**America is still alive!!!** I had the absolute best customer service experience in at least the past 5 years at the San Ramon USPS Post Office - hands down the most outstanding and stupendous service I've ever received from any business. During the chaotic Christmas week, a delivery attempt was made to my closed office on Christmas Eve (Wednesday). With Thursday being Christmas Day, I waited until the next business days - Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th - but there was no sign of my package. After calling USPS customer service, I was told it should be at the San Ramon location. I went in and explained the situation to an older African-American clerk (I regrettably forgot her name). She was incredibly patient and helpful from the start. When the package couldn't be found initially and I mentioned how important it was - a discontinued, very expensive product - she went completely above and beyond. She searched multiple areas thoroughly and even escalated it to the supervisor. It turned out there was a scanning issue after the Christmas Eve attempt; the package hadn't been properly logged back into the facility or was still on a truck. They took my contact info and promised to call. Just 10-15 minutes later, while I was driving home, I got a call from Supervisor Will - he had the package in hand! Even though the post office was closing, they invited me to come right back so I could pick it up that day. This level of dedication and genuine care simply doesn't exist much anymore. They turned a stressful holiday mishap into a complete turnaround, saving my Christmas week entirely. I can't express enough gratitude to the wonderful clerk and Supervisor Will - you restored my faith in people. I am writing this to mention that the San Ramon USPS office went above and beyond to get back to me: a package their mail delivery agent had initially misplaced. I was to get a set of important documents last evening, the tracking site said it was delivered, but it was not in my mailbox. I went to the USPS office, supervisor Cook tracked the package down, it had been delivered to the wrong address, and waited back at the office post regular times and called me and waited till I came and picked up the package. I've been here numerous times to drop off my packages, most times to drop off at the open window for the already weighed and stamped, so its usually quick in and out for me. But for the times i do have to wait in line, the postal clerks i've encountered have been friendly and helpful. They're working as quickly as they can to service our needs. I like this post office because it has 3 self serve kiosks. Two are inside the postal customer service desk area and the 3rd one is out by the PO Box area. I believe that one is a 24/7 kiosk according to the usps website. This location is quite spacious which I like and when I dropped in during lunch hour, it was not crowded which I was thankful for. The place feels more modern and clean compared to some of the other tri-valley post offices. Plenty of parking and it is located just down the street on crow canyon past the library and where Sprouts shopping center is. I would definitely stop by this post office if in the area for my mailing needs. read more

Just saw our postman walk past our house, he had our mail. Instead of delivering it, he decided to leave it on our neighbors front lawn, thank goodness our neighbors across the street saw it and brought it to our house. What the heck! read more

I generally don't expect exceptional service from postal office, but my experience at this location, particularly with a "Karen", I think shes the manager with long curly blonde hair was especially disappointing. I came to drop off a return for Mango, following their instructions to bring the item to this designated return point. I assumed the process would be similar to UPS, where staff assist with label printing and shipping. One of the other employees, a very helpful gentleman always guided me through using the machine, helped me print the label, seal the box, and even gave me a receipt. He was great. In contrast, this "Karen" was completely unhelpful. When I brought the package to her, she simply told me to "put it on the box" and "bring it over there." I explained that the box wasn't sealed yet and asked if she could help. She told me I could purchase tape if I needed it. I explained that the box was intentionally left unsealed per Mango's return instructions, so the items could be verified. Her response: "We don't check anything." She also said they don't help with sealing boxes because "people take advantage" of them. I honestly don't understand how someone using a bit of tape is considered taking advantage. If I'd known I'd get no assistance here, I would've sealed it at home and saved myself the time and hassle of waiting in line. The postal workers behind the counter work as quickly as possible, and are very knowledgeable about mailing things and offer the latest stamps if you'd like to get some. They get busy at times, but they keep up in a pretty good pace! read more

