They said the address is insufficient. I showed to them the photo of the mail. They did nothing. The merchant sent me a photo of the registered mail with the trucking number and bar code. This is one of the worst Post Offices! Never fails when I come in that the drop off is locked because it's full. I can go at different times and it's always locked and when I ask if they can clear it they get upset and are bothered! Not all the attendants are rude, but one lady (I won't name her name) is rude sarcastic and condescending to patrons! I went in today at 10:05 and it was locked. Long story short, I was getting lots of mail delivered to different addresses or lost on the way. My carrier would shove what did arrive in the box carelessly and plenty of it would get damaged. This review is for two outstanding individuals who pick-up my business packages without fail. Sayvon and Jessie Arosco. I have a business and the products are shipped via USPS for over the past ten years. I have a pick-up each day in the late afternoon. Mon-Sat. These two employees never forget and always remember to stop and collect the outgoing shipments. If you are a business in the North Hollywood area and the items you ship are 3lbs or less the USPS service is your choice. There is somewhat of a disconnect when these two employees have the same day off for business pickups. There appears to be a lot of changes at this post office with upper management in 2019. So far I do not see that this has been a positive change. This is very obvious when the regular mail carrier Juan has a day off or is re-routed due to work load. Zero 's Stars The Post Master and Supervisor plus the mail carrier that delivers to Fair Avenue has to be the most incompetent individuals I have EVER encountered in my life!!!! Long detailed story and a complaint was filed with the OIG office. I am still waiting on a response. I filled out a hold mail from my address while in the middle of moving dated March 9-21 online with a confirmation that was included. I went to this post office three times after this to retrieve my mail along with getting daily snap shots in my email of what was coming in the mail. The first occurrence 3/12/2020 they failed to hold the mail. They said the carrier delivered it went to my old address. I spoke with the Supervisor (bald headed guy with red vest) at the location & showed him the the confirmation. He apologized and said he would have the mail carrier pull our mail and hold it. I filled out another hold for the same dates with him standing there as he advised and he even wrote it down as well. I went back after seeing my daily delivery digest on 3/17/2020. I was again told by the same supervisor there must be some mix up there was no mail being held when HE and myself filled it out the second!!!! Then he asked me to go by to see if I could get access to my old mailbox which is a gated complex. First, it should be their responsibility! I put my mail on hold for the reason! I had moved!!!! I would not have access!!! This was not my responsibility!!!! He told me he was sorry and that on the 21st all my mail would be there waiting. I asked to speak with the Post Master there who assured me that it would be corrected and to come back on the 21st. I was able to get into my old complex area and retrieve what mail was in my old mailbox but I am missing mail! This is the fault of the USPS at the Chandler Blvd, North Hollywood CA 91601 location! I went back on Monday March 23rd since my hold had been lifted and I had several pieces of mail of utmost importance. When I arrived at the Post Office guess what.....there was no mail being held and I had to go through to the leasing office to find there was nothing in my old mailbox as well. Where is my mail that i get daily snapshot pictures of sent to my email???? I just forwarded my mail today so anything prior to the 23rd should have been secured with the post office. I WANT THE CARRIER, SUPERVISOR AND POST MASTER REPRIMANDED to the fullest. I have never even my life seen so much incompetence in my life. Complaining about waiting in line at the post office is like complaining about waiting in line at any other cash register. It's inevitable, dudes. So, give yourself some time before heading over... -1 for having a metered parking lot, but you might luck out and park a spot with leftover time! The building is fairly spacious and there's at least 3-4 windows with employees taking in the next guest as efficiently as possible. The woman who helped me even gave me pointers to collect FREE envelopes (prepaid by the company who sent me the mailing label) and adhesive packing labels prior to waiting at the window. First off, know that I gave another post office FIVE stars so I am most definitely not anti-post office, etc. A woman called Veronica, who is the Mail Carrier Supervisor, has ordered the carrier to discontinue delivering our mail due to a broken buzzer on ONE of the TWO gates that grant access to our very small 11 unit property. So every day the carrier walks in and delivers the mail to the East side but not the West side of the very small two building complex on a busy and safe street. OK fine. So I come up with a solution and open the broken gate and place a police grade lock on the open gate so that the buzzer will no longer be an issue. I contact Veronica and explain that I have resolved the problem, but that is no help, because she digs in. "We will not deliver your mail until your management company fixes the buzzer." Gee, didn't know the post office was my new landlord/tenant relations agent also. I've lived here 12 years. The buzzers break from time to time. And each time, the mail carrier has just gone through the other gate, no muss, no fuss. I saw the carrier today and