(Review update based on 3.5 stars) I came back to this post office last week because I wanted to purchase wedding stamps before the new price increase of stamps takes into effect (January 22 it will now be $0.45 to mail out letters). Well I came in here wanting to purchase 100 love stamps. But the post office worker helping me, Adriana, asked if they were for a wedding. After I said it is for my wedding, she told me I should buy the speacial wedding stamps. She did not have any left in her drawer but the women, Linda, next to her had it. When I was about ready to purchase these, Adriana asked how many $0.64 stamps do I need. I thougt I would just have both my invitations and RSVP cards would have forever stamps. But she said often times invitations are $0.64. She suggested that I bring in my invitation and weigh it. So I told her I would come in tomorrow. So she saved the last 100 forever wedding stamps for me and asked Linda to hold on to it because she will not be working in the afternoon. The next day I came back, I was actually waited on by Linda. When I told her I was here yesterday for my wedding stamps, she remembered immediately who I was. She weighed my invitations and said it was just fine for the forever stamps. But because of this bow I had on my invitations, it added a 1/4 of an inch thickness of the invitation and so I would have to use the $0.64. I asked her if I could flatten the bow and she said that could work. Since I did not seal my invitations, she just took out the first card and she undid the bow for me and just loosely tied back the bow. The bow still looked very nice and I was now able to use the forever stamps for my invitations. This helped save me an extra $20! And well saving a little money here and there adds up and is a huge help to my tight wedding budget. I was really grateful for these 2 employees help. I was told later that another woman came in earlier that day and asked for the same forever wedding stamps but they told her they were all out. I was lucky for them to save these stamps for me, especially sInce they did not know I would come back there or not. 5 stars for these 2 employees (but the 3.5 for the overall experience I've had with this post office in general) read more

Worst customer service! I went up to a worker (after she finished with a customer) to ask if they have a Priority Mail box that was not flat rate. I searched their shelves twice and only found the flat rate ones, which I didn't need. She basically dismissed me so that I would have to stand in line - to find out whether there is a box or not. To this worker, I highly suggest the following: 1) it's ok to get off your seat once in a while to do your job or 2) you can let them know whether you have the supplies in stock or not. She could've easily told me and I would have waited if it was indeed available. But this worker would rather have people stand in line (and add to the long queue) so they could eventually find out (10-15 mins later?) whether the supplies are available or not. If only they would replenish their shelves (like other well-managed post office locations out there) so customers don't have to ask or at least be amenable to customer inquiries. Maybe this worker thinks her time is more precious than mine (or yours). read more

Virginia at the post office is one of the reasons why I enjoy coming to this post office. She is always very helpful and is extremely knowledgeable about the procedures of the post office. When I had to get a passport, she always gives the correct information and as always does it with a smile. When I have an issue with lost packages I know I can have her track it and give me good advice on what to do next! read more

To those who like to use "Federal agency" and "government worker" as epithets--I recommend you pay a visit to the Duarte USPO. I've been living in Duarte for over half a year, using this post office at least twice a week at random times, and have, each and every time, enjoyed courteous, competent, helpful, and friendly service. I've been living in Duarte for 2 years. The postal employees' dispositions are warm and amiable. All of them exemplify customer courtesy at all times especially Virginia, Adriana, and William. They should be highly commended for their exceptional service. A customer couldn't ask for better service. I have been to quite a few post offices in Los Angeles County, one thing I've observed: some postal clerks were short patient with customers, especially if the facility was in a large city (i.e. Los Angeles). read more

Best post office I've ever been to! Always great customer service! The ladies are very knowledgeable on all postal services. Everyone is friendly and efficient. No long lines, no long wait. When there is a line, they are quick and efficient, all while remaining pleasant. I love this Post Office!! I live in Pasadena and used to the tart service USPS offers, and not to mention, super long lines! The service was friendly and the lady who helped me was kind enough to offer me all of the options available for my package. Best group of ladies I've ever come across in the US postal service! They always have a good attitude and great sense of humor, no matter what. This is my favorite office because everyone seems to mesh well as a team. I live out of the area but do try to come out here when time permits. This location has ample, safe parking and several drive thru post boxes. read more

