Honestly so good. After having eating $1 (now $1.50) pizza for so long and trying to convince myself it's still as good as it was 5 years ago, the plain cheese slice is so much better. Came for lunch around 2:30pm on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. Ordered a cheese slice and it hit the spot. The pizza was warmed up in the oven and came out piping hot. The crust was crisp and thin but enough substance to hold the cheese and not have it fall apart. There were different toppings on the table like chili flakes, garlic powder, and more which I definitely sprinkled on my slice. My sisters & I all came here after I came across this place on TikTok or Instagram. Unfortunately, the AC wasn't working, so it was very unbearable to sit inside. We ended up ordering a bunch of slices and sat near the front door. The guy who was taking our order was kind enough to offer us some water bottles. I ordered takeout from this place while at the gym so I could save time. Said order would take about 25-30 minutes. I got to the restaurant halfway through and was making calls while waiting, I went to the counter at 35 mins and the order still needed more time. I got two 10" pizzas which were way smaller than expected. After I ordered I saw a pizza that I thought I did not see on the menu. Turns out each location has their own house specialty! This long standing NYC institution has only become more hipster- however with a variety of gluten free and vegan options. I opted for a classic pepperoni slice right before 2am and the line was as long as ever. Great vibes and service from the staff and the pizza was absolutely delicious. Found out about this place because Dash and Lily was filmed here! Had no idea this was the exact location but so glad I happened to choose this location! I absolutely love the interior of the place, with its bold color choices and whimsy that makes it so fun and exciting! The pizza was also so good and cheap and I loved sitting in the booth where Boomer and Lily met! The name is also so cleverly thought out because they merge Italian and Louisiana inspired flavors which are both boot shaped places! It's not really the food but it has gone down in quality as well. They stop making cheese pizza two hours before they close. The worker who looked like a twink recommended I get a slice from somewhere else XD When I asked for a box to carry out instead of a flimsy paper bag that will be soaked in grease he didnt want to give it to me until I basically begged for it. It's the one with mild marinara sauce, with spinach, roasted garlic, parmigiano, provolone & mozzarella. The sauce is so garlicky, not too sweet, not too salty, just perfect. Paired with the crispy crust, subtle cheeses, roasted garlic pieces and spinach - it's to die for! If you love garlic, this is the slice for you! I'll order this next time even without the TGTG app! Garlic knots are a bit too thick and bready for my liking and pepperoni slice was standard. All in all good experience, service was quick and friendly. Quick grub spot on a Friday evening. Decided to go with the indoor seating. The vibe of the place is pretty cool and has a throwback Thursday feel. Ordered the Vegan Slice (just for kicks) along with a Buffalo chicken slice, garlic bread and spinach cheese and jalapeño Bomboni(??) When the order arrived , we found a Margarita slice instead of the chicken one. (Oh well) Ate it anyway. I was actually impressed by the Vegan slice. Could be easily fooled if you told me it was regular cheese. The base by themselves were okay. It was a decent pizza slice. Margarita topping was good too. Was not impressed by the garlic bread but my oh my that stuffed pasty thing was so good(sorry I don't remember what's it called) . Would definitely stop by to get that buttery flaky goodness. I have been to this location once (I've also been to the West Village location), a few years ago when I was in town for the Del Close Marathon and was spending a lot of time at UCB East (RIP). We needed something quick to eat to get back to shows and keep us going, and we wandered in to Two Boots randomly, and I'm so glad we did. The pizza is across the board fantastic, the cornmeal crust being especially of interest. They have a ton of options for slices whenever you stop in, including a handful of vegan options. I love that there's more than one or two! You can't go wrong with any slice they have. The employees are cool and friendly, and the vibe of the whole place is really funky. Honestly, it's a joy to be in there. I don't spend a lot of time in either Village, but when I do, I know I have to stop in. read more
