I came in on a weekday about 45 minutes before closing; there were only 1-2 other customers present. The clerk was professional and pleasant; no bad attitude like I've experienced at other post offices. She asked the standard questions like if I wanted any tracking and told me how much it costed (~$7). I simply said no and she just said "ok", went through with the basic transaction and said that it would arrive in a few days. Simple, easy, quick. read more

Haven't had a bad experience here. Staff have always been friendly. Sometimes the line can move a bit slow but that's also bc the customers have to ask the same dumb questions over and over again. There's a self service machine to the left of the entry way and it's not visible when you enter so most people head to the clerks. If you want to avoid the line then use the self service machine. Very small post office and congested parking area. I try to avoid coming here. Service is very slow regardless of time of day. I do like the outdoor drive by mail slots so I don't have to go inside. read more

Usually I'd give this place a one star due to poor customer service. I've been to this location multiple times and every single time, I've always encountered employees who had a rude attitude. Today was different, the sweet lady, April, was able to cheerfully help me ship my package out. It was a nice change from the usual cold attitude from the employees here. read more

I use this post office quite often and quite often my packages never reach their destination. I've confronted the indian woman at the front many times and she likes to tell me it's my fault and informs me about my online business? Very rude staff. read more

2.5 Stars would probably be more accurate. This is the post office I grew up going to in near my hometown. I haven't been here in years but I went today to drop off some Poshmark sales since I was in the area. Their regular drop-off bin was full so I took it to the counter. The man working there said that I'm not supposed to be dropping off my packages at that location since I had a pre-paid label from a different zip code, that makes sense but I didn't think of that beforehand. He was nice enough to take my packages anyway. There's not a lot of parking and it's hard to go in and out of the lot. The San Ramon post office is much larger and easier to access. read more

All I needed to do was pick up a package. Got there at 5:00 pm on the dot; and they closed the door on my face. They said I needed to come back the next day. Really annoying, but I guess that's just how it is with USPS...came back the next day, my gosh the service is really bad! It's as though these people hate their jobs. read more

Is that I blocked away thinking this is a great place I want to come back it usually the place that you don't want to go to but you have to go to. This was the last straw. I went to the post office today. The lady trying to help me was condescending. I had to get into line twice, once because I had to fill out additional paperwork (this I can understand), but the second time when I went back into line she said she could not process international shipping so I had to wait in line behind another post office worker who was already helping someone else process their packages that took forever. I was so upset I decided to send my important paperwork NOT through the Dublin post office. I have been living in Dublin for almost 24 years, and this is the last straw with this post office. Going forward, I will be going to the Pleasanton Post Office instead. read more

I was working on getting rid of some books and an old co-worker in Phoenix replied to my Facebook post asking if anyone wanted the "Sweet Valley High" series from the 80's. She had recently had a baby so I decided to not only send these books to her but to send a sweet little bunny book that my daughter had long out grown as well. Since I didn't want to pay a fortune on shipping, I decided to use the "book rate" at the Post Office and this happened to be the one I stopped at one day as I was out doing errands. I hit this place up around 1:50pm and thought I would have plenty of time to pick my daughter up by 2:30pm at her school since it wasn't terribly far away. When I walked inside, I noticed the line was LONG. I mean, strangely LONG for a non-holiday type visit to the PO. I waited for what seemed like forever and though there were 3 clerks working in this run down dingy office, none of them were fast or efficient. Once it was my turn, I was able to ask for "book rate" paid my $2.50 and was told it would take up to 10 days which was fine. I left the parking lot at 2:20pm and luckily for texting was able to tell my daughter I would be a few minutes late on getting her. I would only come to this PO out of pure necessity and not choice in the future. One bonus, the books arrived some 4 days later and not the 10 I was quoted. read more

They just lost one star today. You have got to be effing kidding me. I am a strong supporter of USPS but there is a damn line you do not cross. Today was absolutely that line. When you read the countless people here saying the same thing: slow (not just regular post office slow, like REALLY slow...lines on random days not even near the holidays), mess things up, generally careless, etc. HEED THE WARNINGS! I have come to this post office several times and I ship for my business. I KNOW like the back of my hand the prices per ounce on standard shipping rates (above 13 ounces just go for a flat rate!) Soooooo, how surprised was I when the woman tells me my total was 13 EFFING DOLLARS FOR TWO PACKAGES? One that was 4 OUNCES and the other 6 OUNCES. Like WTF did you just do? She gave me priority mail though I did not ask for it! AND when I tell that is not what I wanted she said that it's in the system and get this SHE CANT GIVE ME MY PACKAGES BACK AND I MUST PAY. For everyone's sake I ended up paying the horrendous fees (packages going to oakland for F's sake) and leaving pissed off. Got home and guess what?! Says that one of my packages is going to EMERYVILLE! WOW. read more

