The service was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Maybe she is one of the owners. Mongolian Beef (3.5/5) - the beef was fairly tender and good. There wasn't much spice/kick to it. Fairly, straightforward beef with green onions and yellow onions. Scallion Pancake (4/5) - good, classic crispiness. Xiao Long Bao Dumpling (3/5) - Please allow 12-15 min for this if you didn't know. Meaty, but it didn't have any soup in the dumpling. Sad face. Pan Fried Pork Buns (3/5) - like steamed white Buns. I wish the bottom was a bit more crispy or crunchy. Otherwise, it was still good. Pork Won Ton in Chicken Broth (3/5). My wife enjoyed this. But she thought the won ton wrapper was a bit thick. Custard Buns (4/5) - creamy sweet inside. I liked this. Tsingtao Beer - My friend said, "They know how to serve a nice cold beer" I'd come back to try some of their other dishes like the noodle soups, or dry pots, etc. Overall, 3.5 stars rounding up for service and all they offer on their menu. read more

I was in Glendale visiting my mom and we got hungry, and while googling nearby restaurants...suddenly we discovered Uncle Panda! We went on a Sunday afternoon and there was no wait, but it was still busy enough. We sat down and our order was taken quickly. It also didn't take long before our food arrived at the table. We ordered the beef and green onion dumplings -- it comes with 8, but mom already grabbed one by the time I got my phone ready for a picture. We were hungry! They were clearly handmade and absolutely delicious. It takes a bit longer for the dumplings to be made, but so worth it as these are definitely not the typical frozen dumplings dumped in a fryer. We also had Dan Dan Noodles which were amazing in texture and just mildly spicy, plus the cucumbers in garlic sauce. The cool freshness of the cucumbers and the warmth of the noodles were a great contrast. Overall, we absolutely have plans to come back again! With lots of wood and a little subway tile, it gives off more "steak house" or "beer hall" vibes. Still, it was a cool, relaxed atmosphere. Expect to be seated immediately. While they may take your order right away, some items ... such as Xiao Long Bao ... take time to prepare. That's just the cost of freshly made dumplings. You can pass the time watching one of two (muted) TVs or listening to the (Western, not Eastern) pop music piped through speakers. The Scallion Pancake was served super hot. It obviously went from pan to plate to table in a hurry. The thin and crispy dough was just right, but lacked scallion flavor. The Steam Pork Soup Buns (Xiao Long Bao) were also served hot. They had large chunks of pork, though surprisingly little soup. Dan Dan Noodles were served in about a minute, so they may have been pre-cooked. The star of the show was the Pork and Shrimp Shumai. They were carefully pinched and artfully assembled to resemble a flower. Uncle Panda Dumpling and Noodle House is missing one thing: a location in Central Phoenix. I didn't have a good experience with them when they first opened. We decided to give it another try after so many months, and to my surprise, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The filling was a little too mushy for my liking but it was flavorful. The Won Ton soup was delicious and the broth tasted really good. We added chili and soy sauce and the bowl was pretty big! We shared it and yet we still did not finish all the broth. The XiaoLongBao's weren't that great. They lacked flavor and even after dipping them in the sauce and chili, they still weren't all that. Not having a Din Tai Fung in Phoenix yet, this is our go-to place for dumplings and they have more variety than DTF so we won't stop coming here! Service is friendly and efficient and they bring items out as they're cooked, so it's great if you have hungry kids and need to get them started on food. Their Xiao Long Bao have thicker skins so they're not my favorite, but the other dumplings and steamed buns we tried have been excellent. My kids DEVOUR the leftovers anytime we bring them home. The restaurant does a lot of takeout, and it's convenient for me to add an order of dumplings at the end of the meal to take home - they are well packed and survive the long drive home. I live in central Phoenix but driving for these dumplings is fully worth it! read more

We came back and ordered to-go this time. New items ordered for this visit were the Chinese beef wrap and dan dan noodles. We called ahead and it was ready to be picked up a little bit faster than the quoted timeframe. We did check our order outside to make sure it was all there and it was and was also neatly packed. I would definitely order for to-go again after this experience. The beef wrap is my new favorite thing, hands down. Who doesn't love a crunching outside wrap and tender beef inside? My only complaint for this was that I got 3 sizeable inedible pieces of beef. Otherwise, the remaining beef was very tender and flavorful. Sadly, the dan dan noodles I would not order again. I LOVE the fresh, hand pulled noodles and the pork and peanut crumble. What I could not stand was the chili oil. It was so acidic with a slight lemon aftertaste and it left an unpleasant sensation on my tongue that is hard to describe. It was not