Do not waste your time. Scramble was supposed to have "3 eggs" but hardly looked like 1.5, I cook eggs every morning an know about the egg portions... Was not 3 eggs. Truck delivery came while we were there and the biscuits appear to be made from the biscuit mix they were receiving. Wouldn't spend $18 a meal for box biscuit mix, regular white eggs and skimpy meals. Find another breakfast spot to fill your morning. read more

We came to Savannah for a three day weekend to see a Savannah Bananas baseball game. We did a tour of Savannah during the day before, and decided to have breakfast on our way out of town on the river -- so we chose Two Cracked Eggs Cafe. Bad news.. it was raining, and the cafe was packed! Good news... we only had to wait about 10 minutes and got a window seat facing the river! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, if not a little bit loud. The menu is full of tasty looking treats, and while we waited a bit for service -- the services was top notch! Around the table we ordered the Blarney Eggs (still on the St. Patrick's Day menu), the Peach French Toast, Chicken & Waffles, and Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich. We really wanted the Clothesline Bacon but there was so much food, and we were hopping in the car to head north right after, so we decided against it. The food was delicious! Fluffy eggs, yummy waffles, biscuits to die for, and really great bacon! The Cuban coffee was among the best I have had in recent memory at a restaurant. Food comes out served on skillets, and the drinks in milk jugs - really fun and interesting service. And the service from Taylor was simply the best service I have had in a very long time. He was personable, helpful, and offered things before we thought of them. He made us feel like we were in HIS home. So much so, I asked him if he was the owner or manager (he was not) because he acted like he personally cared about our experience. I'm a little sad we won't be able to go back and see him again. If the owner reads this, Taylor is the kind of person you want with your guests. On the way out there was a problem with the point-of-sale and credit card machine - but you know what? It's fitting that my 700th review be of a place that made a great morning. What I really wanted was a good bowl of grits, and to visit a place I hadn't yet been. I wasn't in a rush so the reviews about slow service didn't bother me. And I was sufficiently curious that I had to check out the food for myself. I'm really glad I did. I had the traditional plus crêpés with mixed berries. I highly recommend trying the crêpés as a dessert with a buddy, unless you are determined to tackle it all on your own, like I did. The grits were a perfect morning pick me up. But even more surprising was the biscuit! The biscuit is a must, which comes with a side of their jam. Our waitress was very kind and there was no slow service at all. This is a place you go to when you want a good, filling breakfast, and would like to avoid visiting Denny's, for example. One word, disappointing. It was not worth the wait nor the price tag. Let's start with checking in. The host/hostess told us it would be a 45-minute wait which we did not mind, but apparently they did. They were unwelcoming and reluctant to put our name down. 30 minutes later we were seated in the upper level which I knew wouldn't be great, but was open to the experience. It was smoky and hot, but we were sitting in the attic so there's that. We ordered biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict, and peach French toast. The food was just okay, nothing special. The best part is that it was subpar food, thrown around in the to go box, and they also forgot items. It would be a massive leap to say that it was worth the wait. As I start this review I have done nothing except order my food. The atmosphere is amazing. They have fun signs on the walls with comical sayings. The music is low volume praise music. As a local, it was just okay compared to other breakfast spots downtown. The restaurant itself cannot handle the traffic, especially on a weekend. The seating is community style, which is okay if you're into that but I sat next to a screaming baby. The family at our table finished prior to us so when the table was cleared/cleaned the server sprayed disinfectant on the table while we were eating, which was awkward and unappetizing. However, the menu was filled with oddities -- including Benedicts made only with scrambled eggs, strangely limited beverage menu, and other quirks. Napkins were a roll of paper towels on the table. Butter was tabs in plastic cups. The meal showed up and it was as dreary as can be -- especially for the riverfront premium price. Eggs were invisible in even a 3-egg dish. Crepes were folded and smashed onto the plate. Potatoes were not fully cooked. Biscuits unnecessarily the size of a Kleenex box were dry tasteless, dominating the plate. Table service was friendly and engaged. But the feel was that they expect all visitors are passing through, tourists, ("safe travels!"), even though we had shared nothing of our origins or plans. My husband encountered a blank stare when mentioning the bleak experience when cashing out, and no pick-up or inquiry into his concerns. We walked out and spotted the Two Cracked Eggs decked out Hummer parked out front. Ah ha! High price points on flimsy, terrible breakfast food, instantly explained. After going 0 for 2 with servers on our over night stop in awesome Savannah, we finally hit pay dirt the next morning, with our server Isaac (Ike) at Two Cracked Eggs, on River Street across from the lovely JW Marriott. (Thank you Victoria Rodriguez for the recommendation) Isaac noticed the smallest of details and asked the right questions anticipating and delivering at every turn, in the busy bustling restaurant. Hmm. A friend of mine put me onto this restaurant. I was tempted to have the peach french toast or clothesline bacon, but the bacon was 17.99!!! I frequently eat a whole breakfast for that or less. Their famous biscuits are certainly generous on size. They taste pretty much like your standard biscuit. I was disappointed ny butter wasn't soft, but it eventually melted on the warm biscuit. Their Traffic Jam os delicious. I order 2 eggs over easy and a biscuit. I should have ordered the eggs over medium. They didn't seem cooked through to me. The food was delicious for a late brunch on Saturday- however the weather was above 80 and the small enclosed area was quite warm to the point it was making us a not nauseous. If the temperature can remain comfortable the experience would be so much more delightful. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful and the wait was less than 40 minutes. Food: Specialty omelette with the ginormous biscuit which you would think would be over cooked and dry- wrong the entire meal was delicious and the grits served on the side were cooked to perfection. The TRAFFIC JAM - their take on a mixed berry jam with the whipped butter made that biscuit on steroids even more scrumptious. Drinks: Mimosas, coffee and water were right on taste - due to the weather and temperature our waters became too warm to enjoy. OMG! My husband and I ate here for breakfast on our first full day in Savannah, Georgia. My mouth is watering just thinking about how delicious this place was. The biscuits are absolutely to die for. My husband couldn't stop thinking about them. The Cuban coffee was so smooth and tasty. We had to go back again on our third day. Unfortunately we woke up a little later than normal so when we got there there was about a half an hour wait which turned into an hour wait. This was my second time here for breakfast but it had been awhile. They have expanded the restaurant which was is nice but some of the ambiance is missing that I loved in the original place. I ordered the traditional breakfast and instead of grits asked for the potatoes. The biscuit, as usual, was huge and delicious, the rest, not so much. There was barely one scrambled egg on my plate and the potatoes cost an additional $5 so not really worth it. I did try my husbands grits and they were only solo. He had the biscuit sandwich and it was good. We also did not have good service and we arrived early on a Saturday before they got too busy. Our waitress seemed to like to chat a lot with the other waitresses but was not very responsive to us. There were three in our party and I would defiantly not say the breakfast was worth $65. There are better places in Savannah, but you are paying for the location and the view, if you happen to be able to get one of the few tables by the window. Probably won't go back. We went on a Sunday morning after church. I walked in to put our name on the list and see how long the wait was. The very unfriendly hostess barely looked at me and didn't say a word?? I said- hi, we have a party of 5. She said we are a 45 minute wait right now. Like she wanted me to leave. Then she SLOWLY started cleaning off the large table in front for us. Or so I thought. She piled some plates together and removed a coffee cup. Then walked two feet over to us and said follow me. ??? She grabbed some menus and started upstairs. We got up there and it was a very small room and it was 400° and there was a live band. Way too small of a space for a band and 4 tables. I immediately wanted to go back downstairs. I knew it would be way too loud and it was SO hot up there! So husband asked if we could go back downstairs. She just looked at him and stated walking down the stairs. Didn't say a word. Husband asked if we should take our menus with us. Still no response. She went back to that large table and said- I gotta clean the table off. She picked up a plate or two and disappeared. A minute later- a server came over and asked how many people? She was super friendly! She said ok let me clean this table off for you. It took about 5 minutes to get it cleaned and we sat down. The hostess reappeared after the work was done. She carried unfriendliness around with her. Anyway- Gigg was our server and she was excellent. We ordered and got our food. It's pretty expensive and food was good but not really great. The prices don't make sense. You can get a full plate with eggs and bacon and grits and a biscuit for $16. Or you can get 2 eggs and a biscuit for $16. My daughter wanted chicken fingers. They have 3 on the menu for $12 or they are $3 each??? We got a large side of gravy and it was $14! Add a teaspoon of cheese to your grits for $1.75. Add a dollop of whipped cream to your waffle or hot chocolate for $2.50! But whatever. Biscuits are huge and delicious. And gravy is fantastic. Great coffee and the house made jam is really good. Also it's cash only so beware! It adds up quickly for all the "extras". We had a really bad first impression of the place because of the rude hostess, but I'm glad we stayed and Gigg made it worth it. read more

