The baked clams were just warm and had a too heavy sauce which took away from the taste of the crams. The Maryland crab cake had a bit too much fillers and seasonings that you cook not taste the crab. Definitely not a lump light crab cake. It was too fried for my taste. The wife and I went here for our anniversary and were treated like VIP by all the staff. Starting with the manager, she wished us a happy anniversary as we were seated, she was very friendly and made our night that much more enjoyable . The apps were very good we split the crab cakes and capresi salad. The waiter had the kitchen split the plates for us with was nice, and made sure we were pleased with our dinner . The steaks were cooked perfectly and were delicious. The sides were just OK and why I bumped them down a star. We were given a chocolate cake for desert to finish our dinner. Uncle Jack's reputation precedes it so for my birthday, my wife took me there for a steak dinner. We didn't have reservations but were able to be seated at the bar right away. I ordered the surf and turf which was a huge steak and a 10 oz lobster tail. My wife only wanted a ceasar salad, her favorite snack. My steak was slightly over cooked; ordered medium- rare, received medium leaning towards medium-rare but the lobster tail was clearly cooked 2 minutes too long as it was chewy. I didn't say anything because the sear and crust on my steak was awesome. My wife's salad was just chopped romaine lettuce on a plate. No croutons. No shaved parmesan. Just so plain. She was upset that a restaurant of this caliber couldn't produce a simple salad. She asked the bartender for the missing cheese and he brought out a cheese grinder and grated her some cheese. She looked at me, I looked at her and before I knew it, she called for a manager. The manager claimed to be new and the bartender claimed this is how they serve a caesar salad. Apparently, no one has ever had a real caesar salad before and therefore don't know how wrong their $13 plate of chopped lettuce is. Needless to say, they took the salad off the bill. They offered to make another but it was too late, her mood was set already. I have never been to a restaurant that does everything perfectly. My husband made reservations this past Friday for 7pm. My surprise date started with no more than a 5 minute wait for the valet. Once the car was taken care off we went inside and were about to be seated when the mgr made the suggestion of moving us to a better table. Robin our Maitre D' was excellent. He made quite well recommendations on the house specials. Our glasses of water were never empty and we had quite an attentive staff. I do have to say our filet mignons were cooked to the temperature we requested and the shrimps were not overcooked. In addition, our tuna tartare was excellent, I do have to say the best I've had so far. The only time I usually go to Uncle Jack's is during an Office party or dinner. The restaurant isn't very big, so I recommend making a reservation. Also, Uncle Jack's got valet parking, since parking on Bell Blvd is hard, especially at night with all the other restaurants on Bell Blvd. I usually order the 48oz Porterhouse steak with Mash Potato which I ate myself. The steak is good, but I would prefer to eat at the other steakhouses in the city. The service is very good at Uncle Jack's and the decor is nice. Uncle Jack's Steakhouse is definitely one of the best steakhouses in Queens (and also has 2 locations in Manhattan). The new lunch menu has a Prime Filet Mignon Sandwich and Fried Chicken and Buttermilk sandwich I definitely want to try. (There is a weekend brunch menu as well where you can get short rib hash and such). They also do both a ladies night Thursday and guy's night on Wednesday, where you can get samples compliments of the chef. If burgers are your thing, they have different specialty burgers each night -- so Uncle Jack's is hard to beat for variety. Also, kid's eat free Sunday. read more

It's a classy looking joint, nice to know its so close to home. Their attentive, the bus boys are on top of their responsibilities. However, I asked who the my server was because he only took our order and never came back to ask how we were doing. His name is michael. Meanwhile, Tracy, Who I thought was the manager, stopped by our table to ask how things were. Turns out he's also a server. Tracy also gave me a dessert to celebrate my 32nd wedding anniversary I was celebrating with my daughter. Tracy also stopped by the other tables to ask how the customers were doing. I took my godfather here for his 81st birthday. The place has an old feel to it and its kinda narrow. The staff were really friendly and accommodated my request for candles in his dessert and they sang to him. They're the only reason I'm giving them the star, otherwise i'd give them zero. I ordered the rib eye with steak fries and garlic mashed potatoes which was highly recommended. The steak was a little dry and lacked flavor. The fries tasted AWFUL, like they were cooked in cigarette smoke and the mashed potatoes were lackluster. I couldn't even tell there was garlic in it. For the price, I expected much more. I could get a much better meal in Manhattan for the same price. I'm disappointed and I will not be returning. read more