asked him about this and he told me he can't do that because it would require him....are you ready for this....to walk up ONE step. Yep - one. Not a ten foot step, not a mountain, a single stair step, which I've seen him walk up several times in the past. I went to Chandler Station to retrieve my mail and guess what? They gave me half the neighbors mail too! I'm not kidding. I took photos of all and went back in to return the mail and inquired with another rude person called Marlon as to why the carrier wouldn't just resume mail service. He told me, and I quote: "You are talking to a brick wall, sir." "What...Do you think you are going to reinvent the wheel sir?" I had just asked a simple question. Anyway, the absolute, unmitigated worst. And although it won't happen to me, this is the type of situation that turns a kind person all Tea Party and shit. read more

If you live in this area, do not allow friends/family/businesses to ship your heavy items to you via USPS. Why? Because the drivers that work out of this location will not deliver a heavy package. They just won't. In fact, if you are at home awaiting your heavy package, you will find out the hard way that your package is not even on their truck. Handicapped? Fuck you. They WILL NOT deliver your heavy package. When you call to inquire about your heavy package, you will be told that the driver has discretion - if the driver feels it is not safe to leave your package at your door, the driver is under no obligation to do so. If you then point out the utter lack of concern that your mail dude seems to have for your small and light packages - all of which get left at your door or on the ground beside your mailbox (because the door is up a single flight of stairs, perhaps? - you will only piss off the person you've called. Call them only if you need the adrenaline surge, not if you actually want satisfaction, because there is none to be had. So why two stars instead of only one? Because the location is clean, the self-service machines always work, the supplies are well stocked even at Christmas time, and the folks behind the counter are mostly sweet and helpful (unless you're handicapped and ask for help carrying out your heavy package because fuck you that's why). read more

Not only is it almost always packed with people in a huge, often half-hour plus line, some of the employees there--sequestered behind the counter's impenetrable glass fortress--seem to have some sort of personal vendetta against anyone trying to pick up their mail. they interrogate you and treat you suspiciously as if you aren't who you say you are, despite presenting ID / proof of residence, and will seemingly do anything they can to withhold your mail as long as possible. i am not the only one who has had such experience. unfortunately, i have a small mailbox which means any mid or large-sized packages have to be picked up at this horrible station because my zip code dictates it. it almost makes me fear getting packages, because of the gauntlet i must run to wrestle them from the post office. add the fact that the parking lot is metered, and you get one giant failure of a public service outpost. read more

The root of all my headaches when I have mail!! The mail delivery men are great workers. But if you ever have to step foot in this location.. You're bound to leave unsatisfied. Parking is not free anymore. But there are always spaces available. The manager Mike obviously despises working here and seems he hates his customers as well. Don't believe me? Try to ask him one question, a simple one at that and you'll regret even exchanging words with him. Rowanda has enough attitude to make you wait until the other two ladies are available to assist you. She is extremely rude, who interviewed this woman?!!! He obviously doesn't like speaking with people, and refused to let me finish a sentence before claiming there was nothing he could do about my missing package. He straight up told me the carrier could have delivered it to the wrong apartment, but there was nothing they could do. No apologies, no offer to double check anything. I could write at least a few short stories with my experiences that I had in this post-office. I go here for at least 10 years and just put up with it since it's the closest to me. This place can be a hit or miss, sometimes they have short to no lines, sometimes there are very long ones and the manager doesn't really do anything about it. The people who work here -well, that's another story. Another hit or miss situation. There are a few nice people working here, helpful and with a good attitude, if you get one of them, you're in luck. If not, your experience could be so different. Not a pleasant one. They need to train their people better, how about smiling, greeting, the basics? A few of them treated me like I'm their enemy and I have a bomb or two in my packages. They don't know how to guide you and even if you're very prepared, they still bark at you. I gave this place a lot of business over the years, with other places, I established some friendly customer service relationships, people recognize me, greet me, know my name, but not here! And their manager (guess Marlin is his name) is just horrible. He's rude, loves to block people and not help them, "No" is the 1st word that comes out of his mouth! His attitude and manners are terrible. Recently, USPS lost a package for me and they had to reimburse me the mailing cost and despite this horrible experience, Marlin was the one giving me a hard time instead of at least apologizing. They so need to replace him. I filed complaints about him and if you have problems with him, please, do so. I'd love to go there and not see his face again! Parking is another issue- since you have to pay for meter