Blood Orange Mimosas
Jennifer T.

Brunch time was amazing! There was a very friendly welcome from the staff immediately upon walking in the door - a huge plus for me! The restaurant is beautiful, comfortable and so elegantly styled, we felt very "fancy" being there - lol! Now the food and mimosas...both were fabulous! Yes, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Basque Breakfast is a must-order. Unique and delicious.

My husband and I went to brunch at Under the Cork Tree as part of a press trip to Sandy Springs. [gifted experience, but thoughts are my own] Staff was super friendly when we arrived, and seated us on their cute patio. Located in a strip mall location, you might be surprised by the charm. It feels like a quiet escape from the nearby highway. They offer brunch cocktails and a large menu of everything from charcuterie to greek donuts to the Basque breakfast. Look, you might be thinking: Fish for breakfast?! Just order it. It's savory and delicious. Of course, to satisfy your sweet tooth, get the Greek donuts. They bake their breads in house and these are perfectly crispy and puffy. Honestly, just incredible. Definitely a great brunch experience in Sandy Springs!

I wasn't expecting to eat a light dinner as I was at an event hosted there. However a few of us decided as I had eaten there a long time ago and remember it being great. I was right. Our server Sara was delightful and on point. She gave us an amuse bouche of olive, cheese, and chorizo. I had the butternut squash soup which was rich and creamy with a tinge of sweet. Speaking of sweet I of course had to end with dessert that was the blueberry cheesecake - nom nom. It was such a generous piece that I had to take it home.

The new menu is quite the adjustment to take in. A lot more options, but I miss the previous offerings. Fish of the Day and the crispy lamb lollies/ribs tapas are gone and they're missed!!! I'd have to say the prices and options match more of an entree style dinner and less fun bites to explore with traditional tapas. The one addition that I really enjoyed was the grilled cheese and the salad. It was some type of walnut apple salad, the salad was average the grilled cheese was scrumptious. Certain price hikes like $11 for a small plate of potatoes is a no go for me. It's worth a return, but Eclipse di Luna has them beat on ambiance and tapas options. They never made the bar more inviting after all these years, but can't miss what was never there.

I love a restaurant that actually reads the reservations comments and goes out of their way to make your experience an outstanding one. That's exactly what the team at Under The Cork Tree did for my friend's birthday making it that much more special. Upon her arrival, the manager came over and personally greeted her, wished her a happy birthday and thanked her for choosing to celebrate at their establishment. That was pretty much how the rest of the dining experience went...Attentive service which we appreciated. Special shout out to Marco who took great care of us that evening! Must haves: Mini Grilled Cheese & Apple Salad, Brussel Sprouts, Tagliatelle Bolognese (they ordered as an appetizer and entrée because they thought it was that good), Frutti de Mare Tagliatelle Arrabbiata, Bone in Ribeye (for the red meat lovers and it can easily feed 3-4).

We had a dinner reservation for a party of 8 at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, 8/30/22. There is a free parking lot, but I would get there a bit early to give yourself enough time to find a spot during busy times. Overall, we liked what we got. We stuck with vegetarian dishes. We got Walnut Salad, Caprese Salad, Fig & Farmer's Cheese, Fire Roasted Ratatouille, Spicy Broccolini, Truffle Cacio e Pepe, Crispy Artichokes, and Patatas Bravas. The Walnut Salad was the star of the show. Soooo good. The Truffle Cacio e Pepe was disappointing with not that much flavor. The Fire Roasted Ratatouille was just not that good. Oily, could've used bread. The Patatas Bravas weren't the best I've had. We also got dessert and we were really impressed! The Warm Date Cake was a delight! We were very pleasantly surprised. It looks like it's chocolate, but it wasn't! The Spanish Almond Cake was also really good. The Basque Cheesecake was fine, but the other two were better. Good food, but not the best tapas I've had in Atlanta. Cool atmosphere. Good for a date or for a group of friends.

We booked their awesome private dining room for our party of 14 as a Christmas gift for the family. They recently changed the menu to a new format and it was great! The butternut squash risotto with salmon was delicious. We loved the ambiance of the space and would highly recommend to anyone seeking private dining in Sandy Springs.

Work related dinner experience was amazing! Host & servers were equally welcoming. We started with charcuterie boards (pic not provided) great options! Appetizing food display. Scallops were really good! Mediterranean style salad (pic not provided) was delicious. The dessert had different textures but overall filled my sweet tooth.

We went for brunch on Mother's Day. They were serving their regular menu and we had the brunch items. My kids shared the French toast which was perfect for them. We almost offered 2 separate plates but luckily the server said that it's big enough for them to share. They each had a piece of French toast. The Shakshuka was amazing and the bread that came on the side for dipping was delicious. My husband was jealous of my order because it was the best! The place is not as big as I thought but it's still really pretty inside. It wasn't too loud either. They do have street lot but if there's no room there's a parking deck. Overall it was great!