spicy at all either and I was surprised as I was expecting an in-your-face spiciness. I never had dan dan noodles before this but I can't imagine this to be normal for the dish. After great difficulty in finishing this, I am going to avoid ordering anything else that uses chili oil. We also got the pan-fried egg, shrimp, and chive dumplings and the xiao long bao (soup dumplings). We did order this pan-fried dumpling on our first visit but was given the wrong one (pork and shrimp). This time was correct lol. The xiao long baos still had soup broth inside for this order and both items were delicious. I still don't understand how some folks are not getting the soup broth inside of their xiao long baos and it makes me wonder if they are poking holes into it and the broth empties out before they can eat it? Or if they sit for too long, the broth does eventually seep out as the dough is soft and not meant to hold liquids for long. I suppose it can also be kitchen error when they are making them but I find it hard to believe that this is messed up so frequently as this is the main selling point of the item. I just popped in by myself and was hoping to get a quick bite to eat, so I didn't get a huge spread. They are still adjusting the music volume, and they came by my table to check with me if it was too loud or not. I've literally never been to a place that cared about that. If you've never had soup dumplings aka xiao long bao, you need to have them here. I was so excited that this place is on my side of town. I had the pork belly buns, you get 3 per order. Unless you have a tiny appetite, it's definitely better to go with your actual meal or as an appetizer. The buns are soft, a great base to the pork belly. The pork belly tasted like it was braised with 5 spice powder but it's not overwhelming. The dish is sprinkled with crushed peanuts, a bit of cilantro and does have pickled veggies. I'm glad it wasn't covered in sauce so you can eat it without getting super messy. With these buns, you get a little bit of sweetness, saltiness, tanginess. It's crunchy and soft and has a good pork-to-bun ratio. The xiao long bao was very good. The soup had depth, the dipping sauce added additional umami. They have chili oil right on the table so you don't have to ask for it. The wrapper on the dumpling was a good thickness and had a good chew to it. You get 6 per order. The pork filling is flavored nicely, it's not just a one-note kind of filling. It seemed like a hug in a dumpling. This is the type of place you want to go for Asian comfort food. Yasss. They do close for a bit in the middle of the day, from 3-4:30. All in all, I had a lovely experience, service was super friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back. Delicious! I was wanting some bao for a long time so saw this near my old part of town. The menu is extensive and has authentic dishes along with familiar American Chinese dishes. We got the bulgogi (tasty), pork wontons in chili sauce (super good), orange chicken (good choice for more picky eaters but not spicy at all), and pork steak dumplings (the best out of the 4!) Given the number of tables and capacity, they could use double the number of current staff. We saw about 5 groups of people give up and leave while we were there, so bring your patience. Food was excellent except for couple of things. The green beans, pancake with chives and egg, XLB, and beef noodle soup were all excellent. Fresh and well seasoned. The broth of beef noodle soup was delicious too. Wish they used bokchoy for more than a garnish though. The fried pork bun was bland and braised pork rice was not good. Everything else was excellent. Honestly, for Glendale, this place is pretty dang great. This is on par with the quality of dumplings you can get in Mesa and Tempe, so I officially Stan. The beef wrap reminded me of American sized items I ate in Beijing, so it's worth it. I had the PORK BELLY BUNS (PORK GUA BAO) and the CHINESE BEEF WRAP and both were great. I DO wish it was an option to get additional sauce on the side for both dishes but both dishes were tasty independent of my sauce proclivities. I was excited to hear a new Chinese restaurant was opening in the West Valley and was eager to try. I am a huge fan of noodles and dumplings so this is right up my alley. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was crowded. We arrived just in time and got a table before a herd of customers started lining up inside the restaurant. I ordered the following: House Chow Mein: smooth noodles with a variety of meats/seafood, flavors were on point, my favorite dish overall. Steam Pork Soup Buns (Xiao Long Bao): juicy filling but the outer skin should be thinner, very pricey for six baos. Braised Beef Noodle Soup: enjoyed the soft noodles, broth was a bit salty, needed more vegetables for better presentation. Scallion Pancake: perfectly golden brown with a nice flaky crust. Pork Wonton in Chili Sauce: couldn't taste much of the pork because the wonton wrapper was too thick, uneven ratio between wrapper and filling. They are still in early stages of opening so it can get hectic getting orders out in a timely manner. You could tell they are understaffed but I appreciate the ladies hustling and still serving with a smile.
