I wanted to try a new place, and so I checked out Yelp, and Tycoon Kitchen was right around the corner. I went in and got a pumpkin curry which was so so so good. And they were very friendly and kept coming around to see if I needed anything else. They were fast and it was an all around fantastic experience. I will go there again, soon. This place is a hidden gem in SOMA in the Salesforce Center. The food and service are great! The breakfast menu is amazing! Lots of options. The eggs benedict comes with a curry hollandaise sauce that will blow your mind. If you don't feel like breakfast, have lunch or an early dinner there. The crispy chicken sandwich with a coleslaw that has green apple, red onion, and carrot in it, and the sauce they serve it with is so good! It comes with fries also. The drunken noodles, salads, and crispy chicken fried rice, as well as everything else on the menu, are great options. Do yourself a favor and pick up food and a Thai milk tea or other drink options they have and head upstairs to the beautiful park and enjoy! read more

I started a new job in the area a month ago. Just starting to check out the neighborhood. Looking for some whole in the wall place to get some decent lunch at a reasonable price. San Francisco, the options are limited. While walking around i spotted Tycoon Kitchen. It was late in the day so i decided to save it for another day and check it out online. To my surprise the cuisine was a mixture of a few things. Thai, Vietnamese, and traditional American items. Im part Thai so I was drawn to the cuisine immediately. I also noticed online there was an option to make a reservation. I was amazed. Pleasantly so. A dear friend of mine that also works in the area decided to give it a try so today i made my reservation and went for lunch. There is minimal indoor seating... yay reservations. There is outdoor seating and an order to go kiosk at the entrance. I ordered the Pad Se Ew. Remember Im Thai so there are certain flavors i would appreciate in the dish. It was a slam dunk. It was good and the Veggies were fresh. My friend got the Fried chicken sandwich and she loved it. Happy to say I found this place early on and I plan to go back for many more yummy dishes. And when the weather is nice I suggest take your food to go and eat on the rooftop park. read more

I stumbled upon this place looking for something new in the FiDi. Menu looked really good so walked the 5-6 blocks to check it out. It was nice to see some life at the Salesforce Transit Center. Had the pleasure of getting a sandwich here before getting on my bus. It wasn't busy so it took less than ten minutes for my sandwich and fries to get ready and I am so so happy to have made the choice to go here. I think it was a egg and bacon sandwich with Sriracha and it was delightful, tasted so fresh and light and the fries are more on the crispy than thick side and the portion was so so generous. Had an excellent brunch here -- went with a friend, split the sriracha bacon benedict and the french toast with Thai tea sauce, both were fantastic. The Vietnamese coffee was quite good too, if somewhat different from what I've encountered before -- I think they must whip up espresso with the sweetened condensed milk (and maybe some heavy cream?) and then they put that fluffy cloud of sweet coffee on top of basic milk, and you mix it all together at the table. In any case, it was all delicious, and very reasonably priced, at least compared to a lot of other places in SF! No competition at all for tables, at 11am on a Sunday. If you've been standing in line for a brunch table over in areas like the Mission or Castro or Noe Valley, I'd highly recommend walking or taking Muni up to SoMa to try this place out. read more

I think I found a gem. Stumbled upon this place with a friend while we were on lunch break and our initial plans were foiled by a restaurant's odd closing hours. The first thing that caught my eye was the huge menu with a variety of food that all suit my palette (I love Asian fusion). The 2nd thing was the slow but increasingly larger crowd ordering or waiting for their food. I ordered the Tom Yum soup and my friend ordered the Pumpkin Curry. My soup took surprisingly longer than the curry to come out, so I assume they were making it fresh? The kitchen was just as small as the indoor dining space and it was lunch rush hour so that may have been a factor. The food eventually arrived and it was delicious! We sat outside as the indoor seating looked slightly cramped since the space is narrow and small. The restaurant is tucked away in the Salesforce Transit Center, leaving for not a particularly fancy ambiance but this place truly was so good. I am excited to return for a bite to eat soon.
