I grew up about 20 minutes north of here, and I can tell you from firsthand experience that Lambertville/New Hope is almost a ghost town on Tuesday when you compare it to their rollicking weekends, and it can be tough to find a decent sit-down meal in the middle of the week. I stopped here with my dad for lunch in the middle of a Stockton-Lambertville-New Hope hike. Gorgeous, gorgeous weather, and we took full advantage of the outdoor seating on the porch. The indoor area looked very cool as well - as mentioned by others, this is a converted ye olde house, and this might be my first restaurant bathroom experience that included a shower. Nice little eccentric touch. We were pretty famished and decided to go with the tapas, specifically flight #2 ($40 for four). Our waitress recommended we also get an app based on the portions, but these were on the larger side and in hindsight the app wasn't needed - we had food left over. That said, the app we did get (the artichoke rice balls) was very good. It was a LITTLE too perfume-y for my taste, I'm guessing from a heavy portion of blue cheese, but overall it was very flavorful. I'd get it again. The best tapas we had was the tortilla espanola. Delicious, and reminded me a bit of a classy macaroni and cheese pie. The Spanish meatballs weren't memorable for me, but they were more for my father anyway. He seemed perfectly content with them. The chorizo was good but honestly a little too sweet for my palate. I'm sure it has its fans, but I like chorizo because of the spice, which was lacking here. And the plantains/ropa vieja were okay - given the portion of beef stew, I think an additional plantain or two should have been included. The plantains balanced out the more tomato-ey stew, so the ropa vieja by itself wasn't quite as good. Given that the tortilla espanola is included on both flight options, I'd go with the cheaper flight next time and order around that. When our waitress realized I was interested in the cocktail menu, she provided the two drink specials for Pridefest, and I went with one of those - a paloma. It tasted excellent; all of the ingredients complemented each other perfectly. The only problem was that the bartender went REALLY heavy on the ice. By the time I had drained the cocktail, there was literally half a cup of ice still in the glass, so you're really only getting half a cocktail based on the surface area, maybe less. Cutting the amount of ice by 50% would go a long way here, especially since the cocktail is so well made that arguably having more ice risks diluting it quickly and negating some of its brilliance. Pretty easy fix in my opinion. We came early in the lunch hour (I'd guess a little after noon) and probably benefited from a sparse crowd, but the service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, helpful and pleasant, which went a long way here and ultimately tipped the scales from okay to very good, especially since some of the tapas were on the mediocre side. I will never return. Myself, my husband, father, and dog were seated on the patio which was lovely. We ordered a couple of appetizers which included the whipped avocado deviled eggs. The eggs were absolutely disgusting. Looking back, I feel like an idiot for eating them. The filling was acidic and tasted fishy. My husband and I were the only ones that ate them. We both ended up sick that night. I'm just happy that my elderly father and my dog didn't try those eggs. Do better. read more

Came here on a whim as a last minute dinner option. They have indoor and outdoor seating, with a bar inside. However, it was during the weekend where there were storms but their staff was very accommodating. We lost power briefly but they brought out some small complimentary appetizers while we waited for the generator to work. Our server was a bit slow and we had to remind him about the bill a few times, and our drinks, but he was nice and we were not in a rush so we didn't mind too much. We ordered fruity mule cocktails, they were delicious! Not too strong, and not too sweet, perfect mix. We also ordered the Duck Mac & Cheese, Chicken Napolitana, Argentinian Style Meatloaf, and the Cavatappi Marinara accompaniment. The food was delicious, and portions were amazing! First time at Under The Moon, for lunch. So very cute, such friendly servers. One of our servers it was her first day and she was delightful. Took an awesome pic of our whole table! We met a friend who loves the place, and she was right on the money! We got an appetizer of avocado deviled eggs, and a potato soup that were both very good. Then for lunch, my sister and I both got the caprese panini sandwich which came with the absolute best fries we have ever had! They were cut into little scoops and seasoned so perfectly with Parmesan and I don't eve know what else, but OMG! Our friend got the fried chicken sandwich which looked amazing!! My dad got the fish tacos and he liked them a lot. Then, we all shared a crepe cake slice, definitely different and a lot of icing. Looks very hard to make. lol. Went here for lunch and loved it. The soup of the day, parsnip, was amazing. Thick and creamy and delicious. The haddock tacos were 3 tacos for $15 very good but on the small side fish wise. All the other food they brought out for the other tables like empanadas, short rib grilled cheese and chocolate mousse looked amazing. The waitress was very nice and gave us extra plates when we said we wanted to share the two things. The ambiance is nice too. Nice little spot that compliments the area well. Came here for brunch and they're very accommodating given the current circumstances with the pandemic. There is indoor seating as well as outdoor ready with heaters and tent wraps to help keep the heat in. The menu is varied and has plenty of selections for breakfast/brunch, lunch and dinner options. For my visit I went with the Huevos Rancheros. Great presentation as it's brought right out on the skillet it presumably was cooked on. Very filling and nicely seasoned. They also have drinks including sangria. The best part about the experience is the service. Frequently checked on and though we had a designated waitress other staff were just as friendly if anything was needed. Checkout is smooth, pay right at the table. Definitely would recommend. I think Under the Moon does a great job and it makes sense as competition in the area is probably stiff. read more

