Except for the spicy tuna sushi, everything was nigiri. They also gave me a surprise miso soup. I don't recall seeing that on the menu, so thanks Umiya! Nice touch. Let's talk about these boxes. They remind me of grocery store sushi, so that's a turnoff. My wasabi was creamy and the ginger was fragrant, light and fresh. Plus I got some lemon slices! There's nothing worse than that gross overpowering pickled ginger. It ruins the meal. I won't go back if you have nasty ginger. And speaking of nasty, I'm sure the albacore was fine. I just regret it was my first bite. I've never had albacore nigiri before and it just reminded me of straight tuna sandwich. It was chef's pick, so I didn't have a choice. There are a whole 2 pieces though and it's giving me the ick. Now having said that, I know that's a me thing. Albacore just isn't my bag. Way too fishy. And on to the good! Everything else was fabulous. My miso soup with little tofu bits and green onion washed the fishy away and I was soon into the main event. I loaded my spicy tuna sushi with wasabi and ginger, the kick of the spicy tuna shined through with a lovely sesame oil aftertaste. As expected, the rice was on point. One of my sisters loves this place and every time she is in town we frequent it. I'm not big on AYCE sushi but I will go with her as she loves it. The service is always great, they're very quick and the staff all helps each other. You can make reservations as typically it's very busy at night. It's off flamingo, close to the Palms casino and not too far from the strip. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys trying a bit of everything-Japanese and sushi style. I visited Umiya Sushi with high hopes, but left incredibly disappointed (and with an upset stomach). The food quality here is highly questionable. It feels like the kitchen relies on drowning everything in unnecessary, heavy sauces just to cover up bad fish.The jalapeno poppers were gross, and the baked mussels were disgusting and completely swimming in warm mayo. The specialty rolls suffered from the same issue....the sauce on the orange blossom roll tasted sour, and the Alaska roll had an overpowering, unpleasant "smoked salmon" taste. When they weren't masking items with sauce, the portions were tiny. The nigiri was incredibly small. Whatever came with the green bean tempura for dipping was totally useless and lacked flavor. All-You-Can-Eat? Challenge Accepted. I was in Las Vegas for a trade show and my birthday, and naturally the only logical decision was to celebrate by entering an all-you-can-eat sushi arena. Enter Umiya, U-M-I-Y-A, home of "Oh, you think you can eat that much? Bet." Let me tell you: this place does not play. Fresh oysters? Yes. Spicy octopus? Absolutely. Rolls, nigiri, sashimi? Unlimited, which is dangerous because I apparently lose all self-control around tuna nigiri. I think I legitimately ate my weight in it. And instead of being normal with ginger and wasabi, I dipped that beautiful tuna in ponzu sauce like it was a sport. I could've entered a ponzu-dipping competition and won. Miso soup? To die for. Tempura? Veggie tempura for DAYS. Sea urchin (uni)? Listen... if you know, you know. If you don't, get it anyway and prepare to become a believer. It lives rent-free in my mind now. I am updating my review in 2026 and I'm happy to say while somethings have changed it is still an excellent place to come and get all the sushi you can possibly eat for what is a bargain. In 2026 there are now 3 levels of service. Lunch AYCE which covers 80% of a smaller but still incredibly extensive menu. Then there is a higher tier called All Day or basically a dinner take which brings in more options and then a Premium which lets you get everything. First, let me say, even with the lower tiers you would die before you could try everything once. Even one piece from everything would be enough to kill most mortals. Premium brings options like Urchin. Unlike most AYCE they don't try to kill your appetite with rice. Their sushi comes with the least rice I've ever seen at any sushi bar. Also unlike any AYCE I've ever been to the quality and flavor is insane for under $50 all in on premium. Considering you can spend $15-$20 less at other times of the day and still drown in most standard types of sushi and rolls galore is ridiculous. In 2026 after a few years of the vibe being a bit off for me they've really redone the interior with more noise breaks, a lot of TVs on mute and just a more refreshed yet cozier feel. Oh, and before I forget, they have a pretty large drink menu with reasonable prices too. I didn't imbibe, but only because I was busy trying to drown in sushi. One of my top recommendations in Vegas or anywhere. Has it changed? Yes, but the rice reduction, renovation and incredible quality makes it as good now as ever. read more

The soft shell crab roll was a big disappointment, and none of the fried items had that crisp texture you'd expect, the batter was soft and soggy. It is well lit and the inside of Umiya was hopping! We were immediately seated with a reservation for 7pm. We started out with a lobster crunch roll and an orange blossom as well as a plethora of nigiri. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. We followed up with a Snow White, sexy and shrimp lover roll. These three items were also full of flavor and fresh and delicious. I ordered up a couple $3 Sake bombs which were a great deal and also quite refreshing. I finished off the meal with another round of yellowtail, halibut, tuna and salmon nigiri and the. We had vanilla ice cream with churro. The wait staff was attentive and spectacular with their recommendations; the interior was bustling and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Nope! Not a fan! I came here once years ago, and I realized why I didn't wanna come back. Yes, it's "all you can eat" and other small dish items, but that to me was a sign that quality would likely be average at best. Just one lady taking everyone's order, but by the time an item would come out another server would just put the plate on the table. And we'd have to figure out who ordered what.