I walked in to drop off two devices and a representative by the name of Lorena was being very rude and upset at the fact that I had questions , the devices needed to be tapped and she said that she could only provide priority tape and I would have to change my label and pay for shipping ,I explained In that in the past they have been nice enough to provided it , she processed to claim that due to budget cut she only has priority tape (and I could understand that ) but her attitude and tone of voice was very rude she proceeds to say I can Purchase tape and in sarcastic voice said "I guess everyone is having a bad day " let me remind you there was a man before me who had questions in regards to a package and she had a very nasty attitude towards him as well , since I didn't have my debit card with me I asked her to give me a second ,she scans the device even after I told her to give me a sec cause I was going to the car to check for debit card , since I didn't have a debit to pay for my tape I went back to get the devices and she i unscans them said I would have to pay for another shipping g label , at this point I'm upset she's just trying to get everyone out I told her she's being very rude , a man come in I asked to speak to the manager and he says he's the manager and I would have to leave ,no sense of emotional intelligence, I was trying to explain the situation to him he was being very dismissive and was not helping in any way , as I asked for someone above him he proceeded to say you can call 1800-postoffice . They have really bad customer service if they would just cooperate and be more polite their would be no need for back and forward . They need better skills with dealing with the public , just because you're having a bad day does not mean you can go around being rude to people remind you , we don't know what you know so we're going to have questions . read more

I used the Duarte post office for their Passport services. This is my first passport ( for me and my son). Man let me tell you when I called cause Inhad lots of questions, everyone I spoke to was so nice, so helpful. If they didn't have the answer they looked for it or let it be known they were not sure. But they know what their doing. I had an appointment and when I got there I messed up the forms but they were so kind and guided me the best they could with the post office being busy. You can get it all done there too. I mean everything. The experience was great. I had issues because I was going to be moving soon, they put me to ease and let me know that it could be done. I came to drop off prepaid express packages that had EXPRESS stickers on them. The lady, we'll call her lady1 (sorry didn't get her name), rudely said "you have to fill out the express forms behind you" while she was helping someone else I indicted it was prepaid. "Oh, prepaid for express?!?!" "Yes" So it's not my turn and I get lady2, she's nice and scans my packages. I asked her what the cut off time is for express Lady1 butts in and says "make sure she paid for express" "She did" "Double check the weight" "I did" "Did she fill everything out correctly" All while I'm standing there and the couple lady2 are just left in limbo because apparently we don't exist I said, "yes I filled everything out properly, I ship express packages every day" Her response well I help ship everyday Like a child, who does that!!?!? I was just like ok, have a great day And walked out of the place. Rude, immature, unprofessional and a pain to work with I can imagine. Stop butting into other people's conversations and help whoever you're helping. Lady2 has helped me plenty of times and knows what she's doing. read more

The ladies at this location make the chore of going to the post office almost painless. They crack jokes and give helpful mailing advice. Adriana noticed I was sending in my passport application and told me I'd probably get it back in a couple weeks and not the 4-6 that was estimated. True enough, I got it in a couple weeks. read more

There's one that works there with an attitude and started a political discussion which I wanted no part of; was extremely rude, etc. I filed a complaint with the postal service and really doubt if anything was done. The lady then refused service to me and gave me dirty looks. I filed a second complaint. After that she waited on me.,,. no eye contact and said nothing. Now they are gloating about their gift cards for superb service so I doubt if anything was ever done even though they encourage feedback about their service. UPS forwarded my package to "Local Post office". I live in Duarte but I called Monrovia first just to make sure that they didn't have it and they said no, as expected. So my next was to try Duarte. Although they answered promptly the person who answered the phone was very short. They immediately told me that it was not there. Didn't ask for a name, address, or anything. And told me to call Monrovia. I tried telling them I already did but they kept speaking over me. I understand that their procedures may be different there but there was no attempt to further assist me on their part whatsoever. read more

Lived in Duarte all my life, so this has been my go-to post office for the last 25 years. The staff is friendly and helpful and knowledgeable, and generally gets mail pieces out very quickly and efficiently (both in that they send things out quickly and get them delivered to you quickly as well!) I've had to send things out from other nearby post offices and they're SO much slower about it... so A+ to Duarte USPS for all their hard work! read more

Love the fact that this post office has two way drive by post office box and it makes it lot easier to go in and out. The clerk also much nicer compared to some other post office. Can't expect much customer service especially in a bigger PO, just like DMV, but this one one actually quite efficient. read more