The food was incredibly tasty, but I must emphasize that the bartending staff was simply amazing. Please stop in to experience sitting at the bar. Led by Mitch, thank you so much for one of the best experiences we ever had. Mitch really loves his craft. He asks what spirits you prefer, what flavors you prefer, and will craft drinks not on the menu, as he did for us. Lambertville is such a cute little town! How lucky we were to walk right in and get a table for dinner on a Saturday night!! Sat outside.... weather was perfect. They have heaters on the chilly nights that keeps you comfortable. Ambience is so nice too. There was a 16 year old playing live music who was really good. Wish I got his name because I'm sure that kid is going places! On to the food and drinks! So many great food choices... didn't know where to begin! You can do tapas and order several items. This place is great for small groups so that you can taste a whole bunch for food. I just knew I had to start with one of their mules.. which was delicious! Ordered the Truffle Mac n Cheese, Beef Empanadas (was excited it came with 2!) and the Short Rib noodle bowl. Everything was delicious.. I thought the portions were just enough too! It was a quiet holiday Monday evening and our server, Mitch, took excellent care of us. The teenager ordered the tapas tower, thoroughly enjoying the patatas bravas, the baked goat cheese, and the steak with mashed potatoes. I had the halibut with riced cauliflower and broccoli rabe. Hubby had the shaved Brussels sprouts salad with salmon. Everything was spot-on. The in-house made peanut butter cheesecake was ridiculously good, as was the French toast bread pudding. After passing by so many times and always wanting to try Under the Moon, I made it happen this past weekend. We were walk ins around 6 or so but they had plenty of tables inside. If you've never been or passed by, the outside in pretty incredibly cute. If the weather is good for it (which it definitely wasn't this past weekend with the heatwave we've got going on) I recommend getting a table in their garden-like outdoor set up. I started off with the most summer sounding cocktail I could find on their menu, the pomegranate yuzu collins. Perfectly refreshing, not too sweet and delicious. For dinner the two of us split 2 flights of tapas (4 small plates each) and everything was absolutely incredible! Some of my favorites that you 100% should give a try if you go the tapas route were the mushrooms, bacon wrapped dates (omg if I could have gotten a whole flight of these I would have), the goat cheese with marinara and sauteed onions and the skirt steak. Everything was so delicious and 2 flights for 2 people was a perfect amount of food for me. I left full but not uncomfortable. The inside space was so cozy so inside or outside you can't go wrong. Excellent brunch in a cute, eclectic place with friendly service! My friend and I had a hard time deciding from the huge menu that all sounded great. I ended up getting the veg frittata served with seasoned potatoes. The frittata was fluffy, nicely seasoned and, served hot. My friend's chicken and waffles were so decadent, salty and sweet. The fried chicken was a boneless chicken breast that was perfectly crispy on top of a soft waffle. I got the Botanical Refresher cocktail and it lived up to its name...it was a refreshing blend of citrus and Rose flavors! Must get! read more

