I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews here. Like many of you, I use Yelp to make a decision on places to visit and things to do. I had almost written off visiting until we drove past during our recent stay just a block down the road. My teenage kids and I enjoyed breakfast here one morning before Memorial Day. We arrived a little later in the morning and enjoyed not having to rush. Our server was attentive and kept my coffee cup full (not an easy feat because I usually have 3-4 cups during breakfast). It's a cute beach cantina. Lots of personality! The background music helped to create a lively atmosphere. It was exactly what I needed in order to start our daily adventure. I enjoyed an omelette, my daughter had a skillet, and my son had Eggs Benny. All were fresh prepared, arrived hot, & were exactly what we needed. What can I say? I really appreciate the attempt that this restaurant makes to have good live music in this area. For what I imagine they have as an entertainment budget, they seem to work pretty well with its limits. However, a lot of times the food and service is sort of hit and miss here. I appreciate the attempt they make towards making things--I guess--more interesting? But ewwwwww on the steak for the taco salad! Why fry it with slimy caramelized onions?? I had to replace it with chicken enchiladas with green salsa. They were "OK" but merely that--just OK. Nothing special. On a different night, the mussels were just WRONG on so many levels. Terrible place. My son ordered a Moscow Mule that watered down in a few minutes. I started ordering a skinny Margarita that tasted so awful I had to return it. I asked for a Pina Colada thinking they couldn't mess that one and they did. It was all ice and no alcohol. Also returned it and gave up on drinks. I ordered the rib special only to find the fat encrusted on the top of the rib rack. It lacked sauce. Had to return it and gave up on eating in this restaurant. The grouper was fresh, you can tell a previously frozen grouper fillet and this one was not. The house made slaw was great, not too much mayo and not too sweet, just fresh tasting. Not bad, but guacamole was very bland. We both ordered steak tacos and it literally took 45 minutes for them to put some steak and onions on three tortillas with rice and beans on the side. Heading home from a run to Miami, dodging about 6 crashes on 95, hunger came upon us. The holiday limited choices, we found The Goat. Seats at the bar were grabbed. There was a number of people at the bar and some dining here and there. The place aint fancy, divish definitely. Dont look close. The staff was working and quickly stopped by. Bottles only, no taps. Brings back memories. Beer and wine were ordered and delivered. The staff had a shift change, not an issue. We had doubts about the food, but went there. Grouper, fried, sammich and the french dip. Everything came out hot. The fries are always the test, hot, salty, crispy, good. The fried grouper was really good, quite pleased. The french dip was raved about, i got the last hunk. It does NOT have to have such great food options- people will always need beach bars and will come regardless. But it is nice to have a delicious option among the mediocrity. You can't expect much from a local place on the beach that isn't expensive....so the same holds true here as far as the food goes. I'm not saying the food wasn't good but it wasn't much to write a review about because it was just average. Word to the wise that their fries are the hand cut version so they may look old and nasty but they are good. This is a great place to grab a drink after a long walk on the beach. While vacationing in this area this was a convenient location that I was able to walk to. Went there with my niece and I had a turkey club which is really good and she had the fish tacos and those were also very good. Nice area you can sit inside or outside and the outside portion allows you to bring your friendly dogs. They also have music on the weekends and that's a great spot just to sit relax and people watch. read more

We went there with another couple who was already there! It was really nice to be able to park, go eat and then go straight to the beach. The food was REALLY good. I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and my Fiancée had the lobster Roll which looked really good and he said it was good. I will definitely be coming back especially on a relaxing day at the beach. Going to the beach first and finishing off the day with a nice dinner at Two Drunken Goats would be a good idea too. I will say, the toast I got with my pasta, DELICIOUS. Came here on a recommendation from a friend. Food and entertainment were good. Menu items were well priced for the area. However, the service was very slow on a night that wasn't crowded and seemed to be well staffed. The soft drinks and water tasted terrible, so we wanted to order bottled beers. Our server visited the table behind us four times before revisiting ours, so we ended up not ordering other beverages at all. Our food (a wrap and fries and a sandwich and fries) took over 75 minutes. We ended up asking for the food to go. The server did bring us a complimentary piece of pie and apologized for our wait. We had time to look at the menu and decide what we wanted to eat so when our server came to take our drink order, we ordered our food too. I ordered the Sauza Golden Margarita and the Grouper Sandwich, fried and my husband ordered the Beach Bum to drink and the Flying Fish Tacos. Our food came out pretty quick. The food was ok. The Grouper Sandwich was huge. I took half of it home and most of the fries because I couldn't eat it all. I did wish I got my Grouper blackened though. It seemed like it had more breading then fish. So disappointed and disgusted by the food and experience! I don't mind hole in the wall restaurants as long as the have good food, but this place was just horrible in all aspects! Our table was so wobbly that we were afraid to put our arms on it. When the waitress brought our drinks she didn't put them on a napkin or coaster, so the condensation combined with the wobbly table made a stream of water pour on my shorts. We ordered muscles for an appetizer, which stated they were in a chipotle sauce. The muscles came out 20 min later. Half of them weren't open and the sauce tasted like tomato paste with water. We ordered skirt steak ( waitress asked for my 2 sides) and the lobster Mac n cheese. 20 mins after our appetizer I received my steak and the waitress said she was wrong it only came with one side and the were out of baked potatoes. I shrugged it off and ordered another drink. We sat there for 5 min wondering when my wife's Mac n Cheese will come out, the the waitress came over and said she forgot to put in the order. By this time we were both frustrated. We asked for the Mac n Cheese to go and I gave my wife a piece of my steak. She took a bite and said it tasted like they put oil on it and through it in the grill. The waitress came to check on us 10 min later and I asked for the check. She brought the check with the to go order, along with the drink I ordered 15 min prior. We ended up spending $115 dollars on 12 muscles, skirt steak with canned green beans, and lobster Mac n Cheese that my wife is afraid to eat because she got heartburn from my steak and a few muscles. I have been coming for years, practical, great parking and next to the beach. Servers are nice too. Grouper sandwich is fantastic and so is the fish n chips. Problem is that the owner replaced the home cut fries with pre-frozen fries, they are awful. Fries used to be great... if they don't bring them back, I am afraid I will try the newly opened competitor next door. This was not a good decision. No happy hour, guitar / singer is not very good. The (blackened) Grouper Sandwich (pictured below) was so good, we ordered two the following night delivered to our hotel. Note: it's a great portion size and the fish was fantastic in each case. The waiter brought over 2 of the drinks, missing my beer. He said he'd get it. 5 minutes later i got his attention. "Oh yeh, let me check on it". 5 more minutes, he came back to tell me they were out of ambers and walked away. I went inside to the bar and got a different beer. Runner came out with Wings , crispy as requested. No celery. No bleu cheese. Runner walked away before we finished telling him. A couple of minutes I flag down the waiter. Requested he take our dinner order before he gets the celery and BC. 2 burgers and a fish sandwich. Menu says all burgers come with cole slaw, 2 onion rings, fries. 15 - 20 minutes later, runners bring food. No Cole slaw, one had the onion rings. Mine was a bleu cheese burger which also came with bacon and grilled onions- however no bacon or grilled onions and bleu cheese was burnt. Finally got our waiter, ok he'd go to the kitchen, came back and said in a few minutes. . 10 minutes later I went inside and told him forget about it. My husband and I were looking for a fun place to watch the Women's USA soccer game with lots of TVs and a big fan base. While watching the game we shared a BYO omelette with everything in it, and I must say it was the best omelette I have ever had. I also had a Bloody Mary, which they limit you to 2, no sure why, but they were okay. Our waiter was busy but did a great job.
