To be extra careful - I also called Kathy (the affable Sunday driver) and she acknowledged the cancellation of the Sunday order and my changing it to Tuesday when I would be back in NYC. If I was a dairy supplier or customer, I would be wary of someone who is both careless with business processes and with the truth handling easily made dangerous raw dairy. For a Manhattanite, there is no other way to get raw milk that I know of. Sure it's not ideal to have a delivery window that spans Saturday from dawn to midnight, but they do also have pickup locations at some spots in the city if you prefer to shlep it and have the rest of your day back. Aside from that small inconvenience, which I consider a charming foible stemming from their old fashioned low tech down-home nature, getting raw milk and related raw milk products here in NYC (considering the law that prohibits its sale in stores) is a huge boon. It's them, or nothing, so I am very grateful and pleased. We're all used to the convenience and opportunity of EVERYTHING that living in Manhattan offers, but Udder Milk gives you the ONE thing Manhattan doesn't offer anywhere. While an entire Saturday delivery window is not convenient, this product is sooo precious and valuable. I would give this an extra half star, like a 2.5. Most of the products are very good. I'm a huge fan of the raw milk. I like the eggs, but the consistency is different at times. Sometimes the yolks are a nice deep yellowy orange, sometimes they look light yellow like most eggs. I think $6 is a lot for eggs. Even eggs I've gotten from the amish market are less than that. A huge reason that I'm giving them such a low score is because of customer service. They tell you to email them if you're not satisfied with your order, but then all they do is essentially say they don't understand why you don't like it. I had a problem with my $15 pint of eggnog. I don't mind paying more for a quality product, but that is not what I got with the eggnog. It was the consistency of juice...even thinner than milk alone. It wasn't creamy and delicious like I expected it to be. The lady emailed me back and explained that I wasn't used to fresh eggnog. She said it's because chemical fillers are added in all other eggnog. This was after I explained that I have made my own eggnog plenty before and it's always thick. I was at least hoping for a store credit or something so I didn't just waste $15, but instead she just insisted that I didn't know what I was talking about and that I should have liked it. That is poor customer service. I explained that the eggnog was very different from the description on the site. I think the descriptions for the eggnog and real buttermilk should make sure people know the consistency will not be what you're expecting. Both are very thin. I was also a loyal udder milk customer, but no longer use them because of their unreliable and rude drivers. I had a guy who delivered to me at my previous address and he was good, but I moved and got a driver that habitually came days late and at 11pm and would call around that time. I had newborn twins and this guy called and woke me up at 11pm to come get my milk that I assumed wasn't coming. When I asked if this was going to be a repeat problem (as the milk was supposed to come an entire day earlier) he gave me an attitude and told me to leave a cooler outside. Which is a fine idea if you don't have 3 dogs and newborn babies....I told him to keep his milk and eggs if he couldn't be more accomodating and come within normal business hours. read more

It's hard to see someone give a business 1 star for contributing to issues such as delivery connections etc. This is a small family business and first for them to take on providing the convenience of delivering milk and other goods on the busiest roads in the US you would think people would be a bit more understanding. Our first order we assumed they were not coming so around 5'oclock traveled from Hackensack (point of delivery) to Willowbrook Mall in Wayne. Around 7:30 I believe, we received a call that he'd arrived and we were not there. Long story short I would be agitated if I went to make a delivery and the person was not there. As a COD customer guess what, he just drove to my place of business to not be paid. Now when we told the driver at this company people are bad mouthing for delivery issues we were in Wayne but would do anything to meet up with him he agreed to meet us at a stop he coincidentally had not far from Wayne. We missed the delivery so it was up to us to accommodate them. If your delivery was late that day we could have been the cause so living in NJ/NY you have to take into consideration the traffic you know is unpredictable, the attempt to perhaps accommodate that person who was not home and that they do not have a fleet of trucks delivering which would raise their prices. The driver was extremely pleasant at a time a Jersey guy would've been nasty when he explained to us they have clearly on the website if you are not going to be home simply leave a cooler and the money for them. If you are not able to do this you cannot blame the company. About the quality of the