The $$ rating on value is incorrect. Value for money is not to be found here and this is by no means a high end dining establishment. We arrived at 715pm on a Saturday with a reservation. Parking was surprisingly easy in a small lot right across the street. We were lucky as the street parking was impossible. The place is an older house with a nice long bar upon entry and smallish dining area facing the street. Decor is a bit funky but ok with us. There is an old time VW Bus in the front lawn and outside seating. Staff were friendly and cheerful we were seated promptly. We were four at a mismatched pair of tables by the windows facing the street. The chairs were not comfortable. Ryan our server came by and he was very helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately his recommendations for food did not measure up. We ordered cocktails and a beer which were very good. My gin martini was perfect although I specifically asked for one olive - I got three. The coup glass my martini was presented in was a beautiful cut glass crystal. We began with a few appetizers. The Ahi bites were great and my mussels were wonderful. A salad was also offered and was good. Obviously all just prepared. For mains we got the tuna poke bowl and two orders of the short rib noodle bowl. These dishes were terrible. The poke bowl was served cold as expected but the noodle dishes were supposed to be hot they came room temperature. The poke bowl had hardly any tuna in there. The noodle bowl had some type of meat which was like shoe leather. Short ribs are supposed to be on the bone and so tender that the meat falls off said bones this meat was something else. You do not slice short ribs. Ryan was informed as he had highly recommended the short ribs and these did not meet expectations. Two replacement noodle bowls were brought promptly and while they were brought hot the meat was no better. Not Ryan's bad. Anyway the food we got was not worth it. My poke bowl was basically a bowl of vegetables with a few bits of tuna for an outrageous price. We did not get dessert or coffee. Value was atrocious. The four of us paid over $400 for a few cocktails, a glass of wine and some noodles and vegetables. There are scores of restaurants that offer much better value and food in Lambertville. We understand that many folks from NY and Philly drive up this way for a weekend so perhaps that is driving the pricing. We will not return. We say Service "b", food "d", ambiance "c", value "f". I have been to Under the moon at least 6 times over the last 2 years. The wait staff has always been good, but food is hit or miss. I wish there were more salad options. After today's exchange over my meager fish tacos I will go elsewhere for lunch next time I am in Lambertville. I mentioned to my waitress that there was barely any fish on 2 of the tacos. We were so pleased with the food and ambiance here that we are definitely coming back! Our waitress was the perfect waitress....very peppy, attentive, and knew the menu well. It was a chilly and windy day but were able to sit in the area outside on the enclosed patio, which was well heated. I at first had my doubts that it would be warm enough to sit there w/all the openings, the sides flapping in the wind and all. But it was comfortable. The inside of the restaurant seemed to have a very cozy ambiance I hope to check out more the next time we eat here. Everything we had was tasty and nicely presented...from the black angus cheeseburger (w/side salad) to the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich + truffle fries, and the grilled cheese (3 cheeses & 2 layers, club sandwich style) + truffle fries. Each of our orders were served on tree trunk plates, which adds to the rustic ambiance of this restaurant that we loved! Only thing I would suggest is they bump up the serving size of the empanada appetizer from 2 to 3. Granted, the empanadas are pretty big and could serve 3 to 4 by cutting each of them in half, I usually see appetizer portions for things like this to be a minimim of 3. Oh, and the 20-layer cake was as delicious (vanilla, with fresh cream, strawberries, blueberries) as it was beautifully presented! read more

