I was way overdue for a relaxing treatment, and Burke William didn't fail to deliver! 10:15 AM on a Friday in late May, parking was easy, and most of the stores on The Row were just waking up. Ascending the staircase to the front doors of BW, almost feels magical. I was quickly greeted, given a key to my locker, and then the doors of Oz opened! The lighting is just right, and the facilities are spotless. The robe awaiting me in my locker, unfortunately, was a size petite... I'm 6'1" 250 pounds though! I encountered another patron (i think) who reached through an 'employees only' door to find a 4XL sized robe which fit perfectly. Took a 15 minute jacuzzi. After helping myself to some cucumber, water and lemonade, I relaxed/napped in the waiting room for about 10 minutes... Waiting for my name to be whispered. The shiatsu/Swedish massage from Deirdre (sp?) was exquisite! Right pressure. Right amount of engaging conversation. She answered my questions and offered suggestions with just the right amount of empathy. After the 50 minute massage, I returned to the locker room for a session in the sauna, steam room, and took a shower. I wish the changing area in the locker room was a bit roomier, but that is my only gripe.

Wasn't really give any other options but to wait till 1:30PM so I did not take that option since I was already in the area at 9AM. Horrible! Parking is fine with three spots in front of the business and more areas to park on the sides. It did not seem like a busy area and parking does not seem to be an issue here. Amanda asked me if there were any areas she should focus on and also let me know I could let her know if I needed her to adjust the pressure. I've been getting massages in the San Jose area for years and Amanda is the first masseuse to ever ask me those questions. They also did a layer of heated towels between the sheet and the blanket that was magical and again, not something we've had done in other massage locations. The room was calming with low, warm lighting while we undressed. It was mostly shut off during our massage. The music was also playing low. Very easy to let yourself relax here. The lobby and overall space is well curated. The lobby has a coffee and tea bar that also has water post massage. 100/10 be sure to call and make an appt for you're girl! Can't wait to be back!

I came in for a 90-minute Vital Premium Scrub and left completely transformed. First, the space itself: spotlessly clean, with none of the black mold issues I've seen creeping into older spas in the Saratoga area. That alone is a relief. I was lucky enough to be assigned to Young, and she is in a class of her own. Small but telling detail: she uses a gel face pillow so you can lay face-down comfortably the entire session. If you've had enough massages, you know how much a folded towel starts to hurt after an hour. I asked if this was a house standard -- it's not, it's just her. That kind of thoughtfulness sets the tone for everything. Her scrub technique was the best I've experienced in 20 years. No exaggeration. Her massage hit every trigger point without me having to redirect her once -- pressure, focus, timing -- all dialed in perfectly. The front desk staff were equally impressive: warm, attentive, and they personally walk new guests through the space so you never feel lost. The one area with room to grow: the aftercare products in the drying area. Having visited spas in Palo Alto, and even facilities in South East Asia, I've come to appreciate a quality face lotion and hair cream post-scrub -- especially when you're not carrying your own. A small upgrade there would make this truly flawless. Also worth noting: there's a communal lounge with 30 minutes of complimentary massage chairs, laptop workspace, and free WiFi. Hidden gem. ANDDD there's a cafeteria!! This is my new favorite spa. Hands down.

I've never done the full rotation of hot tub to dry sauna to steam sauna to cold plunge - it was genuinely painful. If you've never experienced this, be prepared to get your heart racing. I was expecting a relaxing experience, but the saunas will leave you out of breath, and the cold plunge will shock your system. It's supposed to be really good for detoxing your system, and I definitely felt like I sweat out a bunch of toxins. We really enjoyed the massage chairs after this whole rotation and showering. The massage chairs are super comfortable and have a variety of massage options. It was so soothing that I fell asleep during my massage. There are a variety of popular scrub massage options that I did not try this time around. The downstairs co-ed dry saunas were a bit underwhelming. The saunas were comfortably warm and had blankets to rest on. These saunas didn't seem to be for the purposes of detoxing since they were at a moderate temperature. I was so comfortable that I ended up falling asleep in multiple rooms lol. Bay Spa was the perfect introduction to Korean spas, and I will definitely be returning!

Review for Watercourse Way Bath House Spa…read more A peaceful oasis in the middle of Palo Alto that works for just about any occasion. This is a long overdue review. I have been to Watercourse Way by myself, with girlfriends, and with boyfriends--and it has been solid every single time. Whether you're looking for quiet alone time, a girls' day, or a relaxing couples experience, this place truly has something for everyone. What makes Watercourse Way special is the privacy and flexibility. The private rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Each one typically includes a hot tub, cold plunge, shower, and a comfortable resting area with clean towels and linens. It feels like your own little retreat tucked away from the world. They also offer larger rooms that are perfect for sharing with friends--soaking, chatting, and maybe adding a massage to the experience. The massage services are excellent, and you can book them individually, as a couple, or as part of a group visit. The staff makes the whole process easy and welcoming. A few practical notes: * Parking can be a little tricky right near the entrance * I usually park at the Whole Foods on Homer Avenue and walk a block or two--it's simple and feels very safe * The facility is consistently clean, well-maintained, and professionally run * Prices are reasonable for the level of privacy and service you receive What I appreciate most about Watercourse Way is how it encourages you to slow down. It's the kind of place that reminds you to take care of yourself, breathe, and reset. Life is short. Stress is unavoidable. You can't control other people--but you can control how you respond. So go soak. Get a massage. Unwind. Make it part of your routine. You'll leave calmer than when you arrived--and that alone makes it worth it.

