Sometimes, you just need half a dozen cookies to brighten up your afternoon. I stopped by here for the first time the other day and was not disappointed. Upon walking in, I chatted with the ladies working behind the counter and they offered me a sample of their best seller - chocolate chip. Ummmm... the sample was a whole cookie! Smaller than the cookies for sale but it was a surprise to me. Also, it was warm so it just gave my soul the warm and fuzzies. Upon checkout, I was told that my half a dozen cookies included either a water bottle or milk. I don't remember the last time I had a glass of milk but I felt like a kid again and decided on chocolate milk. I ate 5 of the 6 cookies. I wanted to eat them all but I decided to be nice and shared one with my husband. Will definitely stop by when I'm in the area!

Burnt cookie .

First off, I absolutely love Uncle Biff's white chocolate macadamia cookies -- they've always been my go-to, and I usually order a dozen in advance to get them fresh. But today was really disappointing. When I called to place my order, the person who answered was surprisingly rude and had an off-putting tone. I tried to brush it off, but when I arrived and picked up my order, I could tell just by looking at the cookies that something was off -- they looked overbaked. Sure enough, they were hard and lacked the soft, chewy texture I've always loved. It also seemed like there were new staff working, and I really hope the quality and vibe of this place doesn't change. I'll give it another shot, but I truly hope my next visit is more like the Uncle Biff's I know and love.

Cookie Cake

I was looking for a place that could make a cookie cake for my husband's birthday at the last minute. I called and spoke with a lady that was super nice and she told me they'd be able to have it ready the next day! When I arrived she offered me a warm, delicious cookie to sample, which turned out to be the best oatmeal raisin I've ever had! I also purchased a half dozen to try different flavors and they were all amazing! They make you feel like family the minute you step in the door. I absolutely love it and we'll definitely be back!

I love the cookie's here. They have great service friendly and kind. They make a great product. And the have a great selection of cookie's. They have milk both white and chocolate and water and tea. Easy parking and lots of same.

Double Peanut Butter and an everything cookie.

I got a couple of these for my birthday and wow they're so soft and delicious. I got a peanut butter one and an everything type cookie. I'd definitely recommend this store for cookies and I'll definitely be back for more sweet soft buttery cookie treats.

Great cookies, perfect consistency and great flavors. The staff is very friendly every time. Only downside, for cookies, they're pricey.

In our day's Sunnyslope business, our niece took us to Kris Frybread. Arriving we saw Dawn's. She said Dawn's gets high ratings too. After our excellent Kris meal I made my way to Dawn's. I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. We will return for some more flaky, apple-y goodness. The webpage makes mymouth water. I see many items are normal and mini sized. Great idea Dawn.

The aroma alone is worth the visit; it wraps around you the second you step through the door and feels like a warm welcome. The staff is consistently friendly and genuinely helpful with recommendations (which you'll need when everything looks that good). Every item I've tried has been incredibly fluffy, moist, and full of flavor -- the kind of bakery where you can taste the quality in every bite. A true neighborhood gem that makes indulgence feel justified.

Have a meal at The Sicilian Butcher and then follow that up with dessert at The Sicilian Baker. There are several locations in town, with this one being in North Phoenix. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Thursday. Parking tends to be busy in their complimentary lot, but you'll find a spot. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. In fact, all of the desserts I've had here over the years have been quite good.

I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.

This location is quite a large one with quite a bit of seating along with an organized line area to go upon arrival. I recently joined the loyalty program and tried something new this time. I was delighted by my visit. When I first walked in, I saw quite a number of customers deciding what to order while a number of them were already in line. There were also a number of employees working behind the registers helping customers. I walked around and looked at the self-serve section, the options behind the counter, and the menu. I decided to order a sourdough turkey melt. It came out nice and toasted and quite tasty. There was a wait until it was ready, but that was to be expected as it was weekend lunch-time. The employees were so helpful and walked me through how everything worked and how to come back and take advantage of special offers. You can learn more about Paris Baguette and this particular location at https://parisbaguette.com/locations/az/scottsdale/16495-n-scottsdale-road. It is open daily from 6 AM to 9 PM.