Can I just not give them even 1 star?! I applied my first passport at this location 4 months ago! Yes I expedited the case and now it's 4 months!!! Nothing updated online, I did everything that you can imagine where I can check my status. Also I had attached my real neutralization certificate wt the package too!!! I called to this facility so many times (the number that shows in Yelp and the number for the passport service) so many times here which means the whole afternoon (1-5pm)... no one picks up. The situation forces me to go check it out myself what's really happen to my package. Ps. I am in a complicated situation regarding renewing a passport. The website on USPS doesn't help. I drive down in person to ask questions so that I can do it correctly. The man that works in the Passport office at USPS turned me away and told me to scan the QR code and look online. I've already done that and is still lost regarding my passport concerns. Had to renew my passport, so went to this San Ramon location to pick up the renewal form, the lady at the counter/register was very good told me what all i needed and wrote the fee amount on the form she told me complete every thing and bring it back they will mail it for me the mailing fee was reasonable, went home filled it up got my passport photos taken, and went back and the other customer service rep checked every thing was good,my wrist was injured so she stapled the photo for me, very helpful and amazing team, already received my new passport, Thanks to this USPS TEAM,People's comments on social media scare the heck out of people oh my god it takes so long, they will reject your application for stupid reasons and so on.I love the Dublin AND SAN RAMON USPS TEAM THEY ARE GREAT. read more

Regular day-to-day things are fine. Went to get a passport and they said their camera was broken. I got there hours early and all that time was wasted. They won't put up a sign on their door to tell others since it isn't an official sign. They don't care about anyone's time at all. I ship out many packages on a weekly basis and I'm shocked to see so many negative reviews. Every time that I come here, all the supplies that I need are fully stocked, and the staff are always super friendly. Yes, lines can be quite long but that's kind of what you have to account for when there are many people who go to the counter and need additional help. Even if the lines are long, I noticed that the community here doesn't use the self-serve machine much so that also saves me some time. Overall, this USPS gives me exactly when I need when I'm shipping things to customer. 5 stars from me. read more

Okay. Hear me out. Today I had a great visit to this location. We had an appointment for our passports for our kids and the staff that worked today (6-21-23) was exceptionally patient and kind in spite of the volume of customers which by the way went really fast for being a full house with only 3 employees (visible - 2 at counter and 1 handling passports). I want to particularly mention and highlight the gentleman (a gentle man at that) who was handling all the passport appointments. He was extremely kind and grade-A informative, professional and accommodating. These kind of appointments are already fairly stressful but he made it such a simple and easy process (despite our disorganization). He was kind and patient with each of us and each family that had an appointment. I didn't catch his name but I think this man deserves an award. Details for pricing for passports (currently) are as follows: Adult: $130 - passport book $190 - expedited + $19.53 - overnight $30 - passport card Child: $100 - passport book $160 - expedited + $19.53 - overnight $15 - passport card Also, an estimated $35.00 acceptance fee. Bring a checkbook or money order for the passport fees but the acceptance fee can be paid via credit or debit. *Make copies of your documents and bring originals as well as the copies for them to keep with the application but they do need to see the originals. ** Staff probably won't win the "Miss Congeniality" contest ** I have used this post office countless times. While not exceptionally friendly, I find the staff to be competent and reasonably efficient. They also have a pretty big facility that is open a decent number of hours. Generally, the line moves pretty quickly. They also sell a ton more shipping materials and cards nowadays than they used to. It is nicely displayed on the left side as you are waiting in line. Whenever possible, I use the self-service kiosk. You can do most transactions there, and it avoids waiting in line. I don't believe you can mail foreign packages there however. Keep in mind that the staff is programmed to try to sell you the most expensive options. It is not an accident that they always ask you if you want to mail something express mail. It is far more expensive than priority, and often not worth it in my opinion. Here's another magic tip. I guarantee you this staff will not tell you this: If you have a small package that is not very heavy, you can mail it first class. It will get there the same time as priority mail and it is a ton cheaper! Again, keep in mind the staff is not here to help you mail things cheaply. They are here to help you mail things expensively. As long as you keep that in mind, you will have a good experience--well, maybe not super good but tolerable. read more