Waiter came over and gave us the wine list we declined because we were going to have beer and cocktails. No problem. We were told the specials all sounded amazing and the let loose on our order, no menu's. started with 2 orders of baked little neck clams, 2 orders crab cakes, oysters, and an order of muscles. All were fantastic. Then on to the main courses. I shared the porter house for 2, daughter had the bone in filet, wife had the sword fish and other daughter had the seared tuna. Sides, lobster Mac & cheese, regular mac & cheese, garlic mash potatoes, sauté spinach. Steaks, fish all cooked to perfection. Side were large and we were stuffed. For desert, chocolate cake, some kind of lava cake,and tiramisu they even comp'd one. Wait staff was excellent and on the top of their game. I ask someone walking by for a little more bread, he didn't have our table but never skipped a beat and it was there in seconds. Came here with family for Sunday brunch. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We started off the meal with brioche french toast for the table and it was delicious. I ordered an everything bagel and lox, but sampled food from everyone else. My dish was pretty basic but instead of an everything bagel I got a plain one. The porterhouse for two almost rivales Peter Lugar's except it was not as fatty. The kid size burger is pretty much the same size as the prime burger for some reason. The waiters came by ever so often to ask how our meal was and to refill our cups of coffee. At the end of the meal, the owner gave each of us giftcards, which was a nice gesture. My husband and I were here last night and I must say mediocre expectations quickly got changed to low expectations when we had their sad excuse for buffalo chicken on a stick at the bar. We had a reservation but they still sat us practically in the kitchen which was rather obnoxious. Food was mediocre and definitely overpriced which is fascinating since there are better steakhouses up the road in great neck .... you know that guy and cooper or the one that started in Brooklyn ... both of which are slightly less expensive but significantly better, you'd think they'd do some market research. Also I guess they're having money issues because they're passing on the credit card service fee to their customers, tacky and definitely not something you'd expect from a "high end" establishment. My favorite steak in NYC. Recently they have been offering broiled king crab legs for an appetizer, they are a must try. The porterhouse for two is another must. It's the best of both worlds, NY strip and filet mignon. Get it charred for extra deliciousness. Their maple bacon is seriously to die for. They had a special of Brussels sprouts with maple bacon if they offer it, get it. The steak fries are sinful and crispy beyond belief. My favorite restaurant in Queens. I never had lollipop lamb chops and asparagus as delicious as Uncle Jacks. Though i am not a steakeater i hear the porterhouse for two is great. It is a no frills steakhouse and not as gloomy as Luger;s it is good for families or dining solo. They have a great wine list, and solid appetizers (baked clams are fresh), surpisingly i had an amazing pecan pie for dessert once. This is my go to spot when I'm in the Bayside area! For a non-beef eater, there are quite a few options available. I've had the lamb chops several times and it has never disappointed. The staff is phenomenal. They seem to always be friendly and make sure that you are never without a drink. Great option for a "guy's night". The only downside is the parking situation, due to the high volume in the area, parking can take some time. Plan ahead to avoid delays with reservations, especially if with a big party. I had 9pm dinner reservations with a girlfriend for her birthday and arrived 15 min early, we waited 25 min for a table while 2 couples walked in behind us and were promptly escorted to a table. Finally after asking 3 times for a table we were seated, I ordered a mojito and got a small glass of club soda and some liquor no mint leaf. I asked waiter why no mint he lied and said she doesn't 'use mint leaves so i refused it and waiter returned with a tall glass and mint leaf made by him again but still was not a real pressed sugar Mojito. We sat for 15-20 min after ordering appetizers and were never offered bread. My friend asked if they don't offer bread (for me) and was told "it's served upon request only" . My friend ordered shrimp scampi for appertizer and advised waiter she eats gluten free and was brought 5 plain shrimps (no garlic, olive oil) so she asked for at least some sauce after 10 min bus boy brought some red sauce. Our young and older waiter nerve came back to the table to check if "Everything was okay". We ordered a prime rib steak and waited 40 min and after asking waiter why was taking so long we were told kitchen was backed up. Behind us a table of 6 unruly drunk guys yelled, laugh and cursed and bragged about going to strip clubs and waiters never told them to lower their voices. My girlfriend and I could not hear each other talk. Other couples who came after us were seated, served and checked on and left before us. This was to say the least a VERY traumatizing dining experience. WILL NEVER GO BACK or if you are women dining alone don't venture into this egotistical place named Uncle Jack's!! read more

His complaints about the restaurant were loud, ongoing & profane. We went to Uncle Jack's last night for my fiance's birthday. We had indicated it was his birthday dinner on OpenTable. We were seated promptly, our waiter was attentive and informative. My fiance had formally worked at one of NYC's best butcher's which supplied the top restaurants in NYC. He was very happy with his steak, it was cooked properly and the sides were fantastic. I had fish which was also cooked properly and very fresh. The cocktails were great as well as the wine by the glass. They surprised us with a dessert (candle lit ) for my fiance on the house. They also gave him a bottle of steak sauce as a birthday gift. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would go back for sure! Before this review, I might have given 4 stars, perhaps even 5. That was based on a midweek dinner experience where everything was pretty much on point. But after a lunch visit, I was left a bit soured... I went in for their $24.95 Prix Fixe lunch which sounded like a phenomenal deal. I was greeted, and promptly seated by a maitre'd in a suit, so far so good. The problem began when I was given the menu. No sign of the prix fixe. Now I began to wonder if I read the website right. Everything on the a la carte menu was pretty darn pricey, so now I'm concerned. I grabbed one of the waiters and asked him if there was a menu for the prix fixe, and he told me I had to speak to the maitre'd. Bottom line, they made it a bit awkward...I don't feel you should have to pry that option out of them, they should make you aware of it upon presenting the menu. Once I got that straightened out, I must say the food was very good. My lunch included a small Mesclun salad, followed by a crab cake with a lovely sauce, and a choice of 3 or 4 entrees. I chose the petite filet, which was cooked perfectly and delicious. It also came with decent helping of garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. My second minor complaint was the drink prices. I wanted a glass of red to accompany my steak, so the maitre'd steered me toward a Cabernet, Kenwood's Yulupa. It was very good, but overpriced at $10 a glass. For a $12 bottle of wine, glass pricing should be more like $6-7 IMO... Last complaint is not as much to do with the restaurant, but the nature of people in general. This moron 2 tables over from me spoke loudly and aggressively on his cell almost the whole meal. I wish that the waitstaff would have politely tried to curtail this. I did not make it known to them that I was displeased so I cannot really fault them 100%. Anyway, I will probably go back, but not in a hurry for sure. read more

We ordered jumbo shrimp (3), kobi meatballs and the crab cakes as appetizers. All were amazing. For dinner we (3 of us) ordered the filet mignon. Mine was perfectly cooked.
