Went here in a recommendation from my SIL. Did not disappoint We got the mushroom scampi for an appetizer which was amazing and yummy! Meals I got the chicken lettuce wraps which was amazing. Lots of cHicken, fresh jalapeño and lots of amazing flavor. My friend got the chicken pichu that came with risotto and Brussel sprouts. I was in town with a big group of 20+ people for work. I called twisted fork to see if they could accommodate us pre-ordering our food for a sit down lunch that would need to be ready upon arrival and they executed perfectly. My group was in a rush and they labeled everyone's seat and knew exactly who got which lunch. The salads are awesome, sandwiches are hearty and the fries are great. Would really recommend this place, it was delicious and the staff was so helpful and friendly. They made my day so much easier by being so accommodating. read more

So disappointed. The spinach and artichoke dip tasted like canned cream of chicken soup with spinach and not very warm. It also had Zero artichokes. The Pot roast special was good but luke warm. The chicken and risotto was just not good. The risotto was "garlic salty" not a fresh garlic taste and too salty to eat so it was left on the plate. Service was okay but the restaurant was not at all all busy and we were never asked about our meal to make our concerns to the management. Best advice...Skip it. read more

When we arrived we had to wait for about 10 minutes to be seated. I ordered the Smoked Gouda Mac with steak, very good and different. We also ordered buffalo wings that were amazing! Food took awhile to arrive to the table, probably about 40 minutes. read more

Laviana (from Hawaii and apologize for spelling) the bartender was awesome tonight and the food was great. We had last call at 850 while we were still eating and another rude waitress came by at 905 and told us we are close time to go. Bartender apologized for that but never going back. Apparently manager was not working or that was the one who spoke to us. Served food and 5 minutes later asked to leave! I hate to give it a 2 but that rude girl should be fired (not the great bartender). read more

Nasty, dry and tasteless ‍ the experience was bad, starting with the waitress and her lack of personality. I got the Gouda mac & cheese with lobster and bacon and they didn't put the bacon in there and they charge $10 for the lobster but it was maybe 10 little tiny flakes. The food did not have any seasoning you couldn't even see pepper flakes or any seasoning at all. This place is horrible and I will never go back and I don't recommend you go at all. read more

I was hungry... damn hungry... and this place looked to fit the bill. Clean, open, good-looking menu, and a little bit of hipster style. Unfortunately, I would have been better off elsewhere. The bartender seemed put off that I was sitting at the bar to eat, even though it was only about 5:30, so definitely not prime time for alcohol. And, the bar was only half full! I ordered the Smoked Bacon Ranch Burger, which oddly enough had no smokiness. The plating looked nice, and I hoped I was in for a surprise after the arrogance of the bartender. Unfortunately, I was not surprised. The burger lacked any flavor, like no spices, no salt, no nothing! Every great burger has a unique set of spices that sets it apart from plain beef, but obviously this is not a great burger. The bacon also appeared to be boiled or something, as there was zero crispiness; again, no flavor. How do you take the flavor out of bacon? And, to round off the dinner, the fries were limp and tasteless. I ate about half my dinner and left the rest to go have a cigar next door. The woman there said that Twisted Fork has been struggling with consistency and I would have to agree. read more

It was a smokin' hot and humid day in the Old Market and we ducked into Twisted Fork for a late lunch and some a/c. We started with the wings as an app. 8 wings, well-sauced and appropriately spicy, with ranch and blue cheese dressing. The BLT and the Club were excellent. The bread on the BLT was soft on the inside and served warm. My friend didn't care for the chipotle mayo. The Club was a good combo of flavors and textures - toasty bread, melty cheese, great sauce. And the sweet potato fries were perfect! The lettuce wraps were disappointing. The blackened chicken was dry, even with the cilantro cream, and the black bean and corn salsa tasted like it had canned tomatoes in it. I expected them to be handheld, but they needed to be eaten with a fork. Our server was lovely and friendly, but a little slow to get our order and refill our beverages, especially for 3 pm on a Thursday afternoon. With all the options in the Old Market, Twisted Fork can (and should) step up their game and stand out. read more

Located in the downtown of old market it has a really cool atmosphere. We were able to walk in and get a table pretty quickly. The atmosphere inside twisted fork is pretty cool. Has a nice rustic vibe. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive. The food was average and a little bland. We got the french dip and since they ran out of french fries I got brussel sprouts. We also got the special of the day which was spaghetti with meatballs. The meatballs were pretty dry and the sauce was a little bland. The french dip was ok, but a little bland as well. The brussel sprouts were undercooked. Food was just average. read more

We are in Omaha for the CWS and walked down for dinner. The patio was empty with all tables available except one table. We asked for a table of 10 and she immediately said she couldn't seat us. I said not even outside, it's empty. She said no, unfortunately they can't split us up into two tables. It's only unfortunate for you as you are willing to turn away service for 10 meals and not even willing to accommodate. What a shame! read more