Today, I walked into the post office to make sure that I had enough postage on my Valentine's Day cards because they felt a little heavy, and I didn't weigh them before hand. I walked in and patiently waited in line because they were busy at 10 AM on a Monday. When I was up next, the postal worker was very friendly, and answered all of my questions. I love that the United States Postal Service has the cheapest shipping rates in town. I found out today that I can mail a letter that is up to 1 ounce and weight for the price of one stamp. this is a really great value, especially for sending cards all over the United States for the same price and varying ranges of miles for the service. I had my toddler with me and she was very patient while I took out my credit card from my purse, while I was speaking to my toddler at the same time. Overall, it was a really good experience. I don't know why the other ratings are so low. read more

The service is getting worse overtime. I signed up for delivery notification from usps. Got a notification that i will receive an incoming package but in reality i did not receive anything that day. Now I don't even know where is my package. No wonder usps is losing money. They are managed by incapable individuals. read more

I like this post office. The wait was reasonable, the staff were polite, and instead of telling me what I could not have/what they did not have, they gave me options. I came in to buy a book of stamps and I had my heart set of the Marvin Gaye philatelic stamps, but unfortunately, they were out. I asked about 2-3 other styles, but they were out of those too. Instead of getting impatient, she explained to me why they might not get more in anytime soon (they need to sell a certain number of sheets from the entire philatelic collection, not just one type, before they are sent more) and told me about the ones she did have in stock. I asked her to show me what she had in stock and she was happy to oblige. I found a sheet that I was satisfied with and was on my way quickly. I have nothing against the staff here at this post office. I wish they were more efficient or maybe having more employees assist at the counters (I am sure that's out of their control though since it is a government agency). Government agencies are not known for their quickness. I came here to do a simple transaction - in and out. I would have used the kiosk but the kiosk didn't have the option I was looking for. I waited about 20-30 minutes and the line became to grow longer and longer. Part of the wait isn't necessarily the employee's fault but sometimes the patrons are not prepared and their transaction is prolonged more than necessary. Parking here isn't ever an issue. One thing I do like about this location (or maybe other locations are similar) but the lobby is opened 24/7 so if you need to use the kiosk for whatever reason, it is available to you. read more

Came by to drop off some packages in the back of the building as I was told to do. The sign outside says to leave packages inside but it's not clear as to where you should leave it so I went inside to ask someone where they want it. I asked a lady who is sitting at her desk and she mumbled something, I said I'm sorry I couldn't hear you (she's wearing a mask) annoyingly she says by the door. There are multiples doors leading to the back area, I asked which door? She said by the door with a nasty attitude. I went in today in the morning for a last minute passport appointment I was able to secure. The staff at the counter were very kind and pointed me to the right direction of where I should go and even went to the back when my knocking on the door wasn't answered. The man running the passport was very kind and helped me understand when my passport would arrive and if it would arrive in time for a trip I have planned. He provided excellent service and was very professional and kind. This was a great experience in comparison to very rude encounters u have had at different post offices! As you can see from the vast amount of reviews about how terrible ROBERT in the passport department is, I figured I should share my experience in hopes maybe someone will actually take the proper steps in making this right. Robert in the passport department was EXTREMELY rude & condescending during my appointment. This man (or should I say troll) practically threw my paperwork back at me over the counter then proceeded with a lengthy political rant discussing his personal political views. While on his rant, he spoke over me, refused to answer any of my questions regarding the paperwork or rescheduling the appointment. He went on for close to 15 minutes spewing his personal opinions and not answering any of my questions. Mind you I had been waiting over a month for the appointment to begin with. I'm sure you can see how distasteful this was, as I am there to submit paperwork not hear his personal political opinions and be disrespected in the process. He refused to submit my paperwork & claimed they could not accept one of my documents, when it states ON YOUR WEBSITE & IN THE INSTRUCTIONS that YOU send out to confirm the appointment in the first place. I thoroughly read your "instructions" and brought the appropriate paperwork as requested as I had OVER A MONTH to prepare for this waste of time appointment that turned into Robert standing on his soap box in place of actually doing his job. Instead of helping a customer, he was WILDLY unprofessional and refused to process my request due to pure laziness. Robert made the entire experience unpleasant and ensured that I will not be back to this location for any services in the future solely due to how this experience went. For the amount of foot traffic at this location there needs to be more employees to assist customers. 3 employees and 12 customers waiting in line. Transactions vary and can take up a lot of time. Which reduces the amount of employees to assist other customers. Please hire more employees this is kind of ridiculous. read more

