Hard to believe that in this day and age when you call a place trying to place an order for several hundred dollars you end up getting yelled at but that's what just happened to me this morning. After going on their website and seeing that their catering requires 48 hours notice I decided giving the restaurant a call anyways to see if I could order several orders of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and chocolate chip pancakes. I asked to speak to a manager there was none available so I spoke to a man who at first seemed nice and courteous. He told me that they couldn't do catering but they could package up whatever I ordered anyway I wanted cause I figured since I'm ordering just 5 to 10 sides of each of those items they could just package them together to reduce waste and also make it easier to carry out. I explicitly stated to both he and the girl who transferred me to him before hand that I was interested in five orders of biscuits and gravy, five orders of pancakes, and five orders of scrambled eggs. He then suggested that that might not be enough so I decided to increase the quantity to 12 each. For some reason after I repeated exactly what I was interested in once we agreed on the number. He decided to get loud with me and tell me that he's not gonna do that and that they're too busy and that this is why catering requires notice when I tried to explain well I thought you just said that you could do whatever I wanted in terms of sides and package them together. He yelled and said that was before I started adding crazy stuff like biscuits and gravy. The guy literally yelling at me on the phone so I had to hang up in his face. I don't know how stressful working at this place must be for him to immediately get that upset and overreact or whether the word biscuits and gravy is just a trigger for him. Either way, I do want management to know that he cost the restaurant a large order this morning. It wasn't a complicated order. It would literally just be 12 short stacks of chocolate chip pancakes, 12 side, orders of scrambled eggs, and 12 orders of biscuits and gravy. No toast, no potatoes none of that. Literally just large quantities of those sides packaged in large containers. I was also providing 3.5 hours notice because I would be picking up at 10 AM which is likely when their breakfast rush isn't as crazy on a Thursday morning. So to whomever is reading this, please tread carefully when discussing biscuits and gravy with this man because he seems to be one breakfast phone order away from completely losing it read more

Located in a hotel on the south-ish end of Reno, the location has less cute ambiance compared to its original location, but that does not detract. Two Chicks is such a classic breakfast/brunch spot. I am so glad they have two locations! Even though this one has a huge parking lot and the restaurant is much bigger, it does fill up if you don't come early. We came around 8:30am on a Sunday, and when we were leaving around mid morning, it was packed! People were waiting to be seated too. Our server was attentive and nice. My friend ordered the Breakfast Poutine, which looked great, I might try that at my next visit! I had one of my "go-to's" the Biscuits and Gravy. The gravy was good, and they gave me a lot too, some places will skimp on the gravy, but not here! The biscuits were also delicious, you can tell they are homemade. Wow my father is looking at real estate in the area and I hope he buys here because this place is so incredibly tasty. Firstly the mimosas are great they are not the type of restaurant that uses the supercheap champagne that taste, flat and sweet. This is crisp and brut And if you get the pancakes, make sure to ask for the peach butter that comes with a biscuit because it is tremendously amazing on the pancakes. I was grateful that one of the staff members suggested I get this particular type of butter for my pancake. The burger has avocado and a fried egg, which is one of my favorite recruitments. Excellent Angus and french fries are so on point garlic and Parmesan with some type of cucumber side dip. The Benedict was cooked well, and my husband scramble was delicious. We will definitely be back. One of the best things about this restaurant is, you won't find a sour face on any of the staff. When it comes to Reno, Two Chicks is one of those names synonymous with brunch. If you have no idea what you want but in the foodie mood for a good brunch, Two Chicks is one of those names that random folks on the Reno street would tell you to go give a try. I haven't frequented Two Chicks much, but my wife has. What can I say? It's good proper American brunch with some creative twists. Great selections, taste good, good portion and priced alright. So funny story--we originally came to Two Chicks thinking it was a chicken joint but quickly realized it's actually a breakfast/brunch spot. We decided to come back another time, and I'm glad we did! We came on a Sunday around 11 AM and planned to get takeout. The place was packed (which is always a good sign), and we overheard the hostess saying there was a 35-minute wait for dine-in. The interior is super cute--bright, clean, and welcoming with lots of seating. We ordered the egg whites with Parmesan hashbrowns and sourdough toast, plus the chicken fried steak. Both meals were prepped really well and traveled great. The egg whites were fluffy and flavorful, and the Parmesan hashbrowns? Amazing. I'd never had them before but now I'm hooked. The chicken fried steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. The only letdown was that it didn't come with gravy, which we were expecting--but it was still really tasty on its own. Also, I asked for condiments and didn't get any jelly for the toast, though they did include a mango butter that was a nice surprise. My sister and I met some friends here for breakfast. After going to the midtown location first and not seeing anyone there we figured out there was 2 locations! The French toast was totally yum. And I could probably eat a whole plate myself (but bacon and eggs!) so my choice to get this was perfect for me. My sister ordered the vegan skillet which looked yummy too so of course I had to photograph it and my bad short term memory doesn't remember what anyone else ordered cause I didn't take other photos of food. They had a special branded hot sauce which reminded me of a jalapeño Tabasco but different and I ended up purchasing a bottle to bring home. Have I used it yet? Nope. I didn't know there was a second location to Two Chicks until I was in this part of town. 9:30am, came here and got seated right away. The inside was well decorated with cute light fixtures and lots of posters on the walls. My friend got the cappuccino and their special of the day which was the bay shrimp omelet while I got a chai tea latte with the vegan skillet. This was my first time at this local business and was seated right away on what seemed to be a busy day. I had a family member with me that didn't want to eat a lot and found the "Just a Bit Peckish," section perfect for her! I have been to the south location several times and so far it's ok. The weekend mornings are usually pretty busy. They do offer a couple vegan choices but it is mostly and meat and egg kind of place. The decor is really cute. The place is always clean. The staff could work on a little more on friendliness though. They usually act like their doing you a favor by waiting on you. So glad we stopped by this brunch spot in Reno to grab a quick bite on Sunday. At 1:30 pm there was no wait to get a table, which we were thrilled about. Finally made it in to this location.. I was really impressed walking in and seeing how big it was.. Very clean and well decorated.. A few customers before being seated and more coming in after. The only server on shift managed nicely with all the tables. Coffee was hot and a big plus for me. Went on a Sunday which is the true time to measure a breakfast place and we were not disappointed. I got the salmon Benedict with the egg poached hard and the parmesan hashbrowns. Both items were fantastic. I am not usually a hashbrown fan but the Parmesan gave them more flavor and they were perfectly cooked. Many places get lazy and cook them on one side and raw everywhere else, not here! Love the range on the menu! And the staff are always pretty friendly! Though personally I recommend going on a quiet week day because the volume gets loud. And holidays, especially Monday holidays off, get pretty busy pretty quickly. The staff keeps up with the rush and the kitchen keeps that food wait time low but if you want a quieter experience I wouldn't recommend a weekend or holiday.
