I took in both complete spring packs off my 3/4 ton pickup truck to be re-arched or replaced. They…read moresaid they were too worn to be re-arched and should instead be replaced. I agreed and also asked them to go ahead and just replace everything, shackles, bolts, u-bolts and overloads. Paid upfront with my credit card and a week later, my parts were ready for pickup. Picked them up and went to install them. That's when i noticed an issue. There was a set of spring alignment pins for a Freightliner but there were no overload springs. It's easy enough to return the pins but without those overload springs, it is not possible to tighten the u-bolts as i am unable to use the existing top plate or cast iron spacer because of the overload spring alignment nubs that are cast into the part. So, at that point the installation could go no further. I called Spectrac to try to figure out what happened and what needed to happen next. This is where things get weird. I "assumed" that the semi truck pins were supposed to be the overload springs and someone had an oops moment. It happens to us all from time to time so no big deal. Then i'm told that the only mistake was giving me the pins and if i wanted the overload springs i had paid for already, i would be blessed with the opportunity to pay for them again. After having already spent $900 on rear leaf springs, overloads, shackles, bolts, and u-bolts, i was repeatedly, but politely, told that these are not "usually" included with rear springs and that if i wanted to finish this installation, buying new overload springs from them was my only option. That is not an option. So, here i sit with an undrivable truck, a $900 hole in my wallet, and a company that could care less. All because of two overload springs i already bought and have not received.

I showed up unannounced with a serious issue (ignition switch failure) ... I could not shut the car off (as I would have remained stranded wherever I'd parked it). I pled my case to the owner and he said they were booked but would get to it later in the week with a diagnosis. I could tell they were familiar with the usual issues and I left confident. It turned out to be relatively simple. They expedited the repair on my car and it was, in fact, completed _before_ I'd even managed to make it back home. Same day. Additionally, as I had disassembled most of the steering column in search of a resolution, the shop charged approximately .10 of a billable hour of labor. I thought it was a typo. Not a billable hour or half-hour of labor but about .10 of an hour. Additionally, they retained the original defective part and provided it upon my return. If you have a "vintage" BMW of any sort (or modern, for that matter) do not hesitate to contact this shop.

When the dreaded red triangle of death appeared on my hybrid, I first called the dealer. The receptionist was clueless and wouldn't even let me speak to a service advisor at the Gilbert & Pecos location. I was told my only option was a a $98 diagnostic fee. Then I called APA and spoke with Drew. He explained that their diagnostic fee was similar, but more importantly, walked me through a few things they would try before even going that route. The diagnostic would be a last resort. That alone made a huge difference. When I dropped the car off, he offered me a ride home. I declined and stayed nearby, but the gesture stood out. When I checked back in later, they told me the issue was something super minor - and they fixed it for under $60. Had I gone with that Toyota dealer, I would have paid the diagnostic fee, and who knows what they would have charged for the remedy. Always always read reviews...The Toyota Dealer off Gilbert Road, has reviews showing concerns about repair practices & pricing. The sales side received great reviews, the repair side faces challenges. Bottom line: Drew and APA earned my trust. If I have any future car problems, I know exactly where I'm going. Dishonest Diagnosis, Disrespectful Response -- Avoid This Shop…read more APA Total Car Care has a "D-" rating with the BBB as of this review. Do you really want them working on your car? I brought my Tundra into APA Total Care Care (yes, it's misspelled on their invoices, diagnostics, media) for an A/C refrigerant leak diagnosis--something already confirmed by the Toyota dealer, who had added UV dye to help in the detection. I have no idea what they charged me for. It wasn't UV dye leak detection that's for sure. Instead of checking for dye or leaks, APA tried upselling me the exact same service (evacuate/recharge with dye) for 50% more--claiming the dye wasn't there. I later filmed the dye clearly visible under UV light myself. They also managed to cause damage while poking around. See the video. Their "inspection report" was just an automated upsell list, with no mention of the A/C issue I brought it in for (as shown on their own invoice). When I pressed the service manager for answers, he became aggressive. The owner's public reply on Google doubled down with personal attacks, called my wife and me "immature," and never addressed the video proof I shared. That response says more about their professionalism than I ever could. I challenged the owner to prove my wife and I were screaming and yelling, but you guessed it, there is no such evidence even though they have video cameras all over their lobby. I've posted video and photo evidence. If you value honesty, keep looking.

Shawn and Copperhead diesel were a god send for me…read more I had a mystery noise, I am from Northern Ca and was concerned about making the drive home so I called Copperhead and Shawn, who was completely swamped, still got my truck in. Come to find out the noise was it's own problem (and not detrimental for my drive) but my water pump was out (why are water pumps always out?!). Shawn gave me affordable options (as affordable as a damn diesel can be at least) and we found the best way to do the repair to make sure I made it home without going over kill. He could have over sold me, he could have tried to tell me I couldn't make it home without the whole project done (which of course I would have called BS on because I'm kinda snappy like that) and he could have also turned me away because his shop was so busy. How the hell is that possible when after 6000 it's still broken. He tries to say they fixed what was most likely the problem but there was always a chance it was going to be more. That's not what they said when they told me 6000. Never said it could be more. Would not have had them do the work if they would have been honest up front. I paid for their expected expertise and experience, but got scammed instead. 6000 for nothing. 6000 got me a still broken truck with the same issue and an argument about how it was done right? Scam artist. I'm out over 6000 and a truck? BEWARE!
