I went next door and was able to ask some nice ladies to move down a seat for us. The bartenders were attentive with the steady traffic. Food: I ordered the Whiskey Cider which was strong and good! One down side is it was served in a glass and the drink was burning hot. I need to wrap a napkin over it so I wouldn't burn my hand. My next drink was the classic Hot Toddy which was boozy and sour. I came in Dec 2024 to check out the holiday decor. With a reservation, I waited 34 minutes to be seated and the crowds were insane mixed with people who did and didn't have a reservation. The food was nothing to rave home about. My friend & I ordered soups which were barely hot and watered down and the brisket was also plain along with the brisket dip which was mostly just cheese & oil. I think they only do drinks well because the hot chocolate flight (non alcoholic) was great! There was no lobster in the bisque and the empanadas were hot on the outside but the meat inside was cold. I had the shrimp and corn chowder and the buffalo chicken dip. The chowder was great the dip... not so much. It was gritty and the chicken in it tasted like frozen chunks, it was awful. While the waitress was nice, it took her a long while to check on us after the food was delivered. At that point we just gave the empanadas back. I would have liked to give the dip back but we were hungry and just ate bites of it. I spent over 80 bucks for should have probably been no more than 40 and the 1drink and bisque cost my friend 40 bucks. Our party had a couple s'mores espresso martinis, a peppermint espresso martini, and a hot chocolate sampler. All were somewhat unique, but just ok. Definitely not worth the $20 each cost. My wife also got the Campfire Hot Cocoa, which again, was ok. We also had three appetizers: the beef brisket dip, guac and chips, and halloumi. The beef brisket dip is way more queso/cheese and not much brisket. Average at best. The guac and halloumi were both good. Service, again, just ok. I was in town for work and decided to meet a friend for late dinner here! The ambiance is super cool inside, with all kinds of decorations. When I came, it was around Lunar New Year, so there were lots of red decorations everywhere and great photo ops. There was also a corporate happy hour happening so seems like a good spot for events as well. I decided to get the pork shoulder + a side of asparagus as well as a hot chocolate (my friend had RAVED about their hot chocolate bar). Unfortunately we couldn't do the smores as it was a little late. The food was served fairly quickly and I liked my pork shoulder and mashed potatoes! The glaze on top was delicious and the pork was very tender. The asparagus was a little stringy but good flavor. The hot chocolate was absolutely delicious and rich and velvety. For food, we got the charcuterie board, halloumi, gyro and apple/pecan salad. Of all of these items I would rank them in the following from best to worst. Charcuterie, gyro, halloumi, salad. Charcuterie is just putting things on a board, so kind of hard to mess up. My friend who had the gyro said it tasted fresh, she enjoyed it. The décor and ambiance totally matched the theme -- "A FLORAL FIESTA FOR 46" -- as everything, from ceiling to floor and everything in between, was draped in flowers and floral prints galore. This was possibly the worst restaurant experience we've had in DC. We came for valentines and the resturant was overbooked and underprepared. Reservation was at 6:30 and not seated until after 7. No menus or QR codes available so we looked it up online. We placed our app + dinner entrees at the same time, anticipating that they'd likely be slower with food than usual (which is ok, valentines is a busy night!). By 8:30, still no food for a 6:30 reservation. We asked the waitress to check, and she was great! She checked on the food, apologized, and brought out the apps. We got the chips + guac and the French fries. Fries were cold, guac had no flavor, chips had no salt. By 9pm, we had to go. We canceled our entrees and left. To their credit, the interior is decorated in a really cool and unique way. Our waitress was very sweet. It's probably a fun bar, but as a restaurant it falls way short. So, I went for my friends birthday on Sunday 2/15/26. Yes, I understand that it's right after Valentine's Day.. They were still using their Vday menu and also offered you the regular menu. The food was premade and cold and served to us like it was on the kids menu . The drinks were expensive and weak .. they food was low quality. Buffalo Chicken Dip Nothing more than the canned chicken recipe that is off of the back of the Franks Red Hot bottle. It was good for what it was, I expected them to have their own spin on this dip. All the surrounding tables that were seated after us got their alcoholic drinks and apps long before us, even though they ordered long after us. When we brought it up to the waitress