We came here for breakfast on Saturday morning around 9:45 am. The place inside was full and we were offered 2 seats at the counter which we declined. Instead we sat outside, it was a nice 68° and sunny. I love the sun. It was perfect. Immediately we were brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. Coffee was the choice for both of us. 2 nice cups of hot coffee. All needed (sugar, sweatneners, creamers) were on the table. Within a few minutes, our ordered were taken. I got egg whites, turkey sausage, hash browns and wheat toast. He got a steak skillet with potatoes, cheese, eggs and obviously steak with a biscuit and sausage gravy over it. Time flew because we didn't even notice, our cups of coffee kept being filled which was wonderful. So much food, we both couldn't finish our meals. It was great! Everything was. The only bad thing I do have to say was that the ice water they gave us had a metal taste to it. We sent it back but it was the same. The best part was that it was only $27 + a $5 tip and all that kept us full till dinner. Loved the ambiance, it felt cozy. We will definitely come back. read more

Came here today to have lunch since it used to be one of my favorite places, but after today I'm not sure. We have brought our dog here on many occasions before to eat with us on the patio. Today we brought the same dog, who was a tad overly excited to be out since we were gone all morning, and the server told me dogs were not allowed there. And that only service animals are allowed if they don't bark (my dog is a service animal by the way) Mind you my dog only barked because he was excited to see my dad and at the time we were not even close to the restaurant. I had walked the dog on the patch of grass near the street/sidewalk. Not to mention we are trying to take him out to socialize him so he doesn't continue this behavior in the future. So because my family had already sat down I decided to take my pup home. Came back to meet my family and another table was leaving and they had a dog. Seeing this I was furious! This visit has really left a bad taste in my mouth. If you don't want dogs at your establishment, then that should be a blanket statement and no dogs should be allowed. Ain't what she used to be.. this place used to be awesome.. we used to come everyday in 2012/2013 sometimes even twice a day.. then there was a kitchen fire that closed them down for almost a year, and it never was quite the same after that.. although we did come back after the fire a lot, we stopped going after a while.. I took my new girlfriend there to try it out in 2021 the quality was not the same. I always used to get the mushroom Swiss cheeseburger. It was one of the best out there.. decided to give uncle Pete's another try today boy was that a mistake. I walked in, and no one acknowledged me then finally the lady said for one.? I said yes they seated me and I proceeded to sit for seven minutes without anyone coming. Finally, the dude came over and took my drink order that took another 5 to 7 minutes when he brought the drink back I was ready to order. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with avocado that I always used to get.. the burger came out surprisingly fast, but it was not that great. It was dripping with thousand island you need a lot of napkins. They forgot to put the avocado on that I ordered and the Mac salad was just bland and didn't taste good at all.. bummer.. what used to be a great spot is no longer.. So I was driving back from seeing a friend when I seen Pete's. I love little Cafe seating. Any way I decided to grab a omelet. The waitress ( who was awesome and handling the Cafe all alone) took care of business and brought me my food out. That's when the experience went south. Omelet was burnt with some feta thrown on top. Potatoes where undercooked. And what's with the fruit if your product is good you don't need stuff like that Chef. Every neighborhood should be lucky enough to have a good old fashioned country kitchen cafe like Uncle Pete's in Westminster. It's like stepping into small town USA with its friendly easy going atmosphere and charming ambiance seldom seen in today's cafes. We've been to Uncle Pete's off and on for at least 10 years. The owner (whose name is not Pete) Tom is there most of the time and almost always stops by your table and asks how your food is. Traditional American, Mexican, Italian and Greek dishes are served with daily specials. The food is homemade and consistently good. Today, my wife ordered a turkey sandwich with delicious fried zucchini. My daughter had a wonderful turkey croissant. I went with the classic bacon cheeseburger with the best lightly breaded fantastic onion rings I ever had. We all enjoyed our fresh tasty choices! There's something to satisfy everybody, B,L or D. Sometimes I just want no frills dining..... just jump in my car, drive 5 min down the street, and eat some comfort food. Uncle Pete's is a great place to do just that. When you walk in the door you feel like you've walked thru a portal. The other side of that portal is a diner in Laughlin. You've got Keno... er I mean "Hot Spot" playing on the TV's with the cards to fill out on the table, lottery scratcher dispensing machine, old run down booths and tables, waitresses who you can tell have worked their 1/2 their life, patrons who look like they just came back from the monster truck rally, and most of the menu in the $5 to $7 range. All that is missing is a layer of cigarette smoke floating along the ceiling to complete the picture. That said, this place is super friendly. The owner Tom pretty much knows everybody in the place. You'll hug the ladies and chat with the customers. Most of the customers seem to know each other too. Even Donna and I have run into our neighbors here. The food here is super cheap and in my opinion good diner food. Last night I had the $7 sloppy joe special. This came with soup or salad, sloppy joe with fries, onion rings, macaroni salad, or coleslaw, and a piece of "pumpkin cake"! I thought the sloppy joe was really good. They toasted the bun and the joe mix had onions, bell peppers, ground beef, and a tasty sauce. A real throwback to my childhood. Much better than the stuff my mom made out of a can. I had a salad with blue cheese dressing which was good and the macaroni salad which was your standard deli style. Pumpkin cake was basically a pumpkin pie filling with a crumbly crust. My wife had the grilled cheese with bacon and onion rings! I'm sure this is low on weight watcher points. I took a bite and it was very good. I've had the grilled cheese with ham here which I really enjoy. This sandwich was $6 bucks. This isn't the best place in the world, but I enjoy it way more than let's say Denny's. Our total bill was $15 bucks and it was well worth it. Sometimes the service is a bit slow when it's crowded, but I've always had very friendly service. They really get to know you here and it has small neighborhood feel to it. What's strange is this place has a budweiser, coors, and Pabst's feel to it... yet they serve Soju. I can't imagine any of the people I saw in this place know what soju is let alone order it. read more

