Food and service absolutely amazing!!! Would definitely recommend to come back here. We had the steak, garlic mashed potatoes and spinach and it was absolutely delicious for a random last minute date night!

We came here last night for dinner and as soon as we walked in, we were instantly sat at our table . The service was amazing, we ordered the maple bacon as an appetizer and it arrived with 2 dipping sauces , a peanut butter one and a chipotle maple glaze wow oh wow it was amazing . For dinner we ordered the porter house for 2 it was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned . And for dessert we shared the tiramisu. Everything was amazing . The ambiance was great , reminded us of an old school Italian restaurant. A lot of old school decor , wood paneling etc... . The price was fair and they offer valet which is a huge plus in a busy area like that , parking would be impossible.

Ambiance was decent, very old fashioned, dimly lit inside. Service was excellent, and the food was solid, too. My family and I all ordered different temps on the steak, all of them were prepared OKAY. Steak was tasty, definitely could use some salt, but great charred taste. Sides were really excellent, especially the creamed spinach and garlic mash. Very pricey, however. I'd go again for a nice occasion.

This could've been such a lovely experience but the knucklehead waiter that tended to us ruined it. My 2nd visit here was sabotaged by his (Angel's the name) unprofessionalism and UNCOUTHNESS! He was horrendous. Not sure why he is even a staff member of this lovely establishment. His potty mouth and constant self insertion into our private conversations were appalling. I've never had to deal with such foolery while dining out before. I really wanted to tell him to "Get LOST" on several occasions..he kept lingering near our table eavesdropping and giving his opinion on topics when no-one asked or cared what he thought..!!! It was very weird and annoying!! What was supposed to be a romantic dinner for two, felt more like a night at a sports bar and NOT a good one. However, the food was good, but my entree definitely would've been more enjoyable if I didn't lose my appetite mid meal from all of the negative energy.. Given the prices of these menu items, wait staff should definitely be selected for hire at a HIGHER STANDARD!!!

We made a reservation for a party of 8 and we were quickly seated. It is street parking and if you cant find any, they actually have valet parking at night only. Since it was our first time, we had to get a little bit of everything. Apps: -organic mesclun salad -maryland style crab cake -wagyu kobe meatballs -lollipop lamb chios -thick cut maple glazed bacon ( my fav) mains: porterhouse for 2 australian wagyu ( my fav) yabba dabba doo chop for two sides: creamed spinach lobster and truffle mac and cheese (my fav) bacon corn brulee desserts: chocolate souffle pecan pie pistachio cake (my fav) the staff were really nice and know about their menu, the ambiance is really nice and would definitely go back to try out other things on the menu!

Came in with a party of 4, we didn't make a reservation but we were seated immediately. We got the porterhouse for 2 ($149), prime filet 12oz ($55) , and steak fries($12), all medium rare. My favorite was the prime filet, it was cooked to perfection and it bursted with flavor. The fries were normal wedges, nothing really stood out about it. The porterhouse was okay too. We were told that there was a porterhouse for 3 but we just stuck to 2, which I'm glad we did. I kind of expected more from this because it was so pricey. The ambience of the store is nice they have a lot of portraits. I would come back for the prime filet!

The French Dip sandwich was exactly what you'd expect but with prime steak slices. Juicy goodness, was a perfect lunch a day off from work.

Amazing food, apps and seafood tower were off the hook.. Steaks as promised we had a large party and the staff overcame any issues our party might have had. The steaks were done perfectly and the porter house for two as always was on point as well as the filet and I believe better than Lugers.. the sides of spinach and garlic mash were killer. Over all great service and all were very happy with the choice for our party. Uncle jacks and Willie D always come through for us.

Bacon Corn Brulee - little too sweet for me but still worth checking out

Quaint & cozy is how I would describe the decor - nice, spacious bar. It can feel a little tight but it's not the biggest restaurant so they make do with the space they have. I passed by this place so many times & never thought twice about it ...until my friend took me here for a belated birthday dinner. How the hell did I miss this gem? Their thick cut maple glazed bacon is killer - almost melts in your mouth & that flavor makes you close your eyes in happiness for just a heavenly moment - I really enjoyed their Oysters "Jackefellar" too. Creamed spinach is also on point along with the garlic mash. Perfect portions & I have to resist the urge to order all the sides simultaneously. I'm fat, but not that fat ...so I tell myself. *sob Porterhouse was amazing. As were all the cuts - of course it's pricey but perfect when you want to spoil yourself. (Or someone else) Loved my glass of Cabernet - a full body that mingles very nicely with a medium rare slice. Great pairing. Service is awesome - efficient, attentive & helpful. I've come here a total of 3 times and while it's more like a once in a while thing, (can't have too much red meat) I look forward to it each time. Bravo for having a steakhouse worth going to in Bayside.

Went 2 years ago and came back for my birthday. I am 64 and love filet mignon. I am horrified by the dinner we ate this evening! The filet was chewy and I couldn't even eat it. The waiter said nothing when he took back an entire filet! Dessert was just as bad .. the chocolate mousse was chunky and disgusting... again waiter said nothing when the dessert wasn't eaten. Do not go here they charge a lot and do not care if you are happy Very

Came for lunch and grabbed burgers which were quite good. Great quality meat in the burger. Service was amazing. I left very satisfied and looking forward to my next visit.

