    Orange Chicken

Takeout only: when we walked in, we were humbled with a friendly, welcoming greeting. Family-business all the way, with delicious smells that made the mouth water. The whole family was at work, and the owner was kind and caring to his customers. I can't wait to try the food. The smells are amazing, AND he threw in Crab Rangoon for us to try, which were absolutely yummy.

Crispy, sweet, savory and fresh. Don't come here expecting Panda Express flavors, come here to experience real Chinese cooking. Portions sizes are great and prices are very reasonable.

    LARGE Kung Po Chicken

Solid fried rice, but Wow..... a picture is worth 1000 words they say, I'll let it do most of the talking. I will not be back. I expressed genuine excitement to the man at the front about trying this food having just moved here to AZ and to be met with this is a disgrace. This so called "kung po chicken" is nothing but a bag of frozen microwaved vegetables with a FEW BITS of bland chicken. Unfortunately, I could never in good faith suggest this place to someone nor will I return again. Everything you see in the photo is going straight to the trash the entire LARGE Kung po chicken order. Completely disappointed.

    Lo Mein Noodle

Service was great but food was okay. No veggies in fried rice or noodles and kung pao needed more flavor.

If you're looking for a hidden gem in Phoenix, look no further than Kim's! Tucked away in an unassuming spot, this place will surprise you with incredible food and authentic flavors. It's take out only, so when you walk in, you are greeted directly from the kitchen, pretty cool. The no-frills atmosphere makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a local secret. The menu has all of the classics you'd expect, but what really sets this place apart is the quality and authenticity of the ingredients. Service is fast from the time I called to when I picked up. Of course Eddie, the owner, was friendly and attentive, even though the place was busy. Portions are generous, and the prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality you get. If you're in the mood for delicious Chinese food in a relaxed, unpretentious setting, this is your new favorite spot. Kim's might be a small place, but it delivers big-time on flavor. Definitely a must-try if you're within driving distance. Good Chinese food is hard to come by in this town!

    Real egg foo young
    The D.

I agree with some of the older reviews the egg foo young is the best in the Central Phoenix area. It's real with all of the ingredients inside of it and I always ask for bean sprouts and they accommodate that request as well. I have never had any issues with the food being bland or flavorless in any way but I understand you can't please everyone but I'm here to stay I love the food here....

Their food is consistently the same no matter how busy it is, most recently during a heavy dinner hour - prime time. Yes, expect to wait, we started the 30 plus wait time out side and then inside in the small waiting area. It's not fancy by any means. TVs with a game on, servers moving about, and a steady stream of to go orders. We had King Pao Chicken, Beef with broccoli and Mongolian Beef. Also Wongs fried rice & appetizer plate and soups. I had hot & sour soup, absolutely delicious, a little spicy as it should be. My Mongolian Beef was probably the best prepared, very tender beef and flavorful I've had, and always consistently the same each visit. The other entrees severed were equally flavorful, tender meats and served fresh & hot. Servers are kind and knowledgeable of each dish and offer suggestions of their favorites. Every dish was prepared beautifully and packed with flavor, but the lobster was truly divine. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and infused with the aromatic flavors of fresh ginger and green onions, it was one of those dishes that leaves a lasting impression long after the meal is over. The beef and shrimp lo mein were equally delicious, with rich savory flavors and generous portions, while the walnut shrimp was perfectly crisp with a delicate sweetness that balanced the dish beautifully. It's probably the fanciest Chinese restaurant I've been to in AZ. The lunch menu is excellent and quite impressive! There are 8 entrees to choose along with a side for only $20. What's crazy is that a full size seafood and wagyu beef belly jjampong is a side! They're regularly $24 so it's a crazy deal to get an additional entree!! We ordered seafood jjampong and wagyu beef jjampong as sides and genghis khan beef and chili garlic fried chicken as mains. The jjampong had that great umami taste without the oiliness that's unavoidable at other restaurants. The ingredients felt very premium and fresh. Ghengis khan beef pieces were very generous and tender with a savory sauce. Chili garlic chicken was a tad salty for me but had great crisp. To be clear, I am a New Yorker and know good fast Chinese food. The ambiance was promising. It looked like I was finally going to find what I've been looking for in Phoenix for years. For whatever reason, Chinese restaurants in Arizona serve egg hockey pucks and cover it with various items and call it egg foo young. I even asked about it before I ordered it. Alas when I got home and saw what I had, I was disappointed. It's faster to make it this way but the egg hockey puck had no taste - zero. They could have at least added oyster sauce, a little soy sauce, maybe nam plah, and perhaps sesame oil. It was tasteless. A complete miss. I also ordered something simple, shrimp spring rolls. They were delicious! I inhaled them and will order them again. I'd go again just for the spring rolls. Maybe they have other dishes that are good and I may not entirely give up but the egg foo young is a no go.

Gotta support local when you can I say! The menu is pretty basic and has all your typical options for Americanized Chinese food. Wanting to get something that had noodles in it, I opted for the combination #1 which has chow mein crispy noodles, pork fried rice, and two tempura shrimp. Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to.
