Came here because I wanted to give their dim sum a try. Honestly their dim sum isn't bad. They have the major staples like har gow, shu mai, stuffed eggplant, fried taro puffs, etc. It gets pretty easy to forget how much you've ordered so your bill can really start to rack up. I'm giving this place 3 stars because nothing really stood out to me. Everything was average tasting in my opinion. I've been to plenty of dim sum places outside of Ohio that serves really unique and super fresh dim sum, so my standards can get pretty high. THIS IS A DIM SUM REVIEW. Ok, so there's like 3 main dim sum places in Columbus: sunflower, fortune, and this one which is fairly new. I think Fortune is terrible, sunflower is good, but neither are super mind blowing. Was excited to try this place after hearing good things around the asian grapevine and I would probably place this at a level near Sunflower, maybe slightly better in some aspects and worse in others. What's better: the fried taro dumplings, this glutinous rice with savory filling dumpling, the radish cake, siu Mai, and the shrimp dumps. A great jellyfish dish as well but kinda costly for dim sum at $10, considered a *special* plate. What's not as good: the chicken feet (not digging the black bean flavoring), bland sticky rice wrapped in bamboo, WHERE WAS THE TRIPE, lack of sauce at the tables to put on the radish cakes/har gow etc, and being given straight up cold food from the carts. Nothing more disappointing than COLD dim sum! Also, dishes were a little on the bland side across all the options. Overall... another option in Cbus! I'm still waiting for a dim sum place to blow my mind, and don't think this one is quite that place, but it's got some benefits over the others and I would come back. read more

It was my first time being here and every single food they had were amazing! I was looking for a good dimsum place in columbus and this was it! I did not make a reservation and waited around 15 min to get in. They have so many choices on menu but not everyone of them were in cart. But think they can make you one if you ask for it. My favorite was shu mai,pork pastry and congee (chinese porridge). Congee is only available on Saturday and Sunday. Servers were keep talking to me in chinese but they were all very nice. Do not recomend you to go if you like quite, private place. This place is more like eating in a banquet hall with lots of people. The food is amazing here, I got the Thai Basil chicken and it was a huge portion, which I finished. Good dumplings and good egg roll. We came in to get din sum but decided to go with traditional meals instead. We were very sketched out about how dirty it was inside. It smells like a very foul cleaning product but also still smells bad. Trash on the floors, everything is filthy, bathrooms are unusable dirty. Hope they clean it up because food is great. read more

Stopped in to try their Dim Sum brunch weekend special. We were amazed at how wonderful everything was. I numbered the photos 1 to 5, 1 being the worst and 5 the best. You will notice the fried shrimp got a 3. The only reason was they still had the shell on them. Most people don't like that. Even the waiter said he doesn't like it. We ended up picking our way into the shrimp and lost the good breading. It would be nice if they shelled their shrimp. If the shell wasn't there, they would have gotten a 5, the flavors were amazing. The mango dessert was too bland for our taste. The egg tarts (not pictured) were very good but needs a tiny bit of honey drizzle. Just a suggestion. The two best things we tried were the BBQ pork buns... like eating a donut... and the turnip cakes. At first I thought they were the creamiest mashed potato cakes (with tuna) I've ever tried. I am going to make these at home they were so good. You really should try this place. We ended up spending about $30 each for 2 of us. Best dim sum in Columbus we've had this far. Ty Ginger has a great variety of things and almost every dish is prepared just right. Obviously dough quality makes a big difference and they seem to have the texture and flavors dialed in for each dish. Dare I say that the dim sum here is almost as good as some from the major chinatowns in the rest of the country?! Very surprising for Columbus! Things came out fast and hot, with some delish chili oil and spicy soy sauce on the side. A great variety here with some harder to find dishes (love the beef tripe!) Ordered through DoorDash. Food was good, however, the restaurant charges more money to simply have the food delivered, which makes zero sense. They are doing nothing more than they would if the food was picked up for take out. But they want to charge me an extra $2.50 on a $14.50 bill just because I chose to have DoorDash deliver it? I'll just go to another Asian restaurant, lord knows there are a ton in Dublin and Columbus that deliver and don't up-charge you. Really sad because I love this place. If you're going to up-charge for using DoorDash or any delivery service, you should make customers aware. read more