parking and that sucks! They try to make too much money off us. This place really makes me feel quite frustrated. I am forced to come here at least monthly, because my packages are sent here, or I need a money order, or stamps. There is so much potential here to be a first class business, and they fail. The architecture of the building is its greatest asset. It was built in either the 20's or 30's, with a small wood vestibule as one enters the lobby. The main room has an eighteen foot ceiling, and ornate metal grating on the higher windows. Supplies and forms are readily accessible. But here is where the greatness stops. The Customer Service is hit or miss - some are quite friendly and helpful, while others belong on a pirate ship. Also, they are horribly understaffed. When I was there today, they only had one attendant, and thirteen people were in line. This is not an exaggeration. They also opened ten minutes late. All of the street parking nearby, and the adjoining lot provide only metered parking. This is fine if you put in enough money, but today, I waited for over half an hour before being helped, and my meter had just ran out. I didn't want to risk losing my place in line to put in more coinage. Thankfully, I did not get a ticket. For some reason, they couldn't open their vault, so this post office was not selling any stamps. How can a post office not sell stamps? If at all possible, I avoid this location, even though its the closest to my house. read more

Typical governmental bureaucratic bullcrap. Sent a certified parcel on December 15, and of course today, December 24th, it hasn't been delivered. Worst: It's one mile out in town. I literally could have crawled quicker ! Where is the package? When I look at the USPS site it says the "North Hollywood is holding your package, but will make an attempt to deliver it the next day when the business is open" Well, that was on the 17th. The USPS genuinely needs to be shut down. It's failing. That's the short version. Long version: I had a package set to be delivered on the 6th, it's the 9th and it's not here so I check tracking information and it says "forwarded" to a different address. I spend 40 minutes on the phone only to be told "whoops yeah they shouldn't have forwarded it, but if you need it right now it's at your local post office!" "Ok, are you sure it's there?" "Yep!" Great. I head down to this post office, wait literally 40 minutes while they try to find it. The guy comes back multiple times because he can't find it - "ah yeah it's not here. it's going to be sent out again soon." ".......so, should I expect a delivery or do I have to come back here?" "We'll call you and let you know". Yes.... I'll be holding my breath. So who knows what happened to my package or if it'll be delivered, but good God the USPS is an absolute mess. I'll gladly give my money to private companies and Jeff Bezos if it means I can actually receive the things I've paid for. Please, shut this place down. The USPS Service is one of the worse services known to man! DO NOT EVER USE this Service! They don't care about you whatsoever! I shipped a package to Canada via EXPRESS, which the fees are almost double UPS. I will NEVER EVER use USPS service again! By using USPS EXPRESS your package is guaranteed to be delivered to the destination by a certain date and time. I shipped this package for $300 in gifts to my brother in Canada. The package left the United States via LosAngeles and never made it to Canada. I put a case for this package which is now considered lost! Waited over two hours on the phone and all supervisor told me that they are not responsible for my package! Mind you she told me they are not responsible! Why did I spend an extra amount of money for express service and to ensure my package if they aren't responsible? Phone who just blatantly lied to me end it wasn't helpful at all! Warning! Do not even consider on using USPS service ever! Your package will be lost and they don't care and you'll never get your money back! they probably have behind the scenes ripping people off because they know that there's no way anyone can do anything about it! We live in an apartment, so every time my husband orders something on eBay or his family sends us something, we get the dreaded slip and someone has to come here to pick it up. It used to be me until I threatened divorce several times. I just have my packages sent to my office. So much easier. If he wants something, let him go get it! You can't park anywhere near this place without putting money in a meter. Street or in their parking lot. Maybe that's not their fault, maybe it's the City. Be willing to pay for about 20 minutes or so, at least, because if you have to stand in line, that's how long you'll be here, at least. I used to be cheap and hopeful, and put in for like 10 minutes, but do I want to get a ticket? No! So just put in the extra money. You're going to be waiting. Once you get to the window, if you are sending something, they always ask if you want to buy stamps too. I guess that's helpful, but maybe it's why it goes so slowly. They have open windows now, a counter, actually, but years ago they had a robbery where someone jumped over the counter, etc. so they erected these Fort Knox like lucite barriers. Terrible way to communicate with the people there. They took those down, so I guess they aren't worried anymore? I started thinking maybe all post offices are like this, but I went to one in Glendale at the holidays and not only is the lot free (sure it's small, but it's free) but they worked to get people through. Really, I try to retain a sense of empathy and compassion, but they have lost a second package of mine in one month! The incompetence of the U.S. Postal Service is breathtaking.