TRAFFIC JAM!!! Those two words will change your life, just like this little place. This delicious homemade berry jam is a perfect paring for the gigantic homemade biscuits that come with your meal. No seriously, the biscuit is the meal! To accompany my biscuit; I ordered the shrimp and grits, which in my opinion I felt were pretty solid. I would definitely order them again. There are no mimosa specials for brunch, and they're fairly expensive. The berry mimosa was yummy, but not sure if it's worth $9.99. The restaurant itself is full of stuff, and there is flies everywhere. We were sat at a table that was not clean and directly in front of us was a ceiling dripping. The waffles taste like the hotel waffles that you can make yourself. The french toast was undercooked and also tasted like something a 13 year old at home alone could cook themselves. The expense of the food items were ridiculous for the subpar dishes that we received. There was one bathroom for the whole restaurant and the wait is as expected for one bathroom. The price for three people was just under 68$. Maybe we got the wrong dishes, but the other dishes were 20$+ for something we expected not to be all that great. My last note is about how they are incredibly understaffed yet they're also incredibly crowded. (If you don't want to read it all I will sum it up it is not worth the money or time spent.) read more

Found this spot that was highly recommended in Savanah. Got up to the place around 10am on a Monday. Small line, had to wait about 10 minutes. I thought it was odd since there were tables available. Turns out the hostess is also the bus boy..er...uh.... bus woman? So she is taking names, then clearing plates and wiping tables, then seating people. A little odd, but ok. We are seated and our waitress (Julie) comes over and takes our drink order. My wife and I don't drink with our meals, but we always get water. They brought over the smallest glasses of water. Who's idea was this? Some waitresses could be heard making jokes about the tiny glasses. It was like a shot of water. We then place our order. Since we are staying in a hotel and don't want a bunch of leftovers, we decided to split the meals. We were informed there is a $2.50 charge to split each meal. Really? 2019 and we are paying to share. Ok fine. Our waitress disappears at that point. She only came back once during our visit to give us the food and drop off the check. The food was good.
