Really enjoyed the wild caught bourbon salmon, along with a Greek salad, vegetarian empanadas, and finally a big slice of decadent peanut butter cheesecake. Our server Juliet was charming and helpful. We enjoyed sharing several starters and a salad. Our Cesar broccolini salad was just broccolini- which we didn't realize. It was outstanding- we got it w the salmon which was perfectly crisp on the outside and medium inside per our request. The polenta croutons and excellent touch. We also had their empanada of the day- I'd tell you what it was but you'd just be jealous if it's not available when you go. Leaving this place feeling extremely sad because of how bad the food was. Paid 78 including tip for 2 margs and 2 entrees during happy hour. We were told our Cuban panini couldn't be changed because they were made in the morning and the Dirty Tacos had meat that was impossible to bite through. Both made me sad to eat. I had good expectations for this place but maybe I just ordered the wrong menu items. Truffle fries and Margaritas were good but didn't make up for the entrees not being good. Also, the Halloween decorations in the front make the place look tacky. We should have known from the bad decorations that this would reflect the food quality. We have been huge fans of Under the Moon for the past 10 years. Unfortunately, this location seems to have really dropped off. Dinner started with 5 of us placed at a table of 8 with plates arranged in an order that made absolutely no sense. No place settings given to us. When appetizers came out, we had to ask for place settings, but after 5 minutes, had to just grab them off adjacent tables. Most of the food is still great, some of it even spectacular. The mussels were awesome. So were the veggie empanadas. The "tomato soup" however we were served we are 100% convinced was accidentally filled with their vodka sauce for their Gnocchi dish. My wife even asked me to blindly taste it before I drew the same conclusion as her. Upon being served entrees, again, most things were good. But our $40 ravioli dish was poorly executed. Two giant ravioli were on the dish. Unfortunately, whoever made it probably used multiple sheets of pasta after failing to properly construct the ravioli. The result was an inside of hardened uncooked raw pasta inside. I've had nothing but good experiences prior to this but the list of things just piled up here and it's not a good sign. I'd be happy to continue to visit the Bordentown location as it seems they run a much tighter shift with better menu but between the service and the shortcomings on some of the dishes, I can't justify spending over $200 to be annoying disappointed at this location. read more

We stopped by Under the Moon Cafe during our day trip to Lambertville. We were lucky to get seated right away despite being in the middle of the lunch rush. We started with the duck Mac and cheese and my husband got the shrimp and grits and I got the Cuban. The duck Mac and cheese was good, but there was very little duck in it. My husband loved the chorizo in his dish, but overall too many onions. My Cuban was well done and flavorful with Parmesan truffle fries. Stopped in tonight for drinks and was planning to have dinner at the bar. Got menus right away but it took over 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We'd been by many times and finally decided to try it today. The restaurant operates in part of a Victorian Era home and includes original construction, period decor and wonderfully eclectic serving plates and glasses. We were here on a busy but not particularly hot summer day and there was no wait for two. We had the Truffle Fries for an app then split the Arugula and Brussels Salad with Organic Blackened Chicken and the Gluten Free Blackened Fish Tacos, which featured Swai (also known as Basa) for an Asian flair. Simply put, one of the best meals I've had in recent memory. This place looks small from the outside but has multiple dining rooms. We sat out back in a tented area. Our waitress was very friendly knowledgeable and explained everything about the menu to us. She said the business started as a place to get empanadas. She said the owners used a traditional family recipe. So we had to try them. We got the veggie ones and they were absolutely incredible. Roasted corn, sweet potato, spinach, and more...plus the seasonings used were eye openingly delicious. We decided against the tapas tower of Spanish inspired small plates because the appetizers sounded more appealing to us. We also got the duck confit mac n cheese with cherries served in a mini skillet. The brightness of the cherries was the meaty flavor of the duck with the smooth mac to put it together was one of the best things I've ever eaten. We finished the meal with of course tres leches cake...because hey, when in Rome...er Spain I mean, or Peru. It was perfect. I scraped off the icing because I'm not an icing guy and it was too much and too sweet, but after that it was so silky smooth. I wish it had a bit more fruit garnish and less icing is all. It's the kind of meal that while you're eating you start thinking about who you can bring here to share this place with...and eat there again of course. read more