she then ordered all of our items and they came out all at one time. Not ideal, nor do the tables have space for it. The soda I ordered I had to request again and that wasn't brought until the meal arrived. After we said we didn't want anymore, since they use electronic table side payment we thought she would've brought up the check. She left and we didn't see her for a while, we had to ask another waitress to get ours. The bill still had errors which she should I've fixed before to allow another waitress to check us out. We finally asked for the manager and the waitress said she was the manager. After we reported to her as the manager and after getting 3 incorrect bills, she did provide a discount. I was appreciative, more forethought would have been better for the amount of mistakes. Ambiance You're really coming for the drinks and the decorations. What a fun bar! We had a big group of 16 people and they were still able to accommodate us. While it seems like a very intimate bar (with great decorations), they actually have multiple areas and can take groups of all sizes. The thing that stuck out most to me were the large variety of boards they have. They had boards for waffles, desserts, cheeses, fruits, and so many more, and this was the perfect place for us to snack before our show. I made a reservation at Urban Roast in Chinatown for Christmas dinner, expecting a pleasant holiday experience. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Despite arriving on time for our reservation, we were not seated until over an hour later. Once seated, the issues immediately continued. Our table was dirty and wobbly, and my friend's silverware was visibly dirty, which was off-putting. I ordered a hot chocolate, which was fine, but it tasted like the regular mix from the grocery store. I don't think it was worth the $15 I paid. When it was time to order food, our server forgot to put our orders in entirely, resulting in another hour of waiting for our meals. When my entrée finally arrived, the chicken salad was completely inedible. I could not eat it and had to send it back. My friend was also unhappy with her food. At that point, we had already waited so long and were very disappointed, so I decided not to order anything else. I noticed that other patrons who arrived after us were seated, received their meals promptly, and finished eating before we were even served, which shows that the delays we experienced were not simply due to it being a busy holiday night. It was a service failure on their end. What made the experience even worse was that while we were seated, an employee sprayed a nearby table very close to us with cleaning solution. We both smelled strong chemical fumes and felt a splash, as if the solution had gotten on us. Shortly after, another employee came and sprayed that same table again. This was incredibly uncomfortable and felt unsafe, especially because we were sitting very close to the table they sprayed. To add to the frustration, our server took a long time to bring us the bill, prolonging an already unpleasant experience. In the end, I did not get to eat any dinner at all and had to go somewhere else to find food. The only positives were the Christmas decor and the company I was with. Otherwise, this was a very disappointing and extremely poorly managed experience, especially for a holiday evening with a reservation. I was really excited to check this place out after following them on IG for a while. I recently visited DC, so I made a reservation to check out Urban Roast on a Saturday evening. I highly suggest making a reservation prior to going. The night we went, there was an outdoor festival happening on the street where Urban Roast is, so it was a nightmare trying to get there. Once we arrived, there was no one at the front, so we just stood there for a while. We were seated about 20 min later (!!) and we just came for drinks. My date and I ordered drinks and both of them were wayyyy too sweet. They were pretty but I could not finish it. The bathrooms were dirty also. This place is definitely "instagrammable" but I'm not sure it's worth the money if the drinks aren't edible. I did give 3 stars because our waitress was nice and the decorations are fun. read more

My husband didnt go to tge nathroom because he didnt want to touch the women chairs behind us. It was so tight. The owners did not put any thought into how this place would function logistically at all. Food: We ordered a share plate. Bacon Ranch dip. It was served in a sour dough bread cut out in the middle filled with the dip. I didnt want to try anything else. Drinks: We got the espresso martini flight which $44 served in these little shot style glasses. Total waste of money compared to flights ive had elsewhere. The drink menu for cocktails were standard for downtown DC $15-$22. We chose not to order any other drinks as we were thrown off by the flight sizes. Ill say this.