Run and get the dim sum. Their normal menu, is on par with typical Chinese-American sit-down restaurants in the area so I won't really touch on that. They do dim sum really well here, especially when pickings are slim in Columbus. If you're not familiar with dim sum, it's like tapas style Chinese food rolling in carts and you pick what you like to eat. Everything is fresh, handmade and clean tasting. There's also a decent variety for vegetarians as well. Typically they offer dim sum only during the weekends & holidays. Service can be a hit for miss and you may have to stand up wave "push cart servers" to catch their attention. We have two little ones and we always somehow end up in a back corner where they don't constantly pass by with their cart. But their food is good, so I have to intensely wave to get more food as we inhale. Theyre adequately priced at $4-6 a plate (excluding special items). Shu Mai, fried shrimp balls, and mango pudding are our go-to's. Skip the xiao long bao IMO. I hope their quality remains as a lot of places tend to lack quality after several years. read more

Food is above the average in this local area, but it is obvious the service has significant room to improve. For one lunchtime, I call around 12:30 pm and a lady said my name is on the waiting list, and my seats will be ready about 30 minutes. My family drives quickly and the arrive the restaurant before 13:00, and then one guy seems to be the manager said we just need to wait there again like walk-in people. The call to put my name on the waiting list means NOTHING. They don't prepare any seats for me, then why tell me that I will have the seats after 30 minutes? My fiancé and I regularly attempt to find good dim sum wherever we go and we never find it as good as San Francisco, however this bistro blows almost all other Chinese restaurants I've been to out of the water. We are here visiting family from New York City so comparing it to the Chinatown of New York is difficult but I did enjoy all the food although a little pricey in comparison, it is the best if you're craving authenticity. read more

Great Dim Sum, other meals we have gotten I have found no better than any other Asian stripmall food. Example. I got General Tso, it was smaller than most portions, even the broccoli was only three tiny pieces, the rice wasn't washed and was starchy and about 4 dollars more than anyone else charges for the exact same dish only larger. The pork dumplings were 4 frozen dumplings they thawed out. And charged what you would normally get about 8 or 9 dumplings for at any other place. It was a premade frozen product... For a dim sum place around Columbus area, Ty is the best based on the quality and tastiness. Their dim sum are most fresh comparing to fortune and sunflowers and have more options as well. However, it's pretty pricey here. They are very busy and you may have to wait for a while but the place is pretty clean. I've been eating here about once a month since they first opened and it seems the quality has declined. Everything sort of tastes the same, every dish I've tried lately from mongolian beef to pad see ew just has this very basic soy sauce\salty flavor. Even the general tso chicken tasted bland like the sauce was just some off the shelf food service glop. Also noticed everything is very oily, like the noodle dishes leave a puddle of oil in the carryout container when you finish. The ahi tuna wrap used to be my favorite dish for lunch but but the last time I ordered it the fish did not taste fresh and it was chewy and hard to eat, hard to believe it was "sushi" grade as the menu stated. Also worth mentioning they would not honor the yelp check-in offer for $5 off carryout over $25. The person working there said "they don't use yelp" even though they have the "people love us on yelp" sticker on their window and clearly have a check in offer setup and active as I showed her on my phone. I asked to speak to the manager to confirm this wasn't just a misunderstanding so the lady at the counter went back to get him but he did not come talk to me and just sent the front counter lady back to repeat that they would not honor the coupon. read more

Traveling across the country in search of Dim Sum restaurants has been difficult recently, especially finding places that have indoor dining available. Sticking in the midwest region, I drove through Columbus and came across this restaurant. Came on a Saturday right when the restaurant opened and was seated right away. Multiple tables were closed due to social distancing and luckily it wasn't too busy but began to fill up by the end of our meal. No cart pushing here, you order off the menu specifying which dishes you want, which meant everything came out fresh. The har gow was excellent, with large succulent pieces of shrimp and great flavor, definitely one of the best I have had in the country. The other dishes were good as well, similar to your standard Dim Sum at most Dim Sum restaurants. Prices though were a bit high, with some of the Dim Sum dishes costing $5.50, higher than most Dim Sum restaurants I have been to in the country. Atmosphere was good, feeling more like an upscale Chinese restaurant than your standard Chinese restaurant you see in any chinatown. Overall recommend visiting if you want an authentic Dim Sum experience in this part of the country, and definitely try the har gow. read more