Cocktails were awesome

Food was amazing and so was the service. Great birthday dinner spot. The ambiance is a little moody which is nice. I would definitely go back again.

Crispy Artichokes

The food and cocktail I had was superb but it was the fantastic service I really want to applaud them for. From the first greeting when you walk in, to the manager making pleasant conversation, to a rockstar server great with recommendations. This is the kind of service that used to be standard but is now a dying art. Kudos to them for that. Will be back again and again. My highlights were the octopus and the crispy artichokes. But just try everything.

Calamari

Under the Cork Tree's patio created an excellent environment for our gathering. There were ten of us, and since they did not have tables for large groups or have a table that could be moved together, we separated, so ladies were at one table and men at the other. The heaters kept us warm on the chilly fall night. Each table ordered family style so we could enjoy more food. When eating tapas, I prefer to stay with two plates per person and then add if needed. We ordered the perfect amount of food as we barely had a bite of anything left. There were four of us who shared the beet salad, broccolini, meatballs, calamari, potatoes, fish croquettes and chicken skewers. One of the ladies in our group ordered the cheese sandwich and green salad for herself. My favorite dish was the fish croquettes. It doesn't hurt that I recently had been in the DR and those were my fav food of the trip. They were crispy and lightly breaded with lots of fish and cheese inside. The beets were another favorite dish of the group. I did not have the meatballs, but was told they were good. The Pinot Noir from Oregon was a perfect accompaniment for all the dishes.

Dark Chocolate Tart with Pistachio Ice Cream
Skylar H.

I don't normally go out for tapas, so I'm not too familiar with this style of restaurant, however I throughly enjoyed my experience! Our server was very friendly and explained the dishes to us very well! I ordered the Burrata and Grapefruit ($14), Truffle Cacio e Pepe ($15), and for dessert, the Dark Chocolate Tart that came with Pistachio Ice Cream ($13). I have actually never tried burrata so this was my very first experience. It came with toast, greens and grapefruit jam. I loved this. The tartness of the grapefruit paired so well with the creaminess of their burrata. The truffle Cacio e Pepe was also good, I cleared all of it. It stuck together some and the truffle flavor was not too prominent, but I think it was still tasty. Now....this dessert...... this was like nothing I have ever had before. Not the tart, but the pistachio ice cream that comes with it is life-changing. I have had my fair share of pistachio ice cream however there was something in this one that made it taste like pure luxury. Please get this if you go please. Also, a round of applause for this decor. I felt so cool sitting in there with the warm lighting, classy vibe, and comfy couch seating. My only complaint was that a couple next to us was violently making out for a very long time...but hey who am I to judge.

I had an idea of what this place, but wasn't exactly sure what it all entailed. We walked in and were greeted by a large shelf or should I say shelves of a bunch of different board and card games. We walked to the register and told them we wanted to play some board/card games. I believe it was $7 per hour and then $35 for everything else. Everything else means all the video/electronic games. Think PS5, Switch, PC, Xbox. It was sooooo cool seeing everyone play all the different games. There were bigger groups, couples, people by themselves. It's truly a place where anyone can go and have a good time! We got some drinks (they have a really cool cocktail menu). They do have a food menu too, but we just came from dinner, so we only got drinks. Our service wasn't the best though. It took forever for someone to come and check on us, and no one came to fill our water the entire time we were there. Service could definitely be a lot better! Battle & Brew is in a shopping center, so there is plenty of parking. It's also pretty big too, so there is plenty of seating inside. I would definitely come back here in the future and play some of the video games, as I love to play some Nintendo Switch!