Truly some of the most surly postal workers I've ever seen. I've seen a lot of unhappy government employees, and this place really stands out as miserable. I'm sorry they are so unhappy. It makes everybody who comes in unhappy too. A woman who was obviously in the military (name on clothes, kick ass boots, the usual military camo uniform) came in to mail hair gel to somebody serving overseas. I know this because she said what was in it (she didn't see the previous Yelp review, by Kelly), the postal clerk reviewed the contents, and it had some petroleum product in it. The packaging said, "keep away from open flame." The postal worker refused to mail it saying, "We have to go by the Federal Aviation standards." The woman said, "I doubt you are going to expose it to open flame, it is just a product use warning, it isn't going to explode, and I've mailed it before" (or something to that effect) and the postal worker flat out refused to mail it. She said something like, "If you were taking this on a plane you could only take 2 oz, so we can't mail it." Right....so you can take 2 oz (I think it's 3 oz, actually) of a flammable dangerous material, like hair gel, on a plane, or even put the whole damn jar in your luggage at check-in, but you can't mail it in a sealed container that will sit in the cargo hold. Okey dokey. I didn't wait long, but it was amazing seeing how each person somehow didn't get their needs totally met. I use the Automated Postal Center a lot, because I do media mail frequently, and I find that to be a more humane way of interacting with the postal service. The machine isn't grouchy. If you ever need media mail stamps, you can buy any denomination postage sticker at the APC, and if you buy them there and then mail your book or package, the 13 oz rule doesn't apply. I think I'll order my stamps through the mail from now. read more

The majority of the clerks are pretty helpful and friendly. But if you ever get Rosa, be ready to have all your joy sucked out of life. She's grumpy, irritable, unhelpful, and just plain looks like she doesn't want to be there. The first time I had the misfortune of having her help me, I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. But when my next few experiences were as terrible and painful, I realized she's just a miserable person in general. People like her should not be in any sort of customer facing position. read more

All I wanted to do was send out express mail. There was literally no line, yet one of the front staff members continuously sent me to the side to fill out a slip of paper. Since I had never filled out the slip before, I asked him what I needed to fill out, but he completely disregarded my question and sent me to the side. Uhh, hello?? There are no other customers to help. Why can't you help me? On top of that, he scolds me for not knowing that I have to fill out the slip in order to send out express mail. Well if I knew what I needed to do, I wouldn't ask for your help, right? Jeez. read more

Tips for mailing: 1) Lie. (If you have something perishible or liquid and it's not something you're worried about, just pretend it's not in the package. This first tip is mom approved, my mom that is.) 2) Bypass the extra insurance and expensive shipping. (Priority shipping works just fine and gets there within a couple days and the regular air, if there is no rush gets there in about four days, even outside of CA). 3) Bring your patience, especially for this location. I had to come here since they couldn't redeliver my package since the packages are here in Dublin and the mailmen are in San Ramon. And the service... Still crappy. Yes, going to the post office sucks. The last time I went here they had a line even at 2:30 pm, past the lunch rush. At least the line moves OK most days and the people at the desk are decent at doing their jobs. Who knows, it may deserve more of a 3 stars, but there is something about the Post Office experience or building itself that says blah. Don't ask me why there seems to be more of a line at the Post Office vs. FedEx or UPS. At least I can get stamps when I go to the Post Office. read more

I don't get why this place has such bad reviews, my experience has always been pleasant at this location, even when the line is long the people working at the counter work quite efficiently and your numbers up pretty soon! The best part is that I have never seen them be rude to anyone, they always greet you with a smile and quickly help you. This place is really small and the line can get long really fast!!! What people usually don't know is that the kiosk on the side can pretty much do everything!! The people there aren't nice or friendly and it gets annoying when your standing in line forever!! Make sure to use the kiosk it's usually open with no one there!!! read more

Simply the worst in the 925. Where are your flat rate boxes? Oh yeah you NEVER have any. Does anyone under 76 years old work here? Nope! Do your automated postage machines work? Not if you're paying with a credit/debit card (which is the only way to use it) Terrible. I hope this place gets closed and every one is "inconvenienced" by going to Pleasanton or San Ramon. Trust me, they'll be doing you a favor. I would rather go to Ups and pay through my ass than ever go back into this nightmare of a government run place. read more

Slow. So So Slow. They also run out box sizes sometimes. Lucky for me they had one left in the back for the size I needed, and were nice about it, too. In my experience the staff is quite nice, and I don't think it's their fault that the process takes that long, at least not all the time. It's. Just. Slow. There is more parking in the back. This one is the most efficient post office I have ever meet. They are doing the work in order to reduce length of the line even though they always have a line because this is the only one post office in the city of Dublin. The new young lady and the gentle men pick up/drop off window are always friendly and so helpful. They never lost a single one of my packages in their hand so you don't need ask for a scanning receipt when hand your packages to them. Wonderful! read more