The food and service was excellent. A group of 15 of us went for two birthdays and we had a great time. The crab cake was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. The octopus was good but a bit over cooked. I had the wagyu striploin and 5 cheese Mac. The striploin was perfectly cooked to a medium rare and was tender and juicy. The Mac was okay but a tad bland in my book. The restaurant was packed for a Sunday night but we also had the basement to ourselves due to the large group. The gentleman at the front was so sweet and explained the steaks to some of the guys in our party. Definitely will be back!

It had an oddly fishy taste when it should've been rich and buttery. It also lacked proper seasoning, so we ended up sending it back. For the entree, we ordered the dry aged porterhouse, priced at nearly $200. We asked for medium, but it came out well done, which was a letdown. The chimichurri didn't taste authentic, and while the signature steak sauce was fine, it wasn't anything memorable. We also ordered a side of bacon, which was decent but I've had better. The chili prawn noodles were another miss. It came with only four shrimp, wasn't spicy at all, and used spaghetti noodles, which felt off for the dish. The only real highlights were the creamed spinach and shishito peppers. Those were solid and you just can't go wrong with it. At best, I'd recommend coming here for the cocktails and the view. The food alone doesn't justify it. I added an extra star strictly because of the service. Shirley was excellent. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave great wine recommendations. Very accommodating and genuinely pleasant, which made the experience better overall.

The food is good, plating is great, everything cooked as ordered and came out on time. The steak, bacon, and pasta are all great choices. The place also looks nice and clean. The negatives for me are: you have to be aware of the prices because for some reason, there was an extra dollar added to some items. They fixed it when we pointed it out but it's more about the principle. Also, if you are in Flushing, you do have many great options for more reasonable prices. This is clearly an upscale hotel's restaurant with a nice view, weather permitting but most people in Flushing are not looking for a higher price tag. With that, the portion sizes are more for plating purposes. Good luck with parking, public transit or ride share is sort of necessary to get here. Overall, this is not a bad spot to go to, just a bit mismatched with its current environment. Also, if you do go, find the elevator and take it to the 12th floor to find the entrance. That may not be clear.

FRANK, SERVER 12/10 ATMOSPHERE: 10…read moreFOOD: 10 EASE OF SERVICE: 12/10 There's a reason this restaurant has been open since 1887. We happened to be nearby for a Doctor's appointment and passed here on the way there. When we arrived to the Doctor's office we called for a reservation and were offered 545pm for two(a rare & spontaneous date night). We left the Doctor's office and arrived to P.L. around 520pm. Friendly valet took our car and we entered. We were checked-in and advised to wait in the lounge area where the bar is. Not 5 minutes later we were seated. We received fresh bread(albeit cold not warm) and butter. We were promptly greeted by server Frank, who is very knowledgeable and assisted us with our selections. We decided on the wedge salad, one rib steak, and the crab cake(1) appetizer option, with mushrooms as a side. As our food arrived other tables started to join us in the side room with beautiful stained glass windows. The salad was very fresh and delicious. The crab cake was amazing, just pure crab, not lots of breading as filler. AMAZING!!!! A MUST-TRY!!!! We ordered the steak medium and it arrived perfectly pink in the center and hot off a hot plate with sizzling butter. CHEFS KISS!!! The mushrooms were whole and flavorful. Frank visited our table after each course to see if everything was fine and if we needed anything. Only experienced, tenured servers do this and even as he gained more tables to service he remained close by and available. I love that!!!! My husband wanted coffee so we ordered the apple strudel at Frank's recommendation and I'm so glad we did. It tasted like an old school recipe, maybe from the 1800's (one can hope&dream). It was accompanied by their famous SCHLAG which was divine!!!! If you're on a diet don't let anyone order it at your table because trust me, it'll entrance you, and you'll fold like a stack of cards. It's that amazing!!! Overall I'd give 6 stars if I could. Great place for celebrations like graduations or birthdays but also are welcomed just for a nice date night to enjoy their food and time with your spouse. FRANK suggested we return to try their burger, of which I've heard great things, will have to make it by 4pm, before lunch ends. Can't wait to come back!

This is because the food was overpriced for the quality of dishes served. The bread was room temperature and was obviously purchased from a bakery. I was expecting warm bread, recently baked in an oven--the kind that would instantaneously melt butter smeared with a knife. I had the fried calamari appetizer. The calamari was somewhat rubbery, and it was coated in a tad too much flour. I prefer mine flash fried in a dusting of flour. The calamari did not taste fresh caught, either, and It was served with a side of garlic aioli. My preference is for a side of marinara sauce, which pairs perfectly with calamari. I had the Lobster Il Toscano, which cost $85. It was lobster meat from two, one pound lobsters sautéed out of their shells. The lobster was between firm and mushy. It did not taste fresh caught, like what I get in the summertime for a similar price while dining in any of the seaside restaurants in the Hamptons or Montauk. I also ordered the New Old Fashioned, whose main ingredients are Maker's Mark and Vermouth. I did not like it because I do not like Vermouth. I overlooked that it had Vermouth in it when I was looking at the cocktail menu. My dinner cost me $132 because they put a mandatory $20 mandatory tip on the check. The bill was originally $112. CAVEAT EMPTOR: There is a sign saying that they want CASH TIPS! There is free parking in the lot across the street once the ticket is validated in the restaurant. The restaurant is in a Tudor-style dwelling, and it is big enough for celebrations and events.
