I receive residential delivery from the La Verne Post Office. Lately the service has been bad to the point of negligence. The other day a certified letter addressed to another addres - requiring a signature - was left in my mailbox. The past week 3 letters mailed to various addresses have appeared in my mailbox. I visited the Post Office on 3 occasions to discuss this with a supervisor and was never able to talk with anyone. There seems a real sloppiness that is creeping into a once locally proud office. My experiences at this post office are hit and miss. There are a couple of employees who are friendly, reliable, and competent. I did have a notable BAD experience last Christmas when a female employee failed to place the postage stamp on a box of Christmas gifts I was sending to Seattle. I mailed the package nine days before Christmas using priority mail. The cost was approximately $48.00. Two days before Christmas the same box appeared on my doorstep indicating postage was needed. Needless to say, I was not happy, and immediately took the package and my receipt back to this location. When I was told by the counter employee that there was nothing he could do, that I would have to pay for expedited shipping if I wanted the package to arrive by Christmas, I was outraged and asked to speak to the supervisor. I waited close to thirty minutes before she appeared. She responded to my complaint and request that the USPS make it right by expediting the package at its cost in an apathetic and disinterested manner. She denied my request, stating there was nothing that she could do. They could not (or would not) refund my $48.00 so that I might ship it elsewhere, so as I was not going to pay the additional charge to get the package to Seattle by Christmas, the package arrived three days late. Henceforth, I have used UPS in Claremont for all my large packages. It has proven to be much more cost efficient and reliable. In addition, I rarely have to wait in extended lines as is common with this USPS location. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and aim to please. After my experience last Christmas, I feel very little sympathy for the woes of the USPS. read more

By far the worst post office in the area. My business moved in 2014 from suite 101 to suite 102. Doors adjacent to each other. Fast forward to January 2016 and all of a sudden we are no longer receiving some packages/mail. We are a dental lab so everything is time sensitive as you can imagine. We didn't even realize what was going on (assumed it was just slow) until a dentist called looking for a package, then another, and another. All patients missing their restorations and we have no records at all. Come to realize the mail man was replaced and the new one didn't even bother to let us know that he was automatically returning everything (which now takes over a month to even locate the packages). He never attempted to deliver to suite 101 as they have taken to occasional package or letter for us and just walked it over to us. Or come to us at suite 102 and let us know that the packages are being sent wrong and for us to notify the dentist to make a correction to their shipping labels. Could have avoided so much trouble. Today we knew a package was coming out for delivery and waited for the mail man to personally and go get the package from him, only to be told that he doesn't even bring any of our packages out, just automatically lists them as wrong address and leaves them at the post office. Of course the post office claims they don't have anything there and we have no way of getting our package. I don't think they realize there are people affected by what they are doing and a little customer service goes a long way. We do not use the post office for our business, we use fedex, and this is a shinning example of why. read more

I wish zero star was an option...thats what I would give them! I went into the office on Thursday, September 1st around 3:30pm. I was trying to ship a phone back to T-Mobil. I had my box's and return shipping label ready to go! While standing line they had an employee checking to see what service everyone needed. I stated it I just need to ship the phone back he looked at the box, he looked at the label, he said "absolutely" I asked him if I could we get a receipt he said yes they will print you one. While standing in line two male employee's (older heavy set guys) did nothing but complain how overworked they were, and how one of them had to come in, and work on his day off. Very unprofessional, if they are hurting for staff they need to hire staff. Once it was my turn one of the guys told me in a very rude voice" first of all you use my tape... I'm going to have to charge you for that... second of all we don't print receipt... third of all this isn't even our label". I was very confused because it said U.S. Postal and had it had return label on it with return address.The other guy stated he needed to look it up in the computer... he did not! I took my box, I left and went to UPS Store located in Laverne right next to Yogurtland. They told me that was definitely a U.S. postal label, and they should have shipped it and printed me a receipt. The UPS Store took care of it for me no charge, although they were unable to provide me with the receipt because it needed to be shipped by US Postal, they still took care of it for me. That's what customer is about service. La Verne post office customer service is unacceptable, and hopefully the manager will see this Yelp pull these two guys in the office have a Stern talk to them about customer service and get them the proper training that they need or force them into early retirement! read more

