Nice place but a little pricy for lunch. Decor and atmosphere was very nice, are service was exceptional but the food was just okay. We left paying $65 for lunch (total, tip and everything) and that was only having water with our meal. It was just okay got $65. Most likely will not be back, although they do have a happy hour with $10 expresso tini so, never say never!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this place but I was just not impressed! The menu is HUGE and has something for everyone on it but the food was just okay. For starters, we had the Korean chicken appetizer which was good but kinda reminded me of some boneless chicken nuggets from Buffalo Wild Wings which was disappointing because from the outside of the restaurant, clothe napkins and real silverware on the tables I expected more. Our server Alana was great and tolerated all my questions about the menu items and even made great recommendations I finally settled on the Bison bacon cheeseburger and parmesan and truffle fries. The burger was about 4ouces cooked so it could have been a double and would have been just enough, the flavors were good, and the parmesan truffle fries were okay but nothing jumped off the plate at me. My date had the Turkey sandwich which also had truffle parmesan fries, she said "my sandwich was okay but not great. I guess that is the theme of this review, Good but not great. I would be willing to give this place another try though.

I booked a dinner presentation for 25 people with urban kitchen recently, and it was an absolute delightful experience. I've done several of these in Bozeman and all Montana and the timing of the dinner around the presentation was remarkable. The order was taken before the presentation, salads on the table as the presentation started and dinner as the presentation was wrapping up. The food was remarkable, especially the Ono that I had. Tyler is a true professional at what he does and I will definitely be booking the banquet room the next time I'm in Bozeman! Thanks, Tyler.

There's a lot to say here. Found this restaurant on Yelp & we are SO pleased with the excellent experience from taste, service and vibe! First off, the establishment has a great trendy vibe, clean & crisp and appealing. We were immediately greeted & seated in the bar and waited in by TJ & Ryan. Excellent & attentive service. I had a Huckleberry Wildflower Hopper and it met my expectations for a light fruity beverage. I chose the Mac & Cheese with a Grilled Shrimp add-on to create a great meal. The cheese melted great and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. The shoe stopper was the Pork Flank!! The flavor of the sauce was mouthwatering & the meat actually fell off the boss with no knife needed! We both kept eating of each other's plate. Great experience. No doubt, we will be back here when we come through town. Thank you for ending our evening with a great experience. We all spend money of food, but too often are left with the "I wish they would haves" or " I wish my meal was XYZ"....but not tonight. 100% perfect evening.

We came here to celebrate my birthday and were looking for a place with no wait and gluten-free options. This spot checked all the boxes! They were super accommodating with my gluten allergy, even making substitutions for my fish dish to ensure it was safe--and it was absolutely perfect. My kids and husband were happy with their meals too, which is always a win. It's a cute, romantic place, and we'd definitely come back again!

I was in Bozeman, Montana today and decided to walk around town and eat lunch. The hotel recommended the Urban Kitchen. They had a good Yelp rating, so I stopped in. The place is trendy, clean, and quiet. I was greeted within about 2 minutes by the host. She was friendly but she forced me to sit at the bar because I was alone. As you can see in the photo, they weren't busy. I didn't want to sit on the uncomfortable bar stool... but wasn't given an option even though restaurant was half empty and a group of 2 were seated farther back. I sat at the bar, and was greeted fairly promptly by the bartender. He got me a drink and a menu. The menu had many items that looked tasty, and I selected the Lemon Garlic Brick Chicken. The bartender asked if 20min cook time fit into my schedule. I appreciated that. About 20min passed and I got my food. It looked good on presentation. The sauce was tasty. It had hints of garlic and lemon. The bok choy was delicious and perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were tasty but too mushy for my liking. The chicken was disappointing. It was tender and moist, but to my surprise was very bland. It tasted like fried breading over boiled chicken. I would say stay clear of the chicken and try their beef or pork. The service by the bartender was great, but the host made me feel like the restaurant saw me as an inconvenience being a solo seat. Definitely not appreciated. The food was mediocre for the expensive price. I may try them again with a burger or steak next time.

Went there due to location. Average at best. Unfortunately the new waitress didn't know anything about gluten free options. Additionally my food came prepared not as the menus stated so I had to send it back due to spice. Although they tried to make it right not sure I'd go back.

We came for the Garlic Lemon Brick Chicken, and found so much more! This is a cute little bistro with indoor and outdoor patio dining (behind the restaurant). Awesome staff, great service and fantastic food. Could not pause to get photos of entrees, but the chicken and the evening's bison steak with lobster special were both delicious. Would recommend highly, and hope to return.

