A bunch of us tried the chicken wrap, lamb wrap, lamb rice bowl and lamb sandwich and every single item was 5 stars! Falafels pretty big but moist... I don know if it's because we took the food out that it wasn't crispy. But it was still great flavor The spicy sauce, garlic and chef sauce were all amazing!! Hummus was great and so fresh too. I don't usually write reviews, but after searching for Döner in the Northeast, Midwest, and California ever since visiting Germany, this is the only place I've found that serves good German Döner. I usually leave a note in the special instructions ("mit allem und scharf") at every place I try. When the owner chuckled after he read it, I knew it wouldn't disappoint. With large delicious portions, fresh ingredients, bread made with flour imported from Germany, you can tell the owners care about the food they serve and are dedicated to doing their best to bring the German fast food staple to American customers in an elevated manner. Something else surprising: one of the owners was working in the front alongside the staff. The Döner itself was as I remember and really good. The only two things about it: 1. maybe be a little bit more sauce but that's a personal preference 2. a sprinkle of Aleppo pepper (pul Biber). read more

This place has the best döner kebab sandwich that I've had so far anywhere in California. My favorite is the sandwich and I usually get it as a combo since their fries are also spectacular! Crispy and well seasoned. I love the selection of artisan fountain sodas (made with cane sugar instead of the usual, horrible high fructose corn syrup that is more commonly served). Both the chicken and the beef/lamb döner meat taste great! The bread is toasted to perfection on a panini press and the sauces are awesome! I usually go with the original, but if you like a little spicy you can try the chef's special and if you are looking for a unique taste, the tahini sauce is great too! If you're looking for an authentic German style döner sandwich, this is the place! Conveniently located right at the exit off Ventu Park Rd. from the 101 fwy. They also have abundant parking which is very convenient. The owners are also super cool and the staff very friendly and attentive. This place makes it on my highly recommended list! Since you read this far, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Come closer...they are also open super late in case any late night cravings creep up on you. read more

Disappointing. I was so looking forward to a yummy salad tonight. I ordered 2 Doner salads: beef and lamb for my son and the other with chicken for myself. My son liked his salad ok - even though both salads had only a few tiny pieces of tomato and cucumber in it...it was mainly lettuce, cabbage, and red onion. The main reason I didn't enjoy my salad was because the chicken was so dry!! With all of the 5***** reviews this took me by surprise. First time dining here and it was really good! I got the chicken Döner Box with fries inside. The portion was large and could have been shared. The only thing that I would recommend is getting the tzatziki on the side since they put a large amount on everything including the fries. I would have preferred the fries to be separate since they were amazing and very crunchy and fresh. They also have cool fountain soda choices like pineapple. I've found my new obsession! This place came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. For a fast food place, this place takes the cake. The beef and lamb sandwich is delicious, staff on a Saturday night are very friendly and helpful, and the place is very clean. The servings are large, I couldn't finish all my food. I left full and happy. Worth the price, as it is a little on the pricey side. I can tell that they really care about the business and how it presents. 5 stars! We placed an online delivery order here tonight through Yelp, but when it arrived, we were missing our drinks & fries combo add-ons as well as the hummus from our pita hummus plate. We reached out directly to Twisted Meats on their website, and Lars responded immediately and asked us to call him. We explained the mishap, and he instantly offered to bring us our missing items himself. Less than 20 minutes later, he was at our door with them, and he even threw in an extra few sauces and baklava for us as an apology, which was so nice and absolutely not expected. It's lovely to get everything right on the first try, but it's downright impressive when you deal with a minor mistake as swiftly and efficiently as Lars did for us tonight. He was polite and courteous, and within 20 minutes we had our full order. I know it's not easy to succeed in the restaurant business, and in a competitive market, it can be hard to stand out. Offering such excellent customer service like this is not easy, especially on a Saturday night, but boy, does it make a difference! I encourage you all to try this lovely establishment, and be sure to meet Lars if he's there, he's wonderful! Oh, and by the way, the food is incredible! Best döner I've had since I lived in Germany! Husband and I flew into Burbank yesterday to kick off a road trip up HWY 1. We were looking for a lunch spot on our way out of LA and saw the reviews for this place so decided to stop in. MY. GOD. am I glad we did. I decided on a chicken sandwich with the dill sauce, all the veggies (except white onion) and added feta. It was a sort of a "if it doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face" situation, so make sure to get a lot of napkins. The bread was deliciously chewy and a little crunchy on the outside. The sauce was out of this world good and the veggies were fresh and a delicious addition. I would definitely recommend upgrading to that feta because it was also perfect on the sandwich. Husband got the beef and lamb rice bowl with all the veggies and the dill sauce as well. Also amazing though he said the rice was a bit undercooked for his taste, I ain't gonna knock them for that because the food was just THAT GOOD. We also ordered fries and the falafel side. Fries were battered, perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the middle and well seasoned. Falafels we're also perfectly crispy on the outside and pillowy soft and moist on the inside and absolutely delicious. I would 100% order falafels in a sandwich or wrap in the future. I told the cashier to surprise me on the sauces for the falafel side so we got the spicy and the original. I cannot hype their sauces enough. Spicy was perfect spice level and the original was also incredibly tasty. I ended up skipping the ketchup that comes with the fries and dipping them in those delectable sauces as well. On top of everything the staff were all incredibly nice and courteous and the restaurant itself is kept very clean with a nice patio area to eat outside. I'm bummed that we're already a hundred miles away from this place because I wish I could go back again today. Great to have a fast casual restaurant in Newbury Park. The guys are hard at work behind the counter. Food comes out great every time. Been here twice now and ordered different items. First time visiting here today as this restaurant had only opened up 2 weeks ago. Short story, I will be back - maybe tomorrow. Super friendly service, spotless and bright interior, though not a ton of seating. I ordered a Döner wrap with the lamb/beef, everything veggies, and chef sauce. The wrap is huge, but not heavy like a burrito. Plenty of fresh vegetables and the lavash is thin and light. Probably should have only eaten half for lunch, but flavors were such that I could not stop. Falafel is available as a vegetarian option, will certainly have to try theirs soon. read more