food I appreciate the simple packaging that lets me know they are doing whatever they can to keep costs down and still provide a service that went out in the 50's! The goat butter and eggs were amazing and just the thought of being able to acquire sheep cream for my confections is amazing. I didn't mention my experience with Udder Milk before because I was so annoyed by the "food poisoning" assertion made by the uneducated Yelper having my own business and knowing the backlash of an assertion like that can do for business outside the fact rules and regulations for claiming to have food poisoning in a public forum HAVE to be sustained, if I was Udder Milk I'd sue jaclyn c. There are legalities to putting such foolishness out there. Perhaps she should check her recipe and the other ingredients put in there. No I do not work for Udder Milk but I do find it offensive when people can say something based on a lack of knowledge that could ruin it for the rest of us. read more

It's difficult to find raw dairy and I appreciate that their products are so easily available. I have never had any problems with the quality of their food or their service. Products range from great to pretty good. Love the raw butter, milk and honey. Cheeses are good. I liked the lamb and ground beef. By the way, person who wrote that the eggs are not fresh (bright orange yolks)--they are only bright orange in the spring, when chickens are back out in the field and eating yummy bugs. Winter=no bugs=no orange yolks. Products are a solid four stars, but they have to actually be in my fridge for me to appreciate them.... The problem with this service is more often than not I don't get my orders. They hijack your entire day....when I first started ordering from them MANY years ago, no problem. Always around the same time, always more or less what I ordered. Usually everything was pretty fresh. They took checks back then, so I didn't have to worry about my cash being unattended while I went about my day. I loved this service. Then their main delivery guy (who was stealing from them? but was awesome as far as I was concerned) was fired and that's when I stopped getting my orders with any kind of regularity. Most of the time, no one showed up. No response as to my query why. That was 2011. I gave up. Decided to try them out again. I mean, they've had 3 years to work out the kinks, right? Placed my order, and sent a precautionary email asking if they were going to deliver to me--either way was fine, just let me know so I don't waste my day. No response. According to the web site, my order has been "delivered", so I assumed it was coming. I called today (I saw on the web where you could find out what your window of delivery was) 5 different numbers, finally got Kathy who said she'd find out and get back to me--six hours later, no return call. Once again, I've waited around all day.....now why do I have this feeling I'll be running out to the grocery store for milk and butter tomorrow? I've placed two orders with Udder Milk for pick up in Jersey City. There is no more home delivery in Jersey City. Ahmed, the driver for Jersey City's deliveries, is very friendly and prompt. He's always at the site before the 5-7pm window. On my 2nd delivery, some items were not available, due to them not being available from the farmer. I think it's unfair to blame Udder Milk for items not being available when they are driving to Amish country to get these nutritious real raw dairy products and what's available seasonally is always uncertain! Anyway, the quality is incredible. What a difference! I haven't bought milk in years, stopped drinking poison pasteurized homogenized milk ages ago, and even store-bought yoghurts didn't always agree with me, but Udder Milk's raw dairy makes me feel amazing! My skin, hair, and joints have improved since putting raw dairy back into my diet, and I even feel more flexible. Admittedly the service can be lousy and they are pretty disorganized indeed. I did wait all day for no delivery the first time I ordered, and the second time I had to sort out the mess of delivery contacts to find out when to be home, but I've never experienced actual rudeness from them. I've been ordering from udder milk since December 2014. I've ordered milk, eggs, cream, honey, beef & soap. Now I'm consistently getting milk & egg deliveries every sunday and Mohamed is our delivery man. I get my delivery around 7pm every sunday within the time frame of 5pm-7pm. That totally works for us since we're almost home every sunday during that time. Yes he can be late most of the time but I don't worry too much because he'll call or ring my bell once he arrives. I'm a happy customer and I've recommended udder milk to many of my friends. I see that there are a lot of delivery complaints but I guess that varies by the driver and where you live? It's hard to come up with the exact time when you're on the road and I totally understand that. In the beginning I put the note on my order to call me when they're 10min away and I got a call from Mohamed. I don't ask them to call me anymore because I'm mostly home during that time frame. I think it's so awesome that I have