So funny story--we originally came to Two Chicks thinking it was a chicken joint but quickly realized it's actually a breakfast/brunch spot. We decided to come back another time, and I'm glad we did! We came on a Sunday around 11 AM and planned to get takeout. The place was packed (which is always a good sign), and we overheard the hostess saying there was a 35-minute wait for dine-in. The interior is super cute--bright, clean, and welcoming with lots of seating. We ordered the egg whites with Parmesan hashbrowns and sourdough toast, plus the chicken fried steak. Both meals were prepped really well and traveled great. The egg whites were fluffy and flavorful, and the Parmesan hashbrowns? Amazing. I'd never had them before but now I'm hooked. The chicken fried steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. The only letdown was that it didn't come with gravy, which we were expecting--but it was still really tasty on its own. Also, I asked for condiments and didn't get any jelly for the toast, though they did include a mango butter that was a nice surprise. I didn't know there was a second location to Two Chicks until I was in this part of town. 9:30am, came here and got seated right away. The inside was well decorated with cute light fixtures and lots of posters on the walls. My friend got the cappuccino and their special of the day which was the bay shrimp omelet while I got a chai tea latte with the vegan skillet. Both of our food came with toast and their seasonal whipped peach butter which was divine! I asked for a hot chai tea latte and our server got it wrong and fixed my order before I even asked. Visiting Reno, I wanted to try a breakfast spot that we don't have in Las Vegas. I went to few places that were just too busy. After giving up, I found this place and decided to wait in the long line. Although the line was long, they got me in fairly quickly. I actually ordered the half-sized breakfast yesterday because I wasn't that hungry and it was the perfect amount! One scrambled egg, one sausage patty and one piece of French toast - yum! My sister and I met some friends here for breakfast. After going to the midtown location first and not seeing anyone there we figured out there was 2 locations! I failed to see the French toast came with a blueberry compote which I would have asked for on the side if I realized it...cause sauce touching stuff is not my jam. I scraped it off and gave it to my sister to have with the piece of French toast she tried off my plate. Yes, judge all you want but I'm a plain Jane butter-only person when it comes to pancakes and waffles and French toast and if I feel like it I dip it in syrup. But I was ok and ate all my French toast, even the but with the blueberry compote. It was a tasty compote and if I liked blueberries I'm sure I would be saying "most delicious ever!!" The French toast was totally yum. And I could probably eat a whole plate myself (but bacon and eggs!) so my choice to get this was perfect for me. My sister ordered the vegan skillet which looked yummy too so of course I had to photograph it and my bad short term memory doesn't remember what anyone else ordered cause I didn't take other photos of food. They had a special branded hot sauce which reminded me of a jalapeño Tabasco but different and I ended up purchasing a bottle to bring home. Have I used it yet? Nope. I haven't made eggs since coming back from Reno but I'm excited to use it. I'll also need to find other things to put it on. I have been to the south location several times and so far it's ok. The weekend mornings are usually pretty busy. They do offer a couple vegan choices but it is mostly and meat and egg kind of place. The decor is really cute. The place is always clean. The staff could work on a little more on friendliness though. They usually act like their doing you a favor by waiting on you. Once your food is delivered your lucky to get their attention to come back. But that aside. The food is pretty good. The portions are reasonable, and the prices are competitive of other breakfast joints. So, if your looking for a breakfast place this one is not bad so give em a try. read more

Went on a Sunday which is the true time to measure a breakfast place and we were not disappointed. I got the salmon Benedict with the egg poached hard and the parmesan hashbrowns. Both items were fantastic. I am not usually a hashbrown fan but the Parmesan gave them more flavor and they were perfectly cooked. Many places get lazy and cook them on one side and raw everywhere else, not here! This was my first time at this local business and was seated right away on what seemed to be a busy day. I had a family member with me that didn't want to eat a lot and found the "Just a Bit Peckish," section perfect for her! And holidays, especially Monday holidays off, get pretty busy pretty quickly. Finally made it in to this location.. I was really impressed walking in and seeing how big it was.. Very clean and well decorated.. A few customers before being seated and more coming in after. The only server on shift managed nicely with all the tables. Coffee was hot and a big plus for me. Impressive! My wife and I were in the area and decided to try somewhere new for breakfast. Typically we breakfast around where we live, there are so many good places in South Reno we rarely make it as far North as this establishment but I must say their multi cheese omelette which I added bacon to was delicious! The exact name of this entree is the UltiMelt Omelette ($13.29) with added bacon ($2.89). My wife had the Harvest Omelette and that too was tasty with the bite she gave me. 2 omelettes and 2 cups coffee came to around $38 before tax so not bad price wise. There is a Two Chicks in midtown as well FYI, but this one is across from Meadowood Mall and is attached to a hotel. Overall would recommend and they also have electric chargers for your EV at no charge which was another nice surprise! read more

This was my first time at this location I have been to the one in midtown before. I was invited to a Brown Skin Brunch. It was very nice I enjoyed myself. They were accommodating for us with our big party. We had enough space for us to sit. The waiters were very nice. One waiter turned photographer took our picture for us. My friend and I were checking out Reno and instead of eating at the hotels breakfast place, we decided to look for other breakfast places in Reno that might be unique to Reno. We found Two Chicke to be within walking distance of our hotel (Atlantis). While this restaurant was attached to a hotel, it seems like it might be a unique chain to Reno. The menu had plenty of breakfast options. The servers were nice. I ordered a vegetarian omelette and I found it. It was a little under seasoned. The potato cakes were on the small side, but tasty. My friend ordered a grain bowl with peanut butter and he liked it. There was a little bit of confusion because he asked for the maple syrup to be on the side instead they served it with a side of maple syrup. I didn't notice the extra charge until after we left. After driving passed Two Chicks on many occasions, we finally got the chance to try them out. For our party of 6 the wait was only 30 minutes and it was well worth the wait! The restaurant was clean, service was eggcellent and everything was fresh and delicious. My dad got the special pancakes (chocolate pancakes with peppermint), mom got the Salmon Bene, husband got the breakfast tacos and I went with the half griddle with almond poppyseed french toast. Everyone enjoyed what they had. I wasn't sure what to expect with the almond poppyseed french toast but really liked it a lot. You could really taste both the almond and poppyseeds. The poppyseeds added a light crunch and poppy flavor paired with fresh blueburry compote. The Salmon Bene was impressive. I'll eat it if I have to but I don't really like salmon. The Salmon was actually good- not too fishy and paired with the sauces and egg. The winner of the day was the chocolate peppermint pancakes. The festive pancakes came beautufully decorated with chocolate drizzle and sprinkled with peppermint. Everyone had a bite and enjoyed the unique flavor. The sausages are served as patties rather than links and the seasonal better was strawberry, Also notetable was their coffee. It was flavorful, bold and not generic. I also loved that their coffee is served in large coffee mugs. Overall, we loved everything about Two Chicks and will be back the next time we visit Reno. read more