The location is good, the decor is very nice and the place is clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food however was nothing special, in fact it was rather bland. I had the Combination Lo Mein and there was no "POP" to its flavor.The Shrimp was good sized and flavorful and as was the chicken and the beef but that is where the flavor stopped. Something is missing that I have at other places that make the same dish. I also had the fried dumplings and they were good but then those are bought elsewhere and just prepared. My girlfriend (spousal equivalent) had General Tso's and it was completely flavorless, not even a bit of hot despite a number of peppers in it. The fried rice was obviously old and was also lacking in flavor. We stopped about half way through our plates and got the rest to go so that we can take home and doctor it up. Ty Ginger is a great casual choice if you're looking for authentic, delicious Asian food in Dublin. It's a little hidden in a plaza we had never been in before, but once we found it we were very impressed. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and simply organized, and the staff was very attentive as soon as we walked through the doors. We went at about 3 o'clock for a late lunch and our food was delivered to our table pretty quickly. We both ordered bubble drinks which were tasty and fun to drink, and had some lettuce wraps (better than PF Changs!) and satay chicken (grilled perfectly) for starters. My husband had Green Curry chicken, which he said was a little too spicy for him but still delicious, and I had the combination pad thai which was sweet and so tasty! Great portions and lots of protein in every bite, which is awesome considering the pretty low prices. We arrived this Saturday night around 6 PM and was seated immediately with attention as good as it gets. A couple of minutes after sitting down our server was there asking us what we would like to start our evening off with. She ordered the Seafood Rangoon and I the Ahi Seared Tuna with our excellent drinks. As always they were perfect. I had not tried the Rangoon before - OMG how creamy and rich this seafood combination wrapped up in these hot pastries with a drizzle of sweetness drizzled on top, truly loved it. It was great along with my Ahi Tuna as the best accompaniment with my drinks. For entrees I had the Ty Spicy Trio which was delicious and hot just the right amount my partner had the combination Basil Sauce Classic Dish - now her favorite. What a tasteful and filling dinner. We both had enough for a lunch portion for the next day. For desert we both had the New York style cheese cake and I was bad and also had the exquisite vanilla ice cream. Our server was so nice, she was right there asking us if we needed anything throughout our evening meal, I felt like I was her only customer even though she had several tables to serve and the place got packed, I really felt special. I was there for lunch and there were very few people in the restaurant. Food-wise... veggie spring roll and pad thai with tofu (spicy; 3 out of 4), total cost was about $11 for lunch. The pad thai was still fairly mild in spice, which was a little disappointing. It's a dish that is supposed to have some spice at a base level, so it didn't seem like they added any to warrant a 3 out of 4 spice level. When I went, the parking lot was getting torn up and repaved, which seemed to be a good thing. There were some major pot holes throughout, so don't be a speed demon through the parking lot! Overall, decent, not the best. I would like to try one of their bubble smoothies next time. I was going to get one to-go, but they brought the check without asking if I wanted anything else. Very very nice restaurant, looks real super fancy but yet it's not real super expensive, in fact it's quite economical, at least for the lunch menu, which is what I was ordering off of. Love the fireplace! I've only eaten here once but the Pad Thai was awesome and plan to go back here quite often and try some other foods. The tuna wrap especially looks great. The service here is very fast, we were seated immediately upon entering and as I said, i was really impressed with just how nice (and clean, super clean!) the restaurant looked. I've given them 4 stars for my first trip but when I go again I just may bump it to 5 stars if all goes well. I hope to check them out again soon. Will be hard to resist getting the Pad Thai again though!! EDIT: just got back from there today - did a carry out order of Chicken & Shrimp w Fried Rice and an egg roll. The woman at the door was delightful and very friendly, explained how the restaurant has come to be and what they hope to do in regards to giving the customers a great dining experience.