It cames with a slice of cantaloupe too. Every was good besides the biscuits and gravy...gravy left a funny aftertaste and feeling on the roof of my mouth. Biscuits were too thick tasting? Rib Eye Steak & Eggs w/ White Toast ($11): also comes with 2 eggs cooked how you like it, hash browns or country potatoes, toast or english muffin or biscuits and gravy. BF also got his eggs sunny side up, hash browns, but with white toast. He said the steak had too much fat, but I loved it! So all the fat pieces for me! It was a really cute tiny place! I didn't know what to expect, but when we went in, the waitresses were so friendly. There was a nice homey feel to it, but it's also pretty spacious. I could tell there were a lot of regulars at this place and I'm pretty sure I know why! The food was great. I got the gyro plate chicken. I've never tried Greek food so I'm not sure if it's considered extremelyy good. But all in all, the food was very appetizing and the portions were big. I'd say that it's a great place to go and eat on a date or just talk, but not for big groups of people. I loved it and I'll probably go more often! read more

How do I give six stars?? I just had to drive the 20 miles to get here to see what all the hype is about. Every five star rating is true. Came out piping hot (all dishes were piping hot!) and delicious. Just the right amount of breading. I didn't see any clans in the clam chowder but the flavor was there. Delicious and s large bowl; not some chinsy little cup like most places serve when included in the meal. I ordered the chicken fried steak with mash and veg. I was a little leary ordering the mash because when I asked he said they fresh made once every day. Big red flag but ordered them anyway. They tasted like they just made for my order. White gravy was flavorful and not pasty although it looked like it might have been. As for the veg, they were jut prefrozen mixed veggies. Nothing special. The dinner also came with dessert but I never saw it cause the server offered to box it up for me along with half my dinner. Tom, the owner came by and commented on how much food I ordered. I told him it was intentional for a Yelp review. Before I told him that it it was an experimental review, he comped the zucchini. He didn't know it was for yelp. Would I come back? HELL YES I WOULD!! I haven't been going since I started my diet earlier this year but when I do have a cheat day, I find myself calling up this place to put in my to go order so I can walk over there from work to grab lunch. Though there has been much time passed between us, I can't help but acknowledge that the staff here makes you really feel at home, welcomed. I don't frequent all that much but the owner gave a reaffirming hello and the waitress even called me by name. So far the best traditional American food I've ever tried around Westminster. Usually, I'm not a fan of steak because it is hard to chew and swallow but their Rip eye steak was so soft and tasty. My jaw didn't hurt at all. Their healthy breakfast with rip-eye steak was so healthy and had good portion. It came with light seasoned scrambled egg, cottage cheese, and English muffin. I love Uncle Pete's: it's an independent, honest-to-goodness café like in the old days. The food is not five stars, but it's certainly better than, say, Denny's or Norm's, and it's plentiful, with lots of choices, from breakfast all day to "blue-plate-specials" at dinner. Try the breakfast burrito (add gravy inside) with a side of homemade pico de gallo, or the kabobs if you're in the mood for something meatier. When our son was growing up, our family came to Uncle Pete's several times a week (or more). The owner, Tom Pappodopolous (sp?), and the staff became like family to us. I absolutely love this place! It is located in the corner of a little plaza near the Westminster court and library/ city hall. The service is fantastic! I've dined in once and every other time has been take-out. They are pretty quick with service compared to other breakfast joints. I've gotten the steak skillet twice. It is such a large portion and it is so fresh and tastes. Tons of loaded potatoes and meat and avocado it is so good!! Today I ordered the corn beef hash with two ranch eggs done over and easy along with biscuit and gravy. It was not to my liking unfortunately. The biscuit and gravy was very dry and almost clay like. Almost like it did not sit in the microwave long enough. It tasted pretty crappy. I love my biscuit and gravy but neither the biscuit or the gravy worked out this time. I've had better from previous visits so I know this was not up to normal standards. The corned beef hash tasted can-y. It tasted like it was scooped out of a can and threw together. Very oily and tasted so bland. This was a terrible choice. I really regretted this option. I initially came in this morning wanting to get the eggs Benedict with hash browns but was informed it is a Wednesday and Sunday special only. Ughhh unlucky me lol. My wife and I have been enjoying this restaurant for about six months now, mostly for breakfast but they serve a great lunch and dinner as well, we have taken family and friends and we all agree, the food is great and served exactly how you ask for it, service is top of the line fast and friendly, the restaurant is very clean from the entry to the bathroom, we visit Uncle Pete's 4 to 6 times a month and we have never had a bad experience. They have lotto and lotto scratchers so you can play hotspot and scratch lotto tickets if you wish, there are several TVs so you can catch up on news sports etc. My wife and I highly recommend as I'm sure you will as well. I've been living in the area for about 20 years and have always drove by but never actually stopped in. Today finally decided to give Uncle Pete's a try. It was pretty busy but we were seating right away. Nice little cozy place with a warm feel. Definitely an older crowd, saw many senior citizens but it didn't really make me feel uncomfortable being there or anything. The food was good quality and fresh. We ordered the Denver Croissant and the Eggs Benedict, both tasted good and under $10 dollars. The service was good and attentive as well. I will be coming back for sure read more