I wonder if this is there way of getting everyone to go paperless... or are these people the "Him an Ha people in "Who Moved my Cheese"? This was my "home' PO for awhile. I am a big supporter of the USPS, and it was minutes from where I used to live. But, for the following reasons, I drove the distance to the Pleasanton location instead. *S-L-O-W. Even with all three windows open, there is NO sense of urgency. The line is ALWAYS long. Its so annoying. *Messy, dirty- does anyone clean in here? *One day I was FOURTH in line and it took 20+ MIN for me to get to the window. Suffice to say, I was irked and not in the mood for small talk. The lady at the window got mad I didn't make conversation back and basically started giving me attitude..*under her breath "well, its not my fault you're pissy.." "geez, can't even say hi back..."- WTF, uh YES it IS your fault I'm pissy. Move Faster! RUDE! *Did I mention how slow they were? *Vacation mail hold- I went to pick it up and it wasn't there. I get TONS of mail and yet another lady was rude, telling me I must have messed up the dates...? Dude! They sent me to TWO different post offices, and finally I located my mail at the main offices on Alcosta (where the guy THERE proceeded to try and tell me how vacation holds work. Whatever- its not like I don't do it 5+ times a year and its NOT rocket science. Grrr) *SLOW. Positives? *There are two drive-up drop-off "lanes". Yay, Advice- just go to the Pleasanton location. The knocks against this branch are largely misguided. As another reviewer mentioned, I've used the Dublin Post Office to mail tens of thousands of individual packages, both boxed and bagged. I'm an organized person, and always have my bins pre-sorted into First, Priority, Express and Intl. They've yet to lose or mangle a single package. (knock on wood) If you lead with a smile, and end with a very simple, "thank you," it's amazing what you'll get in return. I have, however, on many occasions, seen people become argumentative over the prices of postage and shipping restrictions, something none of these folks manage. If you want pure comedy, come in and watch people use the self-service station. The system does its best to guide you through the complicated world of postage and shipping, but no matter how hard the "machine" tries, I've seen people argue with it and ask for custom postage amounts (nope, ask... using their voice). It's the customers folks, not the staff. They do the best with the system in place. read more

I swear I posted about this before! Hole in the wall post office with confusing ingress and egress. One Vietnamese woman was too lazy to even give me a receipt for a prepaid box I was sending back despite giving me one the previous week. She said that they won't give receipt unless you're paying for postage. I made a big deal about it and no one even bothered to help diffuse the situation. read more

I can't understand why the employees at this location are so rude, specially the older lady with short hair. I just witnessed her dealing with a young immigrant girl who was shipping a book via media email. She opened her package to make sure it's a book, and the book was gift wrapped and she was trying to open it, but you could clearly tell it's a book. Then she asked her "what kind of book is it?" Which she has no right asking her that question. It was very heartbreaking seeing how she treated this young girl who spoke very nice English and was extremely polite with her. I think someone needs to train them and teach them the meaning of Service in the USPS or change the name to USP read more

This is for their entire service including/mainly delivery. In the 6 months since moving to Dublin, we have had 2 lost packages (not because someone stole them) and received numerous wrong address envelopes in our mailbox. Prior to living in Dublin, we have never had a lost package and maybe got the wrong mail once in 3 years. Just the other day, I have a package coming, something small enough to fit in our mailbox or at least the larger box right next to it. I find out that they dropped it off at the leasing center, which is closed by the time I get home. read more

Why, oh, why did I ever leave Castro Valley? This post office makes me reminisce about the old post office on Santa Maria Avenue -- long lines for window service, a parking lot two-sizes-too-small (despite an expansion into what used to be the employees' parking lot), a drop-off box at the parking lot exit that bottlenecks exiting patrons, and old-fashioned vending machines (although they do dispense gold silver dollars as change). But you can still buy stamps, wire money, and mail a package if you can spare the time, disproving Thomas Wolfe's axiom. read more

When did this location become a franchise, and have dif US Postal Rules...Went in, and literally came back out in less than 5 mins on a Saturday. I had to send out a letter that already had a prepaid envelope, and had my son wait in line, while I went to get a Certified Mailing Label. The asian lady with her clipboard for whatever the "F" she was doing told me that I can't request service for that envelope, and would have to purchase one of theirs! Umm since when??? Told her Danville, or Pleasanton never had a problem! She then said different rules at different locations! Whatevs!!! So I left, and said never again! So instead, of driving to another location, since I needed it mailed like yesterday, instead I just fax'd it! So don't have to worry, or be PO'd if another location decides to change their rule on me! Which I probably should've done in the 1st place...I mean I did try to give money, and a job to do, but they make it so inconvenient that it forces you to do it another way with technology. read more