Nothing could tapas my experience at this restaurant! This restaurant made my trip to Lambertville a star experience. My waitress was very kind and recommended the Roe v. Wade drink, which had a guava flavor. It might have been one of the best drinks I have ever had! For dinner, I had the four tapas meal with patatas bravas, queso fundido, ropa vieja and the steak dish (forgot the name). This is 100% shareable for 2 people as I had a lot to take home. Everything was great and paired well together. For dessert I had the apple crumble cake and I'm literally salivating just thinking about it. I have NEVER had something that good in my entire life. Opened them up and for an order of 8-10 people there were only 8 pieces of meat the size of a quarter of a chicken breast. So....firstly it serves 8 not 10. It's not a serving but half per person. Secondly, The quality of the dish awful, unappetizing and not appealing, swimming in greasy sauce. Next we go to Buffalo chicken bites: at least enough to cover the bottom of the tray, but once again hardly serves 10. Quality: more like chicken nuggets for toddlers, not chunks of meat but processed. Total for both $140. Absolutely will never order or cater again from this place and would consider this a rip off, more infuriating as we counted on this for a party to serve others. Shame on us for not doing our research prior. Would have been better ordering from supermarket or frozen Costco section. read more

We had an amazing lunch here today! We sat outside on the patio which was shaded, but still a bit hot. Our server Eve was energetic and smiling the whole time. We opted for the fried chicken sandwich and Kale salad. Both were spectacular. The sandwich was served on a nice bun with slaw and a side of crispy, delicious truffle fries (batter fried, so probably not GF). Salad was superfresh with lacinto Kale, feta, strawberries and mandarins in a nice dressing. Perfect food for the weather. Bf also got the lemonade which was more of a fruit extravaganza lemonade with watermelon and others...refreshing. We usually don't get dessert, but splurged today...the creme brulee was very good, and the crepe cake was yummy. I opted for the Nutella/strawberry version, although there were a few other choices. We almost grabbed a couple of cocktails at the end, but just a bit too early for those. Great food, and exceptional, happy servers. Our server, Erica was great. The tapas trio was awesome.. we ordered crispy pork belly, and short ribs,,and I forget the other thing but it was all delicious. We had a wedge salad, as well as the maple salmon and stuffed pork chop. For dessert we had the peanut butter cheesecake and tres leeches cake. The trees leches cake was really good,, but the sugar must have crystalized, because I kept biting into pieces of sugar. I love this place so much! It is spacious, well decorated, and has fantastic service. They hosted us for a private room and it was lovely. The food is delicious! The menu is tapas and regular sized plates - Spanish inspired but there was some Asian and American influence as well. The Halloween decorations were awesome and there is also plenty of outdoor seating. I had been wanting to try this restaurant in Bordentown, but my first visit ended up being in Lambertville due to a show I was seeing at the Bucks County Playhouse. The ambience is SO charming. The artistic details on the inside and outside of the building are beautiful. Since I came a few days after Christmas, I got to enjoy their beautiful holiday decorations. Great music playing, friendly service, and eclectic food. The food was all tasty and well-prepared. The prices were typical for the area. Will be back! My mom and I went to New Hope & Lambertville for the day. We were looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled upon Under the Moon from a Google search. I got the chicken sandwich - homemade spicy slaw and pickles. My mom got the special, fish tacos with cod and a red sangria. She said the sangria was light. She always orders a red sangria when we are out to eat and they're a hit or miss. However, this was one of the best sangrias she's ever had. It was fruity and light, the perfect drink for a sunny day. For me, I always order a chicken sandwich if it's on the menu. It's my go-to meal. I loved the chicken sandwich here! It's easily one of the best chicken sandwiches I've had in a long time. For my side, I chose the parmesan truffle fries and they were delicious. I devoured my meal!
