Husband hails from New York and is quite picky about his pizzas. He says "Two Guys from Italy" was better than most places in LA but of course you can't get the taste of NY pizza anywhere in LA (at least that we know of). I thought the pizza was alright. I like the thinner crust, and they covered all the sauce spots with cheese, so if you hate those bald sauce spots, Two Guys has got you covered on the mozzarella. I like my pizza equal parts saucy and cheesy and I felt that theirs was more cheesy than saucy, so I wasn't a super big fan. Still good though. read more

Last time ordering from this place tonight.. Since we have lived in Glendale we have really come to love this place. Great Pizza and they have a variety of other menu options which are pretty good. Unfortunately customer service is dead here. It always takes well over an hour and they are never apologetic + they tend to get a few mess ups on our orders. Tonight was the last straw; we put our order in at 6:12pm and it is now 8:16 PM and order is still not here. I called the restaurant and like always they say the driver is on its way. I really liked this place! Not sure why it's rated so low. There is a dedicated parking lot right next which is sooo great and I personally like it even more because it's one block way from my favorite chocolate place. I came here with a few friends for dinner. It was quiet and pretty empty, I wasn't under the impression that it got crazy busy and loud here ever. We were immediately seated, given AMAZING bread and bruschetta to nibble on. I ordered the mushroom ravioli which was flavorful and well cooked, my friend had the lasagna which was also good. Two other friends had gotten sandwiches and another pasta dish and though I can't remember exactly what, food was good and prices pretty reasonable. We had a couple glasses of wine but decided to open up a bottle on hand and the corkage fee is $7 which isn't great but not too bad. The food here is good. The reason I knocked off a star is this: I HATE it when service people automatically assume and even demand a tip. I ordered dinner using the Eat24 app and there's a section where you can choose to add a tip using your card. I purposely left this blank because I prefer to tip when the food arrives. And I am a decent tipper. I've worked as a hostess and server so I know how appreciative wait staff are to get tips. But tonight, the delivery guy shoved the receipt in my face after I signed it and said, "You clicked CASH TIP. Where is my tip?" He didn't even hand me my food before demanding his tip. Just went here specifically because I've ordered their gluten free pizza for my girlfriend and she loved it. We arrive and no one greets us for a few minutes and I can just see them all talking in the back. After we're seated we sat there for 10-15 minutes without a drink menu. At this point we are the only two in the restaurant with 5 servers. Finally someone asks if anyone has taken our order and brings us a drink menu at our request. We then wait another 10 minutes listening to our waitress claim us to the other servers because it's her turn, but she still never comes over. Our delivery order was less than satisfying. Not only was the lasagna sauce reminiscent of Chef Boyardee, the ravioli was mushy, and the pizza dough rubbery. We were put on hold at least 4 times, with each subsequent person requesting the same information we had just provided (name, address, items ordered, etc.). Whenever I've called in an order or dropped by the owners and their crew have always been attentive and friendly. The service isn't as fast as a drive through burger joint but do you seriously expect a delicious plate of home-made lasagna to come flying out of the kitchen as fast as a McNugget? Fellow yelpers, give this local business a break! When I first stepped inside this place, the first thing that came to my nerdy mind is that this restaurant reminds me of a geode. Rough on the outside, 50 meters from a freeway overpass, sandwiched between a coin op laundromat and a salon stuck in the 80's... but the inside is BEAUTIFUL! High ceilings and walls decorated with distinctly italian fresco, mood lighting, a library wall of wine to choose from and nice seating all suitable for a romantic night out. Not at all what I expected.Well done! The owners have invested tens of thousands into the decor and clearly care about their patrons overall experience. My recommendation: If you live near by you simply won't find a better place to order pizza from. But don't stop at the pizza, the lasagna is fantastic. I have always been a fan of thier yummy yummy food, but today.... they made a customer for life! Why??? Cause the owner here totally gets what it means to be a community friendly business. (I don't live in this community, but if you do.... Keep this guy in business!) As I sat waiting for my to-go order to feed my co-worker and I, I watched while two separate times kids from the local middle school (apparently Jr. High is no longer PC...) asked if there was a phone they could use to call thier parent. Both times he offered up his personal cell phone, dialing the number and leaving them to have thier conversation in private. I of course complimented this behavior, and he joked that the local parents all probably have his phone number memorized. we chuckled and he shared a few more stories about his experiences with local families. He then welcomed in a group of pretty young kids requesting a table, got them sat and then winked and said "business meeting." I LOVE businesses that embrace thier community and this guy gets it... it takes a village! The food? You wanna know about the food??? Oh.... well... OK. DELISH!!!! They have one of my fave house salads ever, the meat lasagna is truly amazing! I even love thier sandwiches... they are way better than I want them to be! So my mom swears by the pizza so we decided to try their delivery service while the repair men were working on our house. We were not quite in the mood for pizza, and the menu descriptions for their pasta dishes sounded enticing, so we went for it. The online order process was easy and convenient, and I figured with it being in "writing" the order would come in accurately. What had me a bit nervous was the price. 