One of the better experiences I've had with USPS. It seems like I always see the same people working here, and I think low turnover is usually a good sign of continuity and knowledge. There was a long line of customers ahead of me (about eight to ten people), but I didn't have to wait longer than at other offices, where I would have waited that same amount of time for only one or two people ahead of me. The only concerns are that the parking lot can get full (must be from other business or buildings--this parking lot is huge, and can hold several times he capacity of the post office). Also, the entrance to this location is on a hill, by a curve, so it can be a little nerve-racking trying to get into or out of this place. read more

We had an appointment for our passports. We waited and then knocked when it came closer to our appointment, this man opened the door and was surprisingly really rude from the beginning.. It caught me off guard cause I wasn't expecting that type of unprofessional and rude behavior. Even during the process he made it seem like we were making his job hard and we weren't allowed to ask questions and if we did he replied in a rude loud tone as if we didn't speak or understand English. Honestly, felt uncomfortable and stressed out during the whole process. I was afraid we were going to get kick out if we speak up. There was even one point where he yelled at my husband to not stand by his desk and to go sit down only to call him up again less than 1 minute later. They should really get someone with better communication skills and personable behavior. We have had a few issues over the 2 years that we've lived here, but understand that mistakes happen. This time however, I'm beyond frustrated. Our condo complex got new mailboxes installed and so, our mail was delivered on 5/22/22 for the last time to our old mailboxes. We were told that we could go to the post office to get our mail if we couldn't wait until after the new mailboxes were installed. I went to the post office last week to try to pick up my mail, only to be told (after a long wait), that the mail was not sorted by address (like it would be for vacation hold), and so I would have to wait until this week to get my mail delivered. Monday was a holiday , but it is now Wednesday, 6/1 , and we still don't have any mail. I have some important mail that should have been delivered over a week ago and it doesn't seem like it's going to show up anytime soon. I called the post office and was told no supervisors were on duty, so the gal just took a message and said someone would call me back. The on-line service at USPS.com is a joke. I have had good service when I had to go to the post office (with the exception of the last time). But the lack of urgency on the post office's part and terrible service related to this situation is just terrible. So frustrated right now... and I'm sure there are a couple hundred others living in this complex that feel the same. read more

Update- I'm now waiting for a package THAT HAS BEEN SITTING AT THEIR OFFICE FOR THREE DAYS. I am tracking the package and they received it LAST WEEK and I still can't get the package. AND STILL NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE. Unfortunate thing is nobody of any kind of importance will see this and change anything. Might as well just shut the office down and start from scratch. Our neighborhood post office, and with all the technology out there, this post office is pretty dang busy. This post office has a drive through (east side of property, parallel with Alcosta Blvd) with multiple boxes to drop off letters or large envelopes for folks that already have postage. If you have to go in, plenty of parking out front, but be careful of cars backing up. If you need postage, I prefer going to the self service machine. Pretty efficient and self-explanatory. Walks you through the whole process. Great for getting postage for large envelopes, packages, etc. Don't forget your credit card. If you must go to the counter, just be patient. Not as bad as the DMV, but just realize you'll be waiting. Most of my experiences dealing with the counter people have been fairly positive. It's a thankless job. I can only imagine how many people they serve on a daily basis. read more
