An yet another disappointing failure on both the restaurant and GrubHub to complete an order. Instead of notifying me that my order was never picked up, the charged it as completed and closed. After waiting 15mins past closing, I call to find THAT YET AGAIN GrubHub was a complete waste of my time. I am now starving and hour later, 7:30pm, no dinner that was preordered two hours before closing... this is why I never use their services. The restaurants and GrubHub both cannot seem to figure out how to run their businesses correctly. UPDATE: got a call from the owner of the BBQ Truck: it seems we caught GrubHub with its pants on fire. The owner is STILL AT THE FOOD CART PAST CLOSING sitting on my order! Apparently the driver and GrubHub completely dropped the ball on us both! My roommate came home (I pulled my back/neck and cannot drive and was alone, hence the delivery) and saved the day by running to grab the food. Wow! Quarantine delivery thru GrubHub, without leaving the Yelp app. Never had Uncle Budsy's but I knew where the cart was, next to WinCo at Powell with that small cluster of carts. For two adults, we shared a 2 meat plate with some added ribs. We also added sauces for $2 each. The ribs were cooked perfectly, not soggy or husky and dessicated. The meat came away from the bone easily. The sausage went equally well with all 3 sauces (sweet BBQ, smoky BBQ and Jamaican mustard). Our third meat was chicken legs which were maybe a little tougher than desired but still smoky and delightful. Sides were on point: The potato salad wasn't too soggy with sauce (I just ordered Mac salad somewhere that had 3 or 4 times the usual amount of mayo - post traumatic mayo disorder, for real!) and had a nice mustard/pickle zing to complement the pickle chips, which were lightly fried and battered (tempura?) with a bit of bite left. We added a side of beans (made with apples and brisket burnt ends) and they were pleasing as hell. I'm surprised nothing was soggy, or cold, or lackluster. Every item was at least as good as you'd think from a BBQ place! I don't love ordering delivery because it's more expensive and the food that arrives is lower quality than if you just drove there and picked it up yourself. I also like that I got to pick my soda thru the app (Dr Pepper for a buck - half the price of BBQ sauce! - with BBQ for a special treat). The Mac and cheese on the other hand it was awful, the pasta was dry and hard and the tiny bit of cheese sauce which tasted like nacho cheese sauce was just drizzle on top not mixed together. Ordered through Grubhub for the first and unfortunately last time. I ordered a hot link sandwich and a 2 rib meal. The sauce on the sandwich was inedible. The ribs were extremely dry and had no meat on them. The sauce on the side was good, and made the ribs not so dry. The Mac and cheese was also dry. The hot link seemed fresh, but I couldn't get past the sauce. If the sauce that was on the side for the ribs was on the sandwich, at least one thing today would have been edible. It arrived quickly though, but I imagine it was due to microwaving the food. Also, the audacity to charge 17.00 for 2 baby back rib bones, smaller than my finger, and a side of Mac...that is robbery. Comes with heavy heart, I even have to write this. First of all, one of the owners stiffed me on 1250 in pay, while he was trying to get me to use my influence to invest in his failing restaurant. Food is awfully inconsistent, they are horrible to the staff, what's left of them and they just lie about everything. No sauces, everyone's stoned, and lazy as all get out. Glad to say I got out of this deal the hard, expensive way but who cares, I'm a comedian and the bit I got to write about this is worth the price of a ticket to come hear it at my shows. All Barbecue cooks and pit Masters so they've got the best tasting barbecue there is but the only real way you can tail who has the best is you've got to taste it. I believe we have the best tasting bbq in Las Vegas and I can cook the best tasting at a cook off we will host here in Vegas on Valentines Day 2024. read more