3 dinner entrees came out to $50 which from a food delivery perspective seemed a bit steep, so we were hoping that the food would be well worth it. I placed the order around 6:40pm on a Monday and the delivery took just under 60 minutes. The entrees were piping hot and the serving sizes were good. We had the butternut squash raviolli, cheese raviolli, and the risotto al frutti di mare. Of the 3 dishes, I liked the risotto dish the best for the amount of seafood that was in it. I am not sure what has happened to this place, but they better fix it up fast. Most of the lights in the chandeliers are burnt out, those that aren't are kind of dingy looking. None of the tables had lit "candles" the little alcohol candle in our unit was bone dry. Wall sconce lights are either burnt out or turned off. Our Parmesan "shaker" was empty, showing it to be kind of dirty. Salt and pepper shakers the same, just dingy. So, the place is dark and dingy and cold..... Service was not good, long periods with no contact, empty wine and beer glasses......food seemed to take a while to arrive. My spaghetti was pretty tasty...but the pizza was only warm. Finally flagged down waitress for check and asked her to box pizza, she then disappeared for another long period of time. I want to like this place, but with interior conditions like this and so-so service? I took my Godson there for lunch and since I am on a "carb limited" diet, I decided to get their spinach salad. Oh boy, that was a mistake. They poured half a container of this strong vinaigrette dressing over some spinach leaves, mediocre cheese and cranberries. The portion was entirely too large. The food was extremely bland, fresh frozen, and too expensive for microwave taste! I started with carrot soup that needed more pepper and salt and more life to it, followed by the tasteless calamari. I had the Veal Parmesan and the jambalaya risotto and was stunned by the bland, no taste, no spice, no wow factor coming from both meals. The only tasty thing about my meal was my pinot grio and the complimentary bread served. The total price of our disappointing meal was over $80 and definitely not worth it. "Two Guys From Italy" are either (A) blatantly lying about being from Italy or (B) from a town on the Italy/Slovenia border. I'll tell you right away, I've only had take-out from this place but it shouldn't matter. The way food tastes doesn't change in a 10 minute car ride. The food here is disgraceful. I'm from NNJ, so I know about pizza, and good Italian food. When I was a kid my first friends were Italians that moved in across the street, right from Italy, the country! I ate there at least 2 nights a week. That being said... the red sauce here is awful. The sauce on the pizza is fine, but somehow they can't figure out the marinara. Their version of a cal-zone is pitiful. The red sauce in this tasted like salsa, and it was half the size of what a cal-zone should be, and for twice the price. Their chicken is gross too. I never had such a crummy chicken parm dinner. Portions are small, prices are high. I'm giving this place one more chance and I'm done with it. It's not worth the price. Come around a bit more to check on our needs. I had to ask for cheese, which should be a staple especially when the spaghetti sauce is lacking a punch. Prego has more flavor. our waitress had to ask us who got what even though there were only two of us dining and the only ones in our area, and she had taken our drink order only minutes ago. Also talking and standing around at the bar where we can see you through the huge dining window is probably something you can avoid and check on your guests instead. Our family have been eating at Two Guys from Italy for many years...as far back when they were still located on Broadway! We often meet and eat here when we're in the mood to eat Italian food, or celebrating birthdays! The food is great and the price is on the moderate to high side! Some of our favs are the cream of carrot soup, the fettuccine Alfredo chicken with pink sauce, and of course the pizza. While the food is awesome, service can sometimes be very slow (hence the 3 stars rating...would have given a 4 if service was better). The servers are nice, but seem to take their time when bringing the food out or getting drink refills! We often have to look for our server to ask for something. I'm not sure why service is not a big priority for this place...maybe the waitress feel they don't need to work as efficiently and as fast, when it's a group of six or more people, since gratuity is automatically added to the bill for a party of six or more people (which is always the case for our family). I sincerely hope that management will emphasize to their wait staff the importance of providing great customer service! The restaurant's interior decor is decent with a faux marble paint finish on the wall. The restaurant is located in a small complex next to a laundry facility. Parking can sometimes be difficult, since the parking lot is small and can only accommodate about 8-10 cars. Overall, if you are not in rush and don't mind waiting a bit to try some delicious food, I would recommend trying Two Guys from Italy in Glendale! Arrivederci! read more