Service was phenomenal and food was good. A group of nine of us went for lunch and while it was a bit spendy for lunch, the food was good. Truffle fries- yes please!! I had a Greek salad and it was really very good. Would be great for a date night.

First off, I would recommend doing reservations if you like sitting at a table. We did not have one, as tourists who knew? Did not matter, as they had spots at the bar which we were happy to take. We ordered an Old Fashioned and Manhattan to start, the bartender made some tasty cocktails. Extra points for immediately bringing us water as well. We split the sprouts/carrots starter and each ordered the avocado Caesar salad. When they brought the starter, it was a little weird that they did not think to bring us little plates, so we just chowed down right out of the little bowl. Not that I am used to raving about salads, but the Caesar is really well done here! The service was super attentive and friendly as well. The place was crowded on a Saturday night, so it is obviously very popular. We enjoyed our food and cocktails very much!

Can't send enough kuddos to chiefs Joe and Kari. Calamari, steaks and sea scallops were cooked to perfection and seasoned so well. Timing was also perfect. Thanks to Lisa and Anna. This was amazing, thought the yellow curry would make it weird but holy pearl onions, soaked up that lemon for a pop is citrus, duck scored, rendered and cooked perfectly. Must try. read more

Like so many places these guys are dealing with short/ new staff, but I think over all they are making the best with few noticeable issues. Our server was delightful with her Irish accent and friendly attitude. Food was delish and they have a nice wine by the bottle selection. Cocktails were great too. Our table had the Duck, lemon chicken, filet and scallops and they were all tasty with nice size portions. Would come back again. read more

Food was OK, Service & Ambiance Subpar Our party had a variety of items including the charred filet, ribeye, pork chop & bison filet. Food was good but not a place we would revisit nor recommend. My family and I were visiting from the South and were disappointed with both the atmosphere and the service. The bathroom situation was strange (open concept, middle of restaurant) and overall quality of experience and price, in our opinion, was mismatched. Drinks were fairly priced (~$14/each) but not good comparatively speaking. While I recognize this establishment is listed as casual, at ~$80 per person (all in) I expect more than an unlit candle, cordial service and being seemingly rushed out with a mobile kiosk for payment and the server peering over our shoulder. read more

We got a late lunch here today. Sat in the bar area and took recommendations from the bartender, TJ. We both had the bison burgers (BCG) with the truffle fries and they were delicious! Great afternoon vibe during football season and TJ added and awesome personal touch. I'd highly recommend!! read more

Food and atmosphere is a 10+. The design of this restaurant creates multiple spaces that offer guests varied options for dining ambience. Indoor, by front windows, side dining rooms with energy galore, tables near the bar and outdoor dining. We ate at the large round table in the bar area that sat 10 easily. Drink options are endless and presented beautifully. Appetizers were ample and included calamari and shrimp, fried oysters and crab, burrata plate and watermelon/nectarine/ cucumber/ tomato salad. You cannot go wrong with chops and steaks that were cooked to perfection. Other guests raved about the poke, chicken dishes and rice bowls. Our wait staff were friendly and accommodating. Will be back. Bon appetite! read more

Every dish we ordered was amazing - we live in the state that must not be mentioned who travel and move everywhere and drive prices up - so I have access to lots of great innovative restaurants with award-winning chefs and awesome service. Urban Kitchen is in this league - truly delicious, tons of warm lighting and pleasing decor (fresh flowers even in winter), and warm, friendly service. I know you have to walk a couple blocks off the Main Street, but you won't be disappointed! Look forward to coming back next time we're in beautiful Bozeman! read more

We had been on the road for four days from Maryland, headed to British Columbia and because we had an eight month old duck toller puppy who wasn't happy to be in the car each night as we stopped, we chose a restaurant that was nearby our hotel, often not the best culinary experience. But tonight was different. The Urban Kitchen just six minutes from our ubiquitous hotel was just what we hoped for, fabulous food and great service. We were early, just 5:30 so no reservation, no problem. We chose a high top near the bar. Our waiter from behind the bar was all that you would hope for, knowledgeable, present when needed and absent when appropriate. A "Fish On" beer from the Kettle brewery was the perfect pale Ale followed by a bottle of the Sienna Cabernet to accompany our dinner. we'd both had enough beef for the last few days and each chose chicken. I had the Korean Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and pickled vegetables and my husband had the Bricked Chicken. I thought mine was best and he insisted his was. We were both right, they were delicious. We don't normally do dessert but it was clear that this kitchen did seriously good food and with the suggestion of our waiter we chose the carrot cake with a cantaloupe sorbet, OMG! I need to run home and figure out how to make that sorbet, just fantastic. We will be returning from this trip in late September and we will definitely be visiting the Urban Kitchen on our way back. Don't miss It! read more

