The food is so distasteful and poorly made. Eggs are dry pancakes are also very dry and the prices are outrages for the quality of food you get. I've been here twice and it was just a waist of money each time they say they are a breakfast joint but honestly with how the food tastes and how much it costs for that poor quality food it's ridiculous! Breakfast here was wonderful and I'd recommend it. Prices are just a tad high, but seems to reflect a slightly higher cost of living than where I call home and a high quality menu. My bride and I ended up splitting a taco breakfast, which included three tacos... one for her and two for me. With her OJ, she was satisfied, and it was enough to satisfy me too. They were yummy and full of flavor. We sat outside on their patio. It was going to be a hot day, but it was early so the heat wasn't blazing yet, and the whole patio is shaded (from the tall building). The place looked almost new and looked sparkly clean. Staff was pleasant and the food was hot and came to us with little wait time. It appears they can easily push together tables if needed for large groups. There was a local "tax/charge" on the receipt, but looks like maybe 1% or a fraction more... no big deal. Nice place to go if you're not really trying to pinch pennies. I can't call it overpriced, it's just not a budget place either. Oh, I almost forgot... we opted to swap to soy-chorizo in the tacos, which contributed to the cost as there was a modest additional fee. read more

The Urban Egg is definitely worth a stop when you're in Johnstown. You can definitely expect a wait (ahem* brunch in Denver*), as their space is not huge- but you can check in to join the wait list on Yelp to cut that down a little bit. The restaurant has kind of a hipster vibe, with the Make your own Bloody Mary bar to match. They also have mimosas and their own pressed juices. They have a really wide selection of food including sandwiches, benedicts, and pancakes & waffles. I had the house favorite avocado toast, which came with this AMAZING spring salad with canteloupe, prosciutto, and goat cheese. I could eat that for days. The avocado toast was very unique and interesting, but I was slightly disappointed. I would've liked way more avocado on it, and the bread was surprisingly tough. However, their locally sourced coffee was awesome, and our server was very attentive and friendly. An all around great experience! read more

We went for breakfast this morning and probably will not go back. The toast was good but they only had one choice of jelly that was as one I don't like! Hash brown were good. The eggs and turkey bacon didn't have much flavor. Our first cup of coffee was hot but our refills were warm and cooled off fast. Not fond of cold coffee! Service was mediocre at best. There was a time I would heartily recommend Urban Egg but my last 2 visits see a definite difference in food. The service and employees are excellent - they always have been and that hasn't changed. However the menu has changed and not for the better. There's an item on the menu that mentions "Lump crab". I ordered this thinking it was going to be pieces of lump crab - no it was far from it. It was something that had been mashed and ground - think canned cat food. And it was not appealing to the eye and certainly didn't taste good. It appears whoever writes the menu has taken a huge leap in calling this lump crab. I also would like to mention what is called a "strudel" on the menu - you will not get a strudel - you'll be receiving a pancake. So ask your waitress about menu items before ordering. read more

Once you are seated the service is good and food is really good. The wait was way too long. When I checked with the hostess she insisted she texted me but when I looked on my phone the only text I got is the initial one so that may be why our suggested 15 minute wait ended up to be a half hour. We originally went here for breakfast and had a wonderful breakfast, different and delicious. I would definitely recommend this for breakfast anytime. But it gets better. While I was there I saw their table holder that explained their after hours event service. It was exactly what I needed for a family event I was planning. It was private, clean and comfortable and the food was great! Mark and Nate are the managers and were wonderful to work with. The customer service in both cases was great!!i highly recommend this place for both breakfast and any events you may want to. To add to my review: we have since come here several times and have never had a bad meal and I have always had great customer service. The greeters however are in need of some customer service training! We came in with a party of four and had to enter our own information into the Yelp waitlist app while the host literally stood there and did nothing. Great breakfast drinks, good food, but a little bit pricey. I love going to the Urban Egg with my nursing friends for a couple of post night shift beverages, but if I have breakfast and two drinks it's around $40 just for me. I'd love to go more often, I just can't afford to. The Urban 52 is one of my favorite drinks (you have to like Gin though) and the avocado toast is quite delicious. Their lattes are AMAZING. I recommend this place if you're looking for an upscale breakfast restaurant and you're willing to pay a little extra for that upscale feel. read more

First time at Urban Egg. The drink menu is as big as the food menu. I had the breakfast burrito, it was terrible. My daughter had the stuffed French toast, it was just okay. There is nothing Urban about this place. It just wasn't for me. The service was great and fast. It was very cold every time someone new opened the front door. It was plenty busy so I don't think my negative review is going to hurt them. read more