option to get fresh delivery of raw milk each week in the city! They don't charge delivery fee either. You just need to order more than $20 for a delivery so I order 2 1/2 gallon milks & 2 dozen of eggs each week as a base! That makes it $22. I think you can't really beat the price of milk! its $5 for 1/2 gallon and it so yummy! My kids loves their milk! I do too! quality of eggs varies because their chickens doesn't get enough sun in the winter time. I understand that as well because we ALL don't get enough sun in the winter time! they do have deeper orange color compared to store bought organic eggs. some eggs are lighter but doesn't bother me too much since it's winter. I'm hoping to see more deep orange yolks for the coming spring/summer time! As long as they keep up with their promise of grass fed/ organic pastured dairies,, I'm sticking with them! So thankful that I have this option. I am so happy there are people like Udder Milk who deliver delicious raw milk products to your door! The quality of the milk products is OUTSTANDING, and the flavor is simply superb. Just what I used to drink when I was a kid :) This is what real stuff tastes like! I also made the most delicious vanilla ice cream from their milk, and I think I'll never buy store-made ice cream ever again. Yes, their customer service can be better and they can use some better organization, but I can't complain! There is no raw milk on farmer's markets here. I wasn't thrilled with some of their other products, but I love milk, eggs, yogurt, butter (the best), sour cream, cottage cheese and cream. Couple of times we ordered the meats, and while the cuts were not the greatest, the flavor blew us away! Really can taste the difference between grass-fed beef and your usual one. I'm writing now that I've been a customer for more than a year. Their milk - any type they offer, is excellent: Guernsey, Sheep, Goat milk; most recently, Water Buffalo milk. I've had them all. I've had their yogurt: cow, goat and sheep; Greek yogurt - cow, and goat. Everything they sell keeps well because it's fresh. I've tried their cow and goat kefir: excellent. Recently I've been getting their goat Feta which is the best I've had; it makes me suspect all of their cheese may be especially good quality. I ordered their dried fruit snack and a chocolate snack: excellent. They are nutrient dense and delicious. I cooked their chicken but it is tough so I'm assuming they are older laying hens. They taste fine but were not tender; to be fair I only tried one. Its evident their products are all handled carefully to maintain quality and avoid any health issues at every stage prior to delivery. Once or twice I've called regarding delivery of an order and those I've spoken with were pleasant and addressed my concern directly. I would prefer delivery earlier in the day but the delivery people are consistent and extremely nice. Their website appears a home-made effort; their marketing and delivery one of a kind. Hands down the best milk I have ever had in my life. I really wish they had this in Japan, as I will miss this milk quality once I return. The milk is thick, rich, delicious. I think the packaging could be a little better, not that it matters but i thought at least if the packaging was good it would encourage me to be excited about this "fresh" produce. however, honestly i just wanted to experience the raw milk and i can't say its the bestest quality, it certainly wasnt worth the price i paid. I cook the raw milk from uddermilk like what my grandma did and give to my kids. I started searching online for farm fresh stores by me and I could not find one but this place was recommended and they have an online store that you can purchase and they deliver it straight to my door. Their items are farm fresh and 80% of their items come from the Amish. Their online store features farm fresh dairy, meats, chicken, sauerkraut and so many other items... There is an entire list of items they offer and I've tried their chuck and flank steaks, their chicken stock, beef stock, raw cow milk, raw lamb milk, farm fresh eggs, sauerkraut, chicken bones, lamb ground meat, ghee raw butter and beef ground meet. Everything that i have ordered has been fantastic! I never knew that the meat i purchased from the local supermarket was so heavy and thick. I never had farm meat before and it is so light and so very juicy at the same time. I cannot recommend this online business more. I order by Tuesday and delivery (In my area) in on Wednesdays. There is always someone home so it is convenient for me but i could understand that you may have a problem with delivery if you are not home because they do not come in the same set time. One day they came around 1pm the next time they came at 5pm but the same gentleman comes every week and he is pleasant and the items are cold. The meat is iced and hard as a rock. I never realized before that a real egg yolk is orange and not yellow! I LOVE THEM. Try them out but you have been warned about their delivery time. They also have pickup times and it looks like it is more convenient as it is a set time but you have to drive to location to pick up. read more