The atmosphere​​ was decent, but it is really unfortunate when the best part of your meal is the cold side of sweet potatoes or the side salad. We both ordered steaks and having ​a gluten allergy I did appreciate the designated gluten-free​ menu, though I do think the waitresses could have used some education as to what that meant. The waitresses seemed disinterested and preoccupied​ when the food finally arrived it was cold and overcooked​. Neither my boyfriend or I finished our meal as it lacked flavor and was difficult to eat. Side note: We were driving through as a part of our road trip and had my dog with us. Mediocre food for price, service is what puts a bad taste in the mouth. Service is slow, servers also rarely check in to see how food is, don't ask to refill beverages or refill anything. Amazing this place is still open with such a miserable wait staff. Why do they work here if they don't enjoy their job? Why management doesn't want to make more money selling beer if they see empty cups? Waste of a meal, disappointing. Should have walked out when I noticed the dirty menus and sticky tables, should have listened to the red flags. No care or love is put into the business. read more

If you're looking for the quintessential "Omaha Restaurant," Twisted Fork is your answer! Twisted Fork is also centrally located in Old Market which makes it the perfect restaurant for visitors! The restaurant is pretty small, so make sure to make a reservation if you will be visiting during a busy time! The menu, I think, is the perfect size and has the perfect variety of options. I ordered the grilled cheese (I'm a 10-year old, I know) with sweet potato fries and it was dang good. The sweet potato fries were also so AMAZING that I took just the leftover fries home. I also had a few Moscow mules which were great as well! Overall, we had a great night filled with good food and drinks. read more

Food was alright. I had the strawberry chicken salad. Comes with blue cheese dressing. Dressing lacked flavor and only had a couple pieces of blue cheese in it. The drinks were really good. Cactus margarita with raspberries had actual fresh berries muddled in it. Atmosphere was just alright. My friend and I sat at the bar with a less than enthusiastic bartender waiting on us. Had a reservation downtown and was seated right away. Our server was nice and helped us pick out drinks, took our order and then waited an hour for our food. Tables being sat after us had already ate and payed before we got our food. We placed our credit card out to pay (before we got our food) because we had plans after dinner. The waiter took our card and then proceeded to wait for our food for another 10 mins. After we received our food we didn't see our server again. The food was good but nothing spectacular. My husband had to walk up to the bar to ask for to go boxes. We probably will not go again. read more

There are SO many good places in the old market I'd skip this one --pricey bar food. My salmon was raw and I mean RAW --I sent it back and it came back RAW so I ate the ends chicken pot pie was good and burger was average at best. Bill was near triple digits we each had a beer or two (three of us) so too much for what you get. read more

I was not very impressed with this place. We had lunch here on a Saturday. The first bad sign was that the men's bathroom was dirty. The urinal & floor was a mess and smelled terrible. There was no holder for the paper towels, they were just set on the sink and were wet. I also noticed the candle holders on the tables were not clean and had old food in them. I ordered the "Famous buttermilk fried chicken salad". The chicken was overcooked and didn't really have any flavor. The pesto buttermilk dressing was delicious though. I also tried some of the Gouda mac & cheese and it was very good. The server seemed a little inexperienced, for example she asked if we had room for desert when we were not even half way through our meals. With all the great options that are available in the Old Market, I probably won't try this place again. read more

Been here a couple times now... always a good experience. The decor and interior keep with the theme of Old Market..old. I love the idea of keeping original items or at least making it looks like its been there for a while. They have a full bar and plenty of alcohol options. Food-wise, i've only been for lunch and they have plenty of options. Most recently I had the Club sandwich. It was good... not very hard to mess up turkey, bacon and other items that come with a club sandwich. read more

Such a great spot for brunch, lunch, or dinner, especially on a nice day outside. We like sitting and eating on their patio. I always get the Mac an Cheese w/ vegetables. We stopped by after a morning of play at the Gene Leahy mall and we were turned away. We had two families of four so it felt like they were doing it because of the four children. My experience at TF was a little off because right before the meal came, I had an onslaught of congestion and consequently couldn't taste for the remainder of the meal. I did, however, package up my food (blackened chicken pasta special) to go and ate it later at home. Of course I realize that some of the flavor was no doubt lost in the translation from the restaurant stove to my microwave and toaster oven at home, but I was still pleased. More importantly than the food though, I found the restaurant decor especially intriguing. I'd never seen a goat head on the wall before and while animal heads freak me out a little in general, I found that the bearded billy's benevolent face was okay (as long as I imagined he had a body to go with it behind the wall...) I was much more a fan of the paper mache trophy heads on the adjacent wall. But all in all, it was a good experience, though it made me long for the days of Butsy le Doux. I'd go back to TF and try again if someone wanted to - but next time not during cold season. read more

I got the parmesan steak sandwich with a side of fries. Sandwich was under-seasoned and I felt like I could have made this sandwich for a fifth of the price. The fries were very good! Well seasoned and crispy. Service was good as well. Our server was very nice and fast.
