First visit, midafternoon Thursday, after a cheeseburger at Red Mill, and it's quiet with light pop music, with a very 2020s Seattle decor and vibe. Near-empty pastry enclosure and no sweets in sight, my inclination was to pass. Then I noticed the roaster and burlap bags and the young blond coming through the doors with an empty garbage can who walked behind the counter and greeted me with an accent I guessed was Nordic. I decided to ask about the roasting and she seemed knowledgeable and competent so I ordered espresso, the center of the bingo card. Sparkling water provided. Wish I could praise the output but it was skinny on crema and the body was too thin and over-extracted. The sparkling water cut the bitterness down but if I were to return I'd have to have some milk, a cortado at least. read more

The food here was really good! Our croissant sandwiches were unusually delicious and definitely very fresh. The drinks were fun and delicious. I loved the seasonal options! The service was polite and efficient. I like that their patio is dog friendly but it is a bit dirtier than some so perhaps bring a little blanket or something for your pup if you have a four legged swifer like us (corgi). Maybe the best coffee I've had in Seattle hands down.. the interior of the shop is cozy and bright, with several places to sit. The staff is very chill and kind, they care about the craft coffee! First time trying Ugly Mug -- fun name. Ate an Egg Croissant Sandwich with the bacon and Swiss cheese options. Drink was an Americano. The sandwich was fantastic. I enjoyed the poached egg and tomato slice. It was served on a real ceramic plate and with real metal knife and fork -- nice touches. Stopped by Ugly Mug on a rainy Saturday to hang out and do some work on my computer. There were quite a few people in the late morning, but most were grabbing and going quickly. Service was great - the staff was really friendly and handled the morning rush well. Food was also good - pretty generic cafe food options like bagels, pastries, and such, but their croissant sandwiches seemed really popular ($7-$11). For drinks - they had a lot of fun options and seemed to switch out seasonal drinks often and the latte was pretty good ($5.50) so I will definitely come by to try it again! Overall vibe was very homey and cozy, reminded me of study cafes when I was in college. They also allow dogs inside, which is such a plus for me! Lastly parking situation is not too bad, there's 2 residential streets with easy parking on a weekend. Overall, definitely recommend as it seems to be a local favorite in the neighborhood. read more

I was so excited to finally get to visit this neighborhood coffee shop after seeing it for so long. It's a rainy day and this will be great! Until it's not. The pretty little girl behind the counter with the lovely accent needs to learn in hurry not to lie to the customers face. It's not good for business. Just because you say you did something ( which you didn't) doesn't mean it's true. I gave her a chance to redeem herself but in the long run I had to prove to her that she was wrong. I ordered STRAWBERRY cream cheese. I'm glad I got to open it and leave it for you on the counter while you were in the back room complaining about your customer ( the one who pays your paycheck) being wrong to your boss. Fun fact: strawberry cream cheese is pink and tastes like strawberries. I love that your boss had to tell you, you were wrong. He made it. He knows what he put on it. Also if I want room for cream leave room for cream. And if I ask for some give me more than a 1/2 of teaspoon. Don't be cheap. A bit of advice, the customer is usually right. Coffee was fine, service was...awkward? I walked in, it was very quiet, and there were three guys standing behind the counter just kind of staring. It made me nervous to where I didn't read the menu thoroughly enough to find drip coffee, so I ended up ordering an Americano with - get this - two shots of espresso added, where my husband thought I had ordered drip coffee with the shots. Nope, my socially anxious ass ordered espresso with shots of espresso. I felt like an idiot for the rest of the day. Visiting from out of town, there's a metric ton of small coffee shops on the outskirts of Seattle, but this location caught our eye (mainly because it was close to our Airbnb) & I'm glad that it did. Ordered the a couple of drinks & couple of food items & they all came out within 10 minutes. The food in particular was especially good. Egg & cheese croissant - think they used extra large croissants because it was a lot bigger than expected. Recommend ordering it with ham &/or bacon (adding meat cost an extra dollar) and it can easily be shared by 2 people. Salmon bagel - very juicy & flavorful. Came with everything you'd expect from a great lox bagel (capers, onions, a healthy dose of cream cheese, good portion of salmon). A little pricy but well worth it. read more

Great new addition to the Interbay area! This place used to be a Starbucks and it was empty for a long time, so glad a local coffee shop opened up and took it's place. Came in a handful of times so far during soft opening and now it's hard and officially opened, they are great! Nice friendly greetings as you enter, warm & comfy feeling, homey feel to it. Similar layout as the old Starbucks, they didn't change too much of the layout, just changed up the decor. Tasty coffee and tasty food! They do have non coffee drinks too if you about that. They also offer some breakfast sandwiches you can get, I believe it is served all day as I recall ordering one of their Croissant Egg Sandwiches with Bacon one time like at 2pm. It was very tasty, the mayo they put on it was very good, comes with a slice of cheese and a tomato. Good sized sandwich and I ate it up! They offer lunch sandwiches too, if you about that. I believe their bakery items are from Macrina, so it's pretty good stuff. The staff is very friendly & personable, they are real nice. Prices are about what I would've thought this place would be, comparable to other local coffee and cafes around town. I'll give this location 5 stars! I absolutely love the layout and seating situation so much more then the U Dub location. It's way more open and has so much light. The staff are super chill and friendly. I'm super sad they ran out of waffles but it made me try some of thier lunch items! I tried the Rosemary Aioli Turkey Sandwich. I gotta say it was pretty tasty. The rosemary flavor was mild and not overpowering. Pretty simple but really filling. If you're in the area, I would definitely check it out! Amazing lil cafe! This place is about 10 minutes walking distance from my Airbnb so my boyfriend and I walked down here with our dogs for a morning coffee. The interior is very cute and clean, staff members were super sweet and friendly. I got an iced matcha latte and my boyfriend got the Blackberry Pie Mocha (don't remember if that's the exact name). For food, we shared a croissant egg sandwich and added jalapeños. Everything was super yummy and we ate on the patio outside. They also have some cute merch -- tote bags, stickers, etc. I picked up a cute mug for myself :) Overall, highly recommend and would love to be back once more before leaving Seattle! read more