There was live music playing outside! Our server, Kyle, was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive! My table ordered all our food to share which was a great choice since there's so many tasty options. What we ordered: - Duck Macaroni & Cheese: the cherries added a nice, bright touch - Broccolini Caesar: a unique take on the classic caesar salad, the polenta croutons were fab - Fried Chicken & Waffle: crowd pleaser! the waffle was sweet & crispy, the chicken was nicely seasoned. (poached egg could've used a little salt & pepper) - Pork Belly Tapas: Best part was the slaw! - Short Rib Tapas: This was underwhelming, felt like it could've used more seasoning. The hostess sat us without even saying hello or follow me and then we sat, and sat, and sat while wait staff and the manager walked past and tended to other tables. Not a greeting, not a water, not even eye contact. Sorry that we wanted to eat? After 15 minutes or so we left but since no one knew we existed while we sat there, I doubt we were missed. I'll skip it next time just like they skipped us today. Kudos to the ownership for addressing this. We had a great dinner at Under the Moon over the weekend! They have fun cocktails! I got the fruity mule and the white sangria, both good. My husband got the pomegranate yuzu collins and he liked that as well. For the food, we got: Artichoke rice balls--very good! Didn't think they needed the blue cheese though. Salad--shaved brussels and arugula--was very good! Tapas Flight #2, you get to choose four dishes Polenta fries--four huge fries, again I thought the blue cheese was unnecessary. Maybe a parmesan frico instead? Pork belly bites--so good! This had Asian flavors which I liked. Chorizo & brandy--Spicy chorizo with some sweet caramelized onions. Great when eaten all together! Salpicon De Mariscos--this was octopus and shrimp and tastes similar to a ceviche. We got plenty of pieces of octopus, but only one shrimp. Overall, a great restaurant! Highly recommended! read more

Wow! I can not say enough good things about this place. We saw a dish on instagram and knew we had to try it. First off, super easy to make reservations ( thanks yelp!) so we were seated right away. The host and all of the waitstaff were so friendly and happy to help with whatever we needed. Now on to the food- they have a tapas menu and you can pick from a huge list of items. We got polenta fries- crispy and served with red sauce and blue cheese, shrimp, chorizo and pork. I really liked the presentation and all of the different flavors. For dinner we had the short ribs, pork chop and ropa vieja. Everything was flavorful, and cooked well. We couldn't decide which was the best. Finally for dessert we had the cannoli cake. Cannoli filling layer between crepes. So delicious. We are already planning our next trip back. Well done!! read more

Very good brunch/breakfast spot with a friendly staff located in a historic Victorian. We came in for a late breakfast and I opted for the salmon eggs benedict which were done perfectly with a runny yoke and firm whites. The Hollandaise tasted homemade and the dish was not over-sauced. I also enjoyed the in house coffee which was strong but not overpowering. Our server was super-friendly and the prices were very good for the portions we received. read more

Went for Mother's Day with a group of 8. We had a table on the back patio and weather was perfect. Drinks- kids loved the fresh lemonade and I had a pear drop at the suggestion of another table and it was sooo good. We had starters empanadas- amazing should have ordered one more - lentil soup- good- and Brussels sprouts also amazing. My son had the fried chicken sandwhich which he really liked, daughter got Belgian waffles and was satisfied and I got a bacon cheeseburger also really good-and so were the Parmesan-truffle fries. We dined on a Friday evening at 6:30 and while we had reservations at 6:45, they offered us an earlier seating on arrival. While it is rated as a $$ for lunch, it is a $$$ for dinner with a entrees ranging from $25-$60 per person. This is not a BYOB location. hosting a full bar and drink specials. We didn't have drinks, but we did have dessert and our bill with tip was $112. You can choose to eat outside or inside, we dined inside; the second floor is a private residence and the basement is haunted with no seating, just storage. Side note: Save a few extra minutes to tour the historic cemetery next door. It is a walk-through, you don't want to stay. Haha. How was the food and was it worth the price? Both questions are about value. I highly recommend the tapas/small plates, there is tier one/ four choices $30 or tier two, four choices with seafood and steak options, $40 . We ordered one of each, being served a total of 8 small plates and it was more than enough for two people. I can't remember the names, but we had skirt steak, meatballs, papas, pork, stew and octopus. Every morsel has unique and complimentary flavors. Everything was delicious and they wrapped what we couldn't finish. I had a chocolate crape cake and the texture wasn't for me. My wife order something like strawberry short cake and loved it. This is the perfect date night option. Why only four stars? When someone comes inside from the side door, like a server about every two minutes, it sounds like someone is stomping twice on the floor. In addition, I prefer to see my bill and with their POS system, the server comes to the table with their handheld and tells you the amount of your bill, stands while you decide the tip amount and you can get a printout after you pay. Very awkward if the evening didn't go well. ; ours did, so I was happy to leave 20%. Is it a must visit, I feel it's a yes. read more