One of our favorite restaurants in Bozeman. The bison tenderloin was superb. Cooked to medium rare, it almost melted in my mouth. My wife had the maple leave duck ramen bowl. It was very tasty, not too salty and just right. Next time I will try the pork chop dish that looks very good. Our dinner was accompanied by a nice bottle of Emmolo, of Napa Valley. Our waiter, Tyler, took good care of us. We enjoyed our first evening out in Bozeman at Urban Kitchen after a long flight from Maine. Check it out! read more

Modern eatery that focuses on local products. Good food without being pretentious. The apps were nice in that together it was a very well balanced dish. Bison meatloaf was great. Bison bolognese was nice but wish there was a little more bison and a little more meaty flavor. The cocktails took it down to 4 starts...really light on the pours. For $12 a piece I expect a solid pour. read more

Review: GOOD. We had the 8oz bison, the yellow curry, and a bison bolognese w/orecchiette. The coconut sorbet w/ orange was fantastic, exceeded expectations. All very good, cooked and presented nicely, and we enjoyed our meal and the quiet yet lively local ambience. BAD: Refusing completely straightforward substitutions of sides due to allergies, **when both sides are clearly available and priced identically on the menu**, is tacky and coarse. We understand if the ingredients are interdependent; or if people are trying to finagle free upgrades; or it's a diner in a 1970 road drama starring Jack Nicholson; fine, we get it. Get that extra $9. But none are the case, here. Change it, let us know, and this goes 4/5 stars, instantaneously. Your restaurant, servers (who have to explain and negotiate this awkwardly), and customers sure deserve it. read more

In town for an Audi service. Good quick delivery to La Quinta, out by Interstate. I enjoyed the pork belly, with a very sizable side order of parm French fries. It was a very enjoyable late lunch. Docked them one star b/c "pricey", near $30 delivered, with tip! read more

WARNING!!!!!!! Looks are deceiving. This place is a Kentucky fried chicken imitating a high-end steak house/restaurant. I ordered a $52 ribeye, it is about a half inch thick and of course I ordered it medium rare, and of course it came out medium to well done. The potatoes were between cold and warm and the brussels sprouts were extremely greasy. The server, although she apologized a bunch of times still messed up other parts of our order and to top it off, management never visited the table seeing if there was anything that they could do to rectify the situation. We are now in search of a pharmacy to find some syrup of ipecac. Dine here at your own risk, but if you feel like wasting money, by all means try it. read more

We received fabulous, friendly service and amazing food at Urban Kitchen. The Bison steak was tender and seasoned to perfection and the Bison Vodka Bolognese was magnificent and flavorful. We enjoyed the Bang Bang Tuna and Crispy Calamari with Cauliflower as appetizers, both were artfully prepared and delicious. The Huckleberry Hopper adult beverage was handcrafted as we watched and it was delicious! For dessert, we enjoyed the Brookie topped with homemade creamy chocolate ice cream and a complimentary serving of the decadent seasonal pumpkin cake topped with a generous brick of handmade cherry ice cream. We will definitely return on our next trip through Bozeman. read more

The immediate friendly hello of our host greeted us as we came in out of the cold. The restaurant has a darker feel but adequate lighting to see your food. We were given cucumber water in soda can shaped glasses & promptly placed our drink orders - a 9oz Prosecco (delicious) & can of Poor Farmer hard cider from Missoula (also delicious). Our server was very sweet & made great recommendations! Entrees were bison meatloaf, served with peas, mushrooms & mashed potatoes, as well as the penne Italian sausage pasta. Both dishes were flavorful & fragrant, but the star was the bison. When in doubt, get this dish! We rounded our meal off with the peach cobbler (just okay - the lemon/huckleberry ice cream tasted more like vanilla) & coffee. When the bill came, I love that it was part of a small booklet where diners can leave comments - very unique! Lovely restaurant, energetic the later it became & a great cocktail menu! Good vibes! I sat at the bar here. The service started off great as it started off as a slow night for them. I ordered a cocktail on the light refreshing side and it hit the spot. The bartender was supper good! He knew his stuff. I ordered the Brussels sprouts and risotto for dinner off of the appetizer menu. As with the rating they were both four-star. I thought they were both very good but not incredible. I'd swing back here for a cocktail before dinner. As it got more and more busy service could not keep up, but that's sometimes expected. Cool place, and I recommend a visit to anyone not sure! read more