Coffee wasn't great,just normal. Avocado toast was just ok and on a white bread which I didn't appreciate. My friend got their croissant egg sandwich and hated it due to too much mayo in it. So probably I wouldn't go with their kitchen options if I'm there again. Their bakery, however, is from Macrina and it was good. The service was top notch - very friendly and attentive. Finally had a chance to check out the Interbay location. Totally different aesthetic than the UW location but with it's own charm. Love all the natural light from the window in front. Very roomy two top, four tops a loveseat with a raw edge table. Was surprised how big it was. Lunch items and sweets available my friend and I shared a apricot oatmeal cookie, I grabbed an 8oz latte was pleased with my hemp latte not all baristas are great at creating latte art with hemp milk. Great little find! We stumbled upon Ugly Mug while searching for cafes in either Interbay or U-District to grab a quick coffee/lunch while having a day in the city. Overall impression - solid! The ambiance and vibes come together well, from the nicely executed mismatched furniture and decor, to the nice accent finishes and great music. Enjoyed the food and drink, and will be back for sure! Coffee - I had the Turmeric + Cardamom latte which was superb, and my friend had the iced lavender latte which came together with a great balance of refreshing light sweetness and lavender notes. Food - We ordered the waffle, bulgogi cheesesteak, and an egg croissant sandwich with cheese+bacon. The waffle was really great, I would definitely order that again, and the egg sandwich was also tasty despite being a bit messy to share. As for the bulgogi cheesesteak, it was okay, but nothing special- I'm not a terribly big fan of bulgogi to begin with (despite loving Korean food), and it just didn't have anything standout about it You can bet that I'll be back to try more. Great coffee shop. Seemed consistently busy with locals while we were there. I recently moved to Seattle and we decided to give this place a try. I went with 2 others in my group and each of us were pleasantly surprised with our coffees and food. We each got the breakfast croissant which was *chef's kiss*! Oat milk lattes iced and hot were great. Whatever toast they have is excellent. I'd highly recommend. They have enough seating to come in and enjoy your beverage while grabbing a bite of food. We stopped in here after getting off of our cruise ship before we drove all the way back to The other side of the state. We we're starving! Super cute little cafe. I go here a lot because it's close to my apartment, but I probably wouldn't bother if it wasn't the only place within walking distance. The quality and price are good but not great. The seating area is small but a good place to work and finish your drink or food. The service is usually the weakest part for me. I'm not the sort of customer who needs a huge smile when I walk in the door and my every need met without question, but courtesy is always appreciated. Last time I went in, the two baristas had a long, fairly loud conversation about my order and how they wouldn't drink something with the flavor I had chosen. Never knew that had an Ugly Mug in Interbay. We were in the area and decided to grab some grub here. I have been to the U district one a longggg time ago and don't have any recollection of it. Got an egg nog latte, Belgian waffle with lavender whip cream, and the croissant sandwich with bacon. Everything was pretty good but the croissant sandwich stood out to us. The mayo tapenade really made the sandwich so good! They have quite a bit of seating with some in the front and also in the back. This place also allows dogs inside! What a perk! I had 30 minutes to kill before an appointment in the area so I stopped in and had a Lavender Chai & Blueberry Scone. The barista offered to warm my scone and it & the chai were quickly served in the most adorable pink & orange tableware-- I felt like I was having a tea party for 1. Perfect Saturday afternoon vibes. This is one of the best local coffee shops around, and the staff especially Melissa are all so nice. I highly recommend the chia tea lattees and avacado toast. Unlike most places the avacado toast doesn't cost $15, instead it's about $7 and it's huge and so tasty. And you get two huge slices of toast. I recommend get one slice avacado and one slice with the strawberries. Also great spot to study, lots of seatting and spot to plug in. Love this place!! read more

I've always liked the other location at university district! But it was a bit small in there and all seats could be taken. This place was a bit far for my commute since I didn't have a car until now, but luckily this place opened! And the upside is it's also spacious and look really modern, I love it! The staff are also really friendly and everything comes out quickly! I ordered the earl grey milk tea and smoked salmon bagel, which were both delicious I finished both within 30 minutes :) I even got another earl grey togo! The ambiance here provides an ideal setting for studying, meetings or just hanging out with friends. The staff are friendly, welcoming and provide exceptional customer service. Great selection of tea, chai's, and coffee beverages. The food menu provides breakfast, brunch, and lunch options which are great for dining in or on the go. I love their Rosemary Aioli Turkey Sandwich and Bulgogi Sandwich. Their bakery items are sourced from Macrina Bakery, but the Belgian waffle and chocolate chip cookies are homemade. Overall great experience! The house made vanilla bourbon added to the coffee is great. Got 3 good items- veggie focaccia, salmon bagel and Belgium waffle and they were all delicious. Picked up coffee here on a late sunny Sunday morning. It didn't appear that they had a parking lot so we parked around the block. We ordered drinks off the specialty drink menu - the coconut cream einspanner and the aloha mocha. Both drinks were really good! The coconut cream einspanner is dairy-free which I was immediately drawn to ordering. It's a coconut cream on top of an americano (ordered iced). The aloha mocha (ordered hot with almond milk) tasted very similar to a Hawaiian latte I had in Hawaii. Overall, very satisfied with our drinks, and I look forward to trying more of their specialty drinks like the strawberry milk and butterscotch latte! read more