I had been neglecting my skin and knew it needed some help, so I booked the custom facial so the esthetician could choose what made sense instead of guessing myself. Once I was trying to relax, in the towel robe and lying down eyes closed to block the bright light, she looked at my skin and proceeded to tell me I needed a different facial because the custom one wouldn't be "enough." It was not really clear to me what the differences were although I asked clarifying questions, but she talked through multiple options and prices even mentioning one had an offer of a free take home product. This was NOT the vibe I was looking for. Now I could have just said no please stick with the original plan, but I was vulnerable... this was the first nice postpartum thing I had done for myself and did want to do what was needed for my skin. However, I ultimately felt like I was being upsold and having to make the decision to spend more money on the spot when I'm sitting there eyes closed trying to relax. It was too much mental load especially since I wasn't familiar with the facial options as a first time customer. The mention of the free product also made me feel like it was a sales pitch. I wasn't familiar with the product, and it wasn't going to play a factor in my facial choice. The facial overall seemed good and I did add on microderm abrasion which I do think make sense for my skin and would have been a simple add on without doing the mental math on the other facial types. At the end, she put on a tinted sunscreen that when I stepped out, made me appear slightly orange like a really poor foundation match so I ended up going home to wipe off my face instead of continuing along my day. All in all, I think they use quality products and know what they're doing. However, my recent facial somewhere else reminded me how this one was simply not a relaxing experience, made me feel put on the spot, and led me to spend more than I had planned without the conviction it made a noticeable difference.

Review for Immersion Spa ‍…read more I absolutely loved this place, and to this day, I still miss it. When I lived in the Bay Area, I was a faithful and loyal customer at Immersion. It became one of my favorite self-care rituals. I would bring family and friends, and I went regularly--about once every quarter. It was something I always looked forward to. There is currently no Korean spa in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I live now, and the closest option is in Atlanta. So yes... boo-hoo. Nothing quite compares to this experience. What made Immersion special was the sense of freedom and relaxation the moment you walked through the door. The spa is thoughtfully organized, very clean, and beautifully maintained. You store your belongings in secure lockers, receive a waterproof wristband, and then the entire experience begins. I always arrived at least 90 minutes before my massage so I could fully enjoy the amenities. That extra time was part of the magic. My favorite features included: * The hot tub and invigorating cold plunge * The wet sauna and dry sauna * The gentle, calming warmth of the Himalayan salt room * Complimentary roasted tea and water * High-quality bath and shower products in the women's area * A peaceful, well-run environment with clear structure and cleanliness standards Everything felt intentional and relaxing. My go-to service was always the Fusion massage, which blends shiatsu and deep tissue techniques using organic coconut oil. The therapists were incredibly skilled and intuitive--they knew exactly how to work out tension and restore balance. Some of the best massages I've ever had were here. Over the years, prices have increased slightly--as they have everywhere. I remember paying around $100 before COVID, and later seeing it closer to $130. Even so, the value of the experience made it worth every dollar. I was there hook, line, and sinker. A few practical notes for future guests: * Parking is limited and shared with neighboring businesses (including Kumon), so timing matters * The spa has separate men's and women's areas * No outside shoes are allowed inside the spa * Clothing is optional in designated areas, which is standard for Korean spa culture * Plan to arrive early to fully enjoy the amenities before your service One service I personally never tried was the traditional Korean body scrub. I watched others experience it, and while many people love it, it looked a little too intense for my taste. That said, the massages and spa amenities are absolutely exceptional. If you're considering a membership, it's worth exploring. This is the kind of place that becomes part of your routine once you experience it. I still haven't found anything in the Southeast that truly matches the level of service, atmosphere, and overall experience of Immersion. I keep looking--but this one set the bar very high. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

We arrived early so we could take advantage of the showers, saunas and hot tubs. The locker rooms and sauna areas are divided by gender and are full of amenities. After that we met with our massage therapist and had the best 85 minutes of deep tissue work. Post massage we headed back to the separate locker rooms and had full access to the amenities again. Check out was positive and our friends at the front desk were just as supportive and kind. I've seen other reviews of other Spas harassing clients for tips or add on services this is not the case at Immersion. Additionally I left my water bottle at the spa and when I contacted them they had it waiting for pick up. I recommend this place for daddy daughter dates, solo self care or a couples retreat!

There must have been some kind of promotion cuz prices online were slightly lower than the price menu on site, but they did charge a $3 fee for credit card payment. I reserved an hour-long body massage, and requested Holly when booking on the website. It was confirmed, but when I came in, they told me only Bebe was available... So why are you asking me what I want if there is only one choice?!? I came here with the understanding that I could select my masseuse, in fact it's required that you select a massage therapist when booking online... very misleading. The massage room was simple and inviting, with perfect temperature for comfort, and soothing music in the background. Bebe came in about 10 minutes late, but she was very sweet and actually did a good job, found and worked on my knots right away, even used her knees and feet to effectively massage my back (there are bars on the ceiling for the masseuse to do some back walking). I asked for harder pressure, and she delivered, most effective on my back, neck, and shoulders, not so much on my limbs. The sauna and steam room were also available which I opted not to use. And there's a comfy waiting area off the lobby too.