I love the option of reserving our table on Yelp. We had a reservation made and sitting at our table, all within 15 minutes! Our waiter did a fair job, he just wasn't personable. $120 later, I don't know if we will he returning in the near future. It was good, but not $100+ good. We started off with a 9oz glass of Conundrum wine for $16. It was delicious. Joel had a bloody mary (they do not offer a ceaser drink) and he said it was spicy, but flavorless. Note to self, do not order again. Salads are not included with our entrees, and therefore we had to purchase our own. Joel got the wedge which was tasty, especially the pork belly. I ordered the mushroom risotto. It was good, but very very rich. I could only eat about a 1/4 of the appetizer. Entrees included the sausage penne (great choice on Joel's part!) Decent portion size and very flavorful. I had the salmon. The fillet itself was wonderful, but it was served with an entire can of beans. I did not care for them at all. I wouldn't get this entree again if it came with beans. Dessert was overall the best and worth the $10. We shared the nutella bomb. read more

The reviews are what made us want to try this spot out. But what we got was collectively "meh." The Benedict didn't come out as described on the menu - no bacon, the shrimp was very bland, and the English muffin stale and not toasted. The coffee was bitter. The Sunday gravy was quite tasty, however. The mimosa was flat. The pictures on the wall of the menu items look amazing and I'd want to try again to see if it was just an off day in the kitchen or what. The decor is great ! The bar seems to have every liquor known to mankind, so maybe cocktails are more their gig. read more

Day 4 of our road trip and looking for fish and vegetables. The host at The Lark suggested Urban Kitchen. Great suggestion! Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. Dessert could not be skipped- we landed on the Dark Chocolate Nutella Bombe with ice cream. It was BOMB! Went here for an engagement dinner and it did not disappoint! Tyler and Caroline were amazing, giving us a very detailed rundown of the menu. Tyler recommended the Pork Chop and it was the best Pork Chop we ever had, perfectly cooked and flavored. The salmon was excellent. Had an amazing experience here tonight. Came here for my birth day dinner with my fiancé and 2 kids. Food was INCREDIBLE, service was amazing. Our server was so great and super friendly it definitely ended up being a pretty pricey trip. Not pictured is the crispy pork belly appetizer we got which was really good just expensive for the portion you get. I got the pasta which was a little strong with Parmesan but otherwise amazing. My husband got the ribeye and said the potatoes were the best part for the price the steak could've been better. We are on vacation in Bozeman for 7 nights and we decided we were going to eat at a different restaurant every night. Tonight we tried Urban Kitchen. We had a starter of crispy brussel sprouts with carrots. Very fresh and it had a lovely sauce sprinkled on it. For dinner I had the brick chicken and my wife had the Montana grilled pork chop. Both meals tasted great and you won't be hungry leaving here. For dessert we shared a Nutella bomb. Everything at this restaurant is made in-house and the food is made fresh and locally sourced. Established in 2017.

Chefs Megan and Joe Romano have opened over 150 restaurants together during their careers in New York City and Las Vegas (4 Michelin). Moving to Bozeman to raise their family and enjoy all that Montana has to offer while offering a world-class dining experience.

Meet the Business Owner: Joseph R.

Joe Romano is a classically trained chef yet like so many before him, Joe's first mentors were the women in his boisterous Sicilian family, his mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Following an exciting run as a player on the US soccer team in Amsterdam, Joe followed his true passion and embarked on another journey at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park NY. Most notably he worked for Chef Antoine Bouterin, Chef Charlie Palmer and enjoyed a four month cross-country stage working for the country's best chefs.

Went in to the restaurant last night for a cocktail with my boyfriend, not one person said hello or even one word to us. We sat at the bar for over 5 minutes before being acknowledged. When we were, my boyfriend said hello and asked how the staff member was, and was greeted with absolute silence and an ipad got left with no word in front of us. We looked at the menu and sat for another five minutes...still...not one word was spoken to us by a staff member. We decided our money was best spent elsewhere. When we got up to leave, three employees looked at us but didn't say a word - not even a, have a good night! Won't be coming back as this is the second time this has happened. One wish, leave the bottle of wine on the table. I realize our table was small but we could manage. I could understand potential bottle tip over from rustic, poor joinery table top. Table top, needs reworking... should be flatter, poor joinery, ask for a rework from craftsman. ( This is coming from a profession furniture, cabinet maker.) Im giving Urban Kitchen a 3.5. The only down side to this review is the pricing and when I asked where they source their ingredients it was not anywhere close. I find it strange that they are serving corn in early spring. This is a restaurant that is only in it for the money and not the purity of the dish. The steak that we had was good but a little over salted. Apps were decent but nothing to write home about. Pretty expensive in my opionion. Service was attentive which but not knowledgeable. Will be back to try it out again. read more

The menu options are amazing and the food taste fantastic. The employees are extremely nice and helpful with the menu, I really recommend this place. read more