Zero stars !!! Worst post office !!!! They are rude , disrespectful, and unprofessional. Typical behavior for a government ran business , they think they are above providing just descent service. They don't ever answer there phone either called about 100 times just got busy noise . BEWARE anyone who goes here for PASSPORTS : went they this morning at 10 am, right when they opened for a passport . A couple people in line before me waited for 45 mins and at 10:45 the lady said she was going to lunch . Closed her door and left . What ????? They had just opened at 10 . She wouldn't make any appt. cause they were booked . So rude so I asked to speak to a manager . An older women with the thickest accent came over and started to yell at me from what I could understand she was saying what do you want me to do she has to go to lunch she has been here since 4:00am( hmm that's 6 1/2 hours umm against the law to not have a lunch before then) she has to go to lunch . I had to ask her why was she yelling I wasn't yelling at her and she stated you started it. Wow so unprofessional and immature for an elderly lady a manger on top of that to be so aggressive and combative. It's just disgusting that our government wouldn't take more pride in providing descent service with well educated and English speaking people who can act normal and have manners. Made appointment for five family passports. Told our customer service person was late, and it would be a while. Send us to another person. Who sends us to another staff person. We get taken in back, pictures taken. She uses a wide angle and we look like cartoon characters. We get taken back out front. Then they put our service person on counter and send us to her. She is processing us and customers waiting in line for stamps, mail pick up, taking other transactions, etc. She is extremely distracted, schuffling our paperwork like a shell game, and going back and forth between all five of our apps rather than processing one at a time. I gave her all the paperwork. She is distracted, messing up, inattentive, and confusing me because she is all over the place. She finishes our paperwork finally and I am so confused because she was so confused. I get home and realize our international adoption paperwork is gone. Call the post office and she says sent with passport applications. Passports come back and only two pieces of paperwork of international adoption paperwork returned. I knew she lost it because she was shoving our paperwork around so inattentively that she wasn't paying close enough attention to know what she was doing. She even had to refund our money orders for it and had to reprocess more money orders. I have no adoption paperwork for our kid, and now if we need it we will never have it again. I knew she lost it, and she denied it. She probably threw it away after we left not knowing what it was. She was so distracted it felt like an insult to customer service. I would have expected to be taken back, processed by ourselves in a calm orderly fashion. Instead we were treated with customer service like a fast food joint and not very important at all. I go to this post office, i live in Pomona, this post office is faster and more people friendly, mainly because they have a large amount of different people of different races working at the counter and the 24/7 machines... I use to go to the Pomona Post office but found that the lines where long and slow, mainly because a lot of the people are from South American Countries and they need help filling out forms and having stuff explained to them. I commend the postal workers for taking the time to help people who may not know how to fill out the forms in English, BUT I get a little upset that I have to wait so long for service,,,I was told that the La Verne office is fast and the lines are shorter, I tried them and found it was faster and less problems with the Clerks dealing with the Customers...Plus the Pomona office Closes at 12:00 PM on Saturdays, the La Verne office Closes at 4:00 PM Saturdays this gives me time to get stuff ready to ship on the weekends, I should not be writing this review, people may start coming from the Pomona area to this post office and that may make it take longer for service, but after reading negatives about this office I could not help but review this office, I have never had a rude or bad situation with the clerks at La Verne they are professional and friendly, They see me a few times a week and they greet me with a smile and a good morning or a good evening, some even ask how I am doing. If you talk nice and do not come in with a chip on your shoulders not only at the post office but just about anywhere , people will be nice back, if you are negative and loud , People anywhere will treat you in kind. Just treat people like you would like to be treated and treat them with respect and I am sure you will find things go better no matter which People at the counter you deal with. read more