Our visit was on May 16th, 2026. We had large group, which when we called ahead (4 hours ahead of…read moretime) they said that they couldn't take reservations. They told us that we would have to show up and just wait to be seated... fine. No big deal, again we are a large group coming in HOT on the weekend... I get it. We call ahead again, closer to the time we were planning to arrive to double check. THIS TIME they said they could reserve us a space and that it wouldn't be a problem. We get there and everything is seemingly fine. The vibes are good and the waiters are taking orders diligently. We understand that this is a huge group (16 of us) and that we would have to be patient with them as they are with us. So everyone puts in there orders. First wave comes out... I noticed that all the food is cold. Not ideal but the food was good so whatever. Second wave comes out, again the food is cold and peoples orders are missing. Fine. We are a big group, it happens. 3rd wave comes and they are seemingly trying to land the plane with us, finalizing anything that may have been missed while also getting refills. One of my friends that was a part of that first wave was still waiting his burger that he ordered (he had informed them twice at this point). 45 mins later the waiter checks on us again... My friend still doesn't have his burger. Cool AGAIN this is a big group... It happens. My side of the table who got all their food are ready to play some games now. We go to the front counter and there is seemingly a good cop/bad cop routine going on. One host says we can rent a station the other says we can't unless all 16 of go to that station. I told him not everyone wants to play games so what if we just cash out now then the 4 of us that do can just play/sit at the station. "YOU CAN'T DO THAT ITS AGAINST THE POLICIES" O....kay... whatever don't take my money, I then tell him I'd like to cash out anyway. "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" I can't pay you now? "THE TAB CAN ONLY BE SPLIT 5 WAYS" Huh? So not only was this not brought to our attention beforehand but you want to be a jerk about it? There reason was because some people run out on the bill and things get missed. Meanwhile the entire table is sitting here with their cards out ready to pay you? Not to mention if something is missed thats on YOU as you are the person entering the stuff into the system. Mind you we still have folks that were missing food or order was taken only for it to be sitting under a heat lamp. After some back and forth we paid (which they REFUSED to give us an itemized receipt) only for a smug waiter to come out with the missing deserts with creepy smile to literally say to us "I hope you enjoy it..." Nope. Not eating that. Matter fact we will never eat here again. This has been a yearly tradition for some Dreamhack attendees and I can wholeheartedly say that I'll NEVER step foot in here again more will anyone I associate with. If I could give it a 0 I would.

My wife and I explained that no we walked in well within the remaining minutes of lunch, and that there were a few lunch items only offered during lunchtime that we wanted to take advantage of. Remember, if she would've come to greet us right away instead of being on her phone there would not have been an issue. Plus there was literally no one seated outside except for us! No excuse for this type of service. Plus I'm shocked that management didn't accommodate a first timer to your establishment being it was the server's fault. Amazing how these kind of restaurants forget there are soooooo many great options in this city! No one is going to put up with this type of nonsense. Funny how they forget who's the paying customer, and get arrogant instead of being flexible within reason to a great customer experience. Wasn't asking for anything extra just to honor walking in during lunch time to order lunch! If that's too much to ask then hello and goodbye and that's why we got up and left! This place won't be around long! Ridiculous! Word of mouth is everything in the restaurant business Kid Cashew!

Coming into it, around early dinner time hour, it was fair to say a slow evening for a Saturday. This provided us a fair chance to be able to not feel rushed during this experience. Server and food runners were on point. Server knew the menu and what to suggest as popular meals and what his favorites were. He also informed us that food was made from scratch and the ribs were already sold out! Bummer as that would've been a go to choice! The restaurant it self seemed cleaned and a sleek look to it. We chose 2 fried chicken meals and steak and frite. These dishes were to brag about 100%, wish I could've met the head chef and supervisor on shift to let them how wonderful the food was and that the staff have great personality and professional! This chicken meals were beyond what could've fool me as a homemade chicken made by someone's grandma! The steak was cooked to perfection that could've melted in your mouth. The atmosphere felt like a casual new age, better, slightly more upscale and elegant version of Applebees, if that makes sense. Homey vibe but elegantly casual? Off rip I ordered a sweet tea which was phenomenal. It tasted like it has a slight peach undertone to it, and it was the right amount of sweet. I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp as my appetizer and the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and brussels (I dont like coleslaw). I was told the bacon wrapped shrimp was a new menu item. For $19? They were cool. The fried chicken was really good. It was still steaming hot inside, when I took my first bite. The chicken was tender and had a good crunch to it. The brussels were okay. I typically like a more sweet glaze on my brussels but they did the job. I liked the mashed potatos, they were a little runny; the gravy made up for that though. I'm not a biscuit person but the biscuit that came with this meal was very soft, fluffy, moist, and had butter throughout. It was a bummer the only choices of hot sauce available were Tabasco and Cholula. I usually like Texas Pete, Crystal, or Louisiana hot sauce in my chicken. I WILL say, the monkey bread was SOOOOO good. So soft, warm, with apples and vanilla ice cream. If I knew it was this good I would have ordered 2 to go. Ultimately everything my was good, I had a great experience, and lots of leftovers.

Once we noticed that the female servers were crumbing the tables, clearing empty plates, filling water glasses, all without prompting, checked back on food served, and offering hot towels at the end of their party tables, etc. it diminished the mostly tasty meal that we had consumed. Even the maitre'd who delivered the food did not pick up empty plates without prompting or seem to notice how dirty the tablecloth was from the bread crumbs. Fresh oysters from MA were small and tasty Truffle fries were good Cesar salad with house made croutons and extra anchovies made it tastier Branzino was good- veggies were not properly cooked- were tough. Smashed potatoes were good Server knew that dairy free was important and did not point out that there was sorbet on the dessert menu. Server was basically very pleasant but untrained and lazy. We are looking forward to the Atlanta Fish Market next time - it takes pride in service and food excellence